Snowed In at Holly Hill Cabin: A FFM Forced Proximity Winter Romance

Rate this book
Some storms you weather, and others you welcome.

In recent months, Mia and Ethan have been surviving, not thriving. With illnesses on both sides of the family weighing heavy on their shoulders, they’re desperate to escape and reconnect. A charming cabin in the snowy wilderness of Holly Hill promises the perfect couples retreat. But when a blizzard traps them inside with their enchanting host, Juniper, their getaway for two becomes a sparkling stay for three.

As the snow piles up outside, things heat up by the log fire, where innocent cuddles and conversation swirl into something more sultry. With Mia’s first experience of intimacy with a woman, and the couple’s first time inviting someone else into their relationship, they each grapple with the fear of moving too far, too fast.

The stars seem to align to give all three of them this perfect storm of playful connection, but will the magic of this winter haven win them over, or will they call things off before they even get to the good part?

Snowed in at Holly Hill Cabin is part of the Holly Hill Winter Novella Collection, a series of interconnected, standalone romance novellas.

I am not normally a fan of FFM stories, but this novella had just the right balance between story line, angst and spice that I found myself enjoying it.
There were times during the story where I questioned the characters choices, but the joy of a shorter story is you dont have to wait long to find out the whys.
This is a perfect story to snuggle under a thick blanket and devour in a day

Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you’re looking for a fun, sweet, cozy, sexy book you can finish in one sitting? This is it. The cozy snowed-in cabin in the woods, full of low-light and the smell of baking pizza, was a setting this upstate NY reader appreciates. The characters are lovable and relatable, and I appreciated that the characters’ relationship simmered for a bit before everything came together. Loved the forced proximity trope for this book, and though I don’t usually read FFM romance, it worked for me because it felt like a “meant to be” situation for this couple who had been through so much in their everyday life. Novella length and a galloping plot meant I couldn’t put it down. Check it out!

A cosy, steamy snowed in novella! It is what it says on the tin a FFM forced proximity winter romance. It was fun to be able to read as a British couple honeymoon/ holidaying in America. The banter and chemistry between this trio was so funny, spicy and sweet! I highly recommend for a quick holiday read 🩵 This is apart of a collaboration/ series and they're all such fun short 'n spicy reads!

This is the first time that I have read a mff spicy romance novel and it was done well. The author's writing is brilliant and I didn't feel at all uncomfortable reading it. I loved the place setting in the novella which added to the cosy vibes. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I also loved the great mix of characters and the pacing was just right. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

Snowed in at Snowcap Cafe by Jennifer Aline

Is part of a 3 book series of Novellas that can be read alone but they all have some characters you may recognise from the other books.

Snowed in at Snowcap Cafe by Jennifer Aline is about sunshine Al who works in a coffee shop that used to be her parents and she gets snowed in with uptight Luca...Lois...I mean Liam 😅😂

Snowed in with Ski Patrol by Rachel Kaye

Is about super grumpy Wren and her rescuer Nico and he gorgeous dog Hugo! She is on a mission and needs saving but gets saved by the last person she expected. This is a great second chance romance.

Snowed in at Holly Hill Cabin by Harriet Banter

Is about a couple Ethan and Mia who have had a challenging time and are finally going away for a break where they meet Juniper who they both have a spark with.

Such a fun novellas, My kryptonite is any books set in a ski resort! Having done a ski season when younger and always having loved watching ski Sunday 🤣

So these were great to get the winter ski vibe throughout all of them, whether it was the coffee shop, the Skiing or in a beautiful cabin. There is something for everyone.

All books also mention some hard topics such as death and PTSD but it was interesting how each book handled it slightly differently but each brilliantly!

Fab short reads and a great refresh before you dive back into a big series.

Thank you for sending me an arc for an honest review

📚 ARC Review 📚

What a great way to start off this cozy season!!! This collection of Winter novellas was so much fun!

You definitely need to add all of these to your TBR. They are standalones and can be read in any order.

Thoughts 👇🏻

Snowed in at Snowcap Cafe - this one was definitely my favorite! I absolutely loved Liam & Alice!! I also really loved that we got right down to it. There wasn’t a ton of preamble.

