The Wild #5

The Rowdy Ones

Rate this book
Our home in the wilderness was supposed to be safe.
It’s what brought me back when the world chewed me up and spit me out.
The isolation from evil people, though, was only a façade.
No matter where we live, there is pain and suffering, caused by others. You can’t escape it.
Only our family truly understands this. Mental torment shreds us from the inside out.
And a piece of my heart must leave to find treatment in the place that shattered me.
Everything in me begs to stay, but for family, I’ll go anywhere.
Even back to hell.
I’m needed to be a light in a dark, lonely world when I’m nothing but a flicker.
Eyes for those who cannot see. A hand to hold and guide the way.
But protectiveness soon becomes obsession.
Simple touches that used to heal now create unimaginable fire.
Chaotic. Obliterating. Incinerating. Illicit. Disgraceful.
What I want calls to me more deeply than any drug I’ve succumbed to before.
The desire for something so precious and fragile is consuming me.
Everything could be destroyed if I even placed a single kiss on those forbidden lips.
The heat of this addiction is now coursing through both our veins.
I don’t know how to stop it.
We’re high on it.
I can fight this need, though. I’m stronger than I once was.
Unfortunately, I’m not strong enough for the both of us…

The Rowdy Ones (The Wild, #5) by K. Webster

5/5 stars

The Rowdy Ones is the fifth book in The Wild series and just like the previous books and novellas it's a bloody masterpiece. This series is taboo, seriously taboo, so it is not for everyone. But I can easily separate fiction from reality and that makes it easy to enjoy and fall in love with all the characters in this world.

This is Rowdy and Destiny's story. Destiny is still suffering from all the horrible events that took place in the previous books. The raping, the loss of her unborn baby. The suffering she goes through every day.

Rowdy finally settled in the woods and feels at home. He is the only one that can reach Destiny. And he is there for her every step of the way. But his own demons still attack him and make him go through a slew of emotions. But the safety and strength he feels with his sister keeps him grounded. And after she slits her wrists, he knows he must do anything she needs in order to heal again.

That is why I'm here.
I have to be strong for my little sister.

They move to Atticus and Eve and settle there. Rowdy gets choked by the thought of being close to Evan, his rapist, again. He lives in fear and is struggling to find where he truly belongs.

Destiny is getting the help she needs for her visual impairment. Gwen teaches her how to be self-sufficient. Learning how to walk with a cane, how to use a phone and how to accept her disability.

I love how  both of them try to move on and do normal things people their age do. Heal, date, discover and explore.

Rowdy and Destiny are trauma bonded. He saved her from Jace and made sure it would never happen again. When trauma strikes, only the comfort they find in each other helps.

"I hate sleep," I mutter, voice wobbling. "I can't escape him there."
Jace is dead. He's not coming back. And yet... I can't shake him off me no matter how hard I try.
"Come here, Dez."
---
It grounds me simply by touching him. This time when I fall asleep, I feel safe and protected.

But the people around them, watch them. Aunt Eve is tuned into the two. And even Gwen is convinced she sees something else simmer as well.

Unfortunately, Gwen poked at my family, which has me on edge. Is she right, though? Is Rowdy possessive over me? And why don't I think that's a bad thing? He would do anything to keep his family safe. If that's seen as possessive, I don't understand why Gwen is afraid of it.

Something horrible happens and suddenly they don't feel as safe anymore. Their bond only gets stronger and the closer they get, the more they open up until it all explodes and they have to face the reality of their bond and feelings.

I love this book so, so much. It is not just a raw erotica novel. It carries so much pain and it shows how much trauma affects you even years later. My heart ached for certain characters and I cursed others.

The Jamison family is still one of my favorite families out there. They are raw, maybe even uncouth, show their emotions fiercely, are proud, protective and so strong. And they love with all their heart, unconditionally, fierce, strong and tightly.

