Steve Dant is a military veteran who has gone through some shit in his life. He has been an addict. His parents showed him no affection growing up. His beloved aunt he was kept from her. He has a hard time making connections with people and is really just weird I guess. One day he takes notice of a woman at the post office and is inexplicably drawn to her. One day she leaves her keys at the post office and he grabs them, follows her, makes a copy of them and returns them to the post office.

Later he enters her world by going into her apartment and walking among her things.

Christine Timberlake, a mystery woman, her ex-husband has hired a detective to find their daughter and witnesses Steve Dant in her apartment. The detective assumes that Steve is her boyfriend.

Petra is the daughter who has withdrawn into herself and shows no emotion and doesn't speak. Christine has hidden their daughter Petra away from her father because she believes Petra withdrew into herself because her father sexually assaulted her.

All of these lives intertwine and have unexpected outcomes and healing outcomes for all involved.

Awesome. What a fast paced, intriguing story! I loved the web of characters and how every single thing that happened tied into the ultimate climax. I thought the ending was unexpected and unusual, maybe not the way I would have written it. None of the characters were truly likeable, which presented an interesting dynamic of superficially aloof but deep characters.
