This book consists of a collection of stories painted with the desolate and silent sadness that death leaves behind. It explores how human beings process and react to loss. It captures the heartbreaking realization that there is no longer time to take another path, the regrets of "what if" that we all silently carry in our hearts.
Sometimes I had to put it down for a few days because it's an emotionally heavy book; it brought tears to my eyes more than once. But it's completely worth continuing to read, even though it hurts, because each story contains a seed of learning. My favorite story was "The Life You Never Lived" by Leonardo. I learned that we shouldn't let routine and fears prevent us from living life, and that we shouldn't wait until we're sick to make each day count.
There is definitely a lot of talent in Costa Rica, and I'm so proud of it. I highly recommend that you go and buy this book and support our Costa Rican authors.