5 huge stars for The Rowdy Ones. Thank you K. Webster for writing these taboo and thought provoking books. I love them all to pieces.

The Rowdy Ones is the latest set in the Wild universe, which follows siblings Rowdy and Destiny as they each deal with personal trauma and try to find a new beginning outside their family circle. I appreciated how the story takes its time, allowing Rowdy and Destiny to heal and process all of their awful experiences. Destiny finds some comfort in her classes, while Rowdy channels his anger and regret into healthier outlets through work.

As they both heal and reflect on their past, Destiny and Rowdy realize that the one person who has always been their safe haven is one another. This realization and mutual understanding unfold slowly, and both are surprised by it. Over time, this new connection is accepted and acknowledged, leading to powerful moments of honesty and truth.

Overall, this is an emotional story that also includes elements of danger and mystery, as there is an actual threat to both Destiny and Rowdy. Their bond is the most compelling aspect of the story, believable and heartfelt as they journey toward redemption and hope. I enjoyed returning to this world, and I am very curious about what happens next.

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Book 5 of The Wild series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:
4.25 Stars

Growing up in the wilderness was once a comfort for Rowdy and Destiny Jamison. But safety was only an illusion and desperation pushed them out of their comfort zone to rejoin civilization. Just as things began to look up, the past returned to haunt them and new feelings threatened to pull them into complications they weren’t ready to face.

Rowdy was protective to the point of obsession, while Destiny readily took chances as she learned to navigate her new world. I liked how they had each other while they coped with their personal trauma, and Wild's presence added humor to the story.

What we did was wrong, sure, but it didn’t feel that way. For the first time ever, I felt like my life was good and right.

I liked how the relationship aspect took time to develop with reluctance from both sides while they explored their options. The secondary plot added intrigue and excitement that helped propel the story.

The Rowdy Ones is a story of new beginnings. It would appeal to readers who enjoy taboo romance with elements of suspense.

Rowdy and Destiny.

Mannnn I’ve been waiting for another book in this world and absolutely loved this one.
Rowdy is the older brother that tried civilized living and ended up traumatized from a relationship that went bad. Really bad.

Destiny is the younger sister, vision impaired, and went through a traumatic experience when her and her family were kidnapped.
(This all happens when you read the books in order. Please do!)

But Destiny has a chance to meet up with specialists and people that are like her. To be able to receive this help (a diagnosis and help with independence for the vision impaired) she must move to civilization. Rowdy goes back to the place he swore he’d never go again. To be with his sister and protect her.

They move in with their aunt, uncle, and cousins.

This is about two flawed characters that have gone through immense trauma, trying to overcome it, and also bond through it…

We also get a suspenseful aspect of the story.
And a very taboo romance that K. Webster knows how to make feel so right.

This is
Emotional angst
Taboo romance
Brother - Sister
Disability Rep
Found Family
Suspenseful
HEA

“We’ll both drown in this…thing. This fucking crazy feeling.”

Do we get more in this series? I really hope so!

Ok, so 1st off - this book is 100% taboo, it's brother & sister so if this isn't your cuppa then just move on. The end.

Now that that's outta the way!.... K Webster has once again, somehow made me love a story that I shouldn't love and I'm not even sorry about it 😏

Rowdy and Destiny have both suffered so much, their story is heartbreaking, both of which can be found in previous books, especially Destiny.
Seriously, my heart hurts so bad for her

For a chance at recovery, they both go to stay with Uncle Atticus & Aunt Eve (from The Free)
Not only does Destiny thrive at the community centre she's been enrolled in but her and Rowdys relationship does too!
Being related isn't the only against them, there's Rowdys past that shows up in person, Destiny's past in her mind and a new threat altogether!

It was intense, it was sweet, it was steamy and it was so so wrong - yet felt so right.

