If you wondered if maybe you caught the travel bug before reading this book, you will surely be planning your next adventure by the time you finish. Lindsey's journalistic prowess is on full display in this book. Each chapter takes on a different aspect of travel, and I particularly enjoyed the first-hand accounts of those who actually lived it. I also appreciate the "action steps" listed at the end of each chapter. Lindsey doesn't leave the reader hanging for how to start or how to achieve what they and other queer travelers have done. Though they are explicit in saying (Out) on the Road is not a "how-to" guide, it certainly packs in a lot of useful wisdom and resources that will be invaluable to aspiring and veteran queer travelers alike. A must-read.

A liberating and fun read for any queer traveler

I’ve never read a book like this but now I want more stories to read. Danis did a beautiful job sharing the joyful moments of queer travel while dealing with the complexity of gender, race, sexuality, safety and other challenges we face on the road. You’re left considering how you move through the world with an invitation to both be more intentional of others and to find your own joy in it all.

I absolutely loved this book! I appreciate how much of the writer's journey (both travel and personal) is interwoven into this unorthodox travel guide, which is highly useful for the queer community as well as for allies. And I dog-eared the pages with the travel tips on a budget! Now it's time to plan my vacation with this book in mind...
