Is Patrick O’Connell gorgeous? Unfortunately, yes. Jet-black hair, smoldering eyes, and those muscles I accidentally saw when my friends dragged me to spy on the fireman calendar photo shoot.
Is Patrick O’Connell also the bane of my existence? Absolutely. He wrecked my dream years ago, and I’ll never forget what he—and his family—took from me.
Now the O’Connells want to dump a big-box store right next to my cozy bookshop. Over my dead body.
Thankfully, I have a the anonymous podcast host of Burning Through the Pages. His voice is pure comfort—like a warm blanket by a crackling fire. He’s clever, kind, funny. With each late-night message, I want more. So much more that I’m almost tempted to ask him to meet face-to-face.
The future of my bookshop is uncertain—but the fate of my heart feels even more fragile.
Book and Ladder is a sweet, closed-door, hidden-identity, enemies-to-lovers romcom—a slow burn with kisses hot enough to need a fire extinguisher. A standalone in The Firemen of Waterford, TN series.
Are you a fan of the movie You’ve Got Mail!? Do you LOVE books!? Ok, now that you’ve obviously answered yes to both of those questions, I have a book rec that’s for you! This sweet hidden identity, enemies-to-more RomCom will have you smiling the whole way through, but you want to know the absolute BEST part of this story? Our MMC is a book obsessed firefighter with a secret bookish podcast.
Daisy runs a quaint little bookshop in town that holds a lot of personal family history within it. Her arch nemesis, Patrick, is an “O’Connell” – party of a family of land developers who unexpectedly want to plow into Waterford, TN and turn their small-town upside down by building a big box chain store next to Daisy’s little bookshop. Patrick and Daisy have a deep-rooted and complicated history. She has good reason to be frustrated with Patrick and her list of dislike towards the man only seems to be growing by the day. Patrick winds up renting the house next door to Daisy, which becomes a big point of contention. That combined with Patrick’s father wanting to develop the land near the bookshop is almost too much for Daisy to handle. Thankfully, she has one unexpected “safe space” and bright spot in her life right now, and that’s the online friendship she’s struck up with the host of the Burning Through the Pages podcast. This man seems tender, understanding, is a great listener and their shared passion for books makes them connect in the most beautiful of ways. When her days become so full of stress caused by Patrick and his family, her friendship with the podcast host is what brings balance to her life.
The back-and-forth emails and DMs are so much fun. You can probably guess where this online friendship heads but watching it all unfold is such a ride. A sweet and lighthearted read with a romance that embodies the act of forgiveness.

Oh my goodness... this story was so fun! a firefighter + bookstore owner with secret identity, enemies to love and You've Got Mail and David/Goliath vibes!? Yes, please...it was a combination I didn't know I needed. But right from the moment we meet these two, I was drawn into Patrick and Daisy's story. I wanted to know exactly what had happened between them in the past to make him the enemy... and I loved that we were given just little bits to keep me wondering and reading on. Despite their history, the chemistry between them is undeniable too. Theirs was definitely a slow burn... but well worth the wait! If you love firemen or smalltown romance with great banter, swoon worthy moments and the perfect blend of heart and humor, this is definitely one to check out. I can't wait to see what will happen next in the series!
Book and Ladder is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the second book in the Firemen of Waterford, TN and while those who have read the previous book will see some familiar characters, I do think this could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Top notch enemies to more, secret identity, You’ve Got Mail vibes (sans any cheating), banter, tension for days, growth, and the best small town vibes. I adore Patrick, a bookish firefighter with a secret podcast, and Daisy, a local bookstore owner dealing with a David and Goliath situation. Their history makes their rift totally believeable while their present brings growth and healing all around. This is one that will leave you saying, “Just one more chapter!” and gives all the feels!
Book and Ladder is the second book in the Firemen of Waterford, TN series, however you can easily read it as a stand alone novel, too.
This book was a wonderful combination of hidden identity, a betrayal hinted at from the past, enemies who fight a pull of attraction to each other, and an underdog bookstore hoping to not be put out of business by a big land developer.
I absolutely loved this story from start to finish with some of my favorite moments being those when Patrick began to realize that he was developing real feelings for the woman who hated him. And I loved the things Patrick did to try to be nice to Daisy and help her and show her that he cared.
The moments that these two spent bonding anonymously were so sweet and helped them to later both understand each other’s hearts better, too. Patrick had a lot of growing to do as he really struggled to stand up to his father and fight not only for Daisy but also for himself. And Daisy had to open her heart in order to understand and forgive Patrick for things in both the past and the present that had affected them both.