I love this taboo world K. Webster made. This one follows right after the events of the last one, this one is following Rowdy and Destiny's relationship and the end twist?? didn't guess who it was LOL
(obviously never condone taboo relationships but its fiction and I love the drama)

Another sensational story from K Webster and her wonderful characters in The Wild. Rowdy and Destiny have such a close relationship and they have been through so much together, Rowdy supports Dez in her helping her deal with her blindness and returns to the place he thought he would never come back to.
Their journey is full of the push and pull from a society that is unaccepting and narrow minded. This taboo story is not for everyone and you should read them from the beginning, you won't be disappointed.

Rowdy and Destiny Jamison lived freely in the wilderness until their safety was compromised. Relocating to town, Destiny acclimates by learning independence but when new threats emerge, Rowdy stays true to his protective core.

“Maybe like me, he’s uncovering little morsels of happiness that are hiding deep beneath the pain. I like that we’re finding it together.”

Narrated in dual POV, though Destiny is strong-willed she is reliant on her brother, Rowdy, as they enjoy a close relationship, but even with their efforts, strong feelings emerge that cannot be ignored.

I found Destiny’s resilience is admirable and Rowdy’s indifference about what people think of him was refreshing. Plus, the texting between Rowdy and Wild is quite humorous. Though this is a quick taboo read, the forbidden moments definitely made me squirm at times. lol

I loved being back in The Wild world! This book is not for the faint of heart. 😮‍💨 It’s dark and so taboo and so wrong, yet so right?

THOUGHTS 💭
🖤 Destiny (Dez) and Rowdy, siblings, leave isolation and head into town so Dez can get the help she needs. I love watching Dez navigate town life and accessibility aids for a person with blindness - seeing her gain her independence was empowering!
🖤 The author does an amazing job making you feel Rowdy and Dez’s mistrust of “the real world” - that mistrust underpins every interaction. I found myself constantly asking “are they a good person? Or are they going to cause the next trauma for these characters?”
🖤 My heart hurts for our MCs and all that they have endured. Both Rowdy and Dez grappled with some intense feelings of self-loathing and sadness and anger.
🖤 I love that Wild is the grammar police in his text messages with Rowdy. It had me actually LOLing. 😆
🖤 Forbidden spice hits so right (even when it is so, so wrong). There’s this guilt and wrongness that surrounds each spicy scene and it’s still so darn hot!
🖤 I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop throughout this whole book and the suspense was amazing!

Thanks so much to K. Webster for the ARC of this book!

Destiny and Rowdy are heading back to the city with Wild so Dez can get some space and help after her attempt to end it all. Rowdy doesn't want to leave her alone so he goes along with the possibility of seeing Evan. Wild and him are now best friends again & Wild knows what his cousin, Evan did to Rowdy.
I relate to Destiny very much as someone who has lost her vision but had yh the amazing opportunity to regain it after four cornea transplants. My heart breaks for Dezzy as she’ll never be able to see everything including her own family’s faces except in her dreams
Absolutely loved all the twists and turns in this book and the epilogue was a chef's kiss

My anxiety and stress levels went through the roof with this book. I knew it was going to be different, intense, taboo, but the story has added danger that I didn't expect. Even Evan made me uncomfortable. Rowdy and Dez's lives are definitely full of complications. I could do with less anxiety but all that drama is what had me invested and biting my nails. K Webster never disappoints.

Kinda fell on the meh side like something is missing. I’m sure if the writer focus more on them fighting their feelings, add more jealous or tension scene this would be amazing. Everything was too easy for them, beside the murder plot. I can’t believe this is the same author that wrote Hale

