Sent: How to Evangelize Wherever You Are, Whoever You Are

Rate this book
For decades, Christians comforted themselves with the belief that young people drifting from church would eventually return when life got serious and they needed something to fall back on. But what happens when a generation comes of age that never went to church in the first place? Increasingly, young people today are looking for meaning but don't know where to find it. In Sent, Franciscan friar and Catholic priest Fr. Casey Cole, OFM offers a practical guide for living out the original mission of the evangelization. Drawing from Scripture, Catholic tradition, and years of pastoral experience, Fr. Casey presents sixteen actionable steps, from preparing your own heart to building authentic relationships that any Christian can follow to share their faith in the world. This is not a book for someone else to read. It’s for you. The Church’s mission will rise or fall on the willingness of ordinary Christians to live and share the Gospel in everyday life.

This book is well written and a great resource on how to evangelize. It is not long winded, and the author does a great job of clearly and simply laying out the steps needed to evangelize well, with great examples from his own experiences or from scripture. What I especially appreciate about this book is that it is not written as a "do these simple steps and you will be a master evangelist." It really gets to the heart of why we evangelize, and how it's not about the number of people reached but about the realtionships formed and the lives affected.

I recommend this book to everyone, because just as the author points out, evangelization isn't just for a special class of people like ordained priests. We are all called as Christians to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth... and to the person right in front of you.

loved it. He writes in the same style as the way that he talks in his videos so for me it was kind of like he read it to me in my head.
