The truth is finally within reach. DCI Glover is forced to return to London after his old superior calls him with shocking news… a young girl has been kidnapped and DSI Brown believes whoever took the child could be behind DI Arnold’s death! For two months Glover has hunted for Arnold’s killer, resenting his old team for not believing his assertions that Arnold’s death was no accident, but now with shocking truths revealed it seems as though he will soon get his answers. However, the more Glover delves into London’s criminal underworld, the more dangerous things become. Will Glover finally find the person responsible for Arnold’s death? Or is he about to discover some secrets are best left buried?
I really enjoyed this Glover novel! It was exciting finally figuring out what happened to Arnold after not knowing for five books and the twist behind her death was so shocking you just didn’t see it coming! The novel was filled with twists and turns and I loved how it ended with a cliffhanger. That definitely gripped me and has made me impatient for the next book.
We have heard a lot about Glover’s London team so it was nice having a novel where we got to know them all better. While I missed his dynamic with his new Scottish team, it felt nice to delve a bit more into Glover’s past and get to know him a bit better.
My favourite part of the novel was the fact that there was so many exciting elements to it. There was a trafficking case, kidnapping, corruption, and murder, all which gave you plenty to sink your teeth into. It always makes for a good read when there’s plenty going on.
Overall, I loved this book and its exciting end only makes you want to keep reading. I just hope the next book will be out soon.

Amazing, probably the best so far in this thriller series, and that is difficult to say as so far these have been a great read.
The intrigue in the race to find the murderer, of his friend and London team mate will keep you on edge from start to finish.
Couldn't put this book down and the twist at the end ! when is the next book due, can't wait.

I am loving this series of DI Glover novels. The characters and stories are fantastic. Each case is enthralling, of itself, and the overall story and character arc and progression is riveting. Highly recommended.
