She's my best friend's little sister and the only person who can save me from my darkness.

RILEY EVANS has been in love with her sister’s best friend HAYDEN HALE for as long as she can remember. He’s never noticed her, and even when he finally does, he keeps his distance.

Years later, Hayden is a world-famous musician, shattered by his friend’s death and drowning in guilt inside his penthouse walls. Riley walked away from the stage and chose to teach kids ballet instead of chasing unattainable perfection.

When her sister asks her to check on Hayden, Riley doesn’t expect to connect with him in such a close way. She definitely doesn’t expect one night to change everything.

Now she’s pregnant with his child.

With the press circling and his grief pinning him in place, Hayden is terrified of destroying the only person who makes him feel alive—Riley. And yet he can’t help but fall for her. Will he finally admit that she’s never been invisible to him, or will he lose her forever because she’s done waiting for him to choose her?

Hayden & Riley - what a beautiful story theirs is. Hayden, our broken boy MMC. He's holding on to so much grief and guilt. Riley is our fierce FMC who has had a crush on Hayden for years, being his rock and always checking in on him to make sure he's ok when he's ignoring the world.

Circumstances have Riley moving in with Hayden temporarily, and the sparks are flying, the chemistry is off the charts between them and the tension 🔥and when they finally give in to temptation 😮‍💨 our girl ends up pregnant and let me tell you, that boy steps up and is determined to get his life back on track to be everything Riley and their baby needs 🥹

This one does cover some heavy topics so make sure to check triggers before going in ❤️‍🩹 Ana has done an amazing job and these topics are written so well 🥹 If you love a rockstar romance with a troubled MMC, add this one to the tbr.

A moment for the dedication -
To the ones who stayed.
And to those who are still learning how to live after someone they love couldn't.

Well I’m speechless, this book was everything! Truly the emotions you feel reading this book and the way Anastasija writes connects so deeply. This is book two in the Hale Brothers Series and features rockstar Hayden or Hades and ballerina Riley. Riley is Hayden’s best friends little sister and she has always been there for him especially after the loss he suffered. This one does cover some heavy topics like grief/loss, depression and mentions of suicide however they were beautifully written. This book is all about the journey of grief. I have read all of Anastasija’s work and this one might just be my new favourite.

I received a complementary copy from the author.

Get ready to be emotional, because this book will make you feel.
You’ll feel the loss of a friend, the longing of a childhood crush, and the shift when their worlds turn upside down.

It has a beautiful plot and is easy to read, even though some of the themes are heavy.

The love story doesn’t feel unrealistic or over-the-top, and that’s exactly why I loved it. It feels grounded and real. The twists and turns reflect the ups and downs of a normal relationship.

The spice is at the perfect level. And the way the piercings are described… I have questions.

Anastasija writes about grief with such grace and depth you truly feel the heaviness within the characters and it lingers with you long after you finish.

I don’t usually love the accidental pregnancy trope but I adored it in The Hale Brother Series 💕

"Hayden Hale was my first unrequited love, the object of all my affection for far too long, while I’m the girl he’s never noticed."

Where do I start because this book was everything. I devoured this book like my favorite meal. The writing was so effortless. The story flowed wonderfully so it was so easy to grab the book and never put it down.

I loved so many parts of this book. The MMC and the FMC were some characters that I would honestly want to be friends with in real life. The author dives into some real topics such as suicide and it is a topic I hold close to the chest but it was described and incorporated in a way that you felt it with the characters. The grief felt real and I appreciated that about the author. This book reminds us of what grieve can do how it can change us.

The tension betwen the two main characters was everything. It had me wanting more at every page turn. The angst had me clutching my pearls. The scenarios were too real and I love that the author incorporated them.

I don’t know how many times I wanted so bad to dive into the book and just hold Hade. And as we go along and we learn more about Riley and how resilient she is. I wanted to do the same for her. What I loved most about this book was how Riley had her own issues and never let that stop her from being there for Hade because she knew he needed her. Her selflessness’s was admirable.

This is a book I will think about for a long time.

Review:

Honestly, this wasn’t one of my best reads. I didn’t enjoy the story very much. It touches on some heavy topics, and in my opinion they weren’t handled very well. The characters also felt a bit flat to me.

