Alessia: He was perfect. The one for me in every way. He demolished that eleven years ago when he discarded our relationship at the time I needed him most. I was broken. Left for someone else to bring me back to life. Now, trapped in a loveless marriage, I have accepted my fate. But when my long lost love comes back into my life to unravel the secrets I’ve kept hidden, will my marriage be strong enough to face them head on? Or will this rekindled friendship be the downfall of us all?
Grayson: When I met her, she was fragile and vulnerable. I was the one who put he back together. I’m the reason she is who she is now. Our love may have been dwindling throughout the years, but I was the one who mended her shattered pieces. This isn’t over yet. There’s still time to fix our story.
Caden: I wasn’t expecting to see her again after all these years. The memories and past we share is one that continues to haunt me. She’s the sunshine on my darkest days, the calm within my chaos. I need to keep her and the feelings I still harbor far away. Except, she comes barreling back into my life like a tornado. Unfortunately, I love chasing storms.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this small-town romance book. You feel every emotion through the whole book. It's like you are personally there watching everything unfold. How the tangled past mixes with complications but self-discovery comes to light. 100% worth the read and attention it deserves. Add it immediately to your TBR!
First off please read trigger warnings as some topics are more sensitive to some than others.
SECOND…🌶️🌶️🌶️!!
This book had me completely hooked and dying to know more within the first chapter. I loved the 3 POVs even though I was nervous about it at first. I really enjoyed it. I loved seeing things through all three characters eyes. The character development was great, as was the growth of each character within the story. The flashbacks were perfect, just enough to keep you updated with what happens in the past, but not so much that you forget if you’re in the present or past. This book was great about covering real life issues that so many of us go through but are also hard topics for us to open up about. The love story is absolutely amazing. Caden!! Ugh! My sweet lover boy! I am obsessed! Definitely one of my favorite books I have read this year. The romance. The redemption arc. And again. THE LOVE STORY!!!!
Absolutely loved this book! I found myself reaching to read as many chapters as I could after moming all day. An easy read but I truly felt invested in the characters and their story! Team Caden all day long, i can’t wait to read the next one.
It was nice to get a different type of book. I appreciated the fact this isn’t a Main Street type of genre.
I loved the 3 POV and the small town vibes as well as the tension throughout the book. And I am a sucker for longing in a book and this has that and it’s done very beautifully while battling emotional scars and trying to heal.
I definitely would read if you are looking for something a little different but still good 😊
I really enjoyed this small-town, second-chance romance by Isa Lynn. The emotions between Alessia, Grayson, and Caden felt so real, and I loved how their tangled past slowly came to light. The story had just the right mix of heartbreak, longing, and hope, and it kept me turning the pages wanting to see how everything would unfold.
If you enjoy emotional love stories with complicated relationships and small-town charm, this one is definitely worth reading.
I received an ARC of this book and am sharing my honest thoughts voluntarily.
Loved one certain couple for OBVIOUS reasons! The other mc had me so mad that I couldn’t understand some of the fmcs decision but other than that I liked the story and enjoyed every second.
Maybe this is a great book that's just not my favourite genre. I didn't connect with the characters or their situations, and or the most part, I didn't understand their actions either. The book follows Alessia, trapped in a loveless (and let's face it, controlling) marriage. I really liked the glimpses into what was wrong with their marriage and relationship. I think the book offered an interesting and necessary POV for people in marriages like this. The ideas and themes were good ideas, but not the best executed. The characters felt two-dimensional, the feminism important, but not deep or complex enough. I knew the ending just reading the description on Goodreads. I think the ending and the arcs of the characters were well done, particularly one arc. However, there was no substantial plot or decision moment, and the FMC reminded me of old YA FMCs, where she didn't do much, but went along with things. There are mentions of cheating, control and therapy, but overall, its just a second-chance romance with basic feminism and average writing. I think people that enjoy this genre and read more of it might enjoy it, but it wasn't for me.
I honestly don’t remember reading much about this novel before starting it other than it was a small town romance. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of this book. There are layers, years worth of history, trauma, and love that are covered in this book. We even get an epilogue and an extended epilogue which was fantastic. There were a few twists in this book that I didn’t see coming. The different POVs and different timelines allowed for there to be big plot twists that evoked emotional responses from the reader that kept you invested.
Finally I will say I normally do not read any novels with parental death it in, because it’s personally hard for me to handle. This book had me destroyed before I was even 20% in. This book is an emotional roller coaster with some heavy yet realistic themes. Make sure you’re prepared for that, but also know it’s a beautiful love story. I feel like any good book must make you feel strong emotions, and this book definitely does.
3.5 ⭐️ I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to receive this ARC by Isa Lynn This is a second chance romance and it was full of the drama, let me tell you! I couldn’t put it down. Some actions and decisions these characters made were horrible as hell, but do not fret. There is a lot of self discovery and healing that paired well with the drama. I was so invested in this book I just HAD to live message the author.
Thank you again, Isa, for being so gracious in letting me express my feelings in real time! LOL. I can’t wait to read more from Isa Lynn.
I loved this book. The tension, the spice, the banter, you can feel the string on fate between the main characters and I ATE. IT. UP. I read this book in two sitting, the first was only a few chapters and then life got crazy so I have read anything for a little over a week and then I DEVOURED the rest of the book in one sitting. Highly recommend ‼️
Overall the book was good. I really enjoyed reading about these characters. Also love the fact it’s a small town so that peaked my interest as well. It was an easy read too that.
This small town Contemporary romance by Isa Lynn is filled with memorable moments and such relatable emotions it is hard to believe it is a Debut.
She finds a way to bring fresh and new elements to a genre that is flooded with other great authors and stories, giving us amazing Main characters, angst, betrayal and the perfect amount of jaw dropping Spice!
Caden Hayes puts ALL other book boyfriends to shame. He seriously has no competition. His redemption in this story makes you completely forget he even took a wrong breath.
Do NOT be turned away by 3 POVs. This was a first for me, and it was perfectly done. The way we got to see every part of this story through Alessia, Caden and even big dummy Graysons eyes just makes it that much better!
You definitely want to find your way to Maple Hollows for this unforgettable start to something great!
