A defector on the run. A faceless assassin. Breed’s toughest mission.

When CIA operator Anya Stein offers Breed a job in Vienna, he arrives just in time to save her from Russian assassins led by a deadly blonde in dark sunglasses.

Stein explains the mission: protect defecting rocket scientist Dieter Kromik, who holds the secret to Russia's devastating Oreshnik missile – a conventional weapon that delivers a nuclear-sized punch.

The Russians already have elite teams on the ground – and they’ll do whatever it takes to find and kill Kromik. Spetsnaz teams and the enigmatic assassin Strelko hunt them through the streets of Vienna and escape seems impossible. Their only hope lies with the Magnificent Strang, an aging Cold War-era magician who once smuggled fugitives across the Iron Curtain.

With his beautiful granddaughter Liesl, Strang guides the group on a deadly journey from Vienna to Prague to Berlin. Outnumbered and outgunned at every turn, Breed fights a running battle across Europe as the body counts rises.

The bloody finale awaits in a smoky Berlin nightclub, where Breed and Stein must use every one of their lethal skills – and a few of Strang’s illusions – to survive against impossible odds.

Thrill Kill – Book Twelve in the stunning Breed action thriller series. Perfect for fans of Jason Kasper, Jack Carr, and Lee Child.

You will never know where Breed will turn up. In Thrill Kill he travels with a magician through Europe in a wild chase to get some russian defectors safely to the US of A. Cameron Curtis has with this the twelfth book written a thrilling and fast paced story that I really enjoyed reading. In this book we get some background on Anya Stein the CIA operative that often uses Breed to solve problems. We also get a guided tour in towns like Vienna, Prag and Berlin. We also get some really good action when Breed and Stein has to face some evil russians and some jealous co workers. I must thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for giving me an advance copy to read. It comes highly recommended.

Here is my review for Thrill Kill by Cameron Curtis

This was a terrific action thriller story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I was hooked as soon as I started reading this full on Breed, and Stein operation to help a defecting rocket scientist, and his wife leave Vienna, through Prague to Berlin. They met opposition from the Russian elite teams in Vienna. Leaving behind dead and wounded, Russians and Austrian cops plus civilians in their shoot-outs. Stein then turned to an old family friend, Magnificent Stang. He once helped smuggle fugitives across the Iron Curtain in the Cold War Era. They travel with him as his guests. This story is superbly written with an excellent plot that has been extremely well thought out. There are some brilliant colour photographs of places mentioned in the story in the Kindle copy of the book. Each chapter tells you where the chapter is placed, the time and date plus which day of the mission it is. The characters have been made to appear realistic, they play their parts well and they are well described. I like Breed as he is an action guy who does missions for a living but generally if Stein asks, he will do the job which usually involves shoot-outs but he doesn’t kill unless necessary. The story has great descriptive text which explains everything really well and in detail. I like the author’s writing style and I found it really easy to get into. I really enjoy this series of books but each can be read as a standalone as you can pick up any details you may need as you read. This story is the most daring that I have read Breed do yet, in the few I have read so far and I think it’s a great addition to the series. I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Thrill Kill by Cameron Curtis
Breed Thriller #12

~ Intense, immersive, action-packed thrill-ride from beginning to end ~ Couldn’t put it down ~