I was pretty excited for Rowdy and Destiny. I really like that she has a disability and it wasn’t glossed over. Like, it was an actual disability that changed her life completely. I also loved how protective Rowdy was. I’m sure a lot of that protectiveness came from what happened to him with Evan. Man I hate that guy. Rowdy and Destiny are staying with Atticus and Eve and their son Wild. Rowdy and Wild are living the bachelor life in a camper outside of the house and Destiny is living in the house with her aunt and uncle. Neither Destiny nor Rowdy likes it but Eve is scary and what she says goes. Destiny goes to a “Dr” who helps blind people be able to survive on their own. Which is awesome for Destiny because she relies heavily on her family. But Rowdy is struggling with it because she doesn’t need him as much anymore and he’s also struggling because he’s back in the place where the worst things to happened to him happened. Weirdly, Destiny immediately enters into a relationship with her “Dr’s” son. He’s a little pushy and Rowdy is insanely jealous. Over time, Destiny and Rowdy push boundaries they know they’re not supposed to push but they can’t help it. They’ve both had trauma and they’ve sought comfort in each other. A handful of drama also happens but I don’t wanna give everything away. Wild might have been my favorite character in a book that wasn’t even his and I can’t wait for him to get one one day! Maybe. Lol. K Webster really knows how to push the envelope with romance and this specific genre and I think this was a good edition to The Wild series! Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

i'm tired of this series being always about rape and miscarriages , i enjoyed it more when the taboo aspect was really intense but this one is not it , they are more around drama and SA..ugh
i needed more from them, more build up , more fighting off their feelings...it was rushed.
Full of my pet peeves too, it was hard to like.
I wish that he didn't love someone before her...

☀︎𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝚁𝙾𝚆𝙳𝚈 𝙾𝙽𝙴𝚂 ☀︎Is the fifth taboo romance book, within the (The Wild) series by author K. Webster. And must be read in order. This is Destiny's and Rowdy's story. Spoken in dual POV's.

This series is as taboo as one can get, so know that going into this, these two are brother and sister who form a forbidden love relationship. Rowdy's always been possessive of her, with her failing eyesight, her kidnapping and all that came with that afterwards, he was her saviour.

Rowdy, this poor damaged man, from what he'd endured from a man he'd subsequently trusted in his teens, had my heart breaking, which in turn molded these together over their past traumas.

Away from the homestead and prying eyes, these two stepped hand in hand into forbidden territory as they forged together as one.

It was K. Wester which popped many cherries of mine when I first found her books and this series. You can't help but get pulled in, absorbed in the world she's created, weither it's as taboo as one can get or a pure love which pulls you under.

Thoughts : I ate this up in one sitting. Couldn’t put it down. I have patiently waited for Rowdy’s story. And although I was hopeful Wild was part of the relationship, I loved the way it turned out! The suspense was amazing and had me gripping my kindle the whole way, also, there is just something endearing about Rowdy’s naivety.

⚠️⚠️⚠️spoilers - whole story***
You have to read all books before this one.
Rowdy and Destiny are on their way to Atticus and Eve’s home (where Wild and his twin siblings live).
Destiny tried to unalive herself because she was preg with her grapists baby and lost it. She couldn’t handle the trauma and loss all at the same time. Plus, her eyesight continues to rapidly get worse.
Rowdy feels protective over her. She stays with him in his cabin for a while before she resigns to cut herself. Their parents decide her going to town is best for the help she needs.
Destiny is excited to be involved in this school for the blind. It teaches her all sorts of things to deal with her disability.
Gwen is the “head person” and takes a special interest in Destiny. Her son, Weston comes by and tries to date Destiny. Destiny is overwhelmed with all these feelings because she has only ever known the woods and her family (aside from the crazy people).
She tries with Weston but it doesn’t feel right and she ends it.
Rowdy tries to get the feeling of wanting Destiny out of his system by “hanging” with other women Wild brings by. It doesn’t work, he is obsessed.
Evan, Rowdy’s ex, comes around and wants him back, even though he has a bf, Alex. Wild and Destiny try hard to run interference whenever Evan comes around but Evan constantly texts Rowdy and is messing with his mind.
There is a serial unaliver going around slashing throats, bashing faces, and sod0mizing males that weirdly look like Rowdy.
Rowdy and Destiny decide to admit their feelings for each other and start a relationship. Evan comes by and is creepy / crazy and threatens Destiny. Alex all but kidnaps Rowdy and confess to being the slasher. Evan is obsessed with Rowdy and Alex can’t stand it so he unalives all the men that Evan chats on him with. Now he hops to end Rowdy, thus ending Evan’s obsession.
Rowdy gets away and is able to get home.
Eve catches them banging and tries to unalive Rowdy thinking he is hurting Destiny.
He survives and thy decide if they are going to continue the relationship, they need their own place.
6months later, they are on their own in between their Aunt and Unle’s house and their family homestead. Destiny is preg.

