USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
Only one more month of Bernadette, I really wish this would become a whole series. Maybe Ms. Bond could roll this six month story into one book, then add more books onto Bernadette 's story. I know I felt this way with Stephanie Bond's other monthly serials. The story is just too good to completely end, or another thought just like Jack, the detective who has turned up in all Stephanie 's series, could all the 'girls' from the serials somehow meet up and the stories go on? Although, I am hoping and expecting Bourbon Girl to have a very satisfying conclusion next month, things have not been looking good for Bernadette this month. She has had an extremely hard month, unexpected things keep popping up. Is there someone watching her, wishing her harm? The list of suspects keeps getting longer as she searches for her yet unknown father. There are so many unknowns in this mystery of Bernadette 's life, what will happen to her?? I don't want to rush through November but this is one story I will be waiting to read on my Kindle at 12:01 AM on December 1, 2025!!! Thank you Stephanie Bond for such a Great read!!
Bernadette is realizing that she’s made a number of enemies in her search for her biological father. Cliffhanger Nov30th (as usual with Stephanie Bond’s serial books).
Usually I read these serial books day-by-day on the internet and stay tuned to the discussions on Facebook. This fall, I’ve been busy and haven’t been able to keep up every day, so I’ve just gotten caught up reading them (in KU) in the last day. However, I find that I don’t care as much for the characters as if I’d spent the last 5 months spending 5 minutes with them every day.
Things are really heating up for Bernadette in her search for answers about her father. She’s got another lead and will follow it until she gets the answers she seeks. Those answers may not exactly be what she is looking for, but they’re answers nonetheless.
Marv’s wife continues to be a pain and tries to bring Bernadette down, but it’s not working. Umm, that’s a no for me. Lol.
What a cliffhanger!! Now I have to wait 4 weeks until the last book! This was so good…so many emotions and new developments in Bernadette’s quest. The reader is rooting for Bernadette and I was sad for her! I love that Stephanie Bond teaches valuable, life lessons within these serials. Just a five star read!
I truly enjoyed reading book 5. Not loving the ending and having to wait for book 6. Lol. This series is really special. It's funny, thought provoking, tearful and suspenseful.
As cliffhangers go, THIS ONE was a whopper!!! I love this serial story but hate to wait until the next month to read what happens. This month of waiting will be excruciating because the next installment being the last, will have all the answers to everything!
I really think things picked up in this month’s edition. Be warned I intended to just read a couple of days ahead to see what would happen with one plot line but I was so caught up I read the rest of the month and now I’m regretting it since I have to wait so long to get back to the story.
There's a breakup between two people, the possibility that one of the characters may actually be a dangerous person, more hunting for the real father, someone ends up in the hospital and some violence. A fairly wide variety of things going on. As usual, pretty good book.
