I'm From Division Street is a great comeback tale written by Author Kenneth N. Green. His book describes how he grew up in poverty in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, facing academic problems and antisemitism, but subsequently became successful as a Defense Attorney and worked his way up to Chief of Public Defenders in Los Angeles County, was adjunct professor at UCLA, and became an amateur boxer inducted in to the California Boxing Hall of Fame. The book paints a colorful picture Humboldt Park during the 1950's during his youth. I'm From Division Street also profiles famous and successful people who had their roots in that neighborhood. The book is a riveting, no-holds barred story told with lots of heart.