I had mixed feelings about the FMC — I liked her at times, but I also felt like she let the MMC walk all over her. As for the MMC, he was portrayed as very depressed, but whenever Riley the FMC showed up he suddenly seemed completely fine, which felt inconsistent.

Their relationship was also a bit meh to me. I actually felt more chemistry between the MMC and a side character than between him and the FMC.

Big thanks to Greys Promotion and the author for the ARC! ✨

*Thank you to Grey’s Promo and Anastasija White for providing me with an ARC of this book, I greatly appreciate it.

*Check trigger warnings before reading

Riley and Hayden’s story went from them being mutual friends/ acquaintances to a night that quite literally changed their lives. With the sudden realization that both Riley and Hayden were now going to become parents, it made the both of them reevaluate their relationship and future. In addition, this story also tackled heavy topics such as, grief, suicide, suicidal thoughts, depression, and diving deep into that mindset that Hayden and Riley dealt with. Compared to Anastasija’s first book in this duet, this story had a bit more of a heavier tone. While this story had its moments of vulnerability and sadness, there was also lighthearted ones that illustrated the journey of Riley and Hayden going from friends to lovers and parents to their little bundle of joy.

I think the way Anastasija wrote this book really made me see the reality of what Hayden dealt with and possibly people like him experiencing similar feelings he had. Now, this story isn’t entirely lighthearted, while there may be a lightness, there’s always a darkness that goes with it. This story dived into Hayden’s story just as much as it did with Riley’s. When it came to Hayden’s side of the story, it showed how the loss and unfortunate circumstances surrounding his best friend’s death left a lingering pain in him. Grief isn’t something that easily goes away, it’s something that can easily creep back up, and without any notice just have you reeling in those feelings once again just from a split second reminder that causes you to remember that person. While parts of Hayden’s story are sad, it’s a reality that some people experience, and I could see that Anastasija wrote this story in a way that reflected what she herself felt too (*read author’s note before starting this book).

Now, the accidental pregnancy trope may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I like it ok occasion, and how it’s written. With this story in particular, I felt like the accidental pregnancy trope was something that needed to be done in a way that wasn’t rushed, but also gave Hayden and Riley enough time to grapple with the situation and still be able to develop their own personal feelings for each other. Throughout the book, I got the idea of what Riley experienced in her pregnancy, but at the same time not as much as I had hoped. If anything, I was expecting to see the moment Riley and Hayden in the hospital as the baby was born as that tends to be a really big moment (in my opinion) and further solidifying the relationship between the main characters. In addition, I felt like the accidental pregnancy didn’t happen until way later in the book to the point where I almost wasn’t sure how it was going to pan out in the end. I will say, the way the accidental pregnancy trope was good, but with everything that Hayden and Riley were dealing with, I can understand why certain elements to the story weren’t made as prevalent compared to other books I’ve seen include this trope. That being said, it was cute and heartwarming to later see in the epilogues how Hayden and Riley’s child was.

Overall, this was a good, emotional, yet loving romance. Hayden and Riley had known each other for a long time considering Riley’s sister was Hayden’s best friend, but to see Riley and Hayden finally have their own time together had them unknowingly forming a deeper connection of their own. I liked seeing the journey Hayden had as he later sought the help he needed to work through his depression and own problems to Riley becoming a mother, and finally having the man she always had a crush on see her as the woman she was. I also loved seeing cameos of Piper and Hunter from the first book. I don’t really have any complaints, I thought this was a well written book, and I could tell Anastasija really put a lot of effort into the emotional/ heavier parts of this story to highlight Hayden and Riley’s story.

Synopsis
Riley Evans has loved Hayden Hale for as long as she can remember. As her sister’s best friend, he was always just out of reach, close enough to admire, but never close enough to truly see her.

Now Hayden is a world-famous musician, living behind the walls of his penthouse and haunted by the loss of his best friend. Fame surrounds him, but grief and guilt keep him trapped in the darkness.

Riley has moved on from the life she once dreamed of, trading the pursuit of perfection on stage for teaching ballet to children. But when her sister asks her to check on Hayden, Riley finds herself drawn back into his world. What begins as concern turns into something deeper, something neither of them can ignore.

One night changes everything, leaving Riley with a secret that binds them forever. As the press closes in and Hayden struggles with his past, he must decide whether to keep pushing her away or finally admit the truth: Riley was never invisible to him.

