This was a very sweet and quick read. I can’t believe the author was able to inject so much drama and resolution in such a small book. Absolutely amazing!

2.5 stars ⭐️ This is a predictable shifter book (possible spoilers ahead)
I’ve found that shifter books tend to be either very predictable or they are OTT with crazy plot lines. This had a mixture of both.
I thought the whole professor plotline was unnecessary. It didn’t really add anything except the trope.
H and h meet at a bar. h thought she was meeting a paid escort her BFF purchased for her. H wasn’t. They kiss.
The next day, surprise! He’s her professor. There are chapters of what I call filler. Mean girl being mean to h. H and h going back and forth. From both POV’s we know they are fated mates. They start having a secret relationship…..kind of. He does introduce h to his awful friends.
We know from H’s POV, his dad (the alpha) is an awful man who uses H’s mom to keep H in line. Dad wants H to marry OW to secure their businesses. Dad knows about h and threatens that he’ll do something to her if H doesn’t end the relationship.
Welp! h hears a news report and finds out H is engaged. She confronted H, and he said some really awful things to her. Basically tells her he was using her. h finds out she got the internship in Paris, so she leaves.
6 years later and h has a 5-year-old daughter. She’s a successful designer of wedding dresses. She’s hired for H and OW’s wedding dress design.
From H’s POV, we find out he’s been looking for h all this time (it never explains why he couldn’t find her 🤷♀️). We know his dad is dead, and he’s the alpha now. He’s put off marrying OW all these years, but now his time has run out. Her family is very powerful. OW is straight-up awful.
H keeps trying to corner h to explain the past now that his dad is gone. h has this “friend” named Alexander (OM), who claims to be her boyfriend 🚩🚩 (tbf, this guy has helped h all these years and has been a good friend to her)
H catches sight of the little girl. EVEN though she has his eyes, he still wonders who the girl’s dad is (I don’t understand how anybody could be that dense). For some strange reason, he starts meeting up with the little girl in the park. He doesn’t understand why he feels connected to her. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
OW meets up with h and threatens the little girl’s life if h doesn’t back away from H.
I will say I loved the part where H is begging h to listen, then she throws back his same hateful words he said to her all those years ago. H is losing his mind with jealousy over OM.
Then the author brings up the Labubu toy and how H got the little girl one *eye roll*
Then OM proposes to h. She said no.
H then becomes a major investor in h’s company
No lie, I wanted to scream because H kept trying to explain what happened 6 years prior, and h kept shutting him down before he could. It was annoying.
News then came out that all H’s stocks were crashing, and his engagement was called off. H went to h’s house and told her his company was now bankrupt. OW’s dad caused this by pulling his business and causing others to pull their business.
Finally, at 77% H gets to explain what happened all those years ago. Then they have smex 😂 He’s able to make her orgasm with just a command.
h again tells OM she can’t be with him. She’s shocked when he gets upset. (This guy was always a red flag to me.)
OW then accuses H of an affair with h in the news media. 🤨 I’m not sure how this happened, but h’s company basically “fired” her. Ummm, OM tells her the ONLY way to save her company is to marry him. Her answer is no.
H then goes on national TV to spill everything, especially about OW’s shady company stealing.
Then H goes to see h and admits his company is really not bankrupt. He told the lie to catch OW’s company. h admits the little girl is his child. He admits he already knew and had a paternity test done.
Btw- what preschool gives kids ONIONS to eat at school? That is goofy.
They tell the little girl H is her dad. She’s happy. 🙃🙃🙃 He’s not even mad at the dumb lie h told the little girl all these years.
Then the ah-ha moment comes. OM and OW were working together all this time. Their reputations are damaged, the company is put out of business, and h’s company flourishes, and her reputation is restored. No comeuppance for the villains….yet.

