Nothing says I love you like cookies and a little light stalking.
Elsie You can take a girl out of a small town, but you can't really take the small town out of a girl, because I'm a fish out of water in Chicago. My best friend is convinced my hot cop neighbor is in the mafia. I'm convinced he belongs in my bed. But I did not expect Noah Kirk to show up on my doorstep with cookies. I definitely didn't expect to bring him home with me when I returned the favor. Now, we're in this weird place where he thinks we're friends…and I'm secretly planning our wedding. I need out of this friend zone before I combust. But how do you tell the detective of your dreams that you stalk him through the window?
Noah Bringing my curvy neighbor cookies was a desperate ploy to learn her name. I didn't expect to fall in love in two seconds flat. But Elsie Cameron is the stuff dreams are made from. Now, I spend all my time at her place...or trying to convince her to come to mine. But trying to tell her that I'm wild about her is an entirely different matter. If I lose her, I will do shady, illegal things. But if she isn't in my bed, wearing my ring soon, I may be forced to burn my own house down just so I can move into hers. Whatever it takes to make her mine. Have I mentioned that I'm desperate?

I HATE EXPERIENCED HEROES PAIRED WITH VIRGIN HEROINES! The inequality is infuriating!
Safe No cheating experienced hero not a man whore
Quote, Did she think I meant my girlfriend or something? Shit. I haven't had one of those since I was…hell, nineteen? I mean, I've been on a few dates over the years. What thirty-nine year-old bachelor hasn't been on a few dates? I'd be fucking weird if I hadn't. But I haven't bothered making time for a relationship when I've had other priorities—like becoming a detective. Falling into bed with a long line of badge bunnies never interested me when I had goals. end quote
virgin heroine Quote, "Elsie, baby. Am I your first?" My voice is as gentle as I can make it. She's silent. My heart hammers as I lift my palm off her ass and caress up her spine, soothing the tension there. This isn't an inquisition, and I don't want her to feel that way. This is a matter of ensuring she has what she needs. "It's okay, baby. I just need to know so I don't hurt you tonight." end quote
No OP comparisons No separation No gross condom use No stupid third act break up Hero was a dick to her for no reason Heroine a push over and forgave him and even apologized to him! HEA
The story is stupid simple. It was meant to be a light rom com, but I was in no mood to laugh. Noah is a detective living across the street from Elsie, a high school teacher. He is 39 and she is in her mid twenties I am assuming. They stalk each other, and he brings her cookies. They get into this friendship watching TV and eating food exchanging "witty" banter. There is this moment when Elsie says that paying with cash is like getting the item for free, because her bank total doesn't change and he responds that she would still pay, to which she 'sasses' the total in her bank would remain the same. It made me think she was a tad stupid and even the hero thought that it was an attempt at being cute. This was just a failed attempt at making her quirky. Some of the humor landed, and some just made me roll my eyes thinking, 'ok, so I guess this part was supposed to be funny'.. At one point Noah was an ass for no reason to her because his dick was hard, he wants to fuck Elsie that badly, but because he put HIMSELF in the friendzone, and was too pussy to go claim his woman he decided to insult her! Get this, she goes to his house to gift him something he would like, but before she does he gets snippy with her and was just mean to her. He says she is a bad teacher for leaving late to go to school and that she is a bad example for students. Here is the scene,
Quote, Fuck the friendzone. I want forever. So much so that it's turning me into a goddamn madman. "Shouldn't you be on the way to work already?" I ask, cringing when the question comes out far more abrupt and gruff than intended. She notices and blinks at me. I should apologize. I fucking know I should. But she's standing in front of me, looking like a goddess, and I'm slowly losing my mind. I haven't slept since the day before yesterday. She's perfect. My dick hurts. And I'm just…irritable as hell. I don't want to apologize. I want to drag her into my arms, yank her skirt up, and plow into her until she's screaming my name so loud the entire fucking neighborhood hears her. "You can't keep showing up late when they're depending on you to be there. What kind of example are you setting for the kids if you're late all the time?" She flinches, and I feel like the biggest asshole because that isn't what I wanted to say. It isn't even what I mean. She's an amazing role model, and I fucking know she is. She's not even late that often. And it's not her fault that she hasn't figured out how to navigate traffic yet. She's from the middle