OMG ALICIA this series just keeps getting better!!

I loved this one just as much as the first two and I’m honestly obsessed with how each book takes us to a different isle. It keeps the story feeling fresh every time because each setting is so unique and adds something new to the overall journey.

The Isle of Echoes had such a cool atmosphere and higher stakes, and I loved seeing how everything played out the in between. This series continues to balance adventure, tension, and character growth so well.

Nova and Lewis are my favorites! I really enjoyed their story and getting more of them. The found family in this series is top tier. I love how even the side characters feel important and add so much to the story. Vivienne and Owen, oh the tension this slow burn is killing me.

This one definitely had its emotional moments (I had a few teary-eyed moments and I chuckled a few times), but what really stood out to me is how invested I am in these characters and where their journeys are going.

I flew through this just like the first two and now I’m already impatiently waiting for the next book because I need more of this world immediately. I highly recommend picking up this series! Thanks to the author for the arc.

First things first, I want to thank Alycia E. Anderson for sending me an ARC of this book! I am so thankful to be a part of this journey!

My review is going to have some spoilers in it, but I will mark when they start and end so they can be avoided!

Overall, I absolutely adored this book! I think it is my favorite installment so far. It picks up right where Embers left off and throws our crew straight into the In Between. This is where souls go before they reach the afterlife, but something isn't quite right. The crew is recruited to help find the missing goddess to bring the balance back to the In Between on their hunt to find Syrup, I mean Cirrus.

The In Between was very cool, and I loved that this book didn't just take us to another island for an adventure (although I am always down for this). It was refreshing to go to a different realm and build up the world of the Enchanted Isles. A lot of important things were learned here and will have a great impact on the rest of the series. This journey was emotional for all of our characters, and Alycia does an amazing job of making sure you feel everything right alongside them. It was a journey of pain and fear, but also how to learn and heal from it.

We'll start with our main girl, Vivienne. She by far had the best arc through this book. She is really coming into her own. She had some great growth as well as some of the best character development I've seen in a while. You go through a lot with Viv; pain, doubt, guilt. But she gets through it and keeps going, no matter how bleak things get. She finally learns to believe in herself, and it was glorious to witness.

Lewis' mouth was probably my favorite part of the entire book. Our friendly neighborhood plant boy had some fantastic one-liners, and his sass was ramped up. I loved every bit of it and hope he gets sassier from here.

Owen is a man of YEARNING and PATIENCE. Please give this man a medal; anyone lesser would have caved on page 2. I fell in love with him even more in this book, if that's even possible. Some of the things he says in this book....... 🥵 I'll let you find those gems for yourself. Yet he remains a proper gentleman the whole time.

Phineas, our guide through the In Between, was so much fun. His banter, comments, and situations he has previously gotten himself into were hilarious. I know we barely scratched the surface on his existence, so I feel like we need an extremely spicy novella about him and some of the highlights of his afterlife. It has to be spicy because, well, it's Phineas.

No spice in this book! Just innuendos and delicious tension!

***YOU ARE NOW ENTERING SPOILER TERRITORY SO ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK***

The tension between Viv and Owen got turned up to 11 in this book! There were so many moments I was like PLEASE JUST KISS ALREADY!!! But of course, she was still with Syrup, I mean Cirrus, so nothing scandalous happened. Mainly thanks to Owen being a wonderful and moral person because Viv tried to get him to cave more than once. Once Viv broke things off with Syrup, I mean Cirrus, I was excited to FINALLY get a kiss (I mean we have been waiting 3 books for it, Alycia), but NOOOOOOO we have to give Vivienne TIME to HEAL and PROCESS everything. FINE queen of slow burn (cough Alycia cough), but once this tension finally breaks, it WILL be worth it! I am excited to see where their relationship goes from here

Lewis and Nova are my absolute favorite couple too. The way that they both want to learn one another's cultures was so sweet and they are perfect. Give me the badass Drakon princess and golden retriever plant boy all day, every day!

Syrup, I mean Cirrus, was actually tolerable in this book. Granted, he was only in it for the last bit, but still, I didn't entirely loathe him every time he was on the page. I actually felt a bit of sympathy for him because the girl he loves crosses a literal realm to save him, and then he gets dumped almost immediately. Can't help but feel bad for the guy. He also left gracefully and without a fuss, which seemed like huge growth for him. I don't know if we'll see him again, but if we do, I guess I wouldn't be entirely opposed to it.

Phineas got his hero moment and sacrificed himself to save everyone. That was some major growth for this character in a short amount of time. I was beautiful and a good way to go, but still absolutely heartbreaking.

I loved that we got to see Kalon again and Viv got to say goodbye to him. It was probably my favorite moment in the whole book.

***SPOILERS END HERE***

Again, this is my favorite installment of the series so far. It is raw and emotional and kept me on my toes the whole time. I truly was worried for everyone at some point or another. This series is a blast, but it has so much depth and heart to it as well. I would recommend this to anyone who just loves a good story and adventure, but also likes it when the story goes deeper than that. I am now impatiently waiting for the next book in the series or just anything written by Alycia.

Isle of Echoes is the third book in The Enchanted Isles series, and it picks up right where Isle of Ember left off. Vivienne is running out of time, and she’s on a mission to bring him back (I won’t say who to avoid spoilers).

After saving the world by sealing the Everdark portal and stopping a vengeful god, Vivienne Banner returns ad a hero, but at a devastating cost: the soul of the man she loves.

Refusing to accept his loss, she sails beyond the edge of the known world to the mysterious Isle of Echoes, a place said to hold a gateway to the In-Between, a realm where souls linger between life and death. But this world is dangerous, ruled by gods, demons and souls who trade in secrets, grief, and sacrifice.

As reality begins to fracture and her crew starts to fall apart, Vivienne is forced to face impossible choices. To bring him back, she may have to sacrifice not only parts of herself, but also parts of the crew she’s traveling with.

