Banks St. Thomas, well known as the daughter of street legend Prime, loves everything about her life except for her overbearing and controlling brothers. However, now, the young beauty is all grown up, having graduated from college while making her way up as a respected ballerina, and is the only boss in her own life... much to her brothers' chagrin. Grown up Banks no longer cowers under the strict words of her siblings and lives life on her own terms how she wants, when she wants, and for as long as she wants. And when she reconnects with a former but intense crush from her teenage years, she is tempted to engage in everything she couldn't back in the day. Unlike her fantasies from when she was younger though, the relationship is intense, exciting and addictive, but the risk is all the same. Because though Banks is a grown woman, the man she has set her sights on is still prohibited in her household but sadly, she doesn't truly care.
Low, the handsome, focused, yet tortured drug dealer hasn't ever really had it easy. Growing up with an unreliable mother who can't stay off the bottle, he's always had to look out for himself and the siblings his irresponsible mother would eventually bring him. Being a quasi-parental figure to his baby sister and troublesome teenage brother, while coming into his new role as head of a lucrative and fast-moving empire, the last thing Low needs is to be wrapped up in an all-consuming, concentrated romance with a woman he was told time and again to never even look at. Unfortunately for Low, once he has stepped foot into the beautiful but outlawed and unfamiliar waters that is Banks, he finds it difficult and utterly impossible to not only stay afloat but locate an escape route. Even worse, he doesn't want to no matter the dangerous outcome. This love like no other has turned him into a monster, ready to protect it at all costs.
In this forbidden love story filled with tension, angst, undying loyalty, and a bond unlike any other, you will witness what happens when the universe attempts to tear two people apart that have bound themselves together and refuse to let go no matter what.
I’m sad to see my favorite book family go but this was a nice end to what has been a fun journey. I will say the whole situation with Low’s mama left a lot to be desired lmao like sorry I like people to get killed or really completely change and we get to witness it forreal. I liked Banks a lot but I don’t really get why any of the Compton/ St. Thomas be acting like they don’t have the money to get it done. Like after the situation at the dance studio. CALL YOUR DADDY CUS THEY PLAYING IN YOUR FACE. I also couldn’t get a solid read on Carolyn. The love story was beautiful and I’m glad Low went to therapy but I feel like he needed to be in there BY HIMSELF like not just with Whitney. I also felt like in the pursuit of a clean ending the whole drama with Gaia lost its fire like for it to just end with oh she in jail it’s solved just felt like okay so why we even heard from her at all. Can’t wait to see what Shvonne does next.
This was literallyyyy the PERFECT ending to this series!! Idk how to feel now that it’s over 😭 Banks & Low really did it for me! This has become my FAVORITE book in this series!! It gave me all the feels!!! I laughed til my stomach hurt, smiled from ear to ear watching Low grow & mature into the man he knew Banks wanted & needed him to be & I cried at the end cuz yea 😩🥺 The way she built him up after learning what he was dealing with at home & spoke life into him was everything!! I’ma have to spin the block on this one man this was just too good!!! Definitely one of my top reads so far this year! I love Banks & Low Low real bad 😭💕
Banks was not playing with Low at all, and I'm glad Low understood once he came back into her life! The closing of this series is bittersweet because why does this have to end? 😩 I don't want to say too much, but just know Banks stands on Business, and Low makes sure Banks wants for nothing. Ugh, I love this little story so much, and I would probably say this is my 4th fav! Lequay and Asif book tie at number 1 for me 😆. Looking forward to whatever Shvonne comes out with next! 💜
Shvonne said it best , Willow & Banks was the perfect ending & Book 9 just that anything necessary for peeks! Another swoon session. It’s just something about them lil sisters! Story be elite everytime ! Low low was everything I imagine being Asif right the perfect man for her ! This one I definitely will go back and read.. I love them ! Everything they meant to one another neither was coming up off the other! If y’all haven’t tapped in, I HIGHLY recommend!!!
