Official catalog of the exhibition Paolo Veronese (1528 - 1588) held at the Prado Museum in 2025. In addition to the color plates of the exhibition pieces, it contains a number of essays on Veronese and 16th century Venetian Art with plates of related art work by other artists.
Doctor in Art History from the University of Padua with a doctoral thesis on Giovanni Bonconsiglio il Marescalco, research that derives from the publication of his complete catalog of works in 1998. He has been a professor at the Università degli Studi di Verona since 1999. He is a specialist in Venetian painting from the 15th to the 18th centuries, a subject on which he published more than 350 studies that included articles, monographs, essays and catalogs of exhibitions, among others. He is a member of the scientific committee of the Fondazione Centro Studi Tiziano e Cadore and of the journals Studi Tizianeschi and Cenezia Cinquecento. He is the curator of several exhibitions, including Bellini and Vicenza, Giorgione and Venezia e l'Eggito.
Excellent review of Veronese's paintings along with equally excellent essays about Venetian history and culture as well as Veronese's work. Just wish I had been able to see the show for which this is the catalog.