I’m loving this series so much, and I can’t wait to read more about Vivienne’s journey and the crew. In this book, there’s a bit of tension between her and one member of the crew, and I really hope we get more scenes of them together in the next book.

Isle of Echoes is full of yearning and feels like a journey through the stages of grief. I’ve been Team Owen since book one, and I really hope Vivienne will end up with him.

The side characters are incredibly important and well written, and I’m so excited to read book four!!

A huge thanks to Alycia E. Anderson for the opportunity to read this book in advance in exchange of an honest review.

🇮🇹:

Isle of Echoes è il terzo libro della serie The Enchanted Isles, e riprende esattamente da dove era finito Isle of Ember.

Thank you Alycia for allowing me to have an advance reader copy of this book. Below is an honest review in return:

This book was an absolute journey. The description of the Isle of Echoes painted an enchanting and eerie scene at times but also a wholesome and real one as well. Everything about the trip to this isle is set at a break neck pace where they are literally racing against time and lives are on the line.

I genuinely think I held my breath for a majority of this book and definitely cried enough to make my spouse concerned and earned me a point of ice cream to make me happy again after I read the last page.

There is so much learning and growing in this book. Not just for Viv but for many around her. It seems as though answers are slowly unraveling but even more question come up because of it. Choices have to be made in this moment and roads have to be walked whether you’re ready or not. I cannot wait to see what happens next

Review:

First and foremost, thank you so much to Alycia E. Anderson for the gifted eARC—what an absolute honor to return to this world a little early.

Starting book three of The Enchanted Isles series felt like coming home after a long vacation. You know that feeling when you step back into a place that’s familiar, comforting, and full of memories? That’s exactly what this series continuously brings to the table for me. This series holds such a special place in my heart and continues to feed my adventurous soul in the best possible way. The world is vibrant, the stakes are high, and every time I open one of these books I feel like I’m setting sail on another epic journey.

If you’re trying to picture the vibe of this series, imagine Throne of Glass, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Shadowhunters all woven together into one sweeping fantasy adventure. You get the epic stakes and emotional depth, the swashbuckling danger and sea-bound escapades, and the intense character dynamics that keep you completely invested. And the love triangles, the slow burn, and the YEARNING. *chef’s kiss

Before I started reading, Alycia warned that this book wasn’t a matter of if you were going to cry, but when. And she was absolutely right. This story pulled at my heart in so many different ways and stripped me emotionally raw. There were moments of heartbreak, moments of tenderness, and moments that made me just sit with the characters and feel everything they were feeling. And honestly? I loved every second of that beautiful torture.

Alycia is truly the queen of slow burn and yearning. The tension she creates between characters is unmatched. Owen and Vivienne? They’ve evolved in the most delicious way. They’re bolder now, more confident, more flirtatious. AND the chemistry between them absolutely BEGINS to heat. Every interaction had me grinning, kicking my feet, and bracing myself for the inevitable moment when that spark finally ignites. And when it does? (Because let’s be honest; I know we will wait for a little while longer for it to ignite) I just know Commander Owen Thorne is going to completely capture my heart and hold it hostage in their romance. By ropes. To the bed post.

Wait - what?

Anyways….

One character I especially loved seeing grow in this installment was Lewis. Yes, he absolutely delivers the comedic relief—his timing and personality bring so much levity to the story. But! He’s also developed so much depth. Watching him grow into himself, gain confidence, and navigate the vulnerability of falling in love with Nova, a literal princess, was incredibly rewarding. His journey added so much heart to the story. And giggles.

This book also delivered something I always appreciate in a long-running series: closure where it mattered, while still opening new doors for what’s to come. Certain story arcs felt satisfying and complete (looking at you CiCi), yet the world in its entirety still feels wide open for future adventures. I finished the book feeling full, peaceful, and excited all at once—the perfect emotional balance at the end of a great fantasy installment.

Alycia, truly well done. This was another fantastic addition to an already incredible series. Your storytelling, your characters, and the world you’ve created continue to pull readers deeper with every book.

I will never NOT recommend this series.

I don’t even know how to review this book in a way that feels adequate… but I’m going to try.

This series continues to completely consume me. I am so deeply attached to these characters and their dynamic—it’s one of those casts that just feels alive. Lewis is once again the perfect comedic relief, balancing out the heavier moments in a way that never feels forced.

One of my favorite things about this series is how each book feels like its own adventure while still picking up right where the last one ended. There’s no slow build—you’re thrown straight into the action, and it WORKS.

The found family? Elite.
The settings and quests? So immersive.
The emotional tension? Actually insane.

And can we talk about the yearning for a second??? Because Alycia E. Anderson might genuinely be the queen of yearning. The tension in this book had me stressed in the best way. We’re three books in and I am STILL not confident who the love interest is—and somehow that just makes me more invested. My opinion changes every single book.

This one made me laugh out loud, and it also made me cry real tears. Like fully wrecked me.

Every book in this series gets better, and I truly mean that. Being on Alycia’s ARC team this past year has been such an honor, and watching this story unfold in real time has been such a cool experience.

I don’t know how to explain it other than this:
this book was perfection. A masterpiece.