of nowhere, for fuck's sake. I'm sure the only traffic her town ever had was a funeral procession. "Right," she says, reaching into her bag. "I just wanted to give you this while you were home since I wasn't sure when I'd see you again." "We've been working the case." end quote. She did not provoke him and he had no reason to be a dick to her. Immediately he used her as a verbal punching bag because his cock is too hard, and he is too much of a coward to claim her. His detective partner even tells him that! If he were inexperienced like her then I can forgive it, because it would all be new to him, but he is acting like a petulant teenager! Of course she had no idea why he was so mean to her and cried. That happened the day after he leaned in for a kiss, she was ready for it, but he had a call for a new case to investigate and left. She was saddened, but never gave him the impression she wasn't into wanting that kiss! He texted her he was sorry and then apologize some more in person. The apology was well done so points to him. Before that, he was a sweetheart, eagerly searching for her company, and loving being with her watching TV shows. He was sweet and made her smile and laugh, he was even muttering under his breath when he was flustered, so the chemistry is there. He waited a month since they met to finally get his head out of his ass and claim her. I can forgive her, because this is all new to her. Of course she is scared and she also friend zoned herself in a way, but she was more obvious in her liking him. His grown ass couldn't pick up the hint? He has had experience so he knows how this works! If you are looking for an alpha who will claim his woman, look elsewhere. In his defense, he did say "I love you" first, and did spill out all of his feelings to her in the third act. I did like that he did that because she deserved the kind, passionate man that offered her cookies. Some parts were good, but I just could not get passed my bias as I am an emotional reader. As soon as a trope I hate surfaces, it sours the rest of the book. It is what it is.
This part when they first have sex, is just nonsense! Quote, Of course this isn't just sex to him. How could I ever think it was? Noah isn't like that. He doesn't serial-date half the women of Chicago. Frankly, I wouldn't care if he did because he's more than his sexual history, and I won't reduce him to that like it defines his worth. end quote. I HATE when authors try to normalize players. It really bothers me! Nichole Rose tries to nudge at us saying that if he were a player, he still would be a good guy to root for. Um NO!! Players think of the next person they want to fuck when they are in the middle of fucking with no regard if they are hurting the people they are intimate with, so NO! Players are irredeemable and not to be trusted! The hero isn't a man whore, but I hated that this part was even mentioned. I hate inequality in the sexual history of the couple as the unfairness of it infuriates me and it is clear the hero is experienced. I hate when an experienced hero is paired with a virgin heroine and I unapologetically feel strongly about it! I do want Felix and Nina's story (Nina is Elsie and Noah's daughter), because at least it starts when they are toddlers, so at least maybe I can have a dual vcard romance. The epilogue was cute. Will not reread!
Noah has been crushing on his new neighbor Elsie girl from Texas moving into the city. They start off as friends even if both wanted more lol then sorta friend zoned eachother. Which was funny watching Noah be a stalker feom afar. Maybe it was my period but I did tear up when he accidentally made a mistake and made Elsie feel bad. Wanted to smack him upside the head. they had some good chemistry as friends and as lovers. :)
But if you want a cute comfy read this baby is for you.

I’ve been looking forward to Noah’s book, and he was just as funny as his brother, if not more so! The banter in this one was hilarious and witty, I was smiling and giggling through most of it. It also had a seamless juxtaposition between confidence and vulnerability for both characters which I though was brilliant. They were both so sure of themselves, but second guessed who they were to each other so much. Noah was obsessed with her, but so scared of pushing her away which came through the writing so well. Elsie was an adorable ball of sunshine, and I loved how she showed her love in little ways at first. I also really liked Jackson, him and Noah’s interactions were perfection. It felt a little rushed at the end, but I also think that was kind of a great way to end it too. No cheating or OM/OW drama, virgin FMC, dual POV, lite stalking, HEA and an epilogue 8 years in the future. I can’t remember if we’ve gotten a book for Alice yet, or where she connects in the universe, but if we haven’t I hope we do!
This was very simple and very fast. They’re across the street neighbors, start hanging out, he’s mean to her once, then they’re together.
