The last thing I expected when I found the trespasser bathing in my river was for it to be her…

Daisy Adair has always been my dream girl. From when we were best friends in high school to finding her now.

A gorgeous mother who shows up on my property with three kids in tow.

But I became a recluse for a reason.

The life I chose is full of wickedness and peril. The last thing I need is the object of my every fantasy invading my space and risking her life because of me.

Only when she tells me she’s on the run from her ex, I promise to do anything to keep them safe, even marry her to protect her kids.

That single kiss at the altar rips through every barrier, our passion unleashed.

Now, living under the same roof blurs the lines I’ve drawn.

Each glance of her down the hall and I am splintering.

Each brush of her hand and I am brought to my knees.

Our future—bright, hopeful, and almost within reach—hovers on the edge of becoming real…

Until we discover the threat surrounding her is grimmer than either of us imagined.

Now I’m fighting to save her and her children before our second chance at forever is burned to the ground…

On the Brink of Bliss by A.L. Jackson

Oh my god, I absolutely ate this up. This was my first A.L. Jackson book, and I’m officially obsessed. This is romantic suspense done right, it’s emotional, tender, intense, and completely immersive.

This is the final book in a series of interconnected standalones, and even jumping in at the end, I was fully invested. I will 100% be going back to read the rest because this story made me feral in the best way.

Cash and Daisy’s story was beautiful, aching, and incredibly swoony. Second-chance romance, forced proximity, and marriage of convenience blended perfectly with danger and suspense. What stood out most to me was the found family, not just between the main couple, but with the children too. The way Cash cares, protects, and slowly lets himself hope again completely melted me. It was emotional without being overdone, sweet without losing the edge, and full of heart.

And the audiobook was Incredible. I’m a huge Samantha Brentmoor fan, and she absolutely delivered. The narration added so much emotion, tension, and depth to the story.

This book gave me romance, suspense, found family, and a deeply satisfying love story. I was hooked, invested, and didn’t want it to end. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Thank you to Valentine PR for the gifted ALC.

Cash & Daisy

Our mountain recluse who speaks in grunts was who I was most excited for, favorite MMC vibes.

Daisy:
Single mom of three
Shy vibes
An awful ex husband

Childhood best friends.

As with this series, there’s danger, sovereign sanctuary business, violence, and a man with a very troubled past that doesn’t think he deserves love.

Cash with her kids was 😍
Big grump melts

Did not see the twist at the end coming.
I almost never do with this authors books 🤣

Loved seeing all the big bad biker men altogether.

If I could, I woukd rate this book a million stars! Amy has given me the story I have been waiting on this entire series. Cash getting his HEA is everything to me. That man had stolen my heart from the second he was introduced in the first book of this series. I absolutely love a story that consumes me and Amy does it every time!

This story is Cash and Daisy's story. Cash is that morally gray character that is in a secret society and he will leave you melting in a pile of goo. Cash is everything and more!
Daisy is a single mom on the run and looking for the only person she knows will keep her safe.
Cash and Daisy have the soulmates vibes going on in this book! I could feel the chemistry coming off the pages of these two. The love these two have can travel space and time. Nothing was going to keep them apart.

Sean Masters and Samantha Brentmoor absolutely slay with dual narrated audio. Sean has the best voice and I could not have imagined anyone else for this story and as Cash's voice. He has that commanding and gruff voice that is always so sweet to my ears. Samantha brings the sweet guarded voice that is spot on for Daisy. Something about the way that she can make you love a character through her voice. One of my favorite things about her is the way she does the male voice in the chapters she reads.

I am so sad to leave Moonlit Ridge. This series has been a favorite of mine and I have been in bliss since the beginning.

On the Brink of Bliss is a riveting conclusion to the Moonlit Ridge series. I have loved every book I've read of AL Jackson's and I'm glad to add this to the list of books I've finished in a day! I couldn't put it down!