My Thoughts
After reading the first book, Hale, you already get a small introduction to Riley and Hayden. In that book, Hayden is 20 years old and Riley is 15. This story takes place nine years later, so it is in a different timeline. Still, in my opinion, Hayden has not changed that much. Riley was more of a background character in the first book, so we only saw small glimpses of her. Hayden, on the other hand, was Piper’s best friend and Hunter’s brother, so we learned more about him.

Hayden still feels very similar to how he was before. He has good intentions, but sometimes he acts like a bit of a know it all. In the first book he thought he knew what was best for Piper, and in this book he thinks he knows what is best for Riley. I really felt for him after what happened to his best friend, especially because he was the one who found him. That is something you would not wish on anyone. At the same time, I really felt like someone should have pushed him to go to therapy, because the way he was living was not healthy. Sometimes he clung to Riley and hoped she could help him see the light again. But in my opinion, healing from grief takes work and it cannot only come from another person. I did really love how he cared for Inez and Santi. That showed a very soft and kind side of him.

Riley was such a loving and caring main character. She was there for Hayden during his darkest days and kept his trust. Even when Piper came by to check on him, Riley did not share anything about his condition. It was sad to see, because at times it looked like Hayden was just playing with her feelings. Their relationship felt like a big emotional rollercoaster. When the surprise pregnancy happened, things became even more complicated. In the end, I was really happy that they found their way back to each other. I also liked that Riley had her best friend Nastya by her side during everything.

Overall, it was a fun read with a touch of grief that made the story feel more real.

I am so stunned that I don’t know where to ever begin...
This book was a tumultuous rollercoaster ride of anxiety, happiness, dread, sadness, anger, frustration, fear and euphoria!
This is definitely not just a steamy romance that you can read with ease!
This was a beautiful atonement to people who have lost loved ones, have grieved or are in the process of grieving, people battling depression, self-loathe and anxiety!
Us simple and normal people have it bad enough, but to feel all those things while being scrutinized under the public eye and having people who don’t even know you, give their opinions on your life? That is 10x times worse and reading this book was extremely triggering for me, because for the first time, instead of putting myself in the FMC’s shoes, I deeply and widely empathized and recognized myself in Hayden.
Riley is the most sweetest human being i've ever read. There's this softness to her and her kindness and love for her unrequited crush on Hayden, that also acts as a weakness because no matter what she keeps giving him chances after chances. I especially love how she puts her foot down, and starts respecting herself by telling Hayden he cannot keep saying things he cannot hold himself to and 'actions speak louder than words'.
Hayden, hayden, hayden.
This character. This man. He is so deeply layered, its insane. He is not your typical fictional man type. He's not someone who is strong, and emotionally available. He is broken, raw, vulnerable, and seeking soothe from grief and his loud inner demons by indulging in vices. The one person who meant everything to him (Owen) was taken aways from him and he blames himself, spiralling into self-hatred and unsurity. The only person who provides him distraction, who quiets the storms in his head is riley. His best friend's little sister.
The way their relationship and chemistry takes off leading into a blooming relationship, that hayden is not sure he'll be able to keep because he believes everyone in his life is miserable because of him, leading him to continuously play this push and pull game with riley, which leaves her frustrated and confused about what they really are to each other. And then oh the baby!
Riley's accidental pregnancy turns their world upside down, what with the media hounding hayden (him being the famous star that he is), and their shaky relationship tearing at the seams with riley moving out and only agreeing to co-parent with him and nothing more leads hayden to finally face his inner demons when he realizes that riley was never a distraction, she was his soulmate, his forever. They way he goes to therapy and works on himself for him and mostly for her and his future child was revolutionary character development. I know I say I love fiction, but my heart is so full with this hyper realistic fictional steamy romance!
Overall this book absolutely gutted me to the core, spilled my organs out and rearranged it towards the end leaving me so thoroughly aching and satisfied simultaneously!

This story absolutely wrecked me in the best way. It’s emotional, raw, and full of heart, following Hayden and Riley as they navigate grief, love, and the messy road to healing.