There’s not too much substance. There are probably only like 4 characters mentioned the whole time honestly. 😂
It ended so abruptly to me, but there was a short epilogue at least!
safety wise: he’s a cop, but there’s no on page scenes of anything with that Romance wise: she’s a virgin, he’s not. I hated how she says he’s not a manho but it would be ok if he was because we’re not reduced to our history - a great sentiment but somewhat lessened because of the inequality?? No ow/om drama at all, he seems to barely date

*Beauty and the Cop* is the second book in the *Accidentally in Love* series, and I just couldn’t help but fall for Elsie and Noah—they’re such a perfect match! When Elsie moves in across the street, it’s like they’re drawn to each other right from the start, stealing glances through their windows.
Their first encounter is so sweet; Noah brings Elsie cookies to welcome her to the neighborhood, and from there, they hit it off! Their playful banter, paired with Elsie's sassy attitude and Noah's charming flirting, really blurs the lines between friendship and something more. As their connection deepens, the tension builds, and things definitely get exciting!
I loved their instant love story so much that I couldn't put the book down—I just zipped through the pages! I really wish it could have gone on longer, but I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This one had a little different feel to it. I am used to Nichole's MMC'S being pretty pushy from the start about where he stands with the FMC. They go warp speed with how they feel about the FMC. Noah waited 4 whole weeks and kept Elsie in friendzone even though he hated it. He was more unsure of himself than past male leads. It was interesting. The "jerky" comment Noah made to Elsie surprised me too. I gave 5 stars for keeping me on my toes with this one. Look forward to more in series.
Elsie, a woman who knows her cookies, well, knows that raisins in cookies is why women have trust issues. When her perfect hottie neighbour, who is not in the mafia, but indeed a cop, brings her cookies, the giggles started. Noah, who is slightly obsessed with his curvy neighbour, who has let her know that he is a cop and not in the mafia, brings cookies to her, fell in love that very second. These two are perfect for each other, they even lock themselves out of their own houses!! Now if only they could convince each other to get out of their own houses friend zone!! Beauty and the Cop is so cute, funny, and a slow burn, that when the spice happens, your heart sings for Elsie and Noah! Loved it!!
This was actually so fun and really cute. 💗 If you love sweet, spice and a neighbour romance, pick this up for a quick read! I was smiling from beginning to the end 🤭
Noah and Elsie are such a witty and funny couple! The light stalking, on both sides, that happens unbeknownst to the other, is amusing and so entertaining to read about. The story is lighthearted and romantic. I laughed so often while reading it. It’s a great story about two individuals who are drawn and attracted to each other, but are too afraid to reach for more and end up believing their in the friendzone, despite wanting a forever with the other. The story is told from dual POV’s as each chapter shifts between the two MCs. There is no cheating, no breakup drama, or relationship interference beyond the hesitancy existing between the Noah and Elsie. I highly recommend this story if you are looking for a lighthearted romantic story.
Instant chemistry from the moment these two finally got the nerve to talk to each other instead of watching out their windows.😂 This was such a fun read, and I just had to put everything else down so I could dive into the love bugs that are Noah and Elsie.
The two main characters clicked so fast, and it felt like they’d known each other forever. I loved their banter, and how it felt like the universe aligned for them to move in next to one another. If you love Nichole Rose’s usual layout of her romance books you are really going to enjoy this one. Loved it and that ending! The cuteness overload is real and those 148 pages flew by.💕😍
Accidentally in Love Series : ✅ Beauty and the Cop - November 20, 2025 - 5 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 NOAH KIRK and ELSIE - it was funny and hot at the same time and the dirty thoughts of both of them and their banter hahah was the cherry on top of this cookie cake 🤩🍒🍰💞 spin off ✅ Accidentally Fudging the Beast - 4.5 ❄️ TRENT KIRK and DANI FROST 🥰
OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice read, a little longer than I usually read but so worth it.

Elsie then locks her keys in her home and they have to call a locksmith. A few days later Noah locks himself out of his home and he has to call his partner Jackson who has a spare key. Elsie likes to bake for Noah, and when her friend Alice finds out she tells her just to tell him how she feels. Elsie doesn't want to tell Noah how she feels she thinks it will ruin their friendship. When Noah wakes up they make love once again, and he asks Elsie if she feels the same way he does. Elsie brightens up Noah's world, and he knows just how lucky he is.