What I liked:
* Breed: ex-army Delta Force sniper, requested retirement post traumatic military engagement, strong, strategic thinker, lethal, dependable, protective, intriguing, intelligent, excellent and varied skills, independent contractor, battle-scarred, survivor, attractive to women, someone I would like to have as a friend and definitely would want in my corner if in trouble
* Leisl: mid-twenties year old assistant to magician and grandfather Strang, illusionist, magician, bright, innocent, supportive, chooses Breed for something important to her, wonder if she will show up in the future
* Käthe: performer, has seen much, seeking a way out, asks Breed for a favor, wonder if she will show up again in the future
* Anya: Anya Stein: assistant CIA Director, intelligent, experienced in field work, strategic thinker, capable, dedicated, intriguing, wealthy, good communicator, diplomatic, a bit of an enigma
The plot, pacing, setting, and writing – having visited Vienna in the past, I felt I was there
* The look into what it might be like to be a double agent, selling information to the highest bidder, trying to change sides safely, being hunted, and more
* Wondering what makes people like Breed excellent at what they do
* Considering that people like Breed and Orlove have similar skills and jobs though they work for opposing countries
* Being able to hate the baddies and wish Karma – or Breed – will deal with them
* It provided me an escape for the period of time I was immersed in the story
* Thinking about what Breed might be doing next

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* The willingness to harm those that were in the way of the assignment/target and having no qualms about interrogating, torturing, or killing just about anyone

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to Inkubator and Booksprout for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Cameron Curtis's latest novel, Thrill Kill, plunges the reader into a high-stakes world of espionage, centred on the familiar hero Breed, an ex-Delta Force sniper. His mission is vital: to extract a Russian scientist, Dr Kromik, and Kromik’s wife, who hold the secrets to a revolutionary non-nuclear weapon. This new device is capable of causing significant destruction without using atomic warheads, making it a critical asset.
Breed is tasked with providing cover for CIA Deputy Director Stein, who is conducting the initial pickup in Vienna. The mission instantly collapses into chaos when elite Russian troops ambush the team. From that moment, the book becomes a frantic, relentless chase. The Russians are committed to capturing or eliminating Kromik to ensure the weapon’s design never reaches American hands.
The team must flee through Vienna, utilising Stein’s unexpected contacts—a well-known magician named Strang and his daughter—to reach Prague and, eventually, the relative safety of Berlin for extraction to the U.S. Predictably, the storyline relies heavily on Breed’s quick thinking and tactical ingenuity as he continually outwits his skilled Russian adversaries.
The book's greatest strength is its detailed sense of place. Curtis provides a well-researched topography of Vienna, Prague, and Berlin. Ultimately, Thrill Kill is a conventional spy thriller that sticks closely to the traditional dynamic of U.S. versus Russian operatives. While the plot offers few genuine surprises for seasoned genre readers, the book's fast pace and excellent geographic detail make it a worthwhile read, especially for die-hard fans of the Breed series.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story begins with Breed traveling to Vienna to might with Stein to learn what the assignment is. Before he is able to meet, he saves Stein from being shot by a sniper. Once he is able to sit down with her, he learns that he is to protect a Russian defector and his wife. He also discovered that Vienna there is a Russian team that wants to make sure the defector and his wife are killed. The plans for flying the defector go out the window because of the fact that when the sniper tried to kill Stein, two police officers were killed. The end result was that the area was locked down and there was no way to get out. Luckily, Stein had an acquaintance who was a magician known as "The Magnificent Strang" and agreed to transport them to Berlin. Before they were able to get to Berlin, they needed to go to Prague so Strang could do a show that he had scheduled.

Follow along and see what dangers the troupe faced and they were traveling. Learn how and who was responsible when three of the people associated with the movement were killed. Discover what happened in Berlin and whether Breed was successful in completing his mission.

The story will definitely keep your interest and is well worth the read. Don't miss out!

Breed is helping Asst Director of CIA Anya Stein (not sure why she is in the field working this) but it must be super important. He's to meet her in Vienna but on his way he spots a sniper with his sights on Anya.

After saving the day, the job is to help three Russian defectors to a plane heading to the states but they are thwarted at every step by Russians. They are not getting any help from the local embassies and Anya recruits an old contact of her grandfathers who is magician- Strang that tours Europe. With his help they get from Vienna to Prague to Berlin but at each stop, the Russians seem to find them. Breed slowly dispensing Russians at each stop and encounters a frenemy - Orlav (never sure if he's helping or killing- or both).