Hayden is a rockstar drowning in guilt and heartbreak after losing someone close to him. He’s withdrawn from the world and pushing away everyone who cares about him, convinced that isolation is easier than facing the pain. Riley, his best friend’s little sister, has quietly loved him for years and refuses to give up on him—even when he insists on shutting everyone out.

When circumstances bring Riley back into Hayden’s life and eventually under the same roof, the tension between them becomes impossible to ignore. Their connection is intense, layered with years of unspoken feelings, and the chemistry between them is undeniable. What begins as comfort during a dark time quickly grows into something deeper.

The story doesn’t shy away from heavy themes. It explores grief, depression, trauma, and the complicated process of learning how to live after loss. Yet despite the weight of these topics, the writing handles them with care and authenticity. You truly feel Hayden’s struggle and Riley’s determination to stand beside him.

Things take an unexpected turn when one night together leads to a surprise pregnancy. Riley had always believed becoming a mother might never be possible due to health issues, so the news is overwhelming. Watching Hayden step up and try to rebuild his life for Riley and their child adds another powerful layer to the story, even as he continues battling his inner demons.

Their journey isn’t smooth. Hayden’s fear that he’ll only hurt Riley leads to painful decisions, and Riley is forced to question whether loving him will ultimately break her heart. But seeing both of them grow, confront their pasts, and fight their way back to each other makes the payoff incredibly satisfying.

One of my favorite elements was the way music and emotion intertwine in Hayden’s character—especially the song he writes, which completely broke me. And Riley’s best friend Nastya was such a strong presence throughout the story, always supporting her when she needed it most.

This book perfectly balances emotional depth, romance, and just the right amount of spice. The relationship feels grounded and real, reflecting the ups and downs that come with loving someone who’s still learning how to heal.

Tropes:
- Rockstar x Ballerina
- Forced proximity
- Accidental pregnancy
- Best friend's little sister
- Unrequited love

This book left me speechless. Hade is such a beautiful love story filled with so much growth and love.

Hayden and Riley have been a part of each other's lives forever because Riley is his best friend's little sister. The mmc Hayden is going through heartbreak, trauma and guilt that he feels after losing his friend. He is barely surviving and pushing everyone away because he does not want to worry them, but in doing so he is in a very dark place. Hayden's best friend Piper asks her sister Riley to check in on him because she lives near him. Hayden has always seen Riley as his best friend's little sister until 4 years ago when he unexpectedly saw her after years of not seeing her. Hayden has pushed away and all thoughts about Riley because of how his body responded to her 4 years ago.

Riley has been in love with Hayden most of her life and wants to help him through this difficult time. She knows what it is like to be in such a dark place and feel like there is no way out. Riley sees through the walls that Hayden has built and little by little she breaks through them. But will this be at the expense of her own heart?

Hayden gives into the desire he has for Riley and that night turns into an unexpected pregnancy. Riley has been told that because of her thyroid issues, it would be very unlikely that she could get pregnant. Hayden is very supportive and tells Riley that the decision is hers, when Riley decides to keep the baby Hayden is there for her and their baby in every way. But Hayden is still fighting his demons, and he tells Riley he can't be with her because he will ruin them. Heartbroken and sad Riley decides it is time for her to move on from loving Hayden, but we all know that love doesn't work that way.

The next few months, both Riley and Hayden experience their own personal growth. When Hayden finally realizes that he is in love with Riley, there is no going back. Seeing him work to win her back is everything and when they finally have their HEA it is beautiful.

The song that he writes and how it comes to be had me in tears.

I really loved Riley's best friend Nastya, she definitely had Riley's back throughout the story.

I totally recommend Hades. Please check your triggers.

Hade by Anastasija White is book two in the Hale Brothers series and delivers an emotional, angsty rockstar romance packed with longing, grief, and second chances at love.

This story centers on Riley Evans and Hayden Hale, her sister’s best friend and the man she has quietly loved for most of her life. The best friend’s little sister trope is done beautifully here, especially because Riley is not a naive girl with a crush. She is grown, grounded, and strong in her own right. While Hayden chased fame and became a world-famous musician, Riley walked away from the brutal pressure of the stage and chose to teach ballet to children instead. That contrast between their lives adds depth to their connection.

