Demetrius Cannon had everything to lose and nothing to gain if he allowed the society to walk all over him. He was determined to eliminate every threat to his family’s bloodline, even if it meant going up against a group more powerful than he could ever be.
…and it was time I took it all back.
The Broker of Assassins
I bled for the Collective…
Forever James had the world at her fingertips, but couldn’t fathom what real freedom looked like. She was determined to break away from the society her family had been loyal to for generations, even if it meant she died trying.
…and it was time I made them bleed for me.
In the Echo of Forever, Demetrius and Forever find themselves on a collision course with fate at the helm. No matter which way they turn, it all leads back to them.
Demetrius Cannon was introduced in book 7 of the Mafia Misfits series, and characters from that series appears in this. However, this novel can be read as a standalone.
At first, I thought there was no real connection between Echo and Forever or Echo as Demetrius, but Asia had me fooled. The way she layered this story with the mob family, the secret society, and all those little breadcrumbs that eventually tie everything together? Chef’s kiss. I usually catch on to twists early, but this one got me.
I also really liked how we met Demetrius in the Mafia Misfits series. Back then, he felt like a mystery. We didn’t get to fully understand his vibe, but now everything makes sense. Seeing those familiar faces like Violet and O’Sullivan pop back up, and how those connections from the Mafia Misfits world tied into this story, made it even better. Watching Forever step into that world and seeing how she handled it was so interesting.
Echo being the one who wanted nothing to do with the society, and Forever being fully in it, added such a great push and pull. Their development together was done so well. And just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist hit. Another secret. Another layer. It was like, wait, there’s more?
Asia Monique really built a world here. The political power plays, the mothers’ hidden motives, the hierarchy within the society — it all just kept stacking and pulling me deeper. The ending though… I need to know if there’s a second book because it definitely felt like there’s more to come.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me. Complex, twisty, and deeply addictive.
The way Asia created a world that captured my attention immediately is impressive. The plot twist…..I did not see that coming at all!!! The way she wove these intricate details to create a bigger picture was excellent. The connection between these two characters was so evident and looking back at it idk how I missed it. I was glad to see old friends and I’m looking forward to seeing where she takes us next. Listen pick it up, you deserve to read it!
I wasn't sure I would make it through this book bc the trigger warnings threw me and I was a lil confused in the beginning. BUT, things started to come together and it was honestly unlike anything I've read (in a good way). 3.75 for me
This was a great story. A little bit of a slow build up that had me a bit confused initially (user error I’m sure). But I think the slow builds are true to Asia’s style. It’s needed and doesn’t last long before the story takes off! this felt like a different spin on a “it was always you/second chance romance”. It was mysterious and I kept waiting to see how things were going to play out as puzzle pieces started coming together. The romance between Echo and Forever….🔥🔥🔥. It was passionate & all-consuming yet tender & soft at the same time. Echo, Mr. “Your wants are my needs”, was the perfect book bae. The level of care & concern, patience, vulnerability and protection showed to Forever was palpable. It made it so that Forever felt safe with him even when it didn’t make sense. She was also a great FMC. Headstrong & independent, but putty when it came to her man. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger but the overall story is incomplete. So I’m curious to see who is the focus of the next season installment and how will the story continue. I also wish that I had re-read the Mafia Misfit series book that Echo first appeared in because I forgot how he became introduced to O’Sullivans.
The deeper we get into this ever expanding universe with a growing cast and side characters, the stories remain flawlessly written and interwoven in a way it almost seems like everything was planned from the beginning. I hope Asia knows that the deeper we go the better it gets and the character development, intimacy, romance and darkness is amazing. I’ve been reading Asia for a long time now and this series and spin offs are showing her growth as an Author !
Needless to say I loved this and can’t wait to see what happens next and with whom..
So many family secrets and everyone trying to climb on other shoulders to stand taller. There was many times I had my mouth wide open like… I know you lying.
Echo is such a gem real lover boy. Forever had me feeling so sad for her and all the aspects of her life she couldn’t control. She fought so hard and Echo made sure he was there every step even when she didn’t realize.
This was such a well written story and left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what else will happen in Everwood. This story definitely touched on things that can be considered current times with the prejudice and thinking one person or group is better than the next and treating them accordingly. It’s truly sick how some people think and act as if one human life holds more weight or value than the next.
Forever and Demetrius were a true match. They did not play about each other. He was willing to handle anybody who harmed his forever be that friend or foe and I loved that for her. Their second chance at love came with much more than they could ask or imagine. The secrets that were revealed and are still to come have me hoping for more of the story to come soon. The side characters are all intriguing in their own right and there were some cameos from some of my favorite characters from the mafia series. This was well worth the read.
The Echo of Forever has been living rent-free in my head since I turned the last page! Asia Monique wrote the hell out of this story! It's dark, moody, and dripping with twists that had me clutching my chest every other chapter. But in true Asia fashion, Forever and Echo’s love was inevitable, undeniable, and worth every storm they weathered.
Demetrius? Whew. That man is the blueprint. His patience, his intention, and the way he loved could honestly be a masterclass. And Forever, listen, she was not to be played with, and she did not play about her man.
Between the external forces clawing to keep them apart and the internal battles they had to overcome, their journey was both hard-fought and beautifully bittersweet. This wasn’t just a romance, it was a testament to resilience, passion, and the kind of love that echoes—forever.
I am excited for this series to continue and I love this darker side of Asia's writing.