Isle of Echoes by Alycia E. Anderson is a powerful continuation of this adventure filled, heart driven series and the stakes of what they have to give of themselves is even higher than before. This third installment takes everything we loved about this crew and pushes it further. Their journey to break the curse grows darker, more dangerous, and emotionally heavier with every step. The world expands, the tension tightens, and you can feel how close they are… and yet how much it cost them. What really stood out to me in this book is how deeply personal it feels. Each character is carrying their own grief, their own past, and watching them confront those pieces of themselves added so much emotional depth to the story. There were moments that genuinely hurt my heart to read. I also absolutely love the way Anderson writes witty banter between the characters, it brings so much life and balance to the heavier moments. And the addition of a new character who can actually keep up with (and challenge) this crew? They truly give everyone a run for their money. The romance dynamics continue to evolve in such an interesting way. What once felt like a love square has now sharpened into a love triangle, while a new romance quietly blooms between two beloved characters (and I am so here for it). And that ending?? Such a strong setup for book four. I received a complementary advance review copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Wanting anything from him was a risk she couldn’t afford. She didn’t want to hurt him more than she already had.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Isle of Echoes was the most epic adventure. The Enchanted Isles series keeps getting better and better with each book. Vivienne is always charging into danger without a second thought for those she cares about. In book 3 she is really coming into her own as she tries to sort out her powers and the love triangle that she’s found herself in.

I don’t want to say a lot and spoil anything as this is book 3 in the series, but if you like epic fantasy with lots of adventure this is a must read series. There are so many well-developed side characters and multiple love stories along with the crazy quests that they embark on.

While there isn’t a lot of explicit spice, there is the most delicious angst and banter. The yearning is painful and lovely. I highlighted SOOO many quotes in this book, especially from my favorite Commander Owen Thorne.

Thank you to Alycia E. Anderson for the e-arc. All opinions are my own.

OMG ALYCIA!!!! this series is amazing!!

thank you so much for this arc.

the tension was everything. the characters are so well written. the way you portray how each of them handles grief and love. I ate this book up as I did the first 2. I can tell we still have so much more to learn about when it comes to the characters. each of their stories so complex and captivating. normally I dont like love triangles but this one had me feeling everything. I was cheering on 1 while despising another (why did I feel so strongly about fictional characters 😂) I was beefing like it was twilight Edward vs Jacob all over again. cannot wait to continue this series

The pacing on this made it hard to put down. I ended up reading the entire thing in one sitting. The side characters really shone in this one. I loved the addition of boat boy AKA Phineas (Another solid nickname from Demetri). A lot of fun bantering from the group. Even when they're in danger, Lewis is still being a plant nerd. I really loved Nova and Lewis together (even if Demetri didn't lmao). Their journey through the In Between was heartbreaking at times. The world building in the In Between was neat as well. Can't wait for the next one!

Ughhh Alycia out here playing with my heart strings… so many of these characters feel real. I’m invested in all their stories.

It’s 12:30 and I have to wake up early but I couldn’t stop. I had to know how this adventure ended.

Needless to say, I enjoyed the book and I’ll write more later 💜

✨ These books feel like coming home. ✨

Book 3 ensnared my heart all over again, and now that I’ve had to say goodbye to these characters, at least for now, in the long stretch between this book and the next - I feel strangely adrift. Honestly, I think that’s how you know a book has truly worked its magic. When the story ends but the ache of leaving it behind lingers.

Where do I even begin?

The Isle of Echoes had me completely transfixed. Between the quest, secrets unravelling, tension, grief, love, desire, and restraint, the emotions poured out of me in waves. The highs and lows were relentless. I. Couldn’t. Put. This. Book. Down.

And good god… I cried.

Maybe it’s because I’ve experienced loss in my own life, but some of the storylines resonated so deeply it almost felt painful to read. Yet it was handled with such care, beauty, and respect that it never felt overwhelming, just profoundly moving. Everyone has been touched my trauma in some way, but Demitri’s in particular, hit me square in the feels - cue the tears streaming.

I also have to give a special mention to Lewis and Phinneus for the perfectly timed comedic relief. Their clever one-liners were like little sparks of light during the darker moments, helping soften the emotional blows when the story became particularly heavy. Sometimes their humour arrived at moments that might even be considered wildly inappropriate, which, somehow, only made it funnier.

This series really shines when it comes to its characters. The cast is wonderfully layered, and each of them feels important in their own way. Every single one has firmly landed on my “do not harm” list. Of course, I have my favourites (and maybe one I’m still warming to), but watching their individual journeys develop further in this book was incredibly rewarding and never once was I not interested in a characters developing arc.

And can we talk about the slow burn for a moment? Vivienne and Thorne are a masterclass in this exact trope.

Because wow. The torture of it all. We’re now three books in and I have never wanted two characters to get together more. The subtle hints sprinkled throughout the story were delicious, those little moments that make you pause and go wait… did that just happen? “Who will she claim?” Ahem.
The fact that it seems to fly right over their heads only makes it more agonising. I’m fairly certain every devoted reader of this series is screaming the same answer from the rooftops.
We know.
They just…walk the tightest tight rope ever. But when it does lean to the side of naughty- I AM SO HERE FOR IT.
All I will say is this: the slow burn is torturous. Agonising. We are teased far beyond what should be considered fair, and it will keep you flipping those pages in desperate hope for something, anything. And I absolutely cannot wait to see how that tension finally unfolds in the next book.

Thorne. Owen. Commander.

Here we have our walking green flag. Possibly the most restraint I’ve ever seen from a man in a book. This man… he is equal parts loyal, kind, protective, and serious, yet when that softness slips through, it smooths every sharp edge. Hello, dimple.

I will shout it from the rooftops: I am firmly Team Thorne.

You know those man vs. boy vibes? Yeah. That. He’s all dark features, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion wrapped up in absolute trope heaven.
Yep.
You’ll all fall for him too.

Vivienne.

Goodness… my heart fractured for her over and over again. What a situation to be in. Her journey in this book isn’t only literal, it’s deeply emotional as well. The harsh environment of the Echoes forces her to reveal more of herself while trying to navigate a power she doesn’t yet know how to control.

She wrestles constantly with what’s right and what’s wrong. At times she convinces herself that holding people at arm’s length is the right path, but slowly we see how the warmth of her friends begins to melt that loneliness within her. Her arc is truly something special. Sacrifice. Care. Strength.
Heartbreak. At times it feels like almost too much for one person to bear. But if there’s one thing I took from her journey, it’s this: growth isn’t always loud or immediate and heck. It helps when you have someone who is willing to do anything for you, to protect you, to keep you grounded and safe.