This was such a good story and left me with a happy and uplifted feeling for these two.

BOOK and Ladder (The Firemen of Waterford, TN 2) by: Savannah Scott @savannahscott_author
••I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
~My nemesis is about to ruin my life...
-My friends, BOOK and Ladder, is a delightful sclosed-door, hidden-identity, enemies-to-lovers romcom-a slow burn with kisses hot enough to need a fire extinguisher but with none of the spice to burn your eyes. I adored this charming story. It is lovingly and tenderly blended with plenty of witty banter, plenty swoon, sparkling forced proximity, and with such heartfelt chemistry! There is such sizzling tension between heartfelt genuine online connection and real life resentment, that gives the best push and pull. I was absolutely invested for this slow-burn fantastic chemistry between dear characters and watching such growth come along the way for them as well. Added in are small-town and “You’ve Got Mail Vibes,” which had my heart captivated. Most of all, I loved seeing hearts changed, and the difference with letting go of grudges from the past leads in the future! Definitely an adorable story to not miss. Worth the read! 📚❤️🔥
“He talks about books the way I wish someone would talk about me— like I matter.”
•Content: no language, no mild peril/danger, no spice, some past hurt and grudges, some feelings of loneliness, kisses only! Clean-closed door!
“Vinegar and baking soda both have their uses. But put them together and -BOOM! Things start blowin’ up. Maybe that’s all it is with you two. You’ve got chemistry.”
-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This story is a perfect mix of bookish humor, memorable quotes, and a romance that simply ignites. Savannah is a master of the genre! Book and Ladder (Book 2 in The Firemen of Waterford series) can be read as a standalone and is another absolute swoony rom-com that truly moves you. The way Patrick and Daisy develop their relationship is beautiful. Watching them work through their struggles and ultimately find each other was so beautiful, I teared up. Their character growth felt authentic and satisfying, and I couldn't wait to see them earn their happily ever after.
‘Don’t judge a book by its cover and, for the love of all things literary, don’t judge the reader by the book they choose to indulge in.’
Some of my favorite moments of this story are:
The chili cook-off You’ve got mail vibes Patrick’s protectiveness Daisy’s strength through obstacles All the book references and quotes at the beginning of each chapter Patrick and Daisy’s costumes 🥹🫠 Secret identity Daisy’s relationship with her friends and book club Forehead kisses and Patrick’s tenderness Small-town feel The calendar 🔥 The Podcast
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
hidden identity enemies to lovers small town romance fireman FMC closed door romance
This book swept me off my feet with its hidden-identity meets enemies-to-lovers firehouse charm and an epic small-town heart. The late-night podcast chats and bookstore bickering between her and Patrick lit up every page. I laughed out loud, I swooned hard, and I found myself craving every single scene with these two. It is one of those stories that leaves you smiling long after the last page, full of warmth, laughter, and growth. All the swoon, none of the spice, and sparkling chemistry with a clean romance vibe.
Content Warnings: -kisses only -no language -past hurt/grudges
*Thank you to the author for a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
This is the second book in the Firemen of Waterford series. It is a kisses only contemporary romcom that can be read as a standalone story.
This has You've Got Mail vibes with some hidden identity plot points. It is a cute, lighthearted book that allows the reader to escape reality for a little while.
This book does have characters that were introduced in the first book, especially the firemen. I did enjoy this story more than the first one in the series, but both were entertaining.
I was given the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This one started off strong with the enemies to more vibes and the bookish vibes and I am here for it! I loved the bookish chats and bookstore settings. This one was a great example of enemies to more and the angst and depth in that trope. Also loved the fall vibes!
Patrick and Daisy had some great feisty banter and I loved how she tried to resist him but he kept breaking down her walls. Their backstory was interesting and I loved slowly finding out the reasoning behind their enemies vibe. They had this undeniable draw towards each other. I enjoyed that the enemies vibes lasted a while but still built that tension while the deny their feelings. Sometimes stories with this trope don't hold onto the enemies part of their relationship long enough, so I appreciated that. I also loved that Patrick and Daisy bonded over books and the stories they read. There was also so much depth to Patrick's love for books and the relationship with his family because of that. I really enjoyed how that was unpacked.
I love how well the author balanced the romance with the comedy, it was done really well! That bad date chapter LOL!! And the chili cook out scene was fun! Another thing done well was the girl group in Waterford, they were fun and sweet. Their friendship was supportive and caring while also being honest and vulnerable.