REVIEW:

I love K. Webster's Wild world and I love the Jamison family. So it's nice to be back here. First off though, the Wild Winter novella is a must read backstory for this one, as well as the previous Wild books. The trauma that both Rowdy and Destiny have endured (separately) lays the foundation for this story.

Anyways, I did really like this one. I liked Rowdy and Destiny and their close connection is undeniable. They are sweet and sexy and (yes) a little wild too. lol

But I didn't feel like this story was as intense as previous books. The serial killer plot was in the background, but they didn't have as much at stake in this one and so it wasn't as gripping as previous books, like The Wild or The Untamed/The Unruly duet.

Another thing I didn't love was that Rowdy and Destiny stay in town and don't move back home. This honestly made me a little sad. One of the things I love about this series is their isolated life. So I was hoping that they would choose to go home. I get why Destiny wants to stay, but I don't like it.

But I did like the story overall. Just not as much as previous books. I also loved that we got more Wild in this one. Love him so much. He's such a goofball, but also so loyal. I loved the text message grammar lessons between Rowdy and Wild. So funny. I REALLY hope he gets a book one of these days.

Overall it was good. I enjoyed it. It's not nearly as intense of a plot as the previous books in the series, and it doesn't have that otherworldly isolated atmosphere as the other books. But it was still good and I'm glad Rowdy and Destiny got their HEA.

I didn't enjoy this story as much as I thought I would, I was really looking forward to reading Destiny and Rowdy's book but there were several things that didn't work for me

I hated that Rowdy's ex, Evan, was his first love, I wish he had experienced that emotion only with Destiny, if Evan hadn't turned out to be a rapist asshole they would probably still be together

Eve was so annoying, I understand that her actions in this book were a result of her own trauma, but even before she did what she did I could barely stand her

I'm still not the biggest fan of Wild, he's way too immature and obnoxious, the only good thing about him is that he's loyal, at least with his family, I'm not sure if there's going to be a story about him but if there is I just hope he can be faithful

I really wish we could've seen Devon's reaction when she found out that Destiny and Rowdy were together (I liked how quickly Reed accepted Rowdy and Destiny's relationship, after what happened with his other children he wasn't even surprised so I liked that he didn't give them a hard time)

I get why Rowdy didn't tell Atticus what Evan did to him but I still wish he had said something, I also think it would've been helpful if Will had known the truth about his scumbag son

-other info:
-dual POV
-Rowdy is almost 26 so that means Destiny is around 17 y/o
-om - Destiny dated a guy for a few weeks -I think-, in one scene they kissed and he touched her breasts, he wanted to have sex with her but she told him to stop, she realized that she couldn't stop thinking about Rowdy so she broke up with him
-ow - Rowdy almost had sex with a girl, he thought he could 'fuck his sister out of his brain', they kissed and she gave him a bj, he really wanted to fuck her but his mind was a mess bc while she was sucking his dick he was thinking about Evan and Destiny, so he told her to stop and asked her if they could just sleep and cuddle (this happened before him and Destiny were a couple)
-om #2 - Rowdy's ex, Evan, caused a bit of drama, Rowdy definitely didn't want him back but as much as he hated him his body still reacted to him, it was obvious that he still had some unresolved feelings for him, especially at the beginning of the story (luckily that stopped when he started "dating" Destiny)
-Rowdy had never been inside anyone before Destiny, the only sex he's had was with his ex, Evan, and he was always on the receiving end
-TW (aside from the incest): when Destiny was 14 she was kidnapped and raped repeatedly, the man got her pregnant but she had a miscarriage; in the previous book she tried to kill herself by cutting her wrist; Destiny has retinitis pigmentosa, her condition got worse after the trauma she experienced so she's now nearly blind; Rowdy met Evan when he was 18, they started dating right away, Evan got him hooked on drugs, eventually he started injecting Rowdy with heroin and then raping him, on one occasion Rowdy overdosed and he nearly died
-epilogue: 6 months later - Destiny's pregnant

