High in the jagged peaks of Spain lies the hidden city of Valenoria—The Realm of Veiled Immortals. Cloaked from mortal eyes, it is ruled by Lord Dakien, the ruthless King of Vampires, whose word is law and whose enemies vanish in rivers of blood. To him, the Lycans—beasts of fang and moonlight—are chaos incarnate, a threat to be destroyed.
Elena, his youngest daughter, was born into this world of power and fear. Golden-eyed and deadly, yet yearning for freedom, she slips beyond the fortress walls to a secret mountain lake—her sanctuary from courtly intrigue and her sister Antonia’s watchful gaze.
One night, the lake is no longer hers alone. Emerging from the water is Gabriel, the towering and battle-forged King of the Lycans. He is everything she was taught to hate—and everything she cannot turn away from.
Drawn together by a connection neither can deny, Elena and Gabriel ignite a dangerous bond that defies centuries of bloodshed. But in a realm where love is a weapon, secrets have sharp edges, and a single spark can ignite a war, their union could shatter the fragile peace between their worlds.
Bloodlines will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. And in Valenoria, the greatest danger is not the enemy you see—but the one you cannot let go.
Just finished Valenoria. It is on KU at the moment. It's about a forbidden love between a vampire princess and a lycan king. Even though they're enemies in the same world, they agreed to avoid crossing paths for the sake of peace. However, the peace is fragile, and they're wary of each other. Elena met Gabriel, the Lycan King, while she was out to get away from the suffocating lifestyle her father imposed on her and his kingdom. They fell in love when they started to meet each other secretly. We have the typical forbidden love story. While the book is the on-trend fantasy romance, I say it has its own unexpected moments. I was pleasantly surprised by it. The tale is not only a love story between 2 different species but also the love and loyalty between sisters and brothers. It is a 4-star read for me because of the emotions it invoked in me. Maybe I was in my emotional phase, but tears did roll down my cheeks. No full-blown balling my eyes out, but it's emotional. This is Book 1 of the series. If you love fantasy romance, you might want to grab a copy. The only issue I have with it is the file format. I read the book in its digital format (Kindle), but it's in pdf file format. I couldn't highlight or customise the font. The text is a tad blurry on both my Kindle Basic and Colorsoft, and the layout is horrendous on my Palma.
If you are a fantasy/romance reader, you might want to check this one out.
Valenoria: A Forbidden Love Story is a beautifully atmospheric dark fantasy that delves deep into emotional tension and forbidden romance. The story unfolds gradually, allowing the characters’ connection to develop in a way that feels intense and layered, rather than rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed the moody tone and the weight that every interaction carried. While the pacing may seem slower to readers who prefer fast-paced plots, the emotional depth makes it a worthwhile journey. This is an excellent read for those who enjoy dark romance with a fantasy setting and a strong emphasis on connection and consequences.
This was one of my most anticipated reads. I really was looking forward to it. It started out really strong and the way it was written was kind of like a diary almost but from different people’s perspectives. I’m really disappointed and sad with that cliffhanger/ending. I feel like after everything they did that’s what happened like really come on.
This book is a Fast paced action filled story of vampire warriors and lycans . All the characters have good storylines but the two main characters slow burn romance is my favorite . This book is not spicy but still great the story lines backdrops make you feel like your in the book ,with diverse characters a must read