We made it to the end and im not ok 🥹🥹🥹 This one was everything!!! Shvonne really wrapped this up so well and just left me so full! I enjoyed banks and low so much yall dont even understand 😩 10/10 hands down
Im in tears 🥹 this book/the entire series was so well written. Im obsessed with each character and Banks/Willow were no exception. Willow was honest and a stand up hitta and I respected how he came correct for Banks. I have been so excited to get to Banks story and she did not disappoint. Banks is that B and i loved her. The ending was so sweet and I can't believe it's over 😭
This series is top 2 and it's not 2. I will definitely be grabbing every physical copy and reading this time and time again. 10/10⭐️
If this is truly the end, the final few chapters and epilogue was the perfect ending for one of my favorite families. Banks and Low were good together, and complimented each other well. I loved how Low was stepping behind Banks and how Banks accept Low, flaws and all. I wanted to fight Whitney and Gaia, but I digress.. love always wins!
This was literally the perfect way to end a series! Banks book was definitely worth the wait!Miss ma'am you really did your BIG ONE 🤏🏾. This book was 10/10. This book really gave me all the feels. Banks played no games when it came to her heart… and I’m glad she had Low standing on business. Banks made it clear she's the ONE never the two 😌. My favorite part of their love story is that it’s organic, the chemistry between this just naturally flowed. The right person will have you doing things you’ve never done. A gangster being soft for his lady always does it for me… they really bought each other the perfect balance. He bought her comfort and she gave him peace … I really love them ❤️😭.. Low willing to go toe to toe with all her brothers cause he made it clear he was NOT letting our girl go if that ain’t love I don’t know what is 😩❤️. So many moments happen in this book but my favorite is seeing Low get that mom he and his siblings deserved! I really ate this series up and CANNOT wait till get the physical books .. I will definitely be running this series back….
This was a great series and like any series, some books were better than others. This was one of the better ones. It’s been fun watching Banks grow throughout the series and I really loved the mature, take no ish woman that she turned out to be. We’ve all heard of baby mama drama, boyfriend mama drama is just as real. I guess having 7 older brothers can help you know what you like and don’t like as well as what you’re willing to put up with. I love the provider and Procter that Low was in this story. His character also showed a great deal of grow and it didn’t take long for him to learn/get some act right. Banks and Low were a great end to the series.
I love when we get to see a strong female character speak life into her significant other. It’s the best reading in the world. That significant other did not play bout her either
I literally loved Banks. The way she rode for Low 🤏🏾 Babyyy, sis was not playing about that man. The affirmations she would give him and the motivation to want more for himself 😮💨 I loved to see it.
LOW LOW 💪🏾 He wasn’t no slouch either. He protected her fiercely. He went super hard for Banks. He was willing to catch a fade with anybody. I loved him as well. Their love was so balanced. I felt so bad for his home life tho. Being the oldest can be a lot and overwhelming sometimes. Ngl I expected Low to be wilding out a bit but I loved how Shvonne took a different approach.
Banks loved her brothers but I have to say that I really admired the relationship she had with her sister-in-laws too. That bond felt genuine and made the family dynamic richer.
😩 I really was trying to savor this because it’s bittersweet that it came to an end. I love this family but I’m happy everyone got their HEA. Until next time Compton/St.Thomas/Harris 🫶🏾
Girl, what can I say? This book had me locked in from the very first page. Banks and Low’s story felt dangerous, magnetic, and emotional in all the best ways. Shvonne Latrice wrote a love that’s both survival and surrender, the kind that burns slow but heavy.
Banks was not to be played with. She’s her mother and daddy’s daughter through and through, a perfect blend of grace and grit. And Low? The kind of man you shouldn’t love but can’t walk away from. Together, they’re chaos and calm, passion and pain, the definition of “ride for you even when it hurts.”