Hayden is drowning in guilt after the death of his friend. His grief is heavy and isolating, and Anastasija White does not shy away from showing how broken he is. He hides behind his fame and penthouse walls, convinced he ruins everything he touches. Riley has always seen the real him, though, and when she is asked to check on him, their reconnection feels intimate and inevitable.

The accidental pregnancy trope raises the stakes in a way that feels emotional rather than dramatic for the sake of it. It forces Hayden to confront his fears and his self-sabotage. Riley, on the other hand, has reached a point where she refuses to be invisible any longer. Watching her choose herself while still loving him is incredibly satisfying.

The chemistry between them is intense and tender at the same time. Their history, press pressure, and Hayden’s internal battle create constant tension. The pining and the vulnerability make the romance feel earned, especially as Hayden struggles to believe he deserves happiness.

Hade is steamy, heartfelt, and full of emotional weight. It explores grief, healing, and what it means to truly choose someone. If you love rockstar romance, accidental pregnancy, and a hero who has to fight his own darkness to hold onto the woman who has always loved him, this one is worth picking up.

An emotional, gut-wrenching accidental pregnancy romance that proves Anastasija White was absolutely worth the wait.

After what felt like a long wait for the second book in the Hale Brothers series, Anastasija White delivers a story that is raw, emotional, and completely impossible to put down with Hade.

If you read the first book in the Hale Brothers series (Hade’s brother’s story), you already know this author has a talent for creating deeply emotional romances that feel bigger than just a love story. Her books pull you into the characters’ lives, their pain, their hope, and their fight for happiness — and Hade is no exception.

Riley Evans has been in love with her sister’s best friend, Hayden Hale, for years. But pretending to hate him has always been her only way to survive the feelings she’s buried deep inside. For so long, the act has worked… until life changes everything.

After the devastating loss of Hayden’s best friend — and bandmate in their wildly successful band — Hayden is drowning in grief, shutting himself away from the world. When someone needs to check on him, Riley is the one tasked with doing it.

As the weeks pass, the tension between them begins to simmer. Years of hidden feelings, unresolved pain, and undeniable chemistry build until the connection between them is impossible to ignore. When it finally explodes… watch out.

But grief still lingers, and Riley is carrying secrets from her past that she’s kept tightly locked away. Just as they begin to face what’s really between them, two pink lines appear — and suddenly everything changes.

Can Hayden and Riley fight through grief, buried truths, and years of complicated emotions to find their way to each other… or will the weight of it all be too much?

This is the kind of romance that grabs hold of your heart and doesn’t let go — emotional, intense, and filled with the kind of love that has to fight to survive.

I went into Hade by Anastasija White not really knowing what to expect, but it ended up being a really engaging read. The story follows Hade, a famous rockstar, and Riley, a former ballerina whose life takes a different path after several difficult events. Their story also includes several popular romance tropes such as friends to lovers, forced proximity, and an accidental pregnancy.

The book explores heavier themes including the loss of a close friend, Owen, to suicide, thyroid condition representation, and grief, while still delivering a very character driven romance.

One thing that stood out to me was how easy the story was to get pulled into. The pacing kept me interested and the chemistry between Hade and Riley felt natural. This was also one of the first steamy romances I’ve read where I didn’t feel the urge to skip the spicy scenes. They were genuinely spicy and fun, and they added to the tension and connection between the characters instead of feeling unnecessary.

I also really liked Riley’s best friend Nastya, who is very protective of her. She brought a lot of heart to the story and added another layer to Riley’s support system. Riley’s sister Piper, who is also Hade’s best friend, added an interesting dynamic to the story and made me curious about the first book in the series and her relationship with her husband.

While I enjoyed the book overall, there were a couple things that kept it from being a full five star read for me. The reason Riley stepped away from her ballerina career felt a little weak, and some of the conflicts between her and Hade were a bit frustrating at times. Riley occasionally became jealous or insecure over things that didn’t feel like major issues, which was annoying to me.

Overall, Hade was a fun and emotional romance with engaging characters and strong chemistry between the leads. Even though the story touches on heavier topics like grief and loss, it still manages to balance those themes with romance and lighter moments. It kept my attention the whole way through and was one of the few steamy romances where I actually enjoyed reading the spicy scenes instead of skipping them.

Rating: 3.5 to 4 stars.
I would recommend Hade by Anastasija White to readers who enjoy steamy, character driven romances with emotional themes like grief, found family, and unexpected pregnancy.