On the Brink of Bliss is one of those books that you have to unravel and I was so invested in finding out what happened next. Daisy and Cash have a past that is expanded upon with flashbacks to their teen years, leading up to a life-altering event that caused their separation. Years later when Daisy turns up troubled with her children in tow, Cash is more than willing to do whatever it takes to keep them safe. I loved the storyline and suspense. The plot twist reveal at the end was epic. I can't think of a more perfect ending and the epilogue will have you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

Tropes:
✨️ Single Mom
✨️ Grumpy/Sunshine
✨️ Found Family
✨️ Mutual Pining
✨️ Small Town
✨️ Dual POV
✨️ HEA

“It’s you and me, Daisy. Us. Forever. Because once I have you, I’m never letting you go.”

Note: you don't have to read the previous books in the series to enjoy this BUT you'll see previous characters. Trust me, you will love seeing them in the future. The found family in this series is the best.

Thanks so much to AL Jackson for the gifted copy!

On the Brink of Bliss is an emotionally rich and suspense filled chapter in A.L. Jackson’s Moonlit Ridge series that pulls you deep into a story of long buried love, quiet devotion, and the fierce instinct to protect at all costs. From the very first pages, the atmosphere is heavy with longing and unease, setting the tone for a romance that feels both tender and dangerous.

The story between Daisy Adair and the brooding Cash is the heartbeat of the story. Their past as best friends add an extra layer of intimacy and heartbreak to their reunion, making every interaction feel loaded with what was lost and what might still be possible. Daisy’s return to his life is not just unexpected; it is disruptive in the best way, forcing him to confront the isolation he has chosen and the feelings he has never truly buried.

Daisy is a compelling heroine, defined not by fear but by resilience. As a single mother on the run, her priority is always her children, and that fierce love shapes every decision she makes. Her vulnerability feels authentic, balanced by a quiet strength that makes her easy to root for. The way she navigates the fake marriage arrangement is especially effective, as it becomes less about pretending and more about finding safety, trust, and a sense of home she has been denied for too long.

Cash’s internal struggle adds depth to romance. His belief that his life is too dark and dangerous for Daisy creates a constant push and pull that fuels emotional tension. Watching him fight his feelings while instinctively stepping into the role of protector is both heartbreaking and deeply satisfying. Each shared space, each accidental touch, and each charged glance builds that tension until it feels impossible for either of them to keep pretending their marriage is only for show.

The suspense thread woven through the story keeps the stakes high and the pacing tight. The danger surrounding Daisy and her children never fades into the background; instead, it presses closer as the story unfolds, reinforcing the idea that love does not exist in a vacuum. The looming threat gives real weight to the characters’ choices and makes their moments of happiness feel fragile and precious.

Emotionally, the story delivers on all fronts. There is yearning, guilt, hope, and a deep sense of earned connection that grows stronger with every chapter. The romance is passionate without overshadowing the emotional journey, and the sense of found family adds warmth to the darker elements of the plot.

On the Brink of Bliss is a powerful blend of second chance romance and romantic suspense, capturing the idea that love can be both a risk and a refuge. It is a story about choosing connection over isolation and believing that even after everything has been broken, something beautiful can still be built.

Currently taking a moment to process how much I loved this series because what do you mean we’ve reached the end and it’s time to say goodbye to Moonlit Ridge???

I fell hard for the couples in this series, and during every book, I grew more and more eager to read Cash’s story. Grumpy MMCs are my favorite, especially the quiet ones who do more grunting than speaking, but watching them open up and let love in when it terrifies them is what really makes my heart go soft. Cash believes there’s not an ounce of good left in him. His world is a dark and dangerous one, so he pushes people away before they can get close to him.

Enter Daisy, with her three adorable kids, who’s determined to prove him wrong. Their flashbacks were cute and pivotal to the story. We get to see Cash before he was closed off, in those soft moments with Daisy when they were younger, and why he isolates himself from the people he cares about in the present day, why he walked away from Daisy all those years ago.

My favorite part of the story was watching Cash, the big, beastly grump, go all heart eyes with Daisy’s kids. He doesn’t hesitate when it comes to protecting her and the little ones. Ever since they first met as teenagers, he’s been her safe place, the only person she can turn to. Now the five of them are living together, and Cash wants it to be real. He adores Daisy and will do whatever it takes to make sure they can live a blissful life.