Brilliant instalove story from Nichole. Who doesn't want to fall for their hot neighbour who just so happens to bring cookies and is a cop?
Elsie has just moved to Chicago from Texas, and is trying to settle into her new home, job and city. The last thing she was expecting is Noah, her hot cop neighbour who happens to have a smile that has her clenching her thighs and thinking of him in more than a neighbourly way.
Noah knows from the moment his eyes lock onto Elsie, that she's his present and future. He's ready to commit straight off the bat, and make Elsie his. He's a hard worker, Protective MMC with sex appeal off the charts.
Together Noah and Elsie are adorable, each wanting to be out the friend zone, but scared to make the move and ruin the friendship they have.
What to expect 💜 5 Star Read 💜 Dual POV 💜 Virgin FMC 💜 Neighbours to Lovers 💜 Steamy Scene 💜 Slow ish Burn 💜 Instalove 💜 Protective MMC 💜 Teacher x Cop Romance 💜 Friend Zone to Lovers 💜 Close proximity 💜 HEAs
Brilliant read from Nichole, I loved all of her books and this is no exception.
This review comes from a reader who loves: 🛑 No cheating / no OW-OM drama 💞 Low angst (together > apart) 🚫💔 No third-act breakup — I’m tired and I want them happy 👑 Strong FMC 💪 Take-charge MMC 🔥 Reformed playboy > current manwhore 💬 Miscommunication allowed if resolved like adults 🏡 HEA ALWAYS
I read for joy, vibes, and emotional safety. If you’re here for chaos and pain… we might not be reading the same book 😌📚 I also tend not to rework the summary into reviews because chances are you’ve already read it to get to the book review part of the show.
This book is pure fluff, super short, insta-love (which I never hate), and just freakin' cute. It does take them a bit (sorta) to get out of their own way and get together, but it is so cute and funny. I thought the MMC was hilarious. He's a cop, so I liked that too.
Ultimately, this book isn't groundbreaking, but if you want sweet/cute, fluffy goodness to cleanse the literary palette, then this one is for you!
This is the 1st book in the Accidentally in Love series featuring Noah and Elsie's cute and spicy, funny, neighbors to lovers rom-com. Noah is a cop in Chicago who brings his new neighbor cookies to find out their name. When Elsie accepted his cookies Noah was done for he fell in love with the curvy goddess. Noah keeps making excuses to spend time with Elsie at her place or he tries to get her to go to his place but she's not making it easy. Noah will do whatever it takes to make Elsie his he might even break the law if he has to in order to get Elsie he's already stalking her. What Noah is unaware of is that Elsie has feelings for him she talks to her best-friend who swears he's in the mafia not a cop about him. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this cute and spicy, funny, neighbors to lovers rom-com to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is part if the author’s Accidentally In Love series and features a friends to lovers romance between a big city cop and a sweet Texas school teacher transplant to the Windy City.
Both MCs, neighbors, realizing they’d been thrust into the friend zone, resorted to stalking the other through the windows in order to have a part of each other without risking their friendship but ultimately, it wasn’t enough for either of them.
This was an awesome read—not too long and not too short—it was a perfectly fleshed out romance. It was sweet and funny with plenty of spice and an MMC who was unapologetically adoring when it came to the FMC and I LOVED it! There’s no real angst or drama here, just a wonderfully lighthearted and fun book that is guaranteed not to leave you hanging. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough and hope you give it a try. 4.5 stars
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nichole really knows how to write a sweet and funny story. Noah and Elsie are hilarious and oh so sweet. Elsie is new to the neighborhood. She’s originally from a small town and has those small town values such as taking a treat and meeting your new neighbor…her new neighbor Noah beats her to it and shows up on her porch with cookies and to introduce himself. The funny banter starts from there with these two. Noah thinks the new neighbor is cute and wants to introduce himself not realizing it will change his life. He’s a detective and works a lot so he doesn’t have time for a relationship but that all changes when he meets Elsie. As these two turn from neighbors to friends and eventually to more, they take us on a wild ride. He’s obsessed and she’s obsessed but neither knows. It’s funny just watching them “stalk” each other. Will Noah take the leap and tell Elsie how he feels? Will his job to too much for her? Will Elsie get her happily ever after with the hot cop?? 5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️
It’s safe. I’m just not a fan of the MMC being “obsessed“ with her but not making a move to claim her. And her being afraid of expressing her feelings. I was desperate for that to be over.
