A captivating Romantasy novel full of magic, love, and intrigue, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss mountains.
From the first pages I was drawn into a world where power is not just possessive, it's seen, felt and feared. The concept of being tied to colors was so original and symbolic. The depth of the magic system while the characters were reflecting on internal struggles. Each color carried a meaning, a consequence and responsibility. This read was complex, and had me grappling at the loyalty the ambition, fear and self-discovery - all felt so realistic and emotional. Such an intriguing read you won't want to put down.

I’m catching up on posting the reviews for books I read over the Christmas season. I read some great books the last couple of weeks, and one of them was The Purple Legacy: The Colors of Power by Delia Riva.
My 2¢ - I really liked this book! I don’t want to give too much away, but this book is packed with things I love like found family, a hidden/misunderstood identity, an academia setting, and an interesting magical system. Not only is it an academia book but it has a sort of “summer camp” setting too!
I loved that the boundaries of the magical system are pushed hard, and the path traveled by our main character to understand and accept who she is.
While there are high stakes and political machinations in this book, it maintains an upbeat, colorful, and uplifting tone. This is a great book to read when you want to escape into a realm with multiple types of magical beings and brighten up a gloomy mood.
I were in high school I’d probably really enjoy this book. It’s well written and has good relationship and world building. Great for the teen/YA readers.
Chaos of teenage life and new schools are similar no matter what realm. Maybe just more intense when magic is thrown into the mix. I like the parallels of mixed politics. I enjoyed the magical story and world as well as the famous quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I look forward to book 2
The Colors of Power by Delia Riva is an engaging romantasy that blends magic, mystery, and self-discovery. I enjoyed the way the story explores hidden potential and destiny against the backdrop of Switzerland. The magical elements and shifting alliances keep the tension moving, while the emotional growth of the main character adds depth. The concept of power tied to color is creative and adds an interesting layer to the world-building. A solid fantasy read for anyone who enjoys magic, intrigue, and a touch of romance.
