Bull's Boy

Rate this book
“Consider my lap your throne. You can sit on it whenever you please.”

Getting passed over by women for his height and for not being “manly” enough has become the story of Malcolm’s life. He’s tired of it and just about ready to give up on dating completely.

What’s the point? He can’t make himself taller and being Mr. Take Charge will never be his vibe.

And not only is his romantic life in shambles but bills are piling up and now his awful older brother is getting married and wants to do a destination wedding.

Malcolm can hear his bank account crying already.

What he needs is a chance to just relax and forget his worries for an evening. What he doesn’t expect is for his giant of a boss to step in and help him out. No one has ever made him feel the things Bull does. He’s quiet and kind, and his eyes follow Malcolm, keeping watch over him.

Bull deserves a proper thank-you. Something that makes him feel as good as Malcolm does after their night out with Bull’s friends.

Something tells him one reckless encounter won’t be his last. Bull is about to change his life… and claim him for his own.

Are you ready for a quiet giant with a dirty mouth and an overprotective streak a mile wide, a lesbian best friend telling it like it is, a bi awakening that probably should have happened before the zipper came down, Ollie-sized cameos, and a very well-deserved nickname based on a certain appendage?

Grab Bull’s Boy and dive into this fun and sexy standalone novel set within the Leather & Chrome Universe!

Audio review update:

I received an ALC from the author and listened to the book super quickly. I love John Solo's narration and he's one of very few -- if not the only one -- I can listen to narrate daddy kink without feeling super awkward. I thought he did a good job with Malcolm and Bull and would definitely recommend. I didn't love the book *as* much this second time around, but that's mainly because a lot of spice in audio isn't my favorite thing.

I have been really excited for this book ever since the author started teasing it. It has all my favorite ingredients, so I had super high hopes. It did not disappoint. I finished the whole thing super quickly, as I really didn’t want to put it down.

Bull is the gentlest of giants with a serious possessive and protective streak, and a dirty mouth that made me blush. I adored how patient and gentle he was with Malcolm during his sexual awakening. He had been pining for Malcolm for a long time, but was very careful not to make Malcolm feel uncomfortable or pressured, considering their boss/employee relationship. Plus points for that.

Malcolm tugged on my heartstrings. He’s not tall or super masculine, and had his self-esteem broken while trying to date women, so it was super sweet watching him soak up all the praise and lovin’ from Bull.

As per usual, Kiki Clark is one of the best in the biz when it comes to writing spice, especially dirty talk. And I’m always down for a sexually awakened character turned desperate bottom. It was definitely a high spice book.

My one critique is that I wish we got more of a background/explanation on Malcolm’s financial issues. Just existing is expensive these days, but it did seem and sound like there was more at play there. Since it was a rather big part of the book, some more information would’ve been nice.

I loved the cameos from the Leather & Chrome series, and the tiny Blue Collar Hearts cameo. You definitely don’t need to have read those to enjoy this one, though.

Thank you to the author for the ARC.

If “friend” was all he could hope for, then he’d be the best damn friend Malcolm had ever had.

Bull’s eyes darkened, his thumb and forefinger gripping his chin, holding his eyes. “Such a perfect, pretty boy.”

“You don’t have to move, baby boy. Consider my lap your fucking throne. You can sit on it whenever you please.”

“I like the idea of you maybe being a little obsessed with me. Even if that makes me a bad person.”

Malcolm tightened his arms around him, wiggling closer. “You know what I mean. I don’t wish you took up less space.”
“Okay,” Bull croaked out.
“You take up all the space you need, Daddy.” His eyes burned, and he wrapped his arms fully around his boy, hugging him close, letting the words and the sentiment behind them seep inside him.
You aren’t too big.
I love you just the way you are.

For the first time in his life, he thought he might actually believe that. “Thank you, baby,” he said softly.

This should have been a novella.

