Riggs installment The Mach-10 is an impactful addition to the business world. Exploring the impact of AI in daily tasks for project managers, the author shows AI isn't a replacement but an enhancement to the business world. The author writes, ‘tools don't win alone. Orchestration creates advantage; summing up, use of the right tool and in the right way is beneficial.

As someone in the corporate world, I found this book to be impactful. Being the type of person having different tabs open yet not being as efficient, this book was a guide on achieving efficiency. The author generously offers image frameworks on what would lead to success in the PM world, getting ahead of others.

As a founder and exec who’s built teams in chaotic, fast-moving environments, I’ve read a lot of leadership and product books. Most skim the surface. The MACH-10 PM doesn’t. It feels like it was written by someone who’s actually been in the trenches, built things that mattered, made calls under pressure, led real humans through real uncertainty.

What hit me hardest was the idea of Speed with Soul. Not the usual “move fast but don’t wreck the culture” cliché. Riggs means something deeper. He shows how speed without clarity is just chaos, and how teams can sprint themselves straight into burnout if leaders don’t anchor velocity to purpose, empathy, and vision. The way he frames AI-driven acceleration alongside human-centered leadership made me stop mid-read and rethink how I’ve been operating. It’s rare to find a framework that moves fast and still feels… grounded. Human. True.

His AI Product Strategy Loop is another standout. It’s not theoretical fluff. It’s the kind of loop you look at and think, “Yep. That’s how my team should actually work.” I’ve tried integrating AI into messy, unpredictable environments, and seeing someone map out a workflow that respects both speed and imagination was honestly refreshing. I wanted to pick it up and use it the same day.

But what stayed with me most wasn’t just the frameworks. It was the tone. Riggs writes like someone who’s lived through the fire and came out clearer, not colder. It’s sharp and practical, but also empathetic. He gets that the future belongs to leaders who can leverage AI to go faster while staying deeply human. Leaders who out-leverage, not out-grind. Leaders who create more meaning the faster they move.

If you’re a Product Manager, Executive Leader, or Entrepreneur, you need this book. It’s clear, heartfelt, and immediately usable. A rare combination in the AI era

Jason Riggs’s The MACH-10 PM is one of the most timely and practical books I’ve read on the future of product management. Building on the foundations laid by thought leaders like Eric Ries (The Lean Startup), Marty Cagan (Inspired), and Melissa Perri (Escaping the Build Trap), Riggs takes the next logical step, showing how AI rewrites not only the tools of the trade but the very speed and scope of the Product Manager’s role.

Where Ries emphasized build, measure, learn loops, Riggs demonstrates how AI compresses those loops from weeks to hours. The book makes a compelling case that PMs no longer succeed by working harder but by creating leverage, using AI to multiply insight, foresight, and alignment across the organization.

One of the most valuable aspects of The MACH-10 PM is its treatment of stakeholder buy-in. Riggs argues convincingly that executives are not moved by polished decks alone, they want proof over pitch. AI enables PMs to deliver this proof through real case studies, experiments, and data-driven narratives that resonate with budget holders and decision makers. This makes the book especially relevant for PMs who need to justify innovation investments in resource-constrained environments.

Equally useful is Riggs’s clarity about where AI gets its source material. Rather than some abstract black box, the inputs are the same streams PMs already have but rarely harness at full potential: customer support tickets, app store reviews, social sentiment, churn surveys, and usage analytics. For example, a fintech team in the book uncovered that reliability complaints, buried in logs and reviews, were far more critical to retention than flashy new features.

Overall, The MACH-10 PM is an excellent field guide for any product leader looking to understand how to embed AI into their workflow. Riggs makes the complex both accessible and actionable, showing not just why AI matters but how to put it to work.

The MACH-10 PM by Jason Riggs is a practical and straightforward guide to using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve product management. Instead of exaggerating the capabilities of technology, Riggs focuses on how AI can help people make smarter decisions, learn more quickly, and concentrate on meaningful tasks.

The book introduces a clear and effective weekly process: review current progress, select one idea to test, build a minimal version of it, measure a key metric, and then decide whether to stop, adjust, or expand the idea. AI supports each step by offering insights, automating repetitive work, and turning feedback into useful data.

Riggs uses simple language, helpful visuals, and real-life examples to explain complex concepts. Readers will value the book’s focus on practical use cases such as saving useful AI prompts as templates, gaining stakeholder support, and automating workflows. Even the section on ethics is noted for being realistic and applicable, rather than overly theoretical.

Although the book moves quickly and occasionally uses trendy terms, the content stays grounded and inspiring. Riggs emphasizes the importance of combining speed with purpose, what he calls “Speed with Soul.” The message is about leading with clarity, using AI wisely, and enhancing human abilities rather than replacing them.

This book is especially useful for product managers, entrepreneurs, and professionals working in AI-driven environments. The MACH-10 PM delivers a clear and actionable system for testing ideas, learning efficiently, and creating valuable products. It is concise, practical, and focused on offering real impact without unnecessary filler.

I’m a mid-career product manager who’s spent a lot of time in the weeds with data, dashboards, and delivery pressure, and I’ve also held leadership roles. I picked this up expecting another hyperbolic take on how AI is supposedly changing everything. That’s not what this is.

What I appreciated most is how practical it is. The frameworks feel like they were built by someone who has actually shipped products, dealt with real constraints, and had to make decisions with incomplete information. Nothing feels theoretical for the sake of sounding smart. As someone who leans heavily on data, I liked that AI is positioned as a way to improve judgment and speed, not as a replacement for human thinking.

The biggest shift for me was the mindset. The book is very clear that AI isn’t here to replace product managers. It’s here to take friction out of the job so we can spend more time on the parts that matter most. Roadmap planning. Product vision. Strategy. Less time coordinating. Fewer artifacts created just to keep process moving.

From a leadership perspective, the ideas scale well. They work whether you’re an individual contributor or leading teams and setting operating cadence across a broader organization.
I finished the book feeling more confident about where the role of product management is headed and how to stay relevant as it continues to change. This is a solid, grounded read for PMs who want to adapt without chasing hype.

This book reframes AI as a force multiplier rather than a replacement for product leaders. The MACH-10 PM offers actionable models for using AI to synthesize data, filter noise, and compress decisions, all while keeping accountability squarely with humans. It’s concise, easy to apply, and grounded in real-world experience, making it especially valuable for PMs and tech leaders overwhelmed by complexity and endless planning cycles.