What I loved most was how real it felt. The loyalty, the tension, the fear of loving someone who could cost you everything, Shvonne captured all of that without it ever feeling forced. Anything Necessary for Her is about two people who shouldn’t have found each other, but did anyway, and loved without apology. And Asif? Still that man. Big Daddy Sif 😉
I enjoyed this. Could it have been shorter? Sure! But I liked this, I really liked Low and Banks together. Banks stood her ground and although she was in her early twenties, she knew and recognised her worth. I love the growth from Low, he truly loved her. Asif will forever be my favourite and I’m happy the author didn’t drag things between him and Low. I loved seeing the family and I think the ending was so fitting. I think Gaia was irrelevant, I didn’t like Whitney, glad she turned her life around but it was a lot on Low. Low has to be my second favourite! This was one hell of a series, most definitely worth the drama. Can’t wait to see what the author does next!
I have all the feels for this 9th and final book in the series featuring Banks who we’ve seen grow up from birth to now being a girlfriend, wife and mother. I enjoyed seeing Banks and Willow’s relationship and the development and support and love that grew between them. I loved how honest they were with each other and how communicative, there was no game-playing or unnecessary drama.
If there is one thing I didn’t love, it’s that perhaps Low’s crash-outs were a bit disproportionate considering he knew he was under surveillance/investigation. He didn’t have to body people for the slightest annoyances.
That said, I’ve loved this entire series and will miss the Crenshaw Kings. I’m looking forward to what comes next from this author.
ShVonne Latrice is amazing….the time of this series spans almost 30 years. Seeing Banks go from an ultrasound image into a grown woman getting her own love story and husband and kids was wonderful! It’s hard to believe this is the end. It’s wrapped up beautifully. The epilogue is perfect and there are no unanswered questions. I’d love to see the families pop up somewhere else in the ShVonne Latrice universe…maybe some other kids will go to Leeci’s day care or another dance enthusiast will see Banks in a show…I’ve enjoyed the Crenshaw Kings series…and I can’t wait to go through them all again!
Whitney really should have been ashamed of herself. I liked how Banks stood ten toes down for her man, what she did wasn't really wrong but it also wasn't right. Willow(Low) he had so much going on but he still held his head up. I love the bonds that they both had with their siblings. I would love a book with them all being together for the holidays I knew that would also be an excellent read.
This is a bittersweet ending. I loved the entire series and will always recommend. Banks and Willow gave me everything and more. It was nice to see Banks become the woman she turned into with all those crazy brothers. Willow had a lot going on but finally we got a mom that turned her life around and get her ish together. Overall the book was amazing and the series is one of my favorites, makes me want to read it all over again.
4/5 — Banks and Willow gave me everything I was looking for. I loved this couple down. The way these two poured into one another and protected their peace. I believe this was the perfect way to end the series, but I’m going to miss the Compton/St. Thomas/Harris family. The bonds built and love shared was beautiful to watch unfold through the pages. — Peep and Low-Low 🫶🏾
I was looking forward to this book and I got to say I’m really disappointed. Hate that this was the ending to the series this book was so boring to me. I couldn’t really get into it. Was sad to say goodbye to the Compton family but with this book kinda I’m goin to say I’m not sad anymore. Maybe it was time to let go. Banks and low just wasn’t doing it for me. But as always Asif is the man. The bestfriend and unique funny moments saved this book for me that’s why the 3 stars.
This was definitely a great read and a perfect way to end this series! It was soo beautiful put together and made my heart smile sooo much the growth these characters made is my favorite thing about this
I'm so glad that Whitney came around and got herself together. I guess Banks putting her hands oh her gave her some act right. I have enjoyed reading about the faimly.
I cannot believe this amazing series is over. From book 1, Shvonne gave the girlies a masterclass on character development and storytelling. I almost wrote this series off, but so glad I didn’t.