Excited to see whose story we get next in this small town romance series!
Favorite parts: - False alarm - Their banter - Date with Franklin - Fireman calendar - Chili judging - Their kiss! - Note found in a book (iykyk) - Coffee delivery - The Grand gesture
Oh. My. Goodness. This book! I honestly dont know how im going to put all my thoughts about this wonderful story into words, but I'll try.
I absolutely loved the enemies-to-lovers in this story. It was so well done and because of that the push and pull and tension between Daisy and Patrick was perfection!
I love the growth that both characters go through during the book. They both learn and grow in different ways, but how that growth happened was expertly written.
I love Daisy's friends and the support that they give her. I also love the other firefighters that Patrick works with and am looking forward to the rest of their stories.
This is the second book in the Firemen of Waterford TN series. It can be read as a stand-alone.
Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
This book had all the bookish things I needed. A small Indie bookshop, a podcaster, book clubs, cute kid readalongs, emails/letters, on top of that a whole slew of firemen in a small town, Yes please. If you love you've got mail you will love this.
Very sweet and fluffy romance☺️ Savannah Scott is definitely the queen of fluffy - she’s perfect if you need an escape type of love story that gives Hallmark vibes!
This book wasn’t my favorite compared to the first book, but mostly because of personal reasons - some of the issues with the MMC felt reminiscent to times I’ve been burned by men in my life, so it makes it harder for me to root for the character, BUT I recognize that is not a dig at the book, but just because of personal reasons!! I did appreciate the ending and how Patrick righted the wrongs from the past and took accountability!
Eeee! Another adorable book by Savannah Scott! Book and Ladder might just be my new favorite of her books!
Daisy (a local bookstore owner) and Patrick (a firefighter) have known each other for years and ever since he stood her up and ruined her future plans, she can hardly stand the sight of him! Too bad, in their small town, their paths cross far too often and especially once he becomes her neighbor! When Daisy starts messaging with her favorite Podcaster, she has no idea who is behind the screen of someone she seems to be falling for!
Oh my! This story was so cute! I love me some enemies to more and this one was so fun! The banter and the snark kept me smiling and the You’ve Got Mail vibes were so fun! These two and their love/hate relationship kept me engaged and loving this story!!
Favorite quotes:
“Don’t tease about Patrick. He’s not a protagonist in a love story. He’s the evil villain. The arch-enemy.” “I don’t know. He’s awfully sweet to be a villain,” Effie defends. “That’s part of his diabolical scheme,” I say plainly. “The looks, the smiles, the unflappable nature. It’s all a part of lulling people into blind affection and denial of his darker nature.”
“Maybe all this research about Darcy and rereading Pride & Prejudice is having an impact. I’m Darcy: impervious, misunderstood. She’s Lizzy: spirited, sure of herself. Only we’ll never court or wed or even stand in the rain while I profess my undying love. No. A romance between me and Daisy Clark is about as likely as an ice storm in Hades.”
“There never was a question about your system, Daisy,” I wink. “Is that flirting? Are you … flirting with me?” “If I ever were to flirt with you, you’d know it.” “If you ever flirt with me, it’ll be the last thing you do,” she fires back.”
“Ugh. He would smell good. Infuriating. Such a distraction tactic.”
What happens when the enemies are really enemies and may not ever become friends much less lovers?
This is the SLOWESTTTTTT burn I have ever read by her. Hidden identity, bookish podcast, book store, firefighter, sworn enemies for decades… there’s a lot to unpack here honestly. For one thing, I really like both of the characters as people. It haunted me that they didn’t like each other. When they finally started to have a bit of proximity the chemistry did the work and the reward was huge. However, you’re going to be burning until the very end. If you like a quick declaration— this one isn’t for you. If LIKE ME, you love the yearn— this one is definitely for you!
Both of them, Daisy and Patrick, had me fuming at 50%. Like open your eye balls! They were giving me every bit of Darcy and Lizzie. Add in their unknowing online conversations— You’ve Got Mail & Problems.
Perfect read for fall. Very small town. Very “wait, he’s actually a great person.”
Indie bookstore owner vs. big box store builder, a You've Got Mail vibe, and the usual Savannah Scott banter and humor. What's not to love? Well, if you ask Daisy, the bookstore owner- everything. Her nemesis since high school is a local firefighter, Patrick, who is adored by all. His dad, however, is the driving force of the big store that will be the end of her dream- running her grandparents bookstore for another generation.