Snowed in with Ski Patrol - Wren & Nico were great, they were so funny & I loved their dynamic. I love a second chance romance. The only issue I had was it took us forever to get into anything. With this being so short I wish we could have had them getting together a little sooner.

Snowed in at Holly Hill Cabin - I did enjoy this one, just not as much as the rest. There is nothing wrong with it, it was cute and our characters were fun & funny and it was a good read. But anything other than a monogamous relationship just isn’t my thing.

All in all, I highly recommend reading all three. While the temps are dropping, it was fun to just curl up all cozy & fly through these.

Harriet’s DEBUT novel - a fantastic cozy winter read that you can devour in a slow morning or afternoon. I love that it’s a part of the Snowed In series - all written by different authors with some fun crossovers.

Different than the other novellas in the series, this book took place over a longer period of time and felt like it had more of a slower pace; however I think Harriet chose a more complex relationship dynamic to explore.

Reading her novel, you’ll find:
•FFM
•Unexpexted love interest
•Forced proximity
•Small town setting
•Winter romance
•Ticking clock
•Married couple + one
•Queer romance

I loved that it was an FFM with an established married couple from England. We discover while reading that Mia is bisexual, but only recently started exploring this part of herself. She has never been with a woman, and both she and her husband, Ethan, meet Juniper - the host of their cabin holiday - who they both find they have an affinity with. I loved the playful nature of the entire story (ahem: truth or dare, snowball fights + living room picnics) and how Harriet explored the real life challenges that bisexual people often face. I also loved that she also took care and paid attention to the challenges relationships may undergo as people may decide to become polyamorous - I think this made the story feel more authentic.

Harriet also created a gorgeous, idealistic and cozy setting for the story. The epilogue DEFINITELY made me squeal a little bit internally, I hope maybe it means there could be a follow up novella (hint-hint).

ARC review of Snowed In at Holly Hill Cabin
Release date: 18 Nov 2025

Lots of potential for this short novella. The FFM aspect was handled carefully and I liked how there was an element of exploration and (late age) bi-awakening. The spice also delivered 😉

However, the story felt shallow and rushed at many points. I also found that I struggled to connect with the characters. Perhaps a bit more depth/history about the characters would help? Although for a short novella, I understand why it didn’t have details. Otherwise, the characters on their own were likeable - fun and funny too with the banters and jokes.

I’d say try this book for some taste in FFM and if you want a short read. AND Enjoy! 😋

Thank you to the author, Harriet Banter, for gifting me an eARC. All opinions in this review are my own.

Thanks to Harriet Banter for the ARC! 👌

Exact rating: 3.5⭐ and 2🌶️

I must start by saying that I really enjoyed the whole Holly Hill Winter Novella Collection. The cozy world the authors created is exactly what you need during the winter, preferably with a cup of spiked hot chocolate.

I enjoyed this book a little less, mostly because I couldn’t relate to the characters. I also felt it was a bit less developed than the other two stories, maybe because the timeline spans more days. When I read a novella, I love when the timeline is really short.

That said, I still enjoyed it, and the epilogue made me curious about what could happen next. 👀

Tropes to look for:

Forced proximity
Married couple × the host
FFM
Truth or dare

This book didn’t seem to be as much a holiday novella as it was more focused on the main couples late honeymoon. It was still a nice and quick read. We get some connections, and the couple has chemistry, however I don’t feel that the chemistry is seen as much as it was in other books of this interconnected series. The presence of the stand in host almost feels a bit forced at times and does cause lots of thinking and emotions in all parties involved. We don’t necessarily get the full couple happily ever after, but get a cliff hanger reunion at the end. It was overall a good book and a good small series.

I appreciate having received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this story ❤️❤️ it had so many beautiful moments that truly spoke to me and pulled at the heartstrings. There was gorgeous friendship and a feeling of instant found family that was heartwarming and joyous to read.