Sometimes it’s slow.
Steady.
And built on love.
And in many ways, love feels like the backbone of everything in this story.

Also, without venturing into spoiler territory, I am fully, unapologetically shipping Lewis and Nova. I love them. Their dynamic is already so compelling, and I’m beyond excited to see where their story goes from here. Everything between them has grown so organically and I adore when one or the other has to learn different cultural ways. The stumbles and the mistakes make it all that much more endearing, especially when it’s innocent and charmingly silly.

But those heartbreaking moments… wow.
The final part of the book hit me square in the chest, and I’m honestly still reeling from it.

I adore this series. These characters have carved out such a permanent space in my heart, and I already feel their absence as I wait for the next book to set sail.

5/5🌟

I am obsessed. I absolutely love this book!! The Enchanted Isles series by Alycia E Anderson is just incredible!! I need more people to be talking about these books. Each book just hits harder and takes you deeper into this world and you will love it! Isle of Echoes is the third book in this series (and you need to read them in order) and my gosh is it amazing. When you’re three books in with an absolutely incredible found family then you are invested in them and what happens to them. You’re gonna feel it when they go through it. But what’s truly amazing is how Alycia can make you fall in love with new characters just as easily. We meet plenty of new characters in Echoes and guess what? You’re gonna feel it when they go through it too. Echoes takes place in an In Between location, a realm of the dead. The crew is looking for one of their own who was lost to a portal and they only have so many days to get him found. Brand new creatures to fight in a wholly different and unknown realm. The slow burn is DELICIOUS! The tension, the yearningggg! I am sat for it! If you’ve read the first two books then you know that this series has a love triangle and this is the book where the love triangle collapses. Who is it gonna be?! The yearning and the frustration you will feel!! Alycia is masterful with this!! There is closed door spice and some very heated moments! 🫑 Did I mention yearning because there is YEARNING!! Another thing that I adore about this book (and this author) is that we get more than one couple to love and to root for! I’m not talking about the love triangle, I mean an entirely different couple and you are going to root for them so hard! I say this every time but it’s true every single time…this is my favorite installment so far. It is amazing. All the stars!✨ Thank you to the author for the eARC. This voluntary review is my honest thoughts and opinions about the book. I think you will love this book if you love:

⏳Haunted, sentient mansion

“It’s you or no one.” 🥹🫠

“All we are is memory, make as many as you can.”

“You can’t hold yourself responsible for the choice of men who set their hands to evil.”

“If Vivienne ever chose him, it wouldn’t be because she was lonely or lost. He wanted her in his arms to the point of pain, but that wasn’t enough. He wanted her brilliant mind, her reckless heart, and her kind soul. He wanted to be the reason for every laugh line carved at the corners of her mouth. To be the name spoken in her happiest memories, the one she chose without hesitation. And by the gods, he would wait until the stars burned out to have the chance.”

I truly need this entire series in my hands immediately. Book after book I continue to love the journey, the characters, the story, and everything in between! In Isle of Echoes we continue to see the crew hunt down every tribute, but this time they also have someone to save from the unknown.

For this particular book, I have to be honest and say I was quite frustrated with Vivienne. But not in a way that ruined the story or how I felt about the book; simply in a “girl you know better” kinda way. We all know and love Viv’s intelligent yet impulsive behavior. In Isle of Echoes, she demonstrates this same impulsive behavior, but it became more and more selfish in my opinion. Her friends love her deeply, but she is constantly dragging them into life or death situations. She loves every dearly, but some of her actions did not reflect that. While it may be frustrating, to me, it added an extra layer of depth and humanization to her character. Which, without spiking anything, I very much enjoy her self reflection and growth in confidence that occurs in this book. She learns so much and makes the necessary changes, but internally and externally, to live to her fullest potential and happiest life.

For the others, I adore them! Nova and Florence are still incredibly badass woman that I can’t get enough of! Each one of them will look death in the eye and life as the fight like there is no tomorrow. Demetri is still as stoic and grumpy as ever, but we also see a softener, gentler side to him in this book that adds more to his character. Lewis continues to be our comedic relief. I cannot tell you how many times his one-liners made me actually laugh out loud. Plus we see a more protective and possessive side of him when it comes to Nova which I thoroughly enjoyed. Then we have Owen, our broody Commander with deep feelings. I continue to love his respectfulness, protectiveness, and sheer obsession with Viv. Then we have some new characters in this book that captured my heart! I won’t say more to avoid spoilers, but I hope you love them as much as I do!

When it comes to the story, the crew continues to get into the WORST situations! But they always battle through with their entire beings. On their hunt for Cirrus and the tribute, they fight against death and time itself to get what they desire. With each new discovery, another roadblock occurs. Time after time things get better to only get worse, it’s a constant rollercoaster of emotions that kept me captivated from beginning to end!

This series has truly become one of my favorites and I cannot wait for the rest of these books! I need everyone to read the first three books immediately and then anxiously wait with me for book 4!

I have been sitting here trying to figure out where to start… so let’s start with this: how does Alycia do it? She’s freaking brilliant. This is book three in The Enchanted Isle series, and every installment feels so unique and vibrant. Each journey takes us to a new Isle as they search for tribute artifacts to break the curse, but this one? This one was different. This was a mission to save one of their own, venturing straight into the realm of the dead.

It delivered everything I’ve come to expect from the series: action, adventure, monsters, goddesses, and deadly peril at every turn. But the setting? Absolutely stunning. The In Between was vividly depicted, thick and still, heavy with feeling and layered with reflection. This world throws challenges at them they aren’t prepared for, forcing the characters to confront the deepest parts of themselves. They were all laid bare, yet seeing them realize they aren’t alone, and finding space for closure, forgiveness, a collective exhale, a release. It was beautiful.