Right before it goes off, OW’s voice comes through the walkie-talkie. She’s BIG BIG mad and wants H to pay for humiliating her. She wants him to sign over his company to her.
H sacrifices himself to save h when the bomb goes off. He was in a coma for a bit, but recovered. Wedding, smex, then he marks her. One year later, she’s pregnant. HEA.
OM died, OW went to jail

Eine Verwechslung mit Folgen.
Der Missbrauch von Vertrauen.

Das Cover zeigt wieder einen Mann mit einem Wolf im Hintergrund. Das symbolisiert wieder sehr schnell, dass es sich hierbei um eine Gestaltwandlergeschichte handelt. Jedoch ist das Cover den anderen der Reihe und auch gleichwertigen Geschichten ähnlich, sodass hier keine Neuerungen zu erkennen sind und die Gestaltung langweilig wird. Wäre da nicht der Titel, wäre ich mir nicht einmal sicher, ob ich die Geschichte vielleicht nicht schon gelesen habe… Einzige Neuerung, der Adonis auf diesem Bild trägt zur Abwechslung mal eine Brille. Der Rest? Immer stumpf gleichbleibend…
Eigener Eindruck:
Kathrine wurde von ihrem Freund betrogen und versucht ihren Frust in Alkohol zu ertränken. Da scheint es ihrer besten Freundin eine Pflicht, sie abzulenken und ihr einen Callboy in die Bar zu schicken. Diesem kommt Kathrine auch schnell näher, flüchtet dann aber doch vor der Situation. Als sie in der Uni dann plötzlich genau jenem Mann gegenübersteht und dieser sich als ihr Professor entpuppt, könnte die Situation nicht peinlicher sein, denn nun erkennt sie die Verwechslung. Xavier hingegen ist sich sicher, dass er in der jungen Studentin seine Seelengefährtin gefunden hat und geht eine Beziehung mit ihr ein. Als es aber darum geht zu Kathrine zu stehen und lässt er diese fallen wie eine heiße Kartoffel. In ihrer Schmach flüchtet sie und taucht unter. Doch das Schicksal scheint es nicht gut mit ihr zu meinen. Jahre später steht sie Xavier wieder gegenüber. Als die Planerin seiner Hochzeit. Dabei kommen nicht nur alte Gefühle wieder auf, welche sie im Keim ersticken will und muss, sondern sie muss auch zusehen, dass sie ihr Geheimnis wahren kann…
Mit dieser Geschichte präsentiert Autorin Jasmine Fox eine weitere Drama-Story rund um die Thematik der verlassenen Gefährten, geheimen Schwangerschaften und Missverständnissen. Man kommt ziemlich schnell in die Geschichte rein und ich war anfangs angenehm überrascht, dass es einmal eine neuere Geschichte wird. Jedoch wurde im Verlauf schnell klar, dass die Autorin sich auch hier wieder an viele Elemente hält, welche sie schon bedient hat und dass man den groben Verlauf gleich wieder weiß. Das ist langweilig und macht einfach keinen Spaß mehr, auch wenn es vielleicht in eine neue Szenerie verpackt wurde, so ist es unter dem strich doch immer wieder gleich. Dann wird das Ganze diesmal wieder durch extreme Übersetzungsfehler getoppt. Die Du- und Sie-Form wird wieder so unerträglich durcheinander gewürfelt, dass man sehr schnell begreift, dass hier KI am Werk war. Das ist unschön und frustrierend – getreu dem Motto schnelle Kohle für wenig Aufwand. Da bin ich richtig froh, dass das Buch im Abo enthalten war. On top kommen bei dieser Geschichte aber noch arge Zeitsprünge sowie auch Lücken und unlogische Zeitangaben hinzu. Und dann wieder diese übertriebenen Entführungen, dramatischen Racheaktionen und das immer gleichbleibende Schema, um die Protagonistin zurück zu gewinnen. Junge, Junge… da weiß man gar nicht, über was man sich zuerst ärgern soll. Und apropos Protagonistin… die ist so nervig, allein ab dem ersten Moment an, wo sie sich da an den nächstbesten ranschmeisst oder in einer kurz darauffolgenden Szene schamlos unter seinem Tisch im Büro sitzt und ihn befummelt, wirklich ernst nehmen oder bemitleiden kann man sie einfach nicht.
Fazit:
Die Geschichten der Autorin ähneln sich sehr stark. Kennst du eine, kennst du alle. Das ist sehr frustrierend, es ist sehr vorhersehbar und es macht einfach keinen Spaß. Von mir gibt es für diese Story keine Leseempfehlung.