🎤 Invisible no more: grief, guilt & one very dangerous night 🎶

4.75 ⭐️ | 3.5 🌶️

I went into Hade knowing exactly what kind of emotional ride I was signing up for and somehow, Hade still managed to wreck me in the best possible way.

As the second installment in The Hale Brothers, this book can absolutely stand on its own, but if you’ve read book one, the emotional layers hit harder. I’ve read several books by Anastasija White, so I already trusted her voice: raw, emotional and unafraid to sit in the messiness of grief and love.

Hayden Hale is our MMC: world-famous musician, grieving the loss of his best friend and bandmate and slowly suffocating inside his own guilt. He’s closed off, self-destructive, and convinced he’s toxic to anyone who gets too close.

Riley Evans, his best friend’s little sister, has loved him quietly for years. She’s warmth, patience and quiet strength wrapped in a former ballerina who chose passion over perfection. When she steps back into Hayden’s life to check on him, the connection that’s always simmered finally ignites.

One night changes everything.
Yes, everything.

What I loved most about Hade is how deeply it explores grief and PTSD without romanticizing the damage it causes. Hayden’s pain feels real. Riley’s exhaustion from waiting, hoping, and loving someone who won’t choose himself yet? Also painfully real. Their dynamic is tender, frustrating, and achingly human.

Tropes? Oh, they’re troping:
• friends to lovers
• accidental pregnancy
• forced proximity
• childhood crush
• “it’s been you all along”
• emotionally unavailable rockstar MMC
• and yes… the infamous barbell 🍆 piercing (IYKYK 🔥)

The spice is there but this book is far more about emotional intimacy than heat. It’s about growth, choosing love despite fear, and learning that being broken doesn’t make you unworthy; it just makes healing harder.

Huge thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the e-ARC, and congratulations to Anastasija White on the upcoming release (March 11th). Hade is proof that sometimes the quiet girl was never invisible; he just wasn’t ready to see her yet. 💔❤️‍🔥

Five stars. Ten if I could. I need to lie down but also immediately reread it.

Hayden Hale is the walking definition of beautiful, brooding chaos. World famous rockstar. Grief carved into his bones. Guilt sitting on his chest like a permanent weight. He is spiraling in a glass penthouse tower and pretending it’s just “creative temperament.” Meanwhile Riley Evans has loved him since forever. Best friend’s little sister. The girl in the corner of the room he definitely noticed but convinced himself he shouldn’t. The slow burn of that dynamic? Exquisite torture.

Riley choosing ballet. Choosing stability. Choosing kids over fame. I adored that about her. She is softness with a spine. She is patience running out. She is not the same wide eyed girl anymore and Hayden feels that shift. When they reconnect it is not some fluffy reunion. It is raw. It is messy. It feels like two people who have circled each other for years finally colliding.

And then that night. That one night that flips everything on its head.

The accidental pregnancy trope can feel chaotic in the wrong hands. Here it feels inevitable. Like the universe finally got tired of waiting for Hayden to wake up. The tension after that reveal had my heart sprinting. The press circling like vultures. His grief still gnawing at him. His fear of ruining her. The way he pushes and pulls because loving her feels like both salvation and danger.

But what wrecked me in the best way is this: Riley is done being invisible. She loves him, yes. But she will not beg. Watching Hayden slowly realize that she has always been his light, even when he tried to sit in the dark, was chef’s kiss perfection.

The steam? Delicious. Emotional rather than gratuitous. The kind that makes your chest tight because it is tangled with years of longing.

This book hurt. It healed. It made me want to scream at Hayden and hug him at the same time. It made me fiercely protective of Riley. It made me believe that sometimes the person who saves you from yourself is the one who has been quietly loving you all along.

Standalone? Yes. But now I need the entire Hale Brothers universe injected directly into my veins.

This is Book 2 of the Hale Brothers series!

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰

He’s a broken rockstar drowning in grief.
She’s the girl who’s loved him forever.
And one night changes everything.

Hade is an emotional, steamy rockstar romance filled with longing, heartbreak, and the complicated pull of a love that’s been years in the making.

Riley Evans has spent most of her life loving Hayden Hale from afar. As her sister’s best friend, he was always just out of reach—someone she admired quietly while he chased fame and music stardom. To him, Riley was the sweet younger sister figure he never allowed himself to see differently.
Until years later.