Amid all the challenges and soul-stirring depth, there was so much connection, levity, and love. The banter continues to be the lifeblood of this series, and as always, Lewis absolutely stole the show. Still, as much as the humor brings joy, the driving force of this book is… Say it with me now: yearning...

The yearning had me holding my breath, my heart thudding in my chest. Watching these characters finally start to fight for what they want, or even just begin to understand what that is, was everything. It made my heart twist, be completely undone, and soar all at once.

And can I just say… our captain? He finally let some of that buttoned up propriety slip. We got glimpses of unfiltered thoughts and actions, and wow. I am ready for book four. Give me a dirty mouthed Owen immediately!!

Also, a quick shoutout to Phineas, the newest character to completely steal my heart. He is the Ferryman of the In Between and also its resident f*ckboi. Honestly, I’m a complete sucker for ferrymen, death gods, reapers, you name it, so I was crushing instantly!

This book was brilliant, a heartfelt journey and a story that engaged me from start to finish. We get down to the bones and marrow of characters we already adore, and none of them leave this realm unscathed. But even through the darkness, there is light. So many uplifting moments, so much growth, so much heart.

It was perfect. As always…

0.5 🌶

I want to start by saying a huge thankyou to Alycia for letting me ARC read this amazing book. I was an ARC reader for books 1&2, and I simply cannot get enough of this series.

Yet again, another 5 star read. Just when I think the series can't get any better, it does. I was well and truly locked in reading this installment, I really didn't want to put it down.

The love square became a love triangle, and finally ended with Vivienne making her choice (the only correct choice, which I guessed from the start 🤭). It was so incredibly sweet seeing Lewis finally move on from Vivi and fall in love with Nova. They have the cutest relationship, and they're the perfect pair in my opinion. I couldn't picture either of them with anybody else. When it came to the love triangle between Vivi, Cirrus and Owen, there has always been a clear choice in my eyes. I've never really been the biggest fan of Cirrus, so was literally counting down the pages until Vivi FINALLY chose Owen. Do I wish they would just kiss already? Yes. Am I absolutely loving the slow burn, tension filled, dislike to friends to lover storyline they have going on? 1000% I cannot wait for more romantic content between the 2 of them, and to see their relationship blossom. They're perfect together.

From the start I have loved the concept of each novel being set on a different one of the islands, and this one was so unique and different. I absolutely loved the world building and description of this one, I really enjoy how different each setting has been so far. Phineas quickly became one of my favourite characters, so I was DEVESTATED when he sacrificed himself to save everybody else. And Vivi reuniting with Kalon before his spirt passed on... Sobbing.

The pacing was yet again perfect, and had me well and truly hooked from the very beginning to the very end. The world building was spectacular, the writing style is super easy to follow, and the overall plot is something so unique and unlike anything else I've ever read before. There's a perfect balance between plot and romance, and I physically cannot wait for book 4 to come out. I'll be counting down the days!

This book gets literally every. single. star. and top rating - WOW, just WOW was this book perfection from start to finish. You've gotta read this series in order (each book builds on the previous one and just gets better and better) and my goodness is this a series that you need to pick up! Get caught up now!!

When this book starts, the crew has split up, with 5 of them going with Vivienne to rescue Cirrus, who fell into the In Between, a bit of a waiting area for souls. Now they must find new allies and learn about this new Isle and rescue Cirrus before it's too late.

If you're looking for:

- Incredible world building with different lands, cultures, dangers, and magic systems
- Found family vibes with a rag tag team that you will fall in love with
- What starts as a love....square? But you know who is end game pretty dang quick lol
- The most ultimate slow burn in the history of slow burns that is spanning 3+ books with still no end in sight
- But THE YEARNINGGGGGG. It is some of the best I have read! This is like Darcy hand clench if his WHOLE BODY did it haha
- Owen. Yeah, that's the whole bullet point.
- Dynamic, fully fleshed out characters that you will fall in love with and then Alycia will kinda rip your heart out, put it back together, and then stomp on it again LOLLL

Everything propels the overall story along while also allowing for new stories, character growth, relationship growth, and it just all feels like a movie. I loved the new characters we meet in this - and this one in particular is just heart wrenching in places. I loved learning more about Nova and Demetri, getting to see Lewis come into his own and finding his place, and the growth between Viv and Owen?? Just - UGH, the yearning!!

I cannot recommend this series highly enough. The storytelling is just top notch, peak fantasy romance storytelling and you will not be able to put this series down. I think the plan is for the 4th book to come out before the end of the year and I am at the edge of my seat to see what happens next!

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Spice: 🌶️

Tropes: Found family, epic quest, vengeful goddesses, love triangle, queer rep, slow burn/yearning, Realm of the Dead, monsters and demons

Quotes:
"You realize your sense of chivalry is exhausting, right?" "It's never exhausting to treat you well."
"Though all souls bear equal worth, fate is not a scale upon which lives can be weighed. Destiny does not traffic in comparison."

ARC Review:
Firstly, a HUGE thank you to author Alycia E. Anderson for allowing me to be a part of the ARC review team for this book, it was amazing! This is book 3 in The Enchanted Isles series and while I didn't read the first two prior to this I immediately bought all 3 copies after I finished so I can find out more about the crew of the Zephyrus. FMC Vivienne Banner leads the way on a journey to the Isle of Echoes, the location of the In-Between-the waiting room purgatory for souls to be sorted in the afterlife. As she searches for one soul-His-the group comes to find that the In-Between is unraveling, something is gravely wrong, and their quest just became much bigger than expected.