Reading the prior books in the series is helpful to understand the deep emotional trauma bond of this family along with meeting some of the secondary characters and understanding why moments affect them so deeply. With that being said, this is one of my favorite taboo series of Webster's to read and I loved reading Rowdy and Destiny's story. 😍

Rowdy lived up to his name when he was younger as he was obviously, rambunctious and rowdy, but the older Rowdy we've come to know, his youthful spirit seems to all but have left him and Rowdy is serious and has kept to himself. Well, mostly except for when Destiny, his sister, needs him. He always comes when she needs him, but he also needs her just as much. So while this book is taboo, when it comes between them falling for one another, it's also a book in healing because Rowdy and Destiny are more alike then they ever realized. Their trauma may have bonded them, but it's their love for one another that strengthens them beyond their trauma.

Things drastically changed after their homestead was all but ruined and several family members were kidnapped and abused, including Destiny. Now, the family is mending and on the healing side of that awful situation, but Destiny still feels broken. However, she has the chance of leaving all the heartache behind so when the opportunity arises she takes it, but Rowdy won't let her leave without his protection. He knows the awful dangers of the outside world and he refuses to let his sweet sister befall the monsters of the world that once fell unto him.

The Rowdy Ones is a forbidden love story, but this entire series is full of them😏 so if the Jamison and Knox families are familiar, than Rowdy and Destiny will be familiar love waters to swim in. Hop on in and enjoy this brother and sister love trope.😉 I did.

Along with Rowdy and Destiny's love story, there is a mysterious element to this book. One that makes the plot quite intriguing. It certainly kept my mind reeling on who the bad guy could be, since it was well done with lots of misdirection. 👏 I love these elements woven into the Wild series, it certainly keeps it "wild" and I love the surprise every time. 😉

The Rowdy Ones is the 5th book in the taboo Wild universe created by K Webster. I can't describe how much I have loved this series, and there is just something about K Webster's writing that immediately hooks me. I literally could not put this book down and finished it in one sitting.

Rowdy and his sister Destiny decide to leave their family homestead in the Alaska wilderness after the trauma Destiny went through in the previous books. She was deeply depressed after her assault and needed a fresh start. They go to live with Atticus and Eve (the couple from Free) and try to recover from their past traumas.

Rowdy is very damaged from his previous time in town and his abusive relationship, so he is not happy to be there. However, he is very protective of Destiny and would do anything to make her happy again, and she is starting to thrive in this new environment. She has lost her eyesight and is finally getting to learning how to live with blindness and get the aids she needed.

Rowdy and Dez both start to see a change in how they feel about each other. Their attraction slowly builds, and they can't fight their taboo feelings, but how can they be together outside of the wilderness.

I loved these two together, and it was so angsty. This book will not be for everyone due to the taboo content, but I love the way K Webster writes it. She makes me believe the characters really belong together.

Thank you to Chaotic Creatives for providing the ARC.

This book continues right where Wild Winter leaves off. Destiny Jamison — nearly blind, grieving, and still raw from her assault and miscarriage — leaves the isolation of the Alaskan wilderness to stay with “Uncle” Atticus and “Aunt” Eve. Her brother, Rowdy, follows her there because he’s always been her protector, even when protecting her means losing pieces of himself.

