I got pregnant and rejected by the Lycan King. Now I'm dying and only he can save me.
I was just a human working at a café- pouring lattes, hiding behind books, and pretending not to notice the hot, six-foot-five man who watched me every morning like I was already his.
Until one night, the sexy monster broke into my apartment, growled that I was his fated mate… and then claimed me. Rough, feral, unforgettable.
By morning, he was gone. And when I tracked him down, desperate for answers, he rejected me like I was nothing.
Weeks later, I found out I was pregnant with his twins.
I swore he’d never know. I kept my secret, built a life, and prayed fate would leave me alone.
But fate is cruel. Years later, a feral’s bite is killing me- and his brother drags me back to the King I thought I’d escaped.
Now he knows I’m dying. And when everyone finds out my secret; that a human got pregnant with a lycan's babies- Our world will never be the same..
I enjoyed the story. Main characters were great. Lina was strong and capable, Knox was kind of a fuck up but was totally in love with Lina. I like how the kids being hybrids was included. I only had two issues - 1) why did Lina have to be a virgin when she first got with Knox. She was 23, old enough to have had previous relationships. I’m just so over the virgin trope and underlying message of purity and innocence. 2) I didn’t like that they took Mary’s baby. I understand she’s done terrible things and harmed the pack but no one has the right to force a woman to birth a child then take the child from them.
This is one of the worst werewolf make books I have ever read. It could have been good the story and the plot were solid. The writing was so ridiculously juvenile in the situations were Beyond fantasy. The alpha was so lame, the 4-year-old twins talk like they had a college diploma LOL I just couldn't take this book seriously so I scrolled to the end and it wasn't very good either. It was just way too long for a story like this it just rambled into such unrealistic situations. There's fantasy and then there's stupidity.
I loved this story in the Forbidden Alpha Kings book series! Great plot, wonderful multi-dimensional characters and enough danger and action to keep my bookworm heart glued to my kindle! I loved the human-werewolf blending trope and I fell in love with Knox just as much as Lina did – despite wanting to smack him on the head from time to time; his decisions created more hurt and chaos than he could have imagined and cost him precious time with the people he loved the most. Lina is human. She is so sweet and caring as well as strong and decisive, willing to do anything for the people she loves. However, her traumatic past makes things difficult for Knox and his stance and decisions causes her unfathomable pain and leaves her raising her twins alone. But fate has other plans and no one can really interfere with a true mate bond. So, their road to HEA was paved with obstacles, heartache and bad decisions, but true love is worth it all. An amazing 5-star read in my opinion.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed the story, almost as much as a Roxie Ray novel, but I can’t help thinking, who are the editors for these books? Not grammatical mistakes, but copied text and poor continuity? It’s not just this book, so I’m not judging it on that though it’s painful to read, but a lot lately. Just a thought. Back to the story, I liked how there was drama but not so much angst to the point that you don’t see the reconciliation coming. Some books there’s so much as suddenly they end with a HEA. Like, how did that happen? This was more realistic. It actually became a healthy relationship which I think is rare in this specific genre; there’s usually some sort of power imbalance but here they were sorta normal people, as much as an Alpha shifter can be normal. Loved the interactions with the kids. I know it wasn’t completely about them, but enjoyed how they interacted with other shifters once they met them. They found their place in the world and that was almost more touching than the romance.

18+, XXX. Adult content, reader discretion advised. So books and coffee are the theme in both books. Lina is an entrepreneur with a books store and coffee shop. Knox (Mathias) is a cowardly wolf. Know brings danger to Lina's front door. He defends her, has a one night stand and then when she finds him the following morning at a hotel, he rejects her in front of Cole (Beta), Hunt (Gamma) and Noah (brother). Neither new he had impregnated her, with twins. Five years later routes attack again. This time Line is attacked and severely wounded. Lucky for her Noah came sniffing around after he heard about the attack. He brings her to the only one who can save her, Knox. Unfortunately, Mary is not happy for the reunion. She tried to kill Lina and her children. When it didn't work in the first book she tried again in the second. She came closer this time.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! This book is so exciting. Very entertaining. The suspense at times is so intense I couldn't read fast enough. Lina is the mfc and she gets pulled into a world she never knew existed. At times I was crying right along with her. Knox is the big bad** Alpha and he completely breaks Lina's heart and then I was crying again. Lol. Rowan and Thea are total cuteness overload. Their characters are absolutely adorable. The secondary characters are such an intricate part of bringing the story together. This is my first book by this Author and it won't be my last. The sex is set your crotch on fire smokin hot. This book has all the feels and angst you could possibly want in a great book. I extremely recommend this book to everyone.