Their book was a wonderful close to the series. There’s second chance romance, marriage of convenience, dark suspense, and found family whose bond is unbreakable. There’s so much love between the couples and their kids, I was beaming the entire time reading. “Family is who you love most,” and the Moonlit Ridge crew is brimming with it.

Thank you to Valentine PR for an e-ARC of this book.

Okay. Fucking Kay.
The meet-again cute?? I absolutely cannot with those damn kids. Ugh. So adorable.

Eva. Addy. Colin.
My whole heart. Chapter three and I was already done for.

“Because it was a cabin that looked exactly like the one he promised to build me when I was seventeen.”

EXCUSE ME.

Best conversation? The bears. I’m still giggling.
The favor? Big favor. Immediately nervous.

My heart broke. Then healed. Then broke again.
Marry me energy.
Super hot bedroom scene? ✔️
Red vines.
The messy house.
Secrets just pouring out.

“I need you, Cash.”
Coincidentally… same, Daisy. Same.

Mr. Grumpy Giant — I will never get over Eva calling Cash that.

The bed scene at seventeen? Ugh.
“I’ve always needed you.”
I was unwell.

“But the one thing I knew? It ended today. No more. I was finished being afraid. I wanted to live. I wanted to bloom. It was time I claimed what I needed.”

Meeting everyone? Ugh again.
And as evident by my previous reviews — I love text threads. It makes you feel like you’re part of everything.

When they finally give in.
The note Cash gives her with the dress???

“You are perfection, Daisy. Every inch of you. Every part of you. This body and your mind and your kind, gentle spirit. Gonna protect it with everything I have. All my dark will stand in front of every threat so you can shine all your light.”

OKAY SIS.

Fuck Ethan.

Friends to strangers to friends to lovers? Perfection.
The children? Perfect.
Marriage of convenience? Stunning.
The past coming back to haunt the ever-loving shit out of you?
Yep. Sounds like an A.L. Jackson novel.

This was the perfect conclusion to this series.
Oh — and yeah — I can’t wait to see what’s next.

I mean… I know what’s next.
You will too.

When you read it.

Cash and Daisy are the final story of Moonlit Ridge. This book is the perfect ending to this series. It brings everything together in the best way! This is an angsty, heart-wrenching, heartwarming, emotional, steamy and humorous story that to me reads like a really good second-chance romance. The whole Sovereign Sanctuary family is here for this and that makes it even better!

Cash is the recluse of the group. Quiet and grumpy but always there to lend a hand to his brothers.
Daisy is a mom to 3 kids. She finds Cash, or well, he finds them. She needs his help getting away from her ex.

Cash and Daisy have a history. Back when they were just teenagers and best friends and things were good, he had hope. Now? He feels he doesn't deserve anything good. But he'll help Daisy and her kids in anyway he can and then he'll see her leave or so he says. Daisy's ask is not an easy one to agree to though. She wants him to marry her and adopt her children so they'll always be safe in case her ex gets to her and she can't see to their safety herself. When Cash's found family hears about this, all hands are on deck to make it happen! But the danger lurks everywhere, so how can this be a good plan?

A. L. Jackson did an amazing job creating Cash! It's always the quiet ones...Cash did not disappoint (nor did Daisy for that matter). He is unlike any other character in this series (Or any I've read so far anywhere) and was nothing like I expected! I 100% recommend this series! Now that it's complete, this is one series I will re-read while I wait for the next (connected) series to start! I'd say you could read this is a standalone, but you'll be missing so much if you don't read it as a series.

Moonlit Ridge #5

This book is pure emotional devastation in the best way. Second chance. Forced proximity. Marriage of convenience. Protective, broken MMC. Single mom on the run. Every page feels like it’s vibrating with longing and danger.

Colt has been in love with Daisy since they were kids. Now she shows up on his secluded property with three children and a past that’s hunting her down. He’s a recluse for a reason. His world is dark, dangerous, and built to keep people out. But Daisy has always been his weakness.