I forgot this author has weird position mechanics. I don’t understand how he was standing and had his hand this way while his face was this other way. It’s difficult to visualize where is what. He must be very flexible!
I didn’t love either that he left for days without talking to her because of his job as a detective, which I don’t understand why he investigated a robbery when he specializes in homicide. That’s not obsessing over her.
I’m sorry. But while this book is safe, I wasn’t too into it.
h virgin H doesn’t say, but he’s either virgin or celibate since 19 y.o. No om/ow Push and pull
1. Nearing the end and, while Noah's brother, Trent (book one Hero), has been mentioned in an informational way -- and not even by name, he hasn't made an appearance yet. Neither has Dani, his heroine, and that makes me sad as I absolutely loved them and their book. Honestly, much more so than I do this one and these characters. I just don't feel as invested or connected to Noah and Elsie as I did Trent and Dani.) 2. Not sure why the series page has this listed as book one instead of two. 3. Back to the first thought. Trent, finally by name, once again only appears by a mention and it's eight years later in the epilogue. Where Dani is also only mentioned. This is disappointing.

As expected in a novella, the relationship develops instantly—very much an insta-love/insta-connection dynamic. Unfortunately, the MMC is experienced while the FMC is a virgin. I understand there’s a significant age gap (he’s 39 and she’s in her 20s), but the contrast still feels cliché and unnecessary.
What disappointed me more is the recurring trope of portraying a curvy FMC as sexually inexperienced, as if her body type somehow limits her romantic prospects. That narrative feels outdated and unrealistic. Many plus-size women have active dating lives and rich romantic histories—often more than society’s so-called “standard” ideal. It would be refreshing to see more diverse and authentic representations instead of repeating the same pattern.
POV: Dual, First person MCs: Noah and Elsie OW(M)/Cheating: Nope!! 3rd act breakup: Nope!! Instalove: Yes and it’s so cute and funny. This book is a part of the Accidentally in Love series and focuses on Noah and Elsie. When Elsie decides to spread her wings and take a job offer to teach in a school in Chicago, she isn’t expecting to find the other half in Noah. Noah is a detective and Elsie’s neighbor who has wanted her since the minute that she moved into the neighborhood. They both want each other just as bad as the other but are both worried about pushing for more too soon. I love the two of them together and the life they were able to create. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Elsie just moved to Chicago to work as a 10th grade teacher and her new neighbor across the street is Noah the hot detective. Noah saw Elsie and was instantly obsessed with her and kind of stalked her whenever he got a glimpse of her from across the street. Elsie was also smitten, but they became friends to be in each other's space. Now they are both too chicken to tell the other one that they are in love. But after a month of pining they finally get their chance for a HEA 😊 Instalove , age gap, sweet, steamy, romantic, drama free, fun to read and safe with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍😍
A darling mutual light stalking romance that had me chuckling, swooning and enjoying every minute of Noah and Elsie’s romance. Hilarious first meet-cute, friend zoning regrets, cookies, heated tension, foot in mouth moments, doubts and finally here’s how it’s gonna be alpha vibes. Loved every moment leading to the perfect HEA. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.
I’m a huge fan of Nichole Rose and this story is a perfect example of why!! Always the best meet-cutes and this one does not disappoint!! Noah & Elsie’s story is filled with all the good stuff including some laugh out loud moments!! If this is your first time reading this author be prepared to obsessively read her entire back catalogue!! You won’t be able to resist📚❤️📚
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a fantastic neighbors to lovers romance. It was such a well written story full of everything I love, a lot of witty banter, an entertaining storyline and lots of steam. Elsie and Noah had amazing chemistry and I just couldn’t get enough of these two. And that epilogue was just the perfect way to end the story.
Elsie moved from small town Texas to Chicago for a teaching job where she meets her new neighbor, Chicago police detective, Noah. There's a little bit of stalking going on for both of them. I mean it is not their fault their living room windows line up. Noah's afraid he's been friend zoned. It's a lighthearted, funny story.