There were definitely things I enjoyed here - Bull, for one, is the definition of a gentle giant with a filthy, praising mouth (yes please ❤️‍🔥), and Dahlia was a standout side character. She brought real value to the story without falling into the overdone “sassy best friend” trope, which I appreciated.

But overall, this felt… bloated. The story was packed with cameos from characters in another series, which I’m sure would’ve been fun if I’d read those books - but I haven’t, and instead of feeling like fun Easter eggs, those scenes just dragged for me. They took up so much page time that I started skimming.

And honestly, I don’t feel like I ever really got to know the main characters - especially Bull. They felt more like side characters in someone else’s story. Their emotional arcs weren’t developed enough to carry the weight of a full novel, and if you stripped out the crossover content there wasn’t a whole lot of plot left except for them fucking, which was hot, ngl, but not hot enough to fill a whole novel.

Also… is it just me, or is it kind of weird that all of Bull’s friends just happen to be into the exact same daddy/boy kink dynamic? Like, no shade if that’s your thing, but it would’ve been nice to see a little more variety in the kink department.

So yeah - fun moments, hot scenes, but ultimately this could have and probably should have been a novella..

Honestly, I only picked up this book because of the Daddy/boy smut. The author can write sex scenes like that really wonderfully.
No rating, because the rest I skimmed over more than I read, as the plot was pretty sparse and not particularly exciting. I was bored, but at the same time, my head was rather mush this week. Hopefully this damn heatwave is over now and I can get back to reading books with substance.

This book here is loosely connected to the author's “Leather & Chrome” series. It's a standalone, but some characters from the series make an appearance. And honestly, even though I haven't read all the books, it's confusing to “get to know” so many characters who don't actually play a role here. At the same time, it's a bit of a spoiler, because now I've met characters whose stories I haven't even read yet.

As for Malcolm and Bull ... Cute and exactly what I expected.
It's extremely insta-ish, not entirely conclusive to me how Malcolm can go from straight to bi-awake to Daddy/boy kink in a matter of moments. But don't take me as a default, I may not have gotten on with it, since I didn't even read so many passages properly.

“I don’t know how else to say it, baby boy,” he said, shaking his head. “There’s no one for me but you, and there hasn’t been since I met you. You’re all I see the moment you walk into any room.”
Malcolm sucked in a breath. “Fuck, I love when you say things like that to me.”
🫠🫠🫠

Bull slapped his hole.
The sharp pain, brief but unexpected, made him twitch and moan brokenly.
“Open your eyes, baby,” Bull said, a ragged edge to his voice. “Watch me wreck this slutty little hole.”
“Yes, Daddy.”

“Consider my lap your throne. You can sit on it whenever you please.”

Aw, I swooned hard a lot of times here. It was very cute.

“But I can wait. However long it takes,” Bull said between gritted teeth. “You know why?” Malcolm shook his head, […] “Because I know I won’t just be your first. I’m going to be your last, baby boy.”

I had a bit of hard time being interested in everything that weren’t immediate moments between Malcom and Bull but these I really enjoyed.

Initially I wanted to round down my rating bc of the unaddressed barebacking but then the hight of drama I was so excited to get to (sticking it to Malcom’s family, especially his asshole of a brother) was pretty anticlimactic and over way too quickly. There wasn’t even time to really revel in their triumph.

I’m always up for a tender Daddy/boy romance but all in all this was sadly only an okay read for me. Although I must give extra props to Bulls dirty talk. It was really hot.

4.25 “Bull made him happy in a way no one else ever had and loved him like no one else ever could” stars

”The caveman in me liked that you were jealous but you never have to be. I am consumed by you, Malcolm. That will never change.”

You know how sometimes you start reading a book and you get to the end of chapter 1 and you just know that you’re going to have a fantastic time? That’s what happened to me with this one. I vibed so much with everything this book had to offer me.

A super sweet romance? A sexual awakening? Two main characters with extreme chemistry? Hot as hell smutty times? Yes please on all counts, this book just worked so well for me.

