Six outlaws… Two bounty hunters… and a trail of blood across the high desert.
When bounty hunter Kenny Killion rides into Bisbee, he isn’t looking for trouble—just the next wanted poster. But when the High Desert Gang guns down two bank clerks and vanishes with the gold from Tucson First National Bank, Kenny and his rough-edged partner, Bulldog, take up the trail with guns loaded and grudges simmering.
What starts as a bounty turns into a blood oath as the two hunters blaze across a savage landscape of corrupt towns, Apache country, and burned-out homesteads.
From a deadly jailbreak in Tombstone and through Mexican Badlands and sandstorms that can strip a man to the bone, Kenny tracks his quarry with relentless grit—each kill a reminder of the family he lost in the war, and the violence that still haunts him.
But the High Desert Gang isn’t just any bunch of outlaws—they're connected, ruthless, and willing to cut down anyone in their path. When the hunters become the hunted, Kenny must how much blood is justice worth? And when the smoke clears, will there be anything left of the man behind the gun?
Fast-paced, violent, yet deeply human, Kenny Killion and the High Desert Gang is a Western for readers who like their heroes scarred, their villains vile, and their justice served hot from the barrel of a Colt.
Travis is a massive fan of all that the western era has to offer. As a kid he couldn't get enough of the classic western TV series of the time and forever had his head buried in a western novel, taking him back to that magical time when your word was your bond and a man was measured by his loyalty to the brand and his courage during adversity.
It was actually a pretty good story. A couple of knit picky things that bugged me. The bounty on high desert gang members was $500 each but then it was $300 and then back to $500. The other thing is that they were on the way to Las Cruces from Arizona. That means heading east. The girl came from the east, heading west to Las Cruces yet they met her 10 miles past their destination of Las Cruces.
To be a credible tale the geography needs to have a minimal degree of accuracy. This story lost my Interest when the characters travelled through Arizona by horseback faster and easier than it can be done today on highways with a Cadillac.
In the unforgiving terrain of the Arizona Territory, bounty hunters Kenny Killion and his loyal partner Bulldog pursue the notorious High Desert Gang with relentless determination. The criminals, responsible for the brutal Tucson First National Bank massacre that left two bank clerks and every customer dead, vanished with their bloody prize of gold. Tracking the outlaws through harsh, sun-scorched landscapes and treacherous Apache lands, Kenny and Bulldog face a gauntlet of dangers—battling vicious comancheros, confronting masked highway robbers, and engaging desperate escaped prisoners. Their pursuit is a crucible of grit and gunfire, and uncompromising hunt where surrender is never an option.
This has been a great series and well worth reading. The story is well written and great adventures and characters throughout. Can not wait for the next book
Kenny and Bulldog track down the High Desert Gang, one outlaw at a time, which takes them south of the border for one and back north for the rest. Good Book.