The story unfolds from both of their perspectives. Destiny’s has a lot to deal with: her blindness, her guilt, her struggle to find any reason to keep going, on the other part Rowdy’s his own issues, he is a man drowning in trauma, and forbidden feelings. The first half of the book feels like slow healing: new routines, therapy with Gwen, learning to use her cane and tech, meeting Weston (Gwen’s son, who flirts with her and gives her that first fragile taste of normal teenage interest).

As Destiny grows stronger, Rowdy starts to unravel. His jealousy toward Weston, his resentment toward Gwen, his guilt over the past — it all festers and that line between protector and something much darker starts to blur.

When they finally cross the line a serial killer appears and his victims all resemble Rowdy. My first tought was that Evan was the killer, but boy was I wrong...

The ending was rushed for me, I would have loved to see the killer arrested and how their story progressed, but I guess that we will see more of them in the future.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Rowdy and Destiny. This is a new book in The Wild Series. If you have read the previous books, you know what you are in for and how forbidden these books can be. I have been waiting on Rowdy's story. I had to know what had happened to him and why he was the way he was. I got the answer to those questions and then some. Destiny and Rowdy have lived though some horrible things. She is not herself and maybe just going to stay with Wild's family will help her get out of the depression she has been in. However, Rowdy has some demons of his own he needs to work though and he must accompany Destiny. He and Wild are staying in an RV and I love that they got this time because they really needed it. Destiny is losing more of her sight and is now going to class at a place that is for the blind. She is learning so much and it is opening up a whole new world for her. Plus the directors son is an added bonus. There is a lot going on in this book. You will not be able to lay it down. Add to it a serial killer on the lose and trying to figure that out and you have one heck of a read. Yout do not want to miss this book.

ARC REVIEW:

This is the 5th book in The Wild Series and you definitely need to read the previous books to understand how we got here. Destiny and Rowdy are both troubled having suffered a lot. That trauma is too much for Destiny and she tries to end it all. Her parents know she needs help so send her to live with extended family to heal and her big brother goes with her despite his own demons. Once there, Destiny thrives and I loved it, she finally gets a diagnosis for her blindness and attends classes and is taught how to manage her condition and gain independence. Rowdy is of course overly protective and determined to keep her safe, even when others notice him doing too much. He doesn’t care! Destiny is his main priority. Their relationship takes a forbidden turn and it was so sweet watching them slowly realise their feelings.

The side characters were great too. I loved Gwen and Eve so much, they were protective yet determined not to baby Destiny. Also Wild is a brilliant character who added a lot comic relief so it wasn’t too heavy and I hold out hope for his story too.🤞🏽

This book is very taboo with lots of triggers and emotions so be sure going in but know it was a great read!

This book with the rest of the series is pure taboo. K webster makes it work with a great plot/story line.

This story follows Destiny & Rowdy, it picks up where Wild Winter leaves off. Destiny & Rowdy go to stay with Atticus & Eve. Even after Rowdy’s bad time staying there years ago he still offers to go with destiny to keep her safe.

Atticus gets Destiny enrolled in a clinic that specializes in people with blindness. She thrives at this clinic & learns how to become a more independent person. She even gets a boyfriend for a while. (the doctors son)

Rowdy on the other hand is suffering from some ptsd after he sees his ex (if you wanna call him that) Evan (Atticus’s Nephew) He first runs into Evan at a party, Evan tells him he is now clean. Well after the first run in all Evan wants to do is get back with Rowdy. Evan does also have a new boyfriend named Alex. Alex is very jealous after he realizes that Evan has been texting him, Rowdy keeps telling Alex he wants nothing to do with Evan.

So between Destiny’s clinic visits & Rowdy dealing with Evan you also have a serial killer on the loose, raping & slashing throats of guys that look similar to Rowdy.