Mini-Blurb:
Malcolm works at a bar and Bull is his boss. Malcolm is unable to find a date and it’s bringing his mood down. Bull tries to cheer up Malcolm. But what starts as a offer for friendship quickly turna into Malcolm realizing that he might not be straight after all when he asks Bull to show him his dick, in the middle of his truck.

”You take such good care of me.”
“And I always will.”

My favorite type of books are the books where we get to meet two characters and the entire plot is just dedicated to them falling in love with each other and spending every moment together in the process. I just love seeing all of the budding moments of a relationship on page and this book absolutely aced this. This was such a sweet and tender romance with two characters that were super well fleshed out, which just made all of their interactions so impactful to me. Because I was invested in the characters, it made me so invested in their relationship and I was so excited to read all of their interactions.

I’m a massive fan of pining. It makes me blush and giggle every time I read some and this book had some of the best pining I have ever read. Bull has been obsessed with Malcolm every since he first saw him a couple months ago and all of his chapters are just him being mushy and wishing he could be with Malcolm, which was absolute gold to me.

We need to talk about Malcolm and Bull’s chemistry because it was so good. I loved how Bull was so amazed at everything that Malcom did and said, it was so lovely. Bull and Malcolm could not get enough of each other and they kept telling each other that and it was a delight to read. I just loved how they were open about how much they wanted each other and always reached out for the other. Their open communication and want for each other was just so good to read. I loved how they truly saw each other through all of their barriers, it was so lovely. Also, I loved all of the praise in this one. Also the dirty talk in this book? Out of this world. Also this book was full of obsession and posessiveness which was such an added bonus.

”You don’t scare me. What’s happening between us doesn’t scare me. How fast i’m falling for you terrifies me, but I don’t want to slow down.”

Also, the sexual exploration in this one was so good. I loved seeing all of Malcolm’s reactions to what he was experiencing and I loved how he marveled at every new experience.

I received an ARC of this one, thank you so much for that!

Donkey dick having MC named Bull falls in love with sweet, petite MC called Malcolm and literally praises him out of being straight and into liking dick💀😂

Malcolm heard 'you're a gorgeous baby boy' ONE time and figured he was done trying to find a girlfriend when this BULL liked him just as he was and was gagging for a chance to worship him.

Fair play to him 😂

Loved that Bull was down bad for this boy looooong before Malcolm even figured he existed as more than just the boss' son.

⭐️ 5/5 🌶 4/5 — The perfect blend of tenderness, heat, and heart—this book gets it. ✨️

Bull’s Boy by Kiki Clark was everything I wanted and more. I'm an absolute sucker for the gentle giant trope, and Bull is the ultimate example of one. He might look big, intimidating, and rough on the outside—but inside? He’s the sweetest, softest, green-flag teddy bear you could ever ask for. The pining, the longing, the way he looked at Malcolm like he hung the freakin' moon? Ugh. Inject that shit straight into my veins. 💉🥹💚

And Malcolm, my poor precious baby. The way he’s been struggling, carrying the weight of an awful, unsupportive family while barely staying afloat—it broke me. But watching him finally accept love, care, and safety from Bull? Healing. These two are truly soulmates. Malcolm was made to be loved by someone like Bull, and Bull was born to protect a boy like Malcolm. Their chemistry? Electric. Their connection? Pure magic. 🪄❤️‍🔥

I also loved seeing familiar faces from the Leather & Chrome series. Seeing Ollie, CJ, Emmett, Vinnie, Mason, Marv, Six, Tank, and Houston pop in added so much depth and warmth to the story. And the way the sub club wrapped Malcolm up in their safe, welcoming energy? It was beautiful. They helped him discover, explore, and understand himself in ways he'd never been allowed to before. It made the whole journey feel even more intimate and supportive—like he wasn't just falling in love with Bull, but finding his place in a whole community. 🫂🥰

And Marv?? That man has main character energy, and I’m seriously hoping Kiki gives him his own book. 👀