Add in an anonymous podcaster who loves books of all kinds, secret messaging banter, a small town, a friend group that keeps things lively, a very slow burn tension and romance brewing, SO MUCH humor, and you are in for a treat! I love the fun quotes to begin each chapter, too.
"He talks about books the way I wish someone would talk about me-- like I matter."
This is the second book in the series, but it is a stand alone story as well. It is the Fireman of Waterford series, but is much more that muscle clad firefighters on a calendar; her characters all feel so real and have a way of connecting you to them through the issues they face and the way resolution comes.
"Vinegar and baking soda both have their uses. But put them together and -BOOM! Things start blowin' up. Maybe that's all it is with you two. You've go chemistry."
This was such a stinking cute story! Enemies to lovers with hidden identities through email.. he’s a fire fighter, she’s a bookstore owner.. need I say more? The banter was great, the chemistry was great. I love a quirky small town where the side characters are just as fun :) (kissing only, no spice)
This book is absolutely adorable! I loved the romance so much — Patrick and Daisy are the cutest. I especially enjoyed the pen pal twist — they’re online friends but have a bit of tension in real life, which made their dynamic even more fun.
Daisy being a bookstore owner was such a perfect touch. I loved how passionate she is about books! The small-town vibe was also wonderful — there’s such a strong sense of community that it made me wish this town actually existed.
Patrick is the ultimate book boyfriend — sweet, caring, and totally swoon-worthy. I can’t wait for the rest of the characters in this series to get their own stories. Go check out this charming small-town romance — the chemistry is amazing!
A very cute enemies to more story. A firefighter who loves books and a bookstore owner who's only grumpy for him. I really liked the storyline and the bookish elements throughout. I especially enjoyed the ending of the story.
I feel like now was the perfect time to read it, as it had a sweet Hallmark feel to it and the coming of winter in the storyline.
*thank you to the author for a complimentary copy. All thoughts are my own.
This is book 2 in the Firemen of Waterford, TN series. No worries, it lives up to the first book!
If you like You’ve Got Mail, this book is for you!! There are so many tropes from that movie in this book - she owns a bookstore, he loves books, he is from a big box company/family, secret identity, online relationship blossoming, they hate each other in real life, and more! The best part about this one that’s different is that they have a long past that started with an incredible friendship. 😍
Patrick loves books but very few people know it. He doesn’t fit the mold that his father wants him to be. Daisy was betrayed by Patrick in high school and hasn’t forgiven him still. Patrick and Daisy have amazing banter, high tension, and he falls first. The growth that these two have is incredible. Savannah created so much depth to their actions and hurt in such a believable way. It was also so beautiful to watch them learn more about the other and themselves. The way the walls start to come down between them online and in real life are wonderful.
One thing that I love about Savannah‘s books are the Easter eggs. This book showed us flashes of the couple from book one and how they are doing now in their relationship. They were also big hints into who the firefighter and his romantic interest could be for book 3. It makes me so excited!
Enemies to lovers with BIG bookish energy? Yes, please. Savannah Scott has done it again with Book & Ladder, book two in the Waterford, Tennessee series — and I am obsessed. 😍
Daisy Clark is a determined small-town bookstore owner just trying to protect her cozy corner of Waterford… Patrick O’Connell is the charming firefighter whose family is building a big box apartment store right next door…
They clash. They argue. They spark.
This book has got fall festival magic, anonymous emails, “you’ve got mail” energy, and SO much tension that I was kicking my feet through half the book. The banter? Immaculate. The chemistry? OFF. THE. CHARTS. 💥
Small town feels ✔️ Firefighter heartthrob ✔️ Bookstore queen energy ✔️ Perfect autumn romance ✔️
If you love sweet enemies-to-lovers with all the swoon, Book & Ladder needs to be on your fall TBR like… yesterday. Happy Release Day, Daisy & Patrick! 🧡🔥📚
⸻
Things I LOVE about Book & Ladder 🍁❤️ • Bookstore + Firefighter romance • “You’ve Got Mail” vibes • Secret bookish podcast • Small-town Waterford charm • Fall festival scenes • Banter that cuts and then heals • Enemies-to-lovers tension that burns • Family dynamics + community drama • Slow-burn
*I received an ARC of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.*
Daisy is the local book shop owner and town sweetheart. The only person she is not sweet towards is Patrick, local firefighter and secret podcast host. Daisy blames Patrick for an incident that happened in their past and she just can’t let it go. To make matters worse, Patrick moves in next door to Daisy. She can’t get rid of this guy! Sparks fly between the two and everyone around them sees it. Can Daisy let go of the past and see Patrick has changed? Can the two ever become friends or maybe more?
