Hezekiah Song built his empire on fear, violence, and control. Mercy isn’t in his vocabulary.
Willow Jack has survived betrayal, secrets, and scars deep enough to bury her whole. The last thing she wants is a man like him.
But when their worlds collide, lines blur. What starts with chains becomes something far more dangerous—desire, obsession, and truths that can’t stay buried.
Blood will be spilled. Secrets will be exposed. And love will either save them…or consume them.
3.5 This started off strong and intense, but it dragged longer than it needed to. I couldn’t rate it higher because the pacing fell apart toward the end. Nola’s spiral felt abrupt and unearned no buildup, just chaos which came across more like a plot device than a natural progression. The communication between the characters was frustrating. Him taking her car for attention was certainly… a choice, and the constant lack of honest conversation made things feel unnecessarily dramatic. The sex scenes were well written, but at times intimacy seemed to replace actual communication. The author is clearly talented, but tighter pacing and deeper exploration of the real issues would’ve made this a much stronger read.

Ok I saw someone on threads talking about this book and knew immediately I needed to read it. Hezekiah is NUTS and there’s nothing I love more than when a certified nutcase meets their match. This definitely gave me Dark Romance vibes the way I like them because watching Kiah and Willow connect was a treat. I will say this story gave me whiplash. Like things were being dropped left and right and there were a few reveals I would’ve liked to be expanded on a bit. The pacing was unique but I didn’t hate it. I loved the vulnerability Hezekiah showed, I felt like I watched him mature emotionally. I can’t lie, I’m sad about my guy, didn’t see that coming and honestly he deserved better. Overall though, I like the way this author tells a story, she had me hooked from page 1, I’ll definitely be diving into her catalog more!
This was such a good read. Hezekiah was legitimately a nut! But for all his craziness—and there was a lot—he genuinely loved Willow and Monae. I loved his willingness to put his pride aside even when his mind was telling him to do the opposite and seek help. And while I did love this book, it also really broke my heart at the end. I was not prepared for what happened at the 90 percent mark. Like I haven't stopped thinking about it and feeling like it didn't need to happen.
I dnf. When he killed the ex boyfriend and the boyfriends mom for nothing. Like be serious. And kidnapping to say she ain’t safe? Duh he kidnapped her! It had sooo much potential. Real dumb how Willow’s best friend is all of a sudden a murderous nut job.

This book was soo Good!! I related to this book a lot a whole lot and I love this book from the first page to the last page. I wish I could give this Book 1000 stars but 5 will do for now so if you have this book in your TBR gone read it you won’t be disappointed!! SUN did her Big One with this Book!!!!!
This one was a cool read, I did dislike how the characters would repeat the same thing over and over but other than that… it was a pretty decent read. Also, their reactions to major, real life things were anticlimactic… either way. Read it!
This was a good story, a LOT to unpack, bad egg donors on both sides, but there was love and growth. That dang Nola. I knew it was her that took out Nazir. The consequences of decisions made. All Naz and Kiah went through just for him to get taking out by a deranged female is wild. That part of the story, I didn't like.
I wouldn't recommend. Too many repetitive words in almost every chapter. The storyline was just so disjointed and somewhat incomplete. There was no growth or difference in the characters , they were just not interesting. One character's behavior was a significant part of the story , but didn't get explained.
I’m not sure why people rated this so low. It was a solid 4.5 for me. His growth, his journey to healing, the loss he endured and still found reasons to love! Whooo. I literally went through so many emotions. The spice was an afterthought because of the themes the book touched on. I really enjoyed this read.
Hezekiah was all man in this here book here! He went and took Willow and Monae right on up outta there safe place because once he claim somebody that’s LAW! Hezekiah had me on edge, laughing, cursing, other things lol and in the end crying my dang eyes out! Please grab this book and read it you will not be disappointed at all! Awesome Read
Sunshines Urban this another book to remember. It was a great read kept me on the edge of my seat in many parts of it. But over all a great read. So people if you all get the chance and want something to read try this one out. Lata
This book was good! I loved the progression of the characters. Kiah & Willow both went through a lot separately but they healed each other. The definitely was each others ride or die!
Hezekiah is my man ok! One thing I love about Sunshine’s writing is she allows you to see the characters develop whether it’s good or bad. Hezekiah became a man of accountability. In the beginning he didn’t want to see things from Willow’s point of view, but overtime he changed. I love how Willow loved him. The same accountability she had for him, she also held herself to it. This story was soooo well written. Hezekiah is now in my top 5 MMC’s!
