The Evolution Hoax Exposed

Rate this book
Former Why Colleges Breed Communists . Absolutely devastates Evolution as a credible theory. Studies the history, the theories, the "proof;" the propaganda campaign for, and the results of the theory of Evolution, plus gives the preponderating evidence against it. Greatly and sadly needed to dispel the now almost universal assumption that Evolution is true.

Two stars, for the times it made me laugh out loud.

Seriously now, how could you pass on a book that was originally published as Why Colleges Breed Communists? I know, I know, I shouldn’t be making fun of intellectually defenseless targets, but Arthur Field is so over the top, so seething with righteous indignation, and so absolutely, positively certain he is right, even when he is completely wrong.

Okay, now that I’ve got that out of my system, what is the real reason for reading this? It was published in 1941, but most of its arguments are still repeated today, drilled into the skulls of impressionable children. And it is worth remembering that according to a 2018 Gallop poll, 40% of Americans are strict creationists who believe that mankind was created in its present form less than ten thousand years ago.

There are times when the author sounds disingenuous, as if he knows he is repeating a false or overly simplistic argument, but includes it because his audience would expect it. For example, he starts off with a favorite of Creationists: “There is, unfortunately for evolutionists, not a shred of evidence of any living thing ever evolving into some different kind of living thing capable of breeding but infertile with its parent stock.” In this view, evidence of evolution would be something like a cow giving birth to a monkey, and though in other places Field seems to understand the gradual nature of evolutionary change, he ignores it when it comes time to state his position.

Considering that the book was published in 1941, I will give him a pass on his next assertion, that “Evolution supposes that fishes turned into reptiles, and reptiles into birds, elephants, and men and so on. The innumerable transitional forms demanded by the theory cannot be found.” When he was writing transitional fossils, while known to paleontologists, were not well known to the general public.

The evolutionist contention is that the later forms of life seen in the rocks are the descendants of the earlier forms. The evolutionist infers this. The fossils themselves show no more than the order of succession in which the different types of plants and animals appeared. Transitional forms which must have existed if evolution is a fact, and for which names were allotted in advance after evolution became fashionable...have failed to appear, although the whole earth has been ransacked for them during the past eighty years.

To his credit he does not mention a view which was popular in many Creationist circles, that extinction of any species is impossible, since that would imply that god had made a mistake in creating them or had changed his immortal, omniscient mind. To account for dinosaur bones the view was that they were the remains of giants mentioned in the bible, or else of animals whose descendants had migrated somewhere else but which were nonetheless very much alive in unexplored corners of the globe.

Sometimes Mr. Field’s assertions of certainty get the better of him, and he comes off as shrill and silly. “It would be an excellent thing if those of us who resent the evolutionist libel that our ancestors were apes or other animals were to club together and bring into court all the publishing-houses, professors, etc., proclaiming it. Nothing more would ever be heard of evolution if evolutionists were forced to come to light with evidence that a judge and jury would accept.”

At the time he was writing, Piltdown Man had not yet been conclusively revealed to be a hoax (that would not happen until 1953), and Field does identify the main weakness of the fossil “evidence,” which many professionals were willing to overlook. “The chief of the numerous points at issue in this highly conjectural item of evolutionist evidence is whether the chimpanzee jawbone ever had any real connection with the human skull fragments.” Whoever forged Piltdown Man was trying to bolster the then-accepted view that early man first evolved a large skull, and these fossils seemed to support that idea with an enlarged cranium and ape-like jaw, but to hide the fact that they were not from a single creature, the parts that connect jaw to skull had been knocked out before the bones were put in the ground.

Field also got the right response to Malthus’s predictions about population growth, but in this case he was just lucky, since he did not understand Darwin’s argument about natural selection. Darwin wrote that in every generation far more offspring are born than the available resources can support, and it is the ones best adapted to their environment that are the likeliest to survive long enough to pass along their genes. Inherent checks in the system prevent populations from continually increasing at an exponential rate, but Field sees this as evidence of a flaw in evolutionary theory. “Thus this specialist in charge of a bureau set up to investigate the matter of animal numbers can find no sign whatever of the Malthus’s imagined universal tendency of all living things to multiply and increase beyond the available food supply. The whole Darwinian theory of evolution, basis of all modern biological science and proclaimed on every had as established fact, rests on something that never was on land or sea.”

Occasionally Field’s wounded pride, his annoyance that others cannot see what seems so obvious to him, comes across. “Generally speaking the editors of newspapers believe evolution to be an established fact, and in consequence regard anyone who attacks it as an ignoramus or crank.” I wonder why….

He deplores the effects of science on faith, and sees a dark future for anyone without the One True Religion (his, of course).

the theory of organic evolution has been actively at work disintegrating the religious beliefs of those who accept it. Its principle achievement has been to empty the churches by mass manufacture of atheists and materialists. Atheism and materialism very frequently find their political embodiment in communism. It is not correct to say that all evolutionists are atheists, materialists, and communists. They are simply headed that way.

Field knew just enough to be deceived by faith and certainty. As Alexander Pope said, “a little learning is a dangerous thing.” He understood enough science to get the details right but the conclusions wrong. This book is a testament to the mindset of those who are so certain of their beliefs that no amount of contrary evidence would persuade them, and which, sadly, is a widespread condition in modern society.

Very detailed, but short synopsis on how science became a dogmatic religion void of logic or the scientific method. Also explains the connection between evolution, socialism, and egalitarianism.

Highly recommended to anyone with traditional values; especially if you value the truth.

Might be outdated but the fact is that the issues raised and the questions asked are still the same even today; still no concrete proof/evidence of actual evolution by archaeology, embryology and nowadays by dna, they actually point out towards the opposite direction, some kind of intelligence rather than just random selection. The problem is that the other direction is not financed and is actually silenced and/or ridiculed. Who ever questions evolution publicly knows that there is no high position neither fat salary in their establishments (eg universities, research centers...); this also applies to germ theory questioning (ie Pasteur Vs Béchamp, germ vs terrain theories), since this theory was developed animal viruses are infecting humans and get replicated in our bodies but for some reason don’t re-infect the animals... anyway, do your own research on that.

What i found interesting about this book is the connection of Darwinism/evolution to communism, the writer even goes beyond, and connect Darwin to Marx and to Bolsheviks which is very interesting as all three (specifically Bolshevik leaders) were Jews; and since French and Russian revolutions were also discussed, it is also very, very interesting that those were financed by Jews too, as WW1 and WW2. I don’t mind being called antisemite, if that means stating the facts, trying to understand the real history and wanting to know the truth, then ok i’m antisemite.

While this book was published nearly eighty years ago, it is still a good critique of Darwinian evolution, since the evolutionists are apparently still using the same types of arguments in support of their theory, without answering any of the objections. For example, chapter 11 shows that there is no trace of human civilization gradually building up to a high level; rather, both Babylon and Egypt start out at a high level, while primitive societies around the world (such as on the Pacific islands) failed to make any technological advances on their own. Chapter 7 covers the self-censorship enforced on scientific journals to stiffle any suggestions that eminent and respectable scientists have any doubts about Darwinism.
