Review for 'A Vampire Is NOT A Pet' by Lexi Rees.
THE PERFECT HALLOWEEN STORY FOR CHILDREN!!!! GRAB YOUR COPY NOW READY FOR A FUN HALLOWEEN READ!!
This is the first book we have read by this author but we are definitely looking forward to reading more by Lexi!!! This book is such an entertaining and fun book for children and adult's alike. Amazon has placed the reading age from 6 years to 9 years old but I am 38 years old and I have 7 year old twin boys and a 12 year old son and we all loved reading/listening to 'A Vampire Is NOT A Pet. Yasmin is desperate for a pet so when her Mum spots and advert for one that has simple dietary needs and sleep all day she thinks she has found the perfect pet!! However, when a box arrives with a bat in that turns into a girl they realise they have actually ordered a pet vampire!! Yasmin is determined to show her parents that she can look after and keep Velma the vampire but things don't go smoothly for her!! Grab your copy of this brilliant book today to find out what adventures Yasmin and Velma get up to!! With a storyline packed with humour, fun, garlic, friends, parties, school and much more what are you waiting for? They help the storyline to come to life along with Lexi's brilliant storytelling skills. The chapters are the perfect length to either read one at a time each night or just to devour the whole book in one sitting like we did. We all also thought that it was not just a fun and whacky story but also quite sweet as all Velma really wanted was to fit in with Yasmin and all her friends which, again, many children will relate too! This really is a fun, fast paced and funny book that kids and adults alike will love reading so pick up your copy today and you can thank me later!!!

A Vampire is NOT a Pet is a fun and enjoyable read. I read this with my girls age 6 and 7 and they were full of giggles throughout and were thoroughly invested in where the story went.
The added illustrations to each chapter helps with the visualisation of the storyline and really brings the book to life. This has an incredibly engaging storyline and is fast-paced. Even though this book is aimed at young readers, I think no matter how old you are, you will fall in love with this book.
It's definitely a book we will be returning to read time and time again.