When he marries her to protect her family, that one kiss detonates years of buried emotion. Living under the same roof turns every glance into temptation and every touch into a promise. Watching Colt fight his own demons while becoming a safe haven for Daisy’s kids absolutely wrecked me.

My favorite part is the way Colt loves not just Daisy, but her children too. The found family energy is everything. He doesn’t just want her. He wants to keep them. Protect them. Give them a forever.

If you love aching second chances, broken heroes, single mom romance, and small-town suspense that keeps you holding your breath, this one will own your heart.

Tropes and vibes
💔 Second chance romance
💍 Marriage of convenience
🛖 Reclusive protector MMC
🧸 Single mom with kids

Amy the story teller that you are.

This book was such a perfect way to wrap up this series. I was both most excited for this book and absolutely dreading it because that meant another series coming to an end, but there was enough sprinkled in here to give hints to what the next series was coming (then at the end she straight up tells us what's coming) so now I'm only excited for what's to come!

Cash's book is one that I was probably most excited for, because he was such a surly recluse I couldn't wait to get deeper into his background of whatever it was that made him this way and oh my GOSH. Idk what I was expecting, but it wasn't THAT.

As a long time big fan of Amy's books and having read her entire backlist (most of it twice), my predictions surrounding the "big bad" and who was involved were accurate but it was still thrilling to read! I imagine the ending might take some newer A.L. Jackson readers by surprise.

Cash's character development in this book - especially with what we've seen of him in the previous four books - was perfection. We experience his growth and change in both current and past timelines and it felt so realistic.

I also loved that Daisy stepped up to be a badass at the end of the book. She didn't just sit by and let something happen to them, she took action. So many heroines in romantic suspense novels just sit there scared waiting for the hero to rescue her. But she decided she had something worth fighting for - her kids and her man.

Samantha Brentmoor is absolutely killing it in this audio. It was so entertaining to listen to both her and Sean Masters bring this story to life.

Thank you VPR for the ALC.

Oh my gosh…Cash & Daisy utter perfection.

These two have had it quite rough & when Daisy shows up on Cash’s land with her three children looking for him to help her, it seems these two will have a lot to work though.

These two have a long history, meeting in high school & immediately becoming friends, best friends. They become so close everyone around them thinks there is more to them than they know.

But tragedy strikes Cash’s life & he leaves her behind. And she finds a relationship with someone afterwards because she desperately needed to feel loved. But that man only caused her heartache.

After she learned who he really was, she ran with her children to the one man she knew in her heart would protect her. And despite him being absolutely shit off from the world, when he sees her, he immediately helps.

And then she drops her bombshell proposal on him & just like with her children, he just couldn’t say no. Despite him feeling like he was absolutely no good for her.

But watching the slow burn between them really heat up was so dang worth it because he was so hawt after the courthouse, phew lordy.

I absolutely adored the way he attached himself to the children or more like they attached to him. He was so absolutely adorable with them especially sweet little Eva.

This was such a tense yet very hot story about long lost loves & redemptions. Meeting that found family & finally getting that peace they had fought so hard for. And I absolutely loved it.

I wa so happy they both got their true happy endings because they so deserved it.

Amazing job!

** Audio Review **
Be still my heart! On the Brink of Bliss by A.L. Jackson was a suspenseful, small town swoony romance that captured my attention from start to finish. I couldn’t get enough of Daisy and Cash’s it’s-always-been-you grumpy sunshine chemistry that had me longing for these two to turn their fake marriage into something everlasting. Jackson definitely saved the best for last.

Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters perform this audiobook in dual narration, and both fully embody their characters to the fullest. Samantha gives a truly breathtaking performance encompassing all of Daisy’s fears, desires, and strengths. Plus, Samantha’s ability to create distinct character voices is really awe inspiring making those big family scenes even more immersive and memorable. Sean’s deep, warm timbre conveyed Cash’s protective and devoted demeanor, never wavering when it came to his love for Daisy and her children. Both created an undeniable bond between these two that became explosive!

