Sort of two hours of motivation to get off your butt. It’s not the world’s best book by far but it is good advice.

This motivational guide gives you that instant push to start living your life to the fullest without having any regret in the future. It makes you realise how important it is to focus on those small things you have been procrastinating for a long time in order to survive through day-to-day life.

The writing is simple, direct and easy to read, with short chapters that mix personal stories, quick lessons, and practical tips. It is divided into clear sections that talk about time, procrastination, mindset, and taking consistent action, so you can read it in small chunks and still get value.

Try this book if you want to read a simple and quick read to get motivated towards achieving your goals in life.

This is not just a book, it’s a wake-up call. It’s a reminder that life is finite, and the only moment that truly belongs to us is now. The author beautifully captures this urgency through profound reflections, anecdotes, and real-life stories that urge us to look inward and act before it’s too late.

✴️ The book is divided into three transformative sections—Death, Mindset, and How to Live a Good Life. Each guiding the reader on an introspective journey. The first part, Death, is not about fear but about awareness. It teaches us that understanding mortality is the key to living with meaning. The second, Mindset, explores how our thoughts shape our reality and how simple shifts in perspective can change the entire course of our lives. The final section, How to Live a Good Life, translates reflection into action, offering practical ways to cultivate gratitude, presence, and purpose.

✴️ Every chapter feels like a conversation with your wiser self a call to internalize what truly matters. The author’s storytelling is relatable and deeply human, blending philosophy with real-life lessons that resonate with anyone seeking clarity and growth.

✴️ Ultimately, this book inspires readers to stop postponing what’s essential—to live, love, forgive, and grow now. Because as the book reminds us, if you change nothing, nothing will change.

Don’t Leave Anything for Later is a stark, almost confrontational meditation on time, regret, and personal responsibility. From its opening premise—that the greatest tragedy is not failure but an unlived life—the book positions itself less as a motivational manual and more as a reckoning. It asks uncomfortable questions and, notably, doesn’t rush to soften the answers.

Structured in three parts—Death, Mindset, and How to Live a Good Life—the book follows a deliberate arc. The first section is existential and sobering, using mortality as a lens to examine procrastination, complacency, and fear. Chapters like You Don’t Have Time and Nobody Is Coming to Save You are blunt by design, stripping away excuses with a tone that can feel jarring but effective. The middle section shifts toward mental habits, priorities, and consistency, while the final part focuses on practical, everyday choices that quietly shape a meaningful life.

- It’s a good read for someone needing a quick Pep talk. I’m a 🦥 reader and I finished it within 3 hours.

Essentially it’s a compilation of fluffy feel-good quotes and short stories. There is no author originality and there is a significant amount of grammatical errors. Certain messages conveyed ex. “Nobody really cares about you” or “someone has it worse so you should be grateful” that were repeatedly conveyed were worded in a way that can easily overshadow the underlining message with toxic positivity.

The most valuable part of this book was the call to action: “What am I doing wrong?” And “How can I fix it?”. I did find the compilation of quotes and short stories successfully built the readers confidence up to complete this task but lacked providing tangible tips/actionable advice to support effective solutions.

If you need a quick positivity boost this will do, though if you’re looking for a more of a blueprint for effective change, I’d recommend a different read.

What I Loved:
1) This book is easy to read, I finished it fairly quick
2) The short stories are the secret sauce. They make the advice feel real, not just like a lecture.
3) It’s packed with quotes from famous icons and unknowns - Short & Powerful!

What Could Be Better:
1) I honestly wanted more stories in each chapters. They really brought the ideas to life.
2) The writing style in the final section got a little odd. It turned into a bunch of bullet points and felt like the author was rushing to catch a flight. It felt a bit unfinished.

My Favourite Quote:
"Beautiful days do not come to you. You must walk towards them." — Rumi

Final Thoughts:
If you’re waiting for the "perfect time" for something to happen. It’s never going to come until you act on it. Life is short. If you truly want something. You need to make it happen.

The book was overall good, have read its quotes on Instagram before and realised during my bad times in 2025, it had really helped me get my mindset back, thankful for for this book, overall a good choice to read but only when you don't have much choice for the books. For me it was kind of a book that provides summary for the readers for other self help books, that too only in pointers with it's short stories and already known stuff just to realise it and get it through with it.

This book was a phenomenal, eye opening one about the value of time and the dangers of letting it go by, you’ll grow old and eventually find yourself going crazy over drowning in regret.
Everyday is a gift, don’t spent it through a screen.
Your bad day is someone else’s ideal day.
Life is not meant to be comfortable, so feel yourself from the prison of comfort.

This book teaches you to value your time and your life - to finally start building the one you’ve always dreamed of.
It reminds you that no matter how much time you’ve wasted doing nothing, you still have now.
And now is enough - if you choose to invest it instead of regretting the past.

Audiobook: Quick read to get you over a bump in the road. Need a little motivation? Need some reminders as to how your life should be directed? Need to light a fire underneath you? This very short book can do just that. It felt like a list of advice thrown out, with one or two bound to hit home.

An insightful book to remind you that your life won’t change unless you decide to change it. It makes you aware of the time you have left and how to spend that time to live a better life.

Has great stories and some historical moments. It has little workshops within it.
Some great advice and quotes from many  people in history.

A lot of motivational quotes from 1 million sources are quoted back. Doesn’t make them less true or inspiring, but I’m kind of wondering if this was written by AI.

Some great advice, but once again... just like the art of laziness, the entire message of the book could have been conveyed just as well in far less pages.

This would have been better as a pamphlet - good ideas but not enough "meat" for a book.

Great short book, with timely advice that I really enjoyed.

This one is an easy read, and while going through it, the quotes and the questions that are asked really help to clarify thoughts in your mind and give you some pause on as to how you've been living your life and how best to live it moving forward.

This is a quick, motivating read for anyone short on time who wants something inspiring to reflect on.