Other man drama, Katherine business partner, yep there is a man that wants Katherine no matter if she's fated to Xavier, Alexander will try until he gets what he wants or makes sure Xavier will never have his mate permanently...

Heir to the Sirius Pack/Group, a pawn to his dad's threats, his mother whom we see twice is been imprisoned Xavier's whole life, and daddy exploits that weakness to get what he wants and don't care about anyone else. Doesn't want anything to do with a fated mate but the Goddess sees to that real quick... Engaged to a heiress for 6 years, oh my...

OK...this is the second secret baby romance I read by this author and I will say I enjoyed this one a little bit more. Yeah still like a soap opera but I didn't feel like everything was rushed. Xavier and Katherine had immediate chemistry and their first meet was wild. Their beginnings was whirlwind until the betrayal happened. Xavier forced into making decisions that will destroy their happiness...mass miscommunications involved...that's why there is sooooooooo much drama. Skip forward six years...still drama...Xavier expects a second chance and depends on the mating extinct...hmpf...Katherine not having it but can't resist the pull...more drama with the evil fiancé and cuckoo coworkers...a lot of back n forth but we finally do get our forever family with the lovely HEA. I don't remember reading any werewolf shifting but its all good...didn't take away from the romance. This was definitely a page turner and didn't take too long to read. I recommend for all the reality TV lovers...this will be good.

Rejected by My Professor Alpha (Whispers of the Pack Book 4) ~~ I read this book on Kindle, and Katherine and Xavier’s story brings in that forbidden professor/student dynamic and it does not disappoint.
Katherine is intelligent and determined, and she doesn’t just roll over when things get complicated. Xavier, on the other hand, is trying to keep control — of himself, of the situation, and especially of the bond between them.
The tension in this one is on another level. There’s constant restraint, stolen moments, and that underlying feeling that everything could fall apart at any second.
Xavier fights the connection harder than most, and that makes every small crack in his control feel huge. And Katherine? She’s not about to let him off easy.
This one had me completely invested in how far they would go before everything finally snapped.

Rejected by My Professor Alpha (Whispers of the Pack Book 4) ~~ I read this book on Kindle, and Katherine and Xavier’s story brings in that forbidden professor/student dynamic and it does not disappoint.
Katherine is intelligent and determined, and she doesn’t just roll over when things get complicated. Xavier, on the other hand, is trying to keep control — of himself, of the situation, and especially of the bond between them.
The tension in this one is on another level. There’s constant restraint, stolen moments, and that underlying feeling that everything could fall apart at any second.
Xavier fights the connection harder than most, and that makes every small crack in his control feel huge. And Katherine? She’s not about to let him off easy.
This one had me completely invested in how far they would go before everything finally snapped.

Rejected by My Professor Alpha by Jasmine Fox had such a fun mix of tropes—fated mates, forbidden professor/student tension, and the ever-dramatic secret baby twist. The emotional push and pull between the leads kept me hooked, and the second-chance angle added depth to their romance.
I did take off half a star for a few inconsistencies that pulled me out of the flow, but overall, this was an enjoyable read that fans of werewolf & shifter romance, secret babies, and angsty second chances will appreciate.

Like a lot of women I'm sure I have a thing about teacher or Professor books. I think it's hot. This was really well written. I enjoyed the push and pull between Xavier and Katherine. A lot of their problems could have been solved through better communication.

Definitely worth reading
Lovely story that has the right amount of love, passion, tragedy, misunderstandings n reconnecting love. It isn't dragged out or too repetitive. It is perfectly balanced. Loved it! Also the epilogue was real sweet too