I want to start off by starting that this was a new to me author(s) and really enjoyed the writing style. I tend to stick with authors with writing styles that are compatible with my own thought processes. I really enjoyed both MCs and the overall storyline. I did enjoy the fact the alpha was not afraid to grovel and beg for forgiveness and he genuinely had strong feelings for the MFC. I am also new to the whole wolf thing and was not sure what to expect. I do not read supernatural related books and this was a first. I will say that I’m not turned off from the idea, so maybe I’ll explore that genre in the future.
The story was fantastic! I loved the characters and the banter kept me laughing the entire time. Which was good because the inconsistent writing drove me completely nuts and I almost gave up multiple times. There were tons of inaccuracies (person was blonde, then brunette, they were in a house then it was an apartment), repeat sentences, repeat information from different characters, all kinds of things. Very clearly no beta reads or even basic editing which is wild from a duo
There were grammer and editing issues. I don't know if I missed it advertised at the beginning of the book, but I didn't realize it was technically two books. I personally prefer the shorter stories so reading this separately would have been better for me as it was just too much. The summary was basically the second book and not really descriptive of the first.
The story was full of action, drama and spice. Lina just could not seem to catch a break. From start to finish, Lina proves to have a backbone and strength that rivals supernaturals. While there were times I skimmed over the adult scenes, they were plentiful, the story was well written. The pacing was good. I did not realize the book was actually a duet, so that was a bonus.
I never read anything from Else's Haze and Kinda Were and I am really impressed. The storyline was absolutely amazing and kept you captivated up until the end. Some of the characters were a hoot and funny banter going on.. I can't wait to read more from both Authors..
While searching for routes the Lycan King of this territory meets the local Bookstore/Coffee Shop owner and realizes she is his mate. Problem is she is human and lycan don't mix with humans. Another problem is he has a crazy stalker werewolf bitch who won't take no for an answer. Good Adult Read
I really liked this book, the characters, the angst, the action but I couldn't quite give it 5 stars. There were several inconsistencies in the narratives and a lot of phrases that were repeatedly used throughout. Those are just some of my pet peeves that keep me from giving it 5 stars.
Again a great exciting story of Lina and Knox's the mistakes that the journey that ends in great.
The lifestyle of two people that comes from two different worlds , they face Challenges from both side. They stand together for family and love. Action to fight the dangers from Enemies . All else pickup this Exciting book. See for yourself
It was a slow build , but I love the character development and the way the story unfolded. This book could have gone on for another twenty chapters and I would have happily read every word.
I loved this book because it was such a sweet love story, with some spice. I gave it five stars because I like how Knox wasn't an over the top abuser like many of the werewolf stories I read. He made some stupid mistakes, but he made up for it later.
The first half of this book was painful. I almost didn’t finish reading it. It had too many things repeated too many times. There are 2 full paragraphs that repeat the same thing about Noah walking into the room and other fluff. The second half was different and well written.
I loved that the story didn't just end when they got married! I 😘 ved to see what happened after! You can feel the love they have for each other! There was a lot of action! I stayed up very late because I couldn't put it down! Highly recommend!💜
I really enjoyed this book. There are some inconsistencies regarding things like hair color and eye color and a few other inconsistencies throughout the story, but it wasn’t enough to take away from the story line. I still found this book very enjoyable.
I read both parts so quickly. I loved the characters and the strong bond of family that the store conveyed. All the characters were well written and alive in a way that almost made them seem real. Great storytelling!
Cute story…but I found some discrepancies between the stories. It was almost like the second part was wrote by someone else and they missed key details
