Harry McCabre #6

Ghostlier Things

Rate this book
Framed for murder. Hunted by the law. Haunted by the dead.

When one of Harry McCabre's old high school friends is murdered, all evidence points to her as the prime suspect. But before she can clear her name, a second body turns up-and now she's not just a suspect, she's a fugitive.

With Scotland Yard hot on her heels (including her own boyfriend, Inspector Darian Watley), Harry and Jarrett go on the run to track down the real killer. But dodging the law isn't their only problem. As ghostly warnings grow stronger, it's clear that something sinister-and supernatural-is at play.

Meanwhile, Jarrett and Deshawn are adjusting to life as new parents, but their recently adopted Ukrainian baby boy proves to be more of a challenge than either expected. And when Jarrett is accused of aiding and abetting a fugitive, Deshawn is left juggling fatherhood and a paranormal crisis-all while trying to keep the Wraith Wranglers afloat.

With time running out and the net closing in, Harry will have to rely on old allies, family secrets, and more than a little ghostly interference to stay ahead of her pursuers and uncover the truth before she's locked away for good.

A fast-paced supernatural mystery packed with humor, heart, and high-stakes thrills, Harry McCabre's Ghostlier Things is one case she might not survive.

When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.

He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.

Definitely not for the serious minded

Awesome. Okay the books get more zany and OTT with each subsequent one. However for pure fun this is a great read. When she starts passing out and waking to find herself covered in blood and dead bodies around her, she knows that it won't be long before she's arrested for murder. Can the ghosts help her make sense of what is happening and why. With an arrest outstanding and a new "baby" on the scene she has no other option but to go on the run with just one of the usual team. Can the two of them use their skills to end bloodbath. It was obvious who the "baddie" was but the tongue in cheek plot kept you reading. Great to see all the characters and their growth. Fun, zany and quirky.

Ghostlier Things

The latest book has fun, adventure and a quest. Harry is accused of a triple homicide. Her picture spread over London like the fog. Jarrett and Deshawn learn they have been mislead in their quest to adopt--this is a real kicker!! Harry learns more about her parents and grandmother as well as ghosts in general.
I'm waiting for the next book--according to the last chapter of Ghostlier Things, there will be more changes in our well developed characters and more twisty plots 😎

Books in the series

Very good twist which in my opinion is what makes a mystery worth reading. I've read the others in the series because the characters are charming from book one through book six, but the outcome is kind of predictable but worth the read on a cozy afternoon.

3-1/2 stars.

An enjoyable read. We learn more about Harry's past and family. Parts of the plot I liked. The humor is good . Some of the plot I just couldn't see how Harry could come out if her predicament. I like the series.

The Ghosts of London six book series

Absolutely marvellous, Nic Saint a master of suspense. His books are so original, some American terms pop up here and there but it doesn't matter.

This was quite an adventure and I hope it isn’t the last of Harry and Jarret and the gang! Enjoyed it as I did all the others in series.