Now Hayden is a world-famous musician hiding from the world in his penthouse, haunted by grief and guilt after losing someone close to him. Riley, meanwhile, has stepped away from the pressure of performing and built a quieter life teaching ballet.

When Riley’s sister asks her to check on Hayden, she walks back into a world—and a man—she never truly left behind.

Their reunion is filled with unresolved emotions, years of suppressed attraction, and a vulnerability neither of them expected. What begins as comfort during Hayden’s darkest moment turns into a night that changes both of their lives forever.

The story balances emotional depth with intense chemistry. Hayden’s grief and self-blame make him a deeply flawed hero, while Riley’s patience and strength shine as she refuses to remain invisible any longer. Their relationship explores themes of healing, forgiveness, and finally choosing the love that’s been waiting all along.

And with the pressure of fame, media scrutiny, and a life-altering surprise looming over them, both characters are forced to confront what they truly want—and whether they’re brave enough to fight for it.

Riley has been in love with her sister’s best friend, Hayden, for as long as she can remember. To him, she was always just the "little sister"—until tragedy struck. When a band member’s suicide sends Hayden into a spiral of deep depression, Riley’s sister asks her to check in on him. What starts as a welfare check turns into a deep, complicated connection that changes both of their lives forever.

I really enjoyed this book! Would I have liked it better if Hayden had been more serious about Riley earlier on? Yes. But he showed up when it truly mattered, so he definitely gets points for that.
Riley is such an admirable character. Even though we don't get an incredibly in-depth look at her backstory, it's clear she has been through a lot. Despite that, she remains optimistic and holds onto her high standards—she refuses to settle or stoop low, which I found really refreshing.

The grief and guilt consuming Hayden felt visceral. It was deep, real, and touched every level of his character. He’s struggling not only with depression but with an internal war regarding his art, feeling like Riley deserves so much more than what he can give. I honestly wanted to knock some sense into him! However, once the news of the pregnancy hits, he truly tries to step up and be there for her.

The tension was great, and the emotional depth showed how two people can truly connect through shared pain. While the story made sense, I did find myself wishing for a little more—specifically more focus on how deep his fall for her was, how they navigated the pressures of fame, and more details on the pregnancy journey. I would have loved to see them fully embracing their roles as mom and dad.

All in all, it’s a solid, emotional read!

What its About: She's my best friend's little sister and the only person who can save me from my darkness.

My Thoughts: 5/5 stars. Both the Hale Brothers books were 5 stars from me! Anastasija is becoming one of those authors for me that if she writes it I am going to read it! Her stories never disappoint! I felt horrible for Hayden but then towards the middle of the book I started wanting to smack some sense into him! I do wish we had some more of the birth because once Hayden figured out what he wanted he seemed like such a good partner and dad. I wanted more of that! Riley is an strong FMC especially knowing what she went through and overcame!

Trigger Warning ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️: there is a fair amount of mental health, depression, suicidal ideation and suicide representation throughout the book. If this is triggering do not read.

Spice rating: 🌶🌶. One thing Anastasija White knows how to do is write spice! Good balance between plot and spice. Plot is not lost once the spice enters the chat

Thank you Greys promo and Anastasija White for this ARC opportunity! All of these thoughts and opinions are my own.

Riley has had a crush on her sister’s best friend for as long as she can remember, but when his world is turned upside down and she’s the only one living in New York, she gets sent to check on him. The man she finds is a ghost of the one she fell in love with, but as much as she wants to stay with him to make sure he’s alright, she knows that spending more time in his presence will only make it harder to walk away when he once again disregards her as nothing more than his best friend’s little sister.

Hayden had it all, the glamorous life of a rockstar, until he found his best friend’s body and everything crumbled around him. Now he’s living in his New York penthouse but barely doing more than surviving. Until Riley comes to check on him and breathes new life into him. Now he’s finding excuses to spend time with her, and seeing her in ways he’s never allowed himself to before, but when one night of passion threatens to change everything, he pulls away, afraid of what it could mean.