99% of the book was truly wonderful. My only gripe is the end. It was completely not what I was expecting and didn’t have the hea that I was hoping for. It has a sort of happy for now but there’s a bit of a twist that leaves a bit of an uncertain feeling at the end. But that’s the choice the writer made which is fair enough.

The writing flows smoothly and it was a warm and fun spicy Christmas read 🩷

Snowed In at Holly Hill Cabin - Harriet Banter ARC
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 | 🌶️

I found this to be more of a slow burn than the rest of the Novella Collection. Whilst I did read this in one sitting, the pacing was a little slow for my liking.

That aside, the author created a fantastically cosy, winter vibe. The cabin was totally idyllic - who wouldn’t want to get snowed in there?!

Perfect intro to FFM spice and for lovers of forced proximity.

Thanks to Harriet Banter and Book and Brew Creative for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This is Harriet Banter's adult DEBUT?! It's hard to believe because she handled the dynamic so very well. I loved spending time with established couple Mia and Ethan, and watching how they navigated the idea of adding a third person (the lovely Juniper) into their dynamic. Add to it their British-isms and creative puns, and you have a story that is not only steamy, but also funny and charming. This book is from a single POV (Mia), but I still felt like Ethan and Juniper were well-crafted and fully rounded characters. 5 stars for Harriet and I can't wait to read more!

I was gifted an ARC for this book and as such I did not read any previews or warnings and was surprised when the story took the turn it did 😂

This book is well-written, and I can confirm: it's definitely spicy!
The setup features a young couple finally taking their long-delayed honeymoon. The relationship dynamic starts straightforward and then becomes more than expected and much open door spice and experimentation ensues.

⚠️ Be Warned: This book involves shared sexual experiences, so it might be a little triggering if you are not comfortable with non-monogamy or sharing partners!

A short and sweet little FFM novella as part of the Holly Hill Winter Novella collection. Book 3 - A complete standalone. Snowed in and a little forced proximity has these three, Mia, Ethan and Juniper playing games that soon turn steamy. It has playful banter and the newlyweds have budding chemistry with their cabin host and with only one bed, things get a little spicy. Cute small town romance.

This is the 3rd novella I’m the Holly Hill Series just like the other two it gives off cozy snowed in vibes.
Mia and Ethan are newlyweds who have had to put off enjoying a honeymoon due to family illnesses on both sides. They finally get to have said honeymoon only for a storm to hit while their host is trying to show them their cabin. With all three of them snowed in together and feelings catching, things start to heat up.

This was such a fun short and spicy winter read!

Showed in is correct.
It is a super quick read. FFM forced proximity was set up well. It killed the winter cozy vibes. They had flirtations and a build-up to the spice. It has a nice pace and you can easily finish it in a day.

I found the constant “giggling” to be a bit annoying. Also thought that expanding more on Juniper and Ethan’s flirtations would have helped.

I would try another book from this author.

Somehow missed the FFM in the title, but was pleasantly surprised by it, and found myself rooting for it during the slow-burn portion of the book. It's probably not for everyone, but I think that it showed what a great relationship that Mia and Ethan had with each other. Juniper made it such a safe space for exploration and fun, and after the year Mia and Ethan had had, they deserved it. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that this one spanned a few days where the first two books in the series all took place over a single one, but that's pretty picky and did not change my rating.

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book.

A nice and steamy FFM novella. I adored the British-ness of the main couple.

I appreciated how the author developed the characters relationships and there wasn’t an immediate threesome.

Well written romance and fairly well paced. Thanks to the author and Book & Brew Creative for a copy to review.

Cute sweet short winter novella. The whole series is set during a single storm where lots of people get trapped by snow in whatever location they were in when it started! These three seem to be the coziest! Lots of spice for a novella and a good representation of a bi-awakening later in life.

This was again a fast paced novella with sort chapters which helped to engage and stay with the story. The story was not like one I’d read before (I will not spoil why) but it really gave me a different outlook on the aha mix and how trust and loyalty is everything. This is a spicy romance.

This snowed in romance was different for me as I don't normally reach for this trope. Ended up really loving their connection and at the end was wishing for another to see what happened when theu reunited!