The world building in this book is incredibly well done, and the author describes the In-Between in such a way that you feel you're walking alongside the characters. It is beautiful, unnerving, and complex, and there are a riot of emotional pulls along the way. This story has pain, grief, friendship and loyalty, an insane amount of banter, slow burn yearning, and an "it's complicated" situationship.

Vivienne is a wonderful FMC and reminds me so much of Evie from The Mummy (one of my FAVORITE movies of all time)--I love her wit, intelligence, and fierce devotion to her friends and loved ones-she literally travels to the ends of the earth to save them! That being said, I think this may be the first book for me where I became more attached to the side characters than the mains (which is telling of the writing I'd say--EVERYONE is just so well done). The character development and complexity is top tier in this book, Lewis and Phineas were absolutely hilarious. The dry wit and quick one liners made the story flow so well, and made them easy to love. The open devotion and vulnerability Lewis shows with Nova was quite endearing and proved there was more to him than just comedic relief.

Overall, a highly entertaining read for those who love adventures like Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, and The Mummy. Highly recommend!

Well Alycia has done it again! I literally don’t know where to start other than to say I’m obsessed with this story. Alycia’s world building is absolutely phenomenal. As someone who can’t really picture things while I read (which is why I LOVE character art), I always feel like I’m right there in the story with the characters when I read Alycia’s books. Each book in this series takes place on a different island so while every book is a “fresh start” and a “new world” to explore I still feel like I’m still right at home with all the characters that I know and love.

I feel like during Isle of Echoes we learn soooooo much more about the backstory for each character which makes me love them even more. The found family formed during this series is next to none and EVERY relationship the characters make is so intentional. I need Lewis as my bestie irl because the man is HILARIOUS and can we talk about COMMANDER OWEN THORNE 😮‍💨 phew that man is Yummy with a capital Y! There is SO much yearning in this story and I absolutely cannot wait for two certain someones to tip over the edge 🤪 Novis is absolutely adorable as per usual and I loved seeing their relationship develop throughout this book.

Now let’s talk emotions…..let me just tell you I went through literally ALL of them during this book. There were parts that had me screaming, parts that had me crying (it truly was an ugly sob at times) and parts that had me giggling and kicking my feet. Many of these emotions are caused by new characters that we get to meet on this island so I won’t say too much there to avoid spoilers 👀 What I will say though is Isle of Echoes is not all sunshine and rainbows…in fact it’s probably more of the opposite. Along the way we see the characters experience so much loss but we also get to see them love and crack lots jokes (even though some of said jokes may be inappropriately timed…cough Lewis cough). This book absolutely destroyed me but in the best possible way. I cannot wait to see where we get to sail to next! ⛵️

P.S. a certain someone will forever and always be Syrup to me now 🤷🏼‍♀️ #iykyk #sorrynotsorry

This is the third book in the Echanted Isles series and this review will contain spoilers of the previous books.

Vivienne and a few members of the Zephyrus's crew are on a mission to visit the Isle of Echoes. They hope to be able to find Cirrus in the In Between, bring him back, and potentially find one of the other items they need to lift the curse. They have been given a deadline of one month to travel to the Isle of Echoes, find Cirrus, and travel back. When they arrive at the island, they notice strange things. The ocean now longer behaves or looks like it should and the island itself is completely barren.

After spending some time exploring the island, Vivienne and crew discover the way into the In Between, via a ferry ride after making a deal with the ferryman to be their guide. The ferryman helps them visit The Book of the Dead, which has records of every single person that has passed away. There they learn that Cirrus has not been recorded, meaning he is still alive. Vivienne and crew have no idea where he could be, though, because the In Between is vast and full of those who have passed. The crew learns that there may be a way to call Cirrus to them. There is a harp that is stringed with every living soul and it a soul cord is plucked, it will summon that person. Vivienne and crew begin the journey to the harp so they can try to find Cirrus.

It is hard to find the words for how much I loved this book and how much I love this series. Isle of Echoes is absolutely another fantastic addition to the Enchanted Isles series. It is very much a story of grief and of lost loved ones. I sobbed multiple times. The feelings I felt reading Isle of Ember and how it ended carried into my read of this book. I had small, fragile hopes of what I would read and this book far surpassed those. I love Vivienne. I love being able to watch her grow as her journey continues against impossible odds. She is so fierce. This series has me in a chokehold and I am dying to read the next book.

Thank you to author Alycia E. Anderson for the gifted eARC.

“All we are is memory. Make as many as you can”

Well I cried. A lot.

The Enchanted Isles and The Isle of Ember were both 5 ⭐ reads, but this one was easily a 10 ⭐ just for the emotional depth alone.

This was such a beautiful story full of loss, grief, and growth. I think it resonated with me even more because I lost someone two weeks ago. Most of the crew got the kind of closure that we don’t often get in real life, and I thought that was beautiful. I learned a lot about everyone in this book through their actions and memories, which helped me understand their motivations better.

One of my favorite things was the growth each character went through. While it was emotional, everyone seemed to come out of the in-between a better and more confident version of themselves, especially Viv. She’s learning to accept that she’s changed and learn more about herself and her new powers.

The worldbuilding, as always, was spectacular, but I think this book took it to a whole new level. Creating a new world is always difficult, especially when introducing a new realm, but it was done in such an immersive way. I could see everything play out in front of my eyes. It was haunting and wonderful.

And of course, we have the slow burn. Owen never fails to disappoint. In a world full of morally grey “I will burn the world down” MMCs, Owen has always been a breath of fresh air. He is respectful and yearns like no other. He is protective and exactly what Viv needs at any given moment, even when it costs him. I can’t wait to see more from them.

And we can’t forget about plant daddy. He is also the ultimate book boyfriend, and I absolutely love the growth we see in him. While he’s hilarious, he also knows when to be serious for Nova. I love them together and I’m so excited for their future.

I genuinely cannot wait for the fourth book, but I know it will be worth the wait. Thank you, Alycia, for letting me ARC read this beautiful world of yours.

