My sad, screwed up life seems to finally be turning around when I land the position of assistant to gorgeous, famous architect, Jude Lazarus. Desperate to catch his eye, I succumb to an epic ugly-duckling-to-swan makeover. And boy does it work. Big time. But it also causes Lazarus to instantly change from sweet and protective to dark, dysfunctional, and cruel. Is having Lazarus hot for me a good thing or a fast track to my own destruction?
I'm a city girl who writes fun, sexy, entertaining novellas meant to take your mind off your troubles for a while. I have an adorable husband, a fish named Frank, and a fat black cat with codependency issues.
I really like this storyline and the characters in total. Separately, they wouldn't work together but they all work really well together. I like it to the point that I'm mad that I have to wait for the 5th and final book to come out. I was given the first 4 books for review and I will definitely be picking the 5th up when it comes out. I love how spunky Michaela is. She ran away from home and lived on the streets, put herself through college and is working on getting a job for architecture. She takes the old saying of "if you get knocked down, get right back up" to a whole new level. I'm not sure how I feel about Jude. Jude runs a very successful architecture firm. He is insanely hot and successful definitely but he seems conflicted to say the least.
I have tried to type out more to my review but every time I do, I give spoilers and don't even mean to so I will leave it at this. Serial books are the bane of my existence for this exact reason; that they are never all out when I start to read a series. LOL One thing about them is that they always keep me coming back which is the point of them. I highly recommend getting these books but wait until the 5th book comes out so you don't go crazy like I do.
OH yeah, Jude Lazarus is playing with fire when it comes to his assistant Michaela, Mickey to her friends. Watching her turn the tables on him and his reaction to those tables being turned is incredible. It was great seeing her lose herself in the passion of creating something. That seems to be what she is definitely meant to do. It is a good thing. What do you do when you get fired from your job? You run away as fast as you can. Take only what is necessary. Then take a great fall. If you want to watch Mickey get the upper hand on Jude Lazarus, read this novella in the series. These are fairly short stories. They're incredible!

She gets a make-over which changes everything. I loved the background of the characters in the last book but I have to admit that I loved the storyline more in this book.
She's beautiful now and Lazaris (and Travis) have an eye for her now. Lazarus is engaged to be married and doesn't know how to control himself and Travis admits to his girlfriend and herself that he's in love with her.
I just thing it's a shame that they only notice her when they meet her new version. I'm sure that it's just the way it supposed to go, but the romantic in me didn't like the fact that an ugly duckling doesn't have any succes...
I'm giving this book 4 stars because there were a lot more sparks in this book and I'm hoping for a lot more fireworks in the next few books!
I flew this book, I could no put it down it was so good. I really enjoy reading about the characters. I am still up in the air if I like the idea of Mickey and Jude together. A small part of me hopes for Travis and Mikey, but I do love Liz's character.
I'm seeing a plot here, the books end suddenly leaving you wanting more. Well I am lucky I have 4 books, but rumor has it that there is a 5th so I am sure I will be cussing and yelling at the end of book 4 when I am left with a cliff hanger.
I thing these books are very well written, they have a good overall tone to them and all characters are relate-able in one way or another.
After landing a job as assistant to architect extraordinaire, Jude Lazarus, and getting a makeover, life for Mickey is looking up. But lust and love have something to say about that. Will her new look help her career? Or will she wind up like Jude's other assistants - out the door?
I thoroughly enjoyed this next installment in The Position series. Can't wait to see where the next one leads us.
So okay, Michaela is now a swan. And Lazarus can't seem to take his eyes off her newly make-over assistant. But what I don;t get about Lazarus was what is really with him. Like the darkness that revolves him isn't really well established? Like is he on a kinky stuff? Or is he on illegal something? I hate that Michaela easily give in to her sexual desires. Like girl calm your nerves please.
Each one gets better and better and Jude is just sexy, but he seems confused on what he wants or is it he knows what he wants but should he. We also see a different side to Travis as well and I'm not sure if it's true or just a convenience. This series is so awesome.
