Being Amy : A Temptation Story

Rate this book
“Hello, I’m Amy Brown Felipe and I’m going to be short and sweet. I’m so grateful to stand here as the youngest graduate…in perhaps forever, they’re still checking. I’m more grateful because my Mama, Aura Felipe encouraged me to be my best, my Grandma, Cinnamon Black nurtured my uniqueness, my daddy, Jeremy Felipe advocates fiercely for me, my BigPapa Malcolm Black challenged me lovingly to take no shorts and YoYo added to my brain bandwidth and they will all catch a case over me.

Of course, there are so many others, my siblings, Uncle Muha, Papa Brown, family friends and educators who also was part of my village and I love and appreciate all of you. I promised my parents that at a minimum I’ll be around these parts for at least another year…because I’m eighteen and because they need me real bad to help raise all their children.”

AmyGirl Is Here and Oh, My…Has She Blossomed!! 🥰🥰🥰

This series is beyond addictive and powerful—and that’s just the beginning! But let’s talk about AmyGirl… She’s the total package, beautifully wrapped and ready to shine! Truly, she is the epitome of a Dubois Woman—molded in love and truth by Cinnamon and Aura, and fully embraced by her Daddy, BigPapa, and the rest of the family. Watching AmyGirl blossom had me in awe, and I was thrilled to see JII remain true to himself while stepping in as her protector. 🥰😂

Now under the #BBBBrand, Amy (#BrilliantGirl) is flourishing and stepping boldly into her own—though in truth, she’s always had that spark! She and KJ are teaming up, and while I won’t spoil anything, let’s just say it’s definitely something to watch. Mrs. Vernon Menchan has delivered beautifully once again, drawing out the very best of Amy’s journey. This story made me laugh, brought a few tears, and completely pulled me in. It’s a heartfelt mix of love, family loyalty, community strength, and unforgettable moments.

Do yourself a favor—grab this book and if you’ve missed any others in the series, catch up now!! Trust me, you don’t want to miss a single page. Angelia, you’ve outdone yourself with Amy’s story and Thank You!! All of the Kudos Belong to You!! 💜💜💜

Amy

I love this couple. Seriously — I love everything about them. Amy’s confidence is just amazing. She knows who she is and doesn’t apologize for it, and I admire that so much. And KJ? I love how he fully embraces who he is, flaws and all. Together, they’re just real. The way they talk to each other, the honesty, the vulnerability — it’s beautiful.

This story had me smiling, nodding, and even tearing up a little. It’s the kind of relationship that feels genuine, not perfect, but perfectly them. I’m so excited there’s going to be another KJ and Amy story — I’m already counting down the days!

If you love stories with heart, depth, and characters who feel like people you’d want to know in real life, this one’s for you.

Being Amy was something

We've all waited for Amy to become the young adult Amy. Her level of maturity always fascinated me. Her growth over the years seems like a real life AmyGirl. We've watched her live and learn from Aura and her Gmom, Cinnamon, and we knew one day she would become adult Amy. I am happy she and KJ decided to be close friends, much to Jeremy's chagrin. That man struggled with YA Amy. Lol, Aura faired a little better. Overall, it was nice to get this story about our favorite young genius and her newfound career. 4.8 stars.

It’s a young love story but…

… feels like a filler for the series. It moves the series along but not in an extremely exciting way. The read checks in on the family, main and supporting characters, and Center City… which I do love. It would have been more sweet with more spice and heat. I do appreciate that Angelia Vernon’s books are never filled with needless drama. We have enough of that in real life. This series is a pleasant escape and I hope the next book will be spicy,
Juicy and full of love! Reading from the beginning of the series will provide the best experience.

When Amy told Lasha to run her money, I knew this was going to be better than good. Amy is going to be a force to be reckoned with and she ain't playing especially with her Grandmother Cinnamon in her corner. I am here for all of it and can't wait for more. Bravo!
