My Mom's Murder: Season 2

Rate this book
In Season 2 of My Mom’s Murder, Lauren Malloy’s search for justice in her mother's 1993 death reaches a critical turning point.

Long-awaited DNA results from her mother’s exhumation spark a new wave of questions. Old recordings, buried family history, and a renewed connection with Louise—the woman who first set her on this path—push Lauren ever closer to the truth. Along the way, suspicion begins to circle someone she never her Aunt Alyson, the woman who raised her.

As she pieces together the past, Lauren navigates tense confrontations, shocking discoveries, and devastating losses that threaten to derail her pursuit. Alongside her own case, she amplifies the voice of other families fighting for justice, drawing powerful parallels to her own story.

Season 2 continues Lauren’s relentless real-time investigation that tests the limits of loyalty, resilience, and truth—pushing Lauren closer than ever to uncovering who killed Lori Malloy, and why.

I mean I didn’t really feel like it was case closed or anything. I just expected a bit more from this story. Not like solve her mom’s murder closure but I almost feel like this second part wasn’t needed. I don’t feel like it added much to what we found out in the first book.

This was a good follow up. Still have some questions but I got most of them answered. It was nice to continue this story and get some more information about this case.

Agree with other reviews. This felt unnecessary. Mostly a recap of what had already been revealed in the first season. And not truly solved. Maybe just a follow up episode with the new details would have been enough.

This went in another direction and there was alot of assumptions about Aunt Alice not only murdering her mother but alot of other people too. Idk. Hopefully Lauren can find peace with it all.

I felt the same as the first, not really a fan of the set up, the fact that it's considered an "audiobook," hard to follow the dialogues. It also didn't add much of anything to the story compared to the first, other than a bit of closure related to Allison. I do feel bad that she never will truly get justice and closure, but admire her efforts.

*** 3.5 Stars Rounded Up *** This is a collection of podcasts put together in the form of a book. Some of the interviews do not have the best recordings but overall it is still interesting and entertaining. I hope that Malloy is able to move on now that she has her answers.

I need the TV series version with Chloe Moretz to be out, but what an riveting rabbit hole of a podcast/human interest story.

Good luck to the author!

Very good listen! I feel like there was the best closure the host could hope to get considering all the circumstances. Really glad I listened to the story.

I really enjoyed getting an update and hearing how things had progressed. I look forward to hearing a season three if possible. I truly hope that this is solved and there is some sort of closure for her.