This book didn’t just break my heart… it lingered in it.

Isle of Echoes is one of those rare fantasy reads that feels both epic in scale and deeply, painfully personal. From the moment Vivienne sets sail beyond the edge of the known world, you know this story isn’t going to pull its punches—and it absolutely doesn’t.

What makes this installment stand out is the emotional core. Yes, the world-building is stunning (the Isle of Echoes and the In-Between are haunting, surreal, and beautifully imagined), but it’s Vivienne’s grief, love, and desperation that drive the story forward.

She’s not just trying to save the world anymore.
She’s trying to bring someone back.

And that changes everything.

The In-Between is such a fascinating concept—fractured time, soul-bargaining gods, and a realm that feeds on grief itself. It creates this constant tension where nothing feels stable, and you’re never quite sure what’s real, what’s memory, and what’s being manipulated.

But the real strength of this book lies in its themes:

✨ Love that refuses to let go
✨ The cost of rewriting fate
✨ Grief as both a weapon and a wound
✨ And the terrifying question: how far is too far?

Vivienne is at her most complex here—torn between duty and devotion, strength and vulnerability. Watching her navigate impossible choices while her crew begins to fracture added even more emotional weight.

And the romance?
It’s not just swoony—it’s devastating. The kind that makes you question whether love is worth the cost… and still hope it is.

✨ Expect:

Dark, atmospheric fantasy
Soul magic & shifting timelines
High emotional stakes
Found family under pressure
Love that transcends death
Moral choices that hurt

If you love fantasy that blends haunting world-building with raw, emotional storytelling, this one will absolutely consume you.

And trust me… you won’t leave this island unchanged.

Another amazing installment in The Enchanted Isles series!!!! I just can’t get enough of Alycia’s writing and have loved all the books, characters and worlds she has created. Each book is like a fresh story because every setting is so unique as we journey from one isle to another and Alycia’s world building captivates me every time! The series keeps getting better and better and I love the adventure, the slow burn and the character growth as we get more and more books! If you love the vibes and adventures of Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mummy and Indiana Jones, read this series!!!!!!!!
Isle of Echoes picks up shortly after book 2 and takes us to the In Between as Vivienne risks everything to bring back the soul of the man she loves. The realm of the In Between sounded like a fascinating place, as our crew traveled throughout the realm, meeting quite a ferryman, monstrous creatures, familiar souls and several goddesses. Alycia created quite the emotional story as you experience grief/loss, memories twists and a few different timelines and I had tears in my eyes a few times as our characters were experiencing so many emotions. There were several spots where I laughed out loud…usually when Lewis said something and man this book was kind of his and I love him and Nova. You meet new characters in this book as well as see some familiar faces and get closure for other characters! Owen is the man of slow burn and yearning and some of things he says in this book…let’s just say he can have quite the mouth on him! Our girl, Vivienne finally came into her own power and truly figured out who and what she wanted as a woman as she experienced some of the best and the worst emotions and moments! The ending of Isle of Echoes felt me feeling settled and wasn’t too big of cliffhanger, but I can’t wait for the crew to travel to the next isle and see what kind of adventure they all get themselves into next!
Thank you to Alycia E. Anderson for an eARC of this book!!

1000/5 stars yet again

Bowing before yet another exquisite novel by Alycia E. Anderson. I truly expected nothing less. I was so excited to dive into the third installment of the Enchanted Isles series, and it absolutely delivered. I will always recommend this series to anyone and everyone. Anderson’s writing style is beautiful, elevating the lore, world-building, and characters in such an immersive way that will have you obsessed.

If you’re reading this and haven’t picked up the first two books yet…what are you waiting for? Go!!

Now, onto Isle 3, what an adventure. The Isle of Echoes felt vivid and alive, and I was on the edge of my seat through every battle/trial along the way.

One of my favorite (of a thousand) aspects of this book was Lewis and Nova’s love story. I didn’t think I’d ever move on from the idea of Vivi and Lewis, but Nova completely won me over, she’s perfect. And Lewis? His quips and banter were next-level in this installment; I found myself laughing out loud more than once.

The new characters were an absolute treat as well. The twin goddesses, Xanira and Thymera, were breathtakingly described. I could picture them so clearly. And Phineas, the ferryman? Instant favorite. What a character, and such a strong, meaningful connection to the story.

Honestly, I could go on for days. I highlighted what felt like everything, so many incredible quotes and fascinating bits of lore that deepen the world even further.

I am beyond excited for The Isle of Whispers and cannot wait to see how the Zephyrus crew fares on this next adventure.

And finally, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for letting me be part of this ARC crew.

If you loved book 1 and 2, then you will most likely fall in love with this book too! It was my favorite out of the whole series so far and I cannot wait to read the next book. One may think that going to another island may get repetitive but it is an entirely different world and experience each time. The characters we get introduced to in both The Enchanted Isles and Isle of Ember become even more fleshed out and flawed. I loved that we got to learn more about Nova and the General but also still learn even more about Vivienne, Owen, Lewis, and Cirrus. The romantic tension in this book had me smiling and kicking my feet but I also wanted to yell at them at times too.

This book was also an emotional roller coaster in other ways as well. It tested the limits and morals of each member who traveled to the In Between. It is not just about sacrifice but also about how to process grief and let it go. Each character struggles but at the same time they discover who can help support them during the times of change and growth. It is a deeply personal book that has you questioning your own experiences in life and how you let them shape you. I may have cried for the great feelings of loss in this book but I also cried tears of joy for the hope the characters still managed to carry on with. This book is not just an escape but a reflection of self and empathy that I will carry with me in my future experiences. Thank you Alycia for creating another amazing book and I cannot wait to see what Isle we get to travel to next! I love being a part of the ARC crew as well!