Oh and you can’t forget Destiny & Rowdy realizing they are in love with each other & want to be together.

Wild World has become one of my God Tier, absolute favorite series EVER so I was feral for months leading up to this newest release. And it did not disappoint!

I just knew Rowdy would unseat Reed as my favorite WW man and he did. Rowdy is all the best things about Reed and Devon while also managing to somehow be 100% more depraved, obsessive, and FILTHY. He was incredible.

Destiny… I had a feeling I’d like her, but we honestly got so little of what she was like in U&U (which was understandable), I was kinda nervous. And let me tell you, she was the LEAST HOLDS BARRED CHARACTER EVER! She had a little internal struggle, but she was mostly like “okay, I like this, I want this” without many holdups. I was LIVING for her!!! Her “disability” ended up being something that was so natural and second nature (without being forgotten) that learning to deal with it was just a stepping stone of character development by the end. And she and Rowdy were absolutely perfect together. Really. They mention “fated mates” at one point and yep. That’s 100% what they’re like.

I’m also so happy we got to see more of the Knox family in this book! I missed them more than I realized and was so happy to be back with them (even tho I missed the homestead like crazy). And Wild’s development and story made my heart so flipping happy!! I cannot wait to see what the next book brings! I’m going to be turning into a feral goblin again until it comes out.

P.S.
The grammar police argument throughout the book had me absolutely dying laughing!

As usual, K. Webster never disappoints and the entire Wild series is by far still one of my favourites. She is still one of my favourite authors!

I wholeheartedly recommend the series, over, and over again.

There are only two reasons this only got 4 stars (and it breaks my heart because I'm extremely generous with my stars) but I stand by the 4:

1. Wayyyyyyyy too little spice. K. Webster, you went soft. There were minimal scenes, and even when there were, it was so short, so hasty, and didnt give me that "smut" feel. There was a lot lacking with the spice and i hated when they would say "and then we had a lot more sex". Im like... yeah?? I want the DETAILS. I dont even think she gave him a bj? did she??. The tension and build up to the moment before they collided was GREAT, beautiful, but the actual act was...disappointing.

2. Wild. I feel so sad for him, seriously. I imagine he will get his HEA in future books, and while I knew this book was MF, I really wanted it to be MMF. I could really see the three of them making it work.

None the less, still a great read. Can't wait for future books.

Overall: 4/5
Spice: 2/5

I didn't realize how much I missed being in the Wild world. Before diving in to Rowdy and Destiny story, I highly highly encourage you to read The Untamed and Unruly and then Wild Winter. It really dives in to the backstories and trauma that is touched on throughout this book.

Oh my poor heart. Rowdy and and Destiny have been through it. Each with their own trauma, they are trying to heal and move on. Throughout their journey they realize that the one person that has been there for them, was each other.

Watching Dez come in to herself despite everything was absolutely beautiful. Honestly watching them both transform and grow through their journey of healing was incredible.

As also, K. Webster delivers on the emotions and of course the taboo deliciousness that we have all come to love from her books.

Destiny and Rowdy have both endured traumatic physical experiences. To help escape, they have moved to their aunt and uncle's place with their cousins, including Wild. While the change may be nice, Rowdy is not adapting as well as Destiny.

"Here's to a new beginning."

Destiny has opened up a bit more and even started smiling. Rowdy is trying to make the most of their new situation for Destiny.

"I like the idea of completing her in some way."

Honestly, I never felt anything wrong with the feelings that Rowdy and Destiny started experiencing with one another. If anything, it felt natural. Just a touch here or a kiss there.

"This kiss goes on forever and ever just like the love we have for each other."

This book will grip your heart. Get ready. I was so invested in Destiny and Rowdy. I was so happy that they had each other. They both were able to help one another through their trauma. Their cousin Wild, added comedic relief to a heavy story. Download this book today.