Overall, I loved this book. If you are a fan of a small town romance with a broody recluse hacker, a passionate single mom, second chances, river bathing meet cute, dream cabins, escaping your ex, flashback chapters, red vines candy, marriage proposals, family picnics, new best friends, danger in the woods, risky car tails, spicy wedding nights, intimate conversations, love declarations, secrets about the past, a jaw dropping climax, and a HEA that is pure bliss, then you will love Daisy and Cash’s story. I always look forward to more from A.L. Jackson.

I want to thank A.L. Jackson and Valentine PR, and Christine Miller with VPR Audio for the gifted eARC and the ALC copies of On the Brink of Bliss. I am honored to have been chosen for these advance copies in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have no words. I started out with Piper and Theo’s story and have been so enamored with this series. I am definitely going to have to go back and read the first 3 before we head out of Moonlit Ridge and buddy up with Silas and the Crimson Crows!

Cash and Daisy’s love story is the epitome of love stories. It was so good and I believe this is my first 6 ⭐️ read of 2026. Their story will forever live in my mind. I love the intricacies of their relationship and the flashbacks that helped placed the story on its path.

The kids are too stinking cute! Like I’m sorry, Eva….and her BIG GRUMPY GIANT! 🤣🤣🤣

Also, can we take a moment for Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters as the narrators?! Both of their voices, OOZE and DRIP with sex. 🤭🤭 I mean come on. 🤣 I could listen to Samantha’s voice ALL DAY LONG!

I loved it and cried when he sent her that letter…..IYKYK.

That my friends is how you end an amazing series!!!! These friends..no these brothers have been through a lot together. Each book we read we find them falling in love one at a time…and enjoyed every moment of it. This time it’s big grumpy Cash‘s turn. When Cash left his hometown all those years ago he broke more than his own heart. Daisy is in trouble…big trouble. She wants to keep her three children safe from her ex husband and the only way she knows how to do that is Cash. These two definitely stir up more than old memories in each other…because their feelings for each other are definitely still there. This is a very layered story with a lot going on. Most of all it’s the second chance that these two deserve. This was a suspenseful read that I truly enjoyed. The characters had incredible depth and told a perfect story. A story about family, fighting for what is right and everything in between. A story that beautifully intertwined a love story with danger and a few fun twists and turns. As this perfect series ends I’m sad to see it go but so excited to see the adventures the new series will bring us. I will Forever have a special place in my heart for the term of endearment….Daddy-O.

Book #5 Moonlit Ridge

The final installment of this series and it had me on the edge of my seat at the end! The suspense was nail biting.

Cash is the last single man standing. Grumpy and the lone wolf. He doesn’t think he deserves love. That is until the one that got away returns to his world.

Daisy and her three kids are on the run from her now ex husband. She looked for the one man she knew would protect them.

He vows to protect her and make things right for her so that Daisy and her children can be safe to live a happy life. These two have chemistry and history. A second chance of sorts love story with suspense and loving relationships.

I believe this is my favorite book in the series so far. It incorporates all my favorite tropes. The story revolves around Cash and Daisy. Daisy is on the run with her three children from her dangerous ex-husband. She seeks refuge with her childhood friend, whom she always felt safe with. Cash is not the same boy she remembers; he is a dangerous man, but in a morally ambiguous way. He vows to protect her at all costs. I absolutely loved the story and the narrators were amazing! It’s a must-read! The tropes include a single mom, a fake marriage, a grumpy recluse, a sunshine wallflower, a morally gray hero, a roommate-to-lovers story, a small town setting, a secret society, an ex-motorcycle club, a found family, and more.

Cash Cunningham always had feelings for Daisy Adair so when she shows back up with her three kids looking for safety he offers her help. He is part of the Sovereign Sanctum who help woman on the down low but Cash doesn’t feel worthy of anything more than that. Can Daisy show him that they both deserve more than going through the motions of life? This is such a sweet and touching, second chance romance intertwined with action. Daisy’s children are adorable and I loved Cash with them. Completely swoon worthy! Told in first person and past/present tense to show how they met and what happened for Cash to believe she was better without him all those years prior.

