Sometimes we know things without being aware that we know them. Secrets of the mind can be buried so deeply that one shovel of dirt removed allows for the release of all. For Katie, those she has stored in hers may prove to be deadly for some, including herself.
Having a best friend like Gia cannot only be very challenging for Katie, but also toxic. While she has considered calling their friendship off on many occasions, it’s their years-long connection that has kept their bond alive. Gia is her best friend. However, as time goes on, Katie’s revelations and realizations may force her to cut ties with Gia.
Gia is a rich girl who has always gotten whatever she wanted. She is manipulative, vindictive, and often rude to most, including her parents, and oftentimes to Katie. Although she claims to have a love-hate relationship with her mother and be “Daddy’s little girl” to her father, Gia stuns Katie when a family secret is uncovered, revealing the youngster’s true feelings about her parents.
Gia won’t let anything or anyone ever get in the way of getting what she wants, and Katie knows that. But… she also comes to learn that Gia is more than just a spoiled brat with conniving ways. In fact, she may be something even more sinister than Katie ever imagined.
When Katie is wrongfully accused of a crime, for which Gia or another individual may hold the key to her innocence, she must ultimately decide between her life and someone else’s.