This book stood out so much more than the first three in the Leather & Chrome series for one big reason: the sweet and steamy pivotal moments actually happened on page. They weren’t glossed over or skipped. They were shown—vividly, emotionally, and with intention. And for a romance reader like me? That shit matters. So thank you, Kiki, for not robbing us of the good stuff. 🫶🏻😘

This book is a comfort blanket laced with heat, heart, and tenderness. Highly recommended for anyone who loves praise kink, Daddy vibes (the soft kind), and watching two broken souls find everything they’ve ever needed in each other. 💞✨️

Wow 😍😍loved

I really loved this story. Both main characters were amazing. They made such a nice couple. I really liked how Malcolm’s awaking happened he handled it beautifully. I just love how there was no denial no self hatred just acceptance of who he was. I think one of my favorite things about this story was how smoothly the plot ran. There was no drama no third-party involvement. It’s was a beautiful love story between two, consenting male adults. Bull was so patient and understanding and caring. 5/5

This book was so freaking cute. One of my favorites by the author. I loved Bull and Malcolm's relationship. I loved their friendships with the other characters. Every single time it was just Bull and Malcolm had me giggling and kicking my feet.

The only reasons this book wasn't a 5-star read for me are I can't stand the horrible family trope, and (hot take incoming) I could have done with less Ollie. I liked him in his book; I don't enjoy him as a side character.

Bull's Boy was a highly anticipated read for me, and it did not disappoint - Kiki Clark hit all the right spots with the Daddy kink & hurt / comfort in this one!

I ended up devouring Bull and Malcolm's story, I was instantly hooked and I loved to see how things developed between them. Bull was such a gentle giant, and Malcolm turned out to be the perfect boy for him.

Malcom struggled a lot with his self-esteem and my heart really ached for him, it was difficult to see him get hurt over and over again while dating. It was sweet to see Bull's pining for Malcolm, he made sure to keep his feelings close at first, not wanting to cross boundaries since he was Malcolm's boss. I loved how patient and careful Bull was with him, making sure that they didn't move too fast considering their circumstances.

They had a lot of chemistry, and once things heated between them, it got steamy. The size difference together with the dirty talk and Malcolm's neediness was very hot, and the vulnerability and trust between them added a deeper layer to their connection. Malcolm had been looking for someone who could give him all the love he needed, and Bull was exactly the person he needed.

Bull's Boy was a heartwarming and sweet read, and it made my heart all giddy and melty to see Bull and Malcolm together. If you enjoy Daddy kink with hurt / comfort, size difference and praise, this one should definitely be on your TBR!

This was a sweet little story, with some really hot moments. Great for if you want something low angst and spicy. I will say you’ll probably enjoy it a bit more if you’ve read Leather & Chrome, as there are a fair number of scenes with characters from that series that I maybe would have been more interested in if I had finished that series. I ended up kind of skimming those parts, but might go back for a reread once I finish leather and chrome.

The beginning is super good. We got conflict, a gentle giant in shining armor scene, a small and sweet misunderstood man. The sprinkle of gfy and the awakening scene were exactly what I needed. But after that the conflict has zero precedence. It’s at the beginning and the end, that’s all. Some hot scenes, but the ones I wanted were started and then skipped all together.

It’s not bad but I honestly got really bored. Good characters but I almost didn’t finish. I might’ve enjoyed it more if it was shorter.