What I loved: 🔥 There’s so much chemistry between Daisy and Patrick! 🔥 Small town vibes 🔥 Patrick’s love for books 🔥 The anonymous emails 🔥 Nosy neighbors 🔥 Supportive friends who also tell it like it is 🔥 The Fire Bros 🔥 The epilogue (Savannah, how? How do you write such amazing epilogues?!)
This is the second book in the series, but could be read as a standalone. I loved everything about this book and it is definitely a new Savannah Scott favorite for me. Be sure to the grab this book if you love romcoms, small town vibes, firefighters, books, and sizzling chemistry.
I was given a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own. ♥️
I have been a Savannah Scott fan for years, literally since I started posting on here and I am so glad I still get to read hers books all these years later. They are truly the best, sweet romance reads that make you giggle and kick your feet the entire time and Book and Ladder is no different. Dare I say it may be my new favorite Savannah Scott book?!
Patrick, a local firefighter, and Daisy, the local bookstore owner, have known each other forever and are basically oil and water. They had a situation in their past and Daisy has not forgiven him for what went down. Even though they claim to not like each other, their chemistry is palpable and everyone in town can feel it. Daisy is about to lose her bookstore to Patrick’s family of developers and he wants to help her save it if she will trust him.
This closed door romance was so sweet and perfect for your fall TBR! Book and Ladder is the second book in the Fireman of Waterford TN series and I can’t wait for the next in the series!
Oh my goodness this book was adorable and left me with a smile on my face. There is definitely a You’ve Got Mail vibe going on that was just the most lovely. Daisy and Patrick were the perfect enemies (on one person’s part) to lovers.
Patrick, I mean, you can’t help but love all these firefighters of Waterford. They have such a fun dynamic together. And Patrick with all of his bookishness and kindness. He was just the best.
Daisy. She’s a tough one. She holds onto a grudge like nobody’s business. I’m thankful that she was able to grow and learn about what is important. She had some difficult things happen to her throughout this book but I’m glad she stood strong and was able to find the positive and ultimately have her happily ever after.
This series has been such a joy to read and I can’t wait to read about the other friends in this series.
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
CW: closed door (kisses only), a bit of family stress
“ I despise him, but can’t deny the way he makes my blood boil and my skin tingle. It’s a mess”~ Daisy
“Whatever’s between us already burnt to the ground by the time I showed up with any interest in saving what’s left” ~ Patrick
Book and Ladder was a great enemies to more Rom-Com with heavy You’ve Got Mail Vibes. The main characters Patrick and Daisy had troubled past history (non romantic) and that has carried over into adulthood so that despite the sparks and undeniable chemistry they have the hurt and anger Daisy has runs deeper.
This one is full of character growth, fantastic bookish references, great side characters, flirting and sparks and a first kiss that will give you goosebumps!
I cannot wait for the next book in this series (hoping it’s Greyson I love a grumpy MMC)
Thank you to the author for an advance review copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
Book and Ladder is a sweet, delightful, enemies to more, romantic comedy. Start with a fiery bookstore owner and a hunky firefighter. Add in a strong love of books, sizzling chemistry, first class banter, and “You’ve Got Mail” vibes, and you’ve got a romance that’s burning up the pages.
I love Patrick and Daisy! It was fun seeing their genuine, heartfelt connection online in contrast to the tension and verbal sparring that took place every time they were in the same vicinity. I like that we initially don’t know exactly what Patrick did to hurt Daisy. It’s hinted at and revealed over time. Daisy is feisty, stubborn, kind, and caring—but she definitely knows how to hold a grudge. Patrick is playful, flirty, and full of good intentions, but he can’t seem to stop falling into old patterns. Daisy has to decide if she can look past the version of Patrick she’s held onto in order to see the man he’s become. Patrick has to stop straddling the fence and trying to please his dad long enough to fight for what actually matters to him—her.
If you like a slow burn, small town romance with lots of humor, quick witted banter, character growth, and a top tier grand gesture, be sure to add this one to your TBR.
Thank you Savannah Scott for the advance copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“I’m Darcy: impervious, misunderstood. She’s Lizzy: spirited, sure of herself. Only we’ll never court or wed or even stand in the rain while I profess my undying love. No. A romance between me and Daisy Clark is about as likely as an ice storm in Hades.”