Asia Monique one of the most underrated romance writers out there, she writes the MMC that everyone one to read to a FMC that everyone wants to be and loved. I’m so happy that i discovered this author cause she really gives me everything that i wish on a romance story.
Echo and Forever were sweet, determine and lovely. I swear i was smiling and kicking my feet to every interaction they have and how protective they were over each other without falling on patronizing or infantilation.
Now if you sensible to self harm and themes like human trafficking, be careful ready this book cause it deals with this in a heavy way, i’m happy with the way Ms Monique handle all of it, i like that she still keep Forever as sensible in the finale cause this whole situation is really a process beyond falling in love.
Overall one of my favorite read of the year without a doubt!
I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the story. This book has been on TBR for a while and I’m happy I finally got around to reading it. However, I didn’t know it ends on a cliffhanger or basically unresolved. Not quite sure how to describe that. Since Forever and Echo did have a HEA. But all the other things were left undone.
This was a 5 star read because of the unique storyline. But the wordiness caused me to loss interest around the 75% mark. I know this was a romance, but the rejectors and Collective story was way more interesting. I was locked into the mystery behind the Cannons and the skin trade. So I’m rating a 3 because I wanted the conclusion and Solomon’s head on a platter.
Most interesting book I’ve read this month but one major point had me conflicted. The city of Everwood was giving me Hunger Games vibes and I could not reconcile that existing in the same world with the O’Sullivans. Everwood felt like Fantasy but the Osullivan’s just feel like a regular ol American crime family in Philly. Every time Violet/Finn/Gaia/Lucia were mentioned it took me so far out of the story. But I loved how intricate the lines between Echo and Forever were. EVERYTHING was connected in some way or another.
Just when you thought this universe couldn’t get any better…
…it does! This novel was a great continuation of, but also pivot from, the Mafia Misfits series. Forever gives us more of the badassery we love but takes us on a different journey of self discovery while untangling memories, secrets, and harsh truths while her Echo supports and protects her every step of the way. He was the epitome of “I don’t play about that one” and I loved every word of it. I’m excited to see where this series takes us in the future.
Wow! Was NOT expecting this plot after reading about Meechie in Finn & Violet’s story. I’ve read several authors, this year, about mafias and organized crime.
I’m a critical reader and can honestly say that this writer’s take is very unique. There were a LOT of emotions and a lot of character building.
Why 4 ⭐️s? Much like the other series from which this book spun from, sometimes the plot twists got a bit confusing and rushed. Plus, a lot of adds (like the fight club) made it longer than it needed to be.
Wow another great read with so many moving parts! I definitely recommend reading Sinful King from the Mafia Misfits series first, since that’s where Demetrius is first introduced. Forever and Echo’s story was everything. Individually they’re both powerful in their own right but together they’re unstoppable. The family secrets that came to light had my head spinning at every turn. I love how Asia weaves all the pieces together so seamlessly, and I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds in the next book. This definitely isn’t the end of Forever and Echo’s story!
This was so good. I loved every thing about this story. I love when there is suspense mixed into a romance. The secret society plot was intriguing and kept me on edge of my seat. The writing is amazing and the pacing is done perfectly. It was hard to put down. I would be at work thinking about this story. This may be my favorite read of the year we will see.
Asia Monique is one of my favorite authors. She is in my top 3. She can do no wrong in my eyes. I enjoyed this story and can hardly wait for the next book in this series but also Mafia Misfits 8. I feel like she just gave us a glimpse of the connection at the end of this book. She is a genius…for sure. Echo and Forever gave me Enzo and Lucia vibes with their strong connection. I was here for it.
What’s crazy is I put this book on my calendar to be reminded of it’s release date, however I never purchased or remember what about it intrigued me. I loved this book a world with two opposite dynamics, that could’ve kept two people apart due to their beliefs, upbringing and the ones around them. However for Demetrius and forever that didn’t matter and I think that’s what I loved the most about it!

I didn't know what to expect but this journey was one I'm happy I got to experience. The first twist had me screaming and had my poor mind on edge every time I felt a twist coming.
Watching Forever find her way back to her Echo really was an emotional rollercoaster, especially with the way Echo showed up for her at every turn. My only complaint is that the book ended. That's it that's all
Demetrius was not playing about his Forever!! Loved this book. There was nothing he wouldn't or didn't do for her. Thank you for including favorites from other books. I can't wait to read what's up next for Everwood. Thanks Asia for giving us an escape for a little while.
I am a fan of Asia's writing and this book did not disappoint The character development, the storyline, the drama, trauma, and redemption of love FOREVER. YEAH, this was an amazing read. I look forward to more of their story and the dismantling of the skin trade. I will ECHO in my mind until the next installment.
Asia is truly in a league of her own when it comes to mafia stories. The depth that she gives each character is *chef’s kiss*. Demetrius and Forever’s love was so good! It was so many twists and turns in this story, it captured my attention after the first page. I can’t wait to read the next story.
There is a lot going on with this Secret Society so highlight as you go to keep up :) The bond between Echo & Forever was undeniable and beautiful. I enjoyed their story and can’t wait to see what happens next.
Asia Monique does it again! The Echo of Forever is hands down my favorite body of work from Asia Monique! Her pen game is unmatched. I cannot wait to see how Echo and Forever’s story continues.
Asia!!! I LOVE the way you tell a story. Well thought out, layers, twists, drama. The TWIST in this book sent me!! I can’t wait to reread the entire series right before the next book!
Love how he loved her and was willing to bet it all on teaching her how to love him in return. This book was great and I’m looking forward to additional books to finish an amazing rebirth of love.