Seems both the defectors and Anya are in the crosshairs. The mission is not a total success but not a failure either.

Another book in the Breed series. I think this takes us to 12 🤔 it's only the second one that I've picked up so far and very easily read as a standalone book.

It's fast paced but also suspenseful as Breed and Stein team up to protect and move Kromik to safety as quickly as they possibly can. There's a lot of obstacles in the way and it seems almost impossible. There's a bit of magic thrown in too just to add to the excitement.

Breed is an interesting character and the relationship with Stein seems as tense as the rest of the action in this. They clearly have something between them but both seem to prioritise the job first!

Lots of detail in this as it rapidly moves through a series of events. Hardly time to stop and process what's gone on before the next fight ensues!

I really enjoy the Breed novels because they are a quick read since you cannot put them down when you start. They read like an action thriller movie but are even better than watching since you get the added depth of the characters. I loved that in this one we follow Breed, following a magician around Europe.

For anyone whose read a Breed novel you can expect all the usual good stuff including a tightly woven and action packed plot. The pace keeps you hooked so you can’t easily put it down. If you enjoy action thrillers this series is definitely for you.

As always thank you to Zooloo’s Book Tours for the copy to review. My review is always honest, truthful and freely given.

A fast-paced thriller with flawed, quirky characters throughout: I loved that! What I felt was a bit disappointing were the settings. I live in Vienna currently and also lived a long time in Germany. Neither Vienna nor Berlin seem quite right as if the author had never been there. More research would have been helpful for example about names of places (such as the airport in Berlin: it's known as Berlin-Brandenburg not Brandenburg and most people just say I'm flying to Berlin). Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Once again Breed is on a mission, this time directly with Anya Stein. We learn a bit more about Anya this time around. The adventure takes them to Vienna and Berlin while traveling with the help of two illusionists. Of course things go haywire. It would not be a Breed novel without chaos. What I love most about this series is the way Cameron totally draws you in from the very first page. I get so immersed in the story I forget about everything else. Can’t wait to see what adventures are next. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book provided by booksprout.

This is a fast paced, espionage thriller with engaging characters and some unexpected twists. The book is full of not stop action, detailed weaponry and gratuitous violence - the body count keeps piling up. This is the 12th book in the Breed series. It can easily be read as a stand alone, but why wouldn't you start with "Danger Close" and read the whole series. Strongly recommended

One of the things I love most about Curtis’s writing is how effortlessly he transports you into the scene. Whether it’s a desolate landscape or a crowded city street, the atmosphere crackles with tension. The dialogue is sharp, the twists are smart, and the pacing never lets up.

Thrill Kill is a testament to justice, resilience, and the human will to survive. Fans of Lee Child, Jack Carr, and Mark Greaney will find themselves right at home here. Once you start, you won’t want to put it down.

Another great Breed Thriller

Lots of twists and turns with one of two predictable Breed moments but thoroughly enjoyed the historical part of this storyline and having Stein fully involved. Made for a great read now I want to do more research on the history of the Berlin Wall and the differences between East/West Germany and the roll on effect through to today. Probably one of my favourite Breed & Stein books yet

Great to have Breed back! This time he makes his way to Europe, but the location is really secondary to the character. breed is a great protagonist whose skills are put to the test once again in the appropriately-titled action thriller. 'Breed the man, the myth, the legend'. Any of Breeds thrillers will take you on a mission you won't forget if it isn't the non-stop action that has the blood pounding in your ears then it'll be the near misses he gets himself into also the suspense and the unexpected discoveries will be a shock to your system all of this together equals out to be one helluva book.

What an exciting action-packed thriller this is. Breed is back, this time in central Europe where Stein has roped him into escorting some people from the Russians. The action moves between Vienna, Prague and Berlin and also involves the assistance of an old magician.

The magic side is magnificent, the action is brutal as usual and my heart was racing all the way throughout as I read it. I couldn't put it down.
