A heartwarming new novel from Danielle Steel, whose countless #1 New York Times bestselling novels have made her one of America’s favorite storytellers.
Danielle Steel has been hailed as one of the world's bestselling authors, with almost a billion copies of her novels sold. Her many international bestsellers include All That Glitters, Royal, Daddy's Girls, The Wedding Dress, The Numbers Game, Moral Compass, Spy, and other highly acclaimed novels. She is also the author of His Bright Light, the story of her son Nick Traina's life and death; A Gift of Hope, a memoir of her work with the homeless; Expect a Miracle, a book of her favorite quotations for inspiration and comfort; Pure Joy, about the dogs she and her family have loved; and the children's books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood.
3.5 stars. I actually enjoyed this book. It does have a very emotionally charged aspect to part of the book with one of the female characters, so check triggers before diving in.
A book by Danielle Steel. This book was ok but it read like a few of Danielle Steel’s previous books. It was like various characters in the other books, the same pattern, the same actions and then were put into this one. I have read almost all of Danielle Steel’s books and I can say this one was a disappointment because it was so similar to
This book is about Dominique and her three children. Felicity is an artist and is an a relationship but she never thought she would marry and have kids. So she is caught off gaurd when her boyfriend proposes. She agrees and from there things go sideways. Violet is dating a sports reporter and he proposes it's a never to get married ring. Tommy her son is married to a model and they have two sons. Dominique herself is and has been for a long time in a relationship with a married man. It all falls apart when Felicity's young man becomes a different person after proposing. This book is about their lives and the changes they go through.
I have read all of Danielle Steel books and some of them I find to be very predictable. I especially enjoyed this book about a family where there were several weddings taking place during the course of the book. Most of the characters were very likable, and even though everybody in Danielle Steel’s booksalways has tons of money the storyline was very interesting. Felicity was my favorite character, and the grandmother seemed like a very sweet older lady with lots of wisdom. Even though there’s several things in the book that I not approve of on a personal level, I thought the book was one to remember.
I usually love Danielle Steel’s books. This one was the first that I found strangely written. It was just not her usual writing. It didn’t flow like her books usually do. There was way too much time wasted in the first 3/4 of the book, telling facts that were really irrelevant to me. There was a total mix up regarding the rehearsal dinner. It had way more sex and violence than usual as well. I was really turned off by it. Almost made me feel like there was a ghost writer. I hope the next one is more like her usual great story. We shall see!
This read like an incredibly amateur, wanna-be feminist author wrote this book. I don't want to go into the details because I found it absolute disgusting how this book handled the more mature themes. As a critique of the writing style, it was horrible, there is no other word for it. It was a classic example of tell, don't show. Everyone was either elegant, a whore or sexy. The men were dashing, somehow had spunk and energy to have sex twice in 12 hours even in their 80s. I am just so angry because this book has treated its readers like idiots.
What's better than a wedding, a slew of family-filled weddings spanning the world. Acclaimed dress designer, Dominique is dismayed by her children's partners but having been a married man's mistress for sixteen years, Dominique feels that she can't judge them. As the story progresses readers will find themselves armchair traveling for their seat at the ceremonies. While I don't feel 'Weddings' was the author's best novel, I prefer her historical fiction reads, the family saga was intriguing.
I have read every book written by the author. I’ve noticed lately she hurries through the process in an effort to meet deadlines, etc., and chapter after chapter repeats herself with minor variations. I struggle to the end promising myself this will be the last book I read by her. However, habit makes me read the next and the next. I can honestly say this will be the last book I read my Ms. Steel. Not only did she repeat hersel ad nauseam, but the book was exhaustingly boring and ridiculous.
Weddings: a novel by Danielle Steel is the story of Dominique Dupont who designs world famous wedding gowns. She is divorced with a long term romance with a married man. Two adult daughters and a son. Elderly mom in France. One busy woman. Her artist daughter gets engaged but things don't seem right. Grandmom is a hoot. Fast beach read.
Note: this book contains very descriptive domestic violence.
I found this very repetitive. The characters were either bland, boring, narcissistic or abusive. It was a very 'money and old money lifestyle' vibe. The words 'making love' were used so much it made me cringe.
Whilst it would've been a touching story, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
After reading Danielle Steele for many years I expected better than this. So predictable that AI could have written it. Very disappointing for me. I would not waste your money on this one.
I did enjoy this book, but one of the characters was such a dumbass. Like in this day and age that a woman would let what happened happen repeatedly? And stay with the guy? Yeah that really bugged me.
Well, it isn't my favorite of her books. The rape scenes were difficult to read,(I actually choked up during the last one), but the overall story was really good, especially Marie Arielle's reconnection with Clement, and Dominique and Bill's reconnection.

Weddings is a wonderful story, that will touch your heart. Dominique designs beautiful wedding gowns, but her married life is none existing. Her daughters are complete opposites and want the love of their lives to be true. They will both experience love differently, as their Mother is too.
This story was all about the complicated relationships of a mother, two daughters, and a grandmother and their different views about weddings. There is serious material about sexual abuse between one of her daughters and her fiancé leading up to their wedding.
Danielle Steel can always guarantee a comfortable good story tell. Never mind blowing. But just a general feeling when finished it was such a good story.
