HOT UNDER THE COLLAR, BUT WITH A COLD SHOULDEROlivia thought Damien's wealth and connections would be the answer to her daughter's failing health. And Damien thought Olivia would be the answer to his control problem. But while her scent used to keep his wolf side at bay, now her being near only stirs up memories of his dead lover Julia. His hot and cold treatment is leaving Olivia unsure about her daughter's future. Just when things can't seem to get worse, another werewolf, Silas, wants to be top dog and is determined to take Damien out. He has no qualms about using Olivia to do it, too.
While there is potential in this series, it remains to have a lot of back and forth, confusion, assumptions, and drama. It turns out this enemy is family with Damien, but that doesn't mean it's safe to assume anything. The press aren't helping as they hound for information on Olivia and spin everything for more sensationalization and disregard the truth. Damien, on the other hand, seems to keep his arrogance while slowly becoming more human as he shows true consideration and care for Olivia, even if she doesn't see it the same way at first. They are still drawn together unexpectedly though, leaving more questions with this unusual connection and ghost of the past. There's no news as to when the next volume will be published either, leaving this hanging for who knows how long and not expecting a resolution that soon given how slowly these first two volumes have gone with their paces.

After volume one I decided to give this series one more chance because I was interested in some things well I am now at the point where I do not care. Olivia and Damien are complete idiots and I don’t care about them or their romance. Silas is one of the worst villains I’ve ever read in a novel and that’s saying something. The only redeeming things are that Olivia’s daughter whose name I forgot at the moment is cute and I like Max. Max actually deserves to be in a better story where he won’t lose out to a boring idiot In a triangle because clearly they want you to root for Olivia and Damien which I don’t. Just trust me and don’t pick up this series especially at this price point it’s not worth twenty cents nevermind dollars.
I'm in agreement with another reviewer--Olivia needs to go back to Max, the reporter. But I actually think she's going to stay with Damien too. Because it's that kind of book.