I was looking forward to reading this book since the author announced its release. It's been a great read and I've enjoyed it so much.
Bull and Malcolm's story was amazing. Bull had had a crush on one of his workers for a while. Bull worked and managed his mom's restaurant and Malcom was one of the waiters. Bull had been pinning for Malcolm since the waiter started working for the place but he had never said anything as Malcolm was supposed to be straight.
Malcolm was adorable and sweet. He just wanted to find someone who loved him for who he was. He wasn't very tall and women seemed to mind that all the time. Also, he was slender and not very masculine, things that put women off too. Then there was his family who was depicable and not worth mentioning again. He was so used to being treaty badly that when Bull showed kindness and took care of him, he started to question himself. His need for love and praise was touching because he had never been loved before like that.
I thought it was beautiful how Bull got mad at people not appreciating Malcolm's beauty. Bull was a big guy... everywhere, so he too knew how difficult it could be to have a relationship with someone. Bull became that person Malcolm could count on and they developed a lovely friendship that became more when the waiter realised that Bull was everything he had been looking for in a partner.
I loved how Bull was and acted towards Malcolm, caring and worrying about the other man. I especially enjoyed that dirty mouth he had been hiding behind a shyness that only showed in front of strangers. He had such a big heart and was such a good person that it was difficult not to love him from page one.
They made a lovely couple and their relationship was very special. They understood each other and found common interests. Malcolm's bi-awakening was not as surprising for him as he realised Bull meant everything to him. This was such a sweet and heartwarming story about love and acceptance. I truly loved it.

I don’t think I could have liked Bull more. He was so sweet and gentle with Malcolm. No matter how shy, insecure or hesitant Malcolm was, Bull was right there to reassure him, praise him and be patient with him. The evolution of their relationship was so organic and didn’t feel rushed or pressured in any way.

Both Bull and Malcolm had insecurities they had to face and I was so happy that they balanced one another out so well. Frankly, the final scene of the book was one of the absolute best for me, with Malcom really putting some of Bull’s fear to rest.

This was a delightful read. It had plenty of steam and such emotional depth. I love this whole universe Kiki has created and am always looking forward to more.

“I like the idea of you maybe being a little obsessed with me. Even if that makes me a bad person.”
“Baby, I’m not a little anything,” Bull said.

Maybe more of a 2.75 than a full 3, but this was still pretty cute. Very simple, very tropey, but it's what I was in the mood for. Age gap, bi-awakening, boss/employee romance between Bull, a gentle giant restaurant manager who's been crushing desperately on one of his servers for months, and Malcolm, a smaller guy from a shitty family, who's had no luck with love. It's pretty low angst; after Malcolm realises that he's not straight and he wants to bone down with his huge boss, they pretty much just... do that? There is a good deal of whump, provided by Malcolm's shitty family and his shitty living situation and the fact that he's not very well-off, but Bull is a consummate caretaker and is more than happy to take care of him and protect him. And I'm always soft for any kind of caretaking. The friend group is pretty OTT and exaggerated, but not in a bad way. It gets pretty horny, but in a fun way.

There were so many instances where I wished a scene would have gone on longer to give us more emotional depth, or where we skipped over certain firsts and I got a little frustrated. Because this is a romance, and I want to see all those moments on page! So that kinda held me back from giving this a higher rating.

But I still had a good time. I love size difference and I love gentle giants, so this made for a quick and cosy read. Also omg the cats. T__T So cute.

Bull is the manager at his parents’ restaurant, and he’s always had a thing for one of the employees, Malcom. This book follows their love story, and includes tropes like:

- size difference (he’s called Bull for a reason 👀)
- boss / employee
- lowkey daddy k*nk / exploration
- bi awakening
- found family

The authors note in this book said it is a standalone, but part of the same universe that their other books are set in. Full disclosure, this was my first book by the author. I believed the author’s note going in, but after reading, I can absolutely tell that I would likely have gotten more enjoyment out of this book if I had context for all of the characters that popped up in it. The background / side characters played a big role in the book, but without the context of knowing them from their own books, they felt like random people giving the MCs of this story advice most of the time. So before you read this book, maybe read their motorcycle club series first!

The characters in this book were sweet, and I liked Bull’s character well enough. I don’t think this book was bad at all. However for me, it was just kind of boring. Other than some of the spicy scenes, I wasn’t particularly interested in what was going on with the plot.

I would recommend this book only to those who like more of a lowkey plot that’s mostly vibes based, and to someone who has read the other books in this universe beforehand.

DNF @ 41%

Started off promising with Bull's pining and Malcolm having clear love life trouble. The setup was pretty good with nice displays of emotion and desire.