So happy to receive this ARC, thank you 🫶🏼
Wowzers!!! What a book to finish the Moonlit Ridge series with !!!
I devoured this book! It was fantastic!!!
The series finishes off with Cash & Daisy, childhood best friends until tragedy strikes & their paths part.
Back together as adults & their relationship is just beautiful to watch grow. So happy seeing Cash heal from his past & for him to be a part of Daisy’s healing as well.
So great having all the found family back together again & the cuteness overload with all the children.
Loved it 🥰 Can’t wait for the new series which starts off with Silas.

This is the last book in the Moonlit Ridge series and is the story of Cash and Daisy. She found out her husband was into bad things and she divorced him. Now he's after her. She takes her three kids and sets out to find Cash. they knew each other years ago and he left without notice. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a ride in this book. She had been through so much and she's trying to feel safe again. Cash helps her do that. I loved how the kids kept calling him grumpy. The whole Moonlit Ridge series is found family. I love how close all of the characters interact. A great finale to this series.

Such a good ending to the series. I could not put this book down. Finally getting to hear Cash’s backstory was so good. He was always just outside so the mystery matched the man I think. I also love that his story was a second chance romance. Cash really needed that. Seeing him and Daisy come back together was sad and happy. They still had their connection even when one of them tried to fight it. In addition to the ARC I also got the ALC and it was so awesome! Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters did a fantastic job with the duet narration.

I cant thank al jackson enough to allow me to read this ARC. Omg! what a story! The chemistry between both the sunshine fmc and the grumpy mmc. I love Daisy our sunshine, shy, introvert turned mama bear and her kids so much. The way Cash loves them all and the turmoil that man has been going through for so long I was so glad to see him get his HEA. This entire series has been such a favorite of mine. My favorite is the tattoo quotes in each book this one ...... " In silence we must endure." just so perfect.

I am so sad to see the end of moonlight ridge but absolutely loved Cash and Daisy’s story. Although it took a minute for Cash to wake up and realize he needed to let go of his pain it was still a great read. I love how he never forgot Daisy and loved her unconditionally. I also knew there was more to Ethan and why he just showed up and wanted to get to know Daisy, just didn’t realize how crazy he was. I definitely recommend this one and loved Cash’s backstory and his trials and errors. Definitely recommend this one

What a perfect way to end the series! I have been interested in Cash since the very beginning with all the little crumbs in the other books and his did not disappoint.

I loved daisy and her 3 kids. The kids were super adorable. This book was everything and I can’t wait to get my physical copy.

Thank you to A.L. Jackson and VPR for sending this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received an ALC from Valentine PR of on the Brink of Bliss by AL Jackson. First off this whole series is fantastic. Add on that the narrators are Samantha Brentmoor & Sean Masters makes this story top tier. I am a sucker for a good second chance romance, especially when it is done as beautifully as this one is. Cash’s past is so emotional so it’s good to see him get his hard earned HEA. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next for A.L Jackson.

I'm so sad to see this series come to an end, but you do not want to miss the final installment. Daisy and Cash have so many layers to their relationship that neither one of them are ready for a HEA. Through wonderful storytelling, A.L. Jackson once again gives her readers what they expect: Lovable characters and so much depth to how the backstory reflects on the present. The danger and mayhem are just an added bonus.

This book had the audacity to consume me so utterly that the only thing I accomplished on my off day was to immerse myself completely in the emotions and angst contained in its pages. A.L. Jackson’s style of prose moves me in ways I cannot adequately describe. Daisy and Cash’s second chance has to overcome not only evil intent in the present, but also trauma from the past. When past and present collide, the fallout is epic. On the Brink of Bliss far surpasses a five star rating.

*4.5

Watching Cash fall in love with Daisies children was so cute. He carries so much guilt, way more than all the other guys, and won't let himself be happy. Daisy is just always a bright spot in his life and the speed at which he agreed to marry her is so funny.

I received an arc from valentine pr.