Peep and Low ❤️ I loved every thing about this story. They truly would do anything for each other. Even if that means knocking sense into his mama. 😂😂😂
Being the Princess of the family comes with being placed on a pedestal. A male dominant household and their interact with woman sets your standard on how men should treat a woman. The only girl and nothing but brothers (7), makes it hard to date or interact with men. Oh but when you find that one 🥰! Let’s chat!!
First and foremost I loved this read down! We all knew Banks had a mouth on her and slightly about that life. We all know she has her father and brothers as well as the sister-in-laws wrapped around her finger🥰! There was no secret how anyone was coming behind her.
Banks, is that girl and she knew it nor did she hide it. Why would she if she didn’t have to, I know I wouldn’t🥰. Ya girl was save just off her last name alone. Being the grown up she was, she didn’t want nor need for nothing but she lacked companionship🫣! Honestly that was all she wanted besides being one of the top ballerina in the world. One thing I was ten 10 toes down with her on was not settling. She refuse to be with anyone who couldn’t standup for self or her, meaning not afraid of her brothers and father🤏🏾. Them Compton & St.Thomas men are not the ones to mess with🫣! She has every right to be the way she was PERIODT! Who would’ve thought that one night in Vegas would slowly change things for her and she bumps into someone she hasn’t thought about in years - Low🥰. Who would’ve thought your teenage crush would change the dynamic of things. Listen the way I was cheering for this union here 🫣. Though they both were slightly hesitate and I mean just that slightly it was well worth it. I respected Banks standards cause if you scared to meet my brothers and fathers better yet can’t stand up for yourself, why would I be with you🙄! Make that make sense. Now I didn’t agree with the petty tit for tat games they were playing, but whatever worked for them worked for me 🤣! One thing though she wasn’t play about him and he definitely wasn’t playing about her. But the way she checked and handled Whitney listen, I was in tears laughing🤣! Don’t get me wrong I don’t agree with abuse adults/elders but she deserved all that smoke ! I said what I said 🤣! Oh can’t forget the best friend Kailey! We all need a friend like her. She has no issue with getting active behind her friend🤭. There is so much more that I can chat about but again the review would never end!
Willow aka Low, was everything to me. He was a man with childhood trauma and having to step up and be the man of the house at a young age. The way he handled everything melted my heart but that mother of his has me hot and ready to give her the business😡! If I could jump through the pages lol! Regardless of the treatment he did what he needed to do. Just like Banks, Low wasn’t expecting to fall for Banks. Honestly who would want her right 🥰! Ya boy knew she was a force to be reckon with! Can we talk about the affirmations that Banks would always give him. Oh when it became official but still that secret, their energy was everything to me🥰! Now let me tell you what I loved the most about Low, he was not afraid of a thing and when I say he showed that and some, he did just that. The way he stood his ground behind Banks with her brother 🥰🤏🏾🥰! Not just them but Prime too and I respected it all. Then there’s the crash out behind her 🤣! Please stop playing with that man. Besides how he’s coming behind her, the way he way stood for his siblings was beautiful. With this being said, he stood 10 toes down for his and that includes Banks!
Whitney, she was a hot mess and miserable. I felt she didn’t want Low to be happy because of her past. Then the way she did babygirl Waverly had me so upset🙄. She was miserable but the way Banks handled her 🤏🏾! When she redeemed herself I was extremely pleased. We all only have one mom and they are not perfect so I glad Low didn’t give up on her, even though he could’ve.
The Compton & St. Thomas men made me proud cause when all was said and done they stood by Banks when she needed it most. Granted they hope she ended up with different type of man but they couldn’t complain as Low showed up and showed out. They couldn’t do anything but respect it. Oh let’s not forget Lisara & Prime 🥰🥰! I love them down! Then there Gaia. The way she irritated me. Like how you acting out when you got a man. Like I’m lost on that one. She got the Karma she deserved.
I got into this series late in the game but a time was had. Enjoyed every bit of it. This is a series I need on my shelf. The way this series played out was chef 💋 ! Queen Shvonne did that with this series and I can’t wait to get into her catalog.