The story lost me at the party with the motorcycle crew. Not only were there wayyyyy too many indulgent cameos from previous MCs (a pet peeve of mine), Malcolm's supposed straightness just seemed to magically evaporate upon hearing that Bull had a big dick (not-so-staight awakenings also being another pet peeve). Idk how a guy who's thought he was straight his entire life suddenly goes an lets himself get a freaking facial with dirty talk on top. Where the hell was the lead up to Malcolm acknowledging his attraction? We go from "I'm sad about the awful women I've been on dates with" to "Bull has a big dick and I want to see". There were hints at Malcolm gaining feelings for Bull, but a drive home from the mall + an invite to a party is much much much too little to suddenly find himself sucking a monster sized dick on his first foray into gay sex.

I also hate unjustified overprotectiveness and jealousy, so Bull's internal dialogue over Malcolm possible love life was super super annoying.

TL;DR: Instalove on Malcolm's part. Might as well not have been a straight awakening considering how quickly Malcolm took to the D. Bull was ok at the start, but the overprotectiveness and dirty talk was just too much of a contrast from his "normal" character.

I hate DNF so late in the book (71%) but I honestly just didn’t feel like finishing it. I’ve read the leather and chrome series by this author and while I loved the books years ago when I read them I know these days they wouldn’t be my cup of tea. With that said I felt like this book had way too many cameos of people from the other series. It took up too much space and I just didn’t care to read about them. I wanted more from the main characters and not them just having sex. I also wish we would have seen them interact more before the whole I have feelings for you and bi awakening was thrown in there because it would have flowed a little better. This is definitely just a me thing. Also can authors stop having exes be friends because that’s just annoying lol.

Bull is described as being really, really big. Instead of being cocky about it. He tends to prepare for the worst. Lovers take one look at him and head for the hills (at least from his experience and perspective). Then sweet Malcolm enters his life. An employee that Bull secretly lusts over. No worries about any employee x boss hook-ups. Malcolm is straight.

Malcolm comes across as a bit defeated. He lives in poverty and struggles to make ends meet. He is a short king and feels that prevents him from having a quality relationship with a woman. He hardly noticed his boss, Bull, even though the man is massive. Until, one day, the hulk of a man gently comforted him after a really terrible date. Malcolm was surprised that Bull invited him out to a party but even more so is what happened after.

Ok so, lol. I am not going to spoil the plot other than to say this was a slow burn. I am used to more smut off the bat. I did say I wouldn't mind more slow burn romance and the Daddy/boy pairing after reading Gray's Shadow. This fit the bill. It was so satisfyingly delish to see this giant of a man be so protective of his boy.

Well, I've read it twice since it came out, so you know I'm rating this high ❤️🥵. Malcolm is kind, petite, and straight, well maybe not so straight as he always thought, and Bull is like this big, gentle sweetheart with a mouth of sin and a huge crush on Malcolm that he's sure will never be more. But here's proof one night can change your life.

I absolutely love all of Kiki Clark's books; I've read them all cover to cover more than once. If you have not read the Leather and Chrome series that this spins off of, do yourself a huge favor and read them all. They're all 5-star reads with a great Daddy kink.🥰

Oh this sweet little book.

- Bull is a 34 yr old gay man working in his moms’ diner. He is quiet, lonely and secretly in love with Malcolm. He’s also huge.
- Malcolm is a 22 yr old straight guy who also happens to be short (5 5”) and it’s causing issues w his dating life. He also has a very condescending and terrible family. He’s funny and smart and struggling financially. And really in every way.

These two find each other and are each other’s perfect match. Once they get together things happen quickly. It’s lovely to see them each find a person who understands them and loves them for who they are.

- no third act break up
- excellent communication; no misunderstanding
- bi-awakening
- Daddy/Baby boy
- No OM/OW
- Genuine care and affection
- Spice is spicing. Bull is a truly protective of Malcolm and is constantly seeking consent.