The author continues to stun me with each book she writes in this series! The continued world building as she explores each new isle and the introduction of new beloved characters as the story progresses had me absolutely hooked!

You pickup right where the last book left off, with our FMC Vivienne reeling from the loss of the man she loved, and doin everything she can to get him back. She and the rest of the crew must sail to their next isle, the Isle of Echos, that will give them the opportunity to head to the in between and retrieve the soul of the man she loved. As they adventure into this unknown realm, loyalties are tested and the crew is coming apart and Vivienne must decide what the soul of the man she loves is truly worth and if loosing the rest of this family she’s built is worth the risk. Especially since she still has these feelings she can’t understand for one devious man.

This book, just like the others in the series, had my heart in a chokehold! I was balling my eyes out one page and kicking my feet on the next and this emotional ride the author took me on made this book exciting to read in the best way! I loved getting to see more of the budding relationship between Lewis and Nova and the continued flushing out and backgrounds of several of the other side characters. There was even more powerful magic and chaos afoot in this book and that ending had me both satisfied and intensely waiting for the next book! Overall my rating 5/5!

Thanks to the author for the gifted copy, all opinions given are my own!

I absolutely adore this series, and Isle of Echoes was everything that I was hoping for!

This one picks up where book two, Isle of Ember left off with that heartwrenching cliffhanger. Vivienne and her friends go on the hunt to try to find Cirrus and see if he can be saved. Is he dead? Is he alive? Is it even possible to enter the In-Between to find out?

This book takes us on quite the journey, not only do we experience the voyage to try to find Cirrus and see if he can be saved, but as in each of these books, the characters themselves experience their own personal developmental journey. Vivienne has already grown and changed so much since the start of the first book when she was a daughter and a librarian that was fairly safe in her bubble, but in Echoes her personal journey continues - she is still growing into who she is going to be at the end of all this.

This book also poses a moral dilemma: how much and how many should you sacrifice for one person? With her friends surrounding her and their lives constantly on the line, Vivienne has to face that question more than once.

All our favorite character from the prior books are there, and we also meet some new ones. We learn more about the histories of her friends, and watch them face the losses from their pasts, and experience trauma they have tried to keep buried.

In true Alycia style, there are moments that will make you teary-eyed, moments that will make you laugh, and those moments where you dare to see and hope for a future that can better than the present.

I am so in love with this series, and I cant wait to see what she creates for us in the next installment.

Thank you so much Alycia for and ARC of Isle of Echoes.

Isle of Echoes picks right up from where Isle of Ember left us, with Vivienne Banner heartbroken and a crew member missing. The crew commit to finding him and sail for the Isle of Echoes where they embark on a journey through the In-Between, a forgotten island where souls are waited to be sorted, full of nefarious bartering in secrets. Tensions are heated within the crew over decisions made, and consequences of those decisions rise to the surface in relationships. Personal sacrifices are made by all, private thoughts are revealed, and facing the truth of what you really want comes to the forefront for Viv. How far will she go to save the one she thinks she loves?

This third installment of The Enchanted Isles series is so far the most emotionally charged and rocked me in the best possible way. Alycia has a way of bringing the deep, conflicted thoughts of a character to the surface, showing their vulnerable sides and making them relatable, which is what I'm here to read. We all deal with grief, sorrow, anger, and making mistakes, so to read about it in a relatable way makes me connect easier.

The love square from book one has downsized to a love triangle this book, and I am here to yell that I am beyond happy with the prospect of a decision made for a couple moving forward. However, I vote Viv heal from all the ping-ponging her heart went through in this book. Take time to breathe before jumping into the next thing. Although do not get me wrong - I am so looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I may or may not have messaged Alycia when I got to the one room, one bed moment in this book practically GIDDY. The tension and yearning between Owen and Viv is top tier.

Lewis is still the comic relief, but I love that he is coming into his own and developing his own identity away from being Viv's best friend. He is a contributing member to the crew. And his relationship with Nova has me kicking my feet up and down (yes, there are multiple kicking episodes in this book which are needed to offset the dark times).

I'm looking forward to the next installment of this series and hope that it's soon. Thank you to Alycia Anderson for an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book had me feeling so many emotions. The creativity Alycia has to come up with these worlds and characters is masterful and amazing. This book was everything. The best one yet I think. Every character is so real and engaging, even when you dislike them, you understand them. Heartbreak, despair, intense action, hope, humor, romance. You know I'm in deep if I'm sending memes.

This third island is like nothing the crew (condensed in size to go on this smaller journey to retrieve Cirrus) has seen before. Caught in a place where souls have yet to move on, there is danger all over the place in the In Between. Needing to be led by the ferryman (who is our most humorous, yet obnoxious, and somewhat of a himbo new character), there are irreversible bargains that have to be made the further they go on. Add in monsters that nightmares would run from, and Vivienne's power coming to life, plus the most epic of slow burns (we have whittled down the love square), and this is my standing ovation to Alycia. I can't wait to see where this series goes next.

Thank you to the author for an eARC of this book! This does not affect my honest review.

The only terrible thing about this series is having to WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!! I’m so in love with the world Alycia is creating and the characters she’s writing. UGH!! I literally bit my nails all the way down reading this one!! This series continues to get better somehow!!

I admit, I’m an Owen girly. I want Vivienne to get with him SO BADDDD!! I understood the journey to find Cirrus and also visit another Isle for its tribute. I feel torn with Vivienne because I do care but Owen just does everything right in my eyes. Anyway that’s my Owen rant (please let them end up together permanently).

This book was so exciting and when you see high stakes… it’s truly HIGH STAKES!! My heart dropped out of my body several times when the crew faced incredibly tough decisions and adversaries. I had all the feelings from giddy and to sad to scared to frustrated. It was truly incredible. You’ll only hear me sing high praises of this series and I highly suggest everyone read it!!