“The emotions that ambushed me in Moss and Maple haven’t dimmed. If anything, it’s like I yanked the cork on a champagne bottle—feelings for Daisy exploding everywhere in a sticky, all-consuming mess. One-sided as they obviously are, they’re still overpowering and impossible to shove aside.”
“My mama always used to say, ‘If it ain’t dead, there’s still life in it.’ You’re not dead and neither is she. Embers, man. Embers. Besides, isn’t all that electricity between the two of you the same as sparks? Correct me if I’m wrong, but sparks and embers can be lethal.”
“Ugh. He would smell good. Infuriating. Such a distraction tactic.”
“I feel her nearness as if she’s touching me. Of course, if she did touch me, it would probably be to slap me across the face or slit my throat.”
Whenever I hear Savannah Scott has a new booking coming out, my hope and expectations shoot through the roof. Every time, without fail, the book exceeds all my expectations and lands itself on my list of books to read again and again. Book and Ladder is no exception to this rule. It was fabulous!
The books focuses on Patrick O’Connell and Daisy Clark. She knows Patrick is her enemy because he stood her up on an important day in high school. He knows he let Daisy down all those years ago, but he can’t help but be drawn to her. Their story is slow burn, but Scott is a master at bringing the swoon to even the simplest moment.
The story has strong You’ve Got Mail vibes, which I loved. It was so fun to see how Scott tweaked the premise to make it her own. I loved how she reimagined the story. I also felt strong Pride and Prejudice vibes throughout Patrick and Daisy’s relationship. It was subtle but so well done.
Patrick was tall, dark, and handsome and so dreamy. I loved how layered his character was and how much growth he had throughout the story. You can totally see why Daisy fell for him without actually meaning to. His grand gesture was so perfect.
Daisy was fabulous. She was so caring and kind to everyone… everyone but Patrick. It was so fun to see her fight her feeling and have her own Elizabeth Bennett moment. I loved how stubborn and determined she was, until she wasn’t. It was so fun to watch her fall.
I adored everything about this book. It was the perfect addition to Savannah Scott’s Firemen of Waterford TN series.
Thank you to the author for the gifted copy. All the love for this book is my own.
It’s not secret that Patrick and Daish don’t get along. Life throws some curveballs their way, which makes changing course hard. Especially when that means letting go of past grudges in order to let new ideas sprout.
I loved their email and DM correspondence, especially when it wouldn’t have taken much to figure out who the other person was.
Favorite parts -the grand gesture was amazing -chili cook out -the book club rescue -The Princess Bride references- -Patrick’s view of Mr. Darcy. -how everyone encouraged their relationship
Favorite Quotes: “Can’t help being entertained by the fireworks show that always seems to blow whenever you two are within fifteen feet of one another.”
“You drive me crazy, Daisy Clark.” A shiver ripples through me. “And you return the favor, Patrick O’Connell.”
By midnight, the two men blur together—the one who broke me and the one who healed me by becoming everything I never believed he could be. Same voice. Same heart. Patrick.
This was another fabulous book by Savannah Scott! I loved every second of it. You have laugh out loud moments, swoony banter, sizzling chemistry, and the best romance.
Both of our main characters were flawed, realistic, and well rounded. I feel like you don’t see many MMCs these days that are vulnerable and I absolutely love that we got to see that here.
The way these two characters built their relationship and took the time to understand each other gave them a strong solid foundation. I just love these two and this story!
I received a voluntary ARC through BookFunnel for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
No Spice (kissing is as far as it goes) No Explicit Language No Violence/Gore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A great read. Would read again! Definitely recommend.
Okay I adored this book. I always love Savannah’s romances…there always sweet and cozy. So I always know I’m gonna have a great time reading one and that I’ll have a smile on my face. But this one took me by such surprise in the best way. I was not prepared for how my heart would ache for Patrick and Daisy! These two had a little bit of a past and there was a grudge there but like watching Patrick yearn for this girl…y’all I could feel it in my bones. My heart also went out to Daisy so hard because of what she was going through. This one has such great conflict that made my heart ache so much.
This book also made me so so thankful for my local indie bookstore. Daisy owns a bookstore in a small town and a big box store is coming next door which could cause her to close. The discussion of the community she built through that store just reminded me of the community Court Street Books has built here in my town. It made me so thankful for the friends I’ve made and the people I’ve met through the store and all the fun events I get to be a part of because of my local indie.
This is also a sweet and cozy fall romance and perfect for this time of year! Thank you Savannah for the ARC!