I received an early copy of this book from Grey’s Promotions and absolutely loved it! Hade is the perfect broken hero, clawing his way out of grief in the only way he knows how. Despite how he ends up treating Riley, it’s clear that he is ultimately trying to protect her from himself, even if he has the worst ways of showing it. I loved how Riley put herself first when it counted, and no matter how long she’s loved Hayden, refused to accept less than she deserved. This book portrayed grief perfectly, especially following a loss like the one Hayden suffered, it demonstrated how it is not a linear process, and sometimes the smallest thing can send you in a tailspin. After a loss like this one, the guilt is enough to eat you alive, and the author managed to show all the aspects beautifully, without glamourizing any of it. Hade and Riley’s story was so real and so pure, and even though it was clear they would be end game, I’m glad their journey there wasn’t a smooth one.

Hade by Anastasija White is book two in the Hale Brothers series.
This story centers on Riley Evans and Hayden Hale, her sister’s best friend and the man she has quietly loved for most of her life. While Hayden chased fame and became a world-famous musician, Riley walked away from the pressure of the stage and chose to teach ballet to children instead. That contrast between their lives adds so much depth to their connection. In this respect, I feel like it was also an opposites attract situation.
Hayden is drowning in guilt after the death of his friend. His grief is heavy and isolating, and he is truly broken. He hides from the world at his penthouse, convinced he ruins everything he touches. The only thing keeping him going is being there for his friends widow and son. Riley has always seen the real him, though, and when she is asked to check on him, their reconnection feels intimate, raw, and inevitable.
When Riley accidentally ends up pregnant, it forces Hayden to confront his fears and his pattern of self-sabotage. Riley, on the other hand, has reached a point where she refuses to be invisible any longer. Watching her choose herself while still loving him is incredibly satisfying.
The chemistry between them is intense and tender at the same time. Their history, the constant pressure of the press, and Hayden’s internal battle create tension on every page. The pining and vulnerability make the romance feel earned, especially as Hayden struggles to believe he deserves happiness.
Overall, this is a deeply emotional story about healing, forgiveness, and learning that love is not something you have to suffer for—it can be safe, steady, and transformative. If you love rockstar romance with angst, yearning, emotional growth, and a heroine who knows her worth, this one absolutely delivers. I highly recommend this book!

TWO TRUTHS AND A... Hade is the second book in the Hale Brothers series by Anastasija White. This one is definitely different from the first book so, please check your triggers. Accidental Pregnancy with your best friends little sister, forced proximity, a rockstar with a ballerina and a HEA with bonus epilogues is the reason this should be downloaded today. The book is a journey of being stuck in the dark, then a light takes you by the hand and shows you there is more, so much more...

TW: Alcohol consumption, death of a friend, depression, discussion of self harm, discussion of suicide and suicidal thoughts, explicit language, grief and loss, mention of drug use, mention of cheating (side characters), mention of suicide (side characters), explicit on page sexual content is consensual between adults.

I would like to Thank Grey's Promotions for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promised an honest review.

Hayden Hale is the lead singer for the rock band Sabotage and they are on top of it all until his best friend does the unthinkable. Now he's in a downward spiral with no way to make it stop.

Riley Evans is a former Ballerina who now teaches it to young ladies. Her sister and brother in law keep sending her over to do a wellness check on Hade.

Hade is attracted to her but has hid it for a few years now and Ry has always had a crush on him since forever. She seems to be the only light in his dark and a distraction that silences the noise.

Then a positive pregnancy leads to her being his roommate but he pushes her away and wants to be only friends.

Ry chooses herself and her child and walks away. Now it's time for Hade to finish one last song and rejoin the world that he let go past, will they be apart of it?

Grab your Kleenex, because Anastasija put me on an emotional rollercoaster with Hade!

I have been waiting due Hayden’s story since reading him in Hale; and I’m going to say it, I loved this book more than I did Hale’s story. Hayden showcased so much heartbreak and pain, but also displayed so much love for those close to his heart. It’s through his grief where you see him fight his way back to the person he used to be - and back to Riley, who’s been his saving grace from the very start.

I loved that there wasn’t a huge age gap this time around when writing Riley and Hayden’s story. I loved that while Piper and Hunter were still involved in this story, they weren’t heavily present in it - giving us a chance to like newer characters that were a part of both Riley’s inner circle or that of Hayden’s. Absolutely loved Ines and Santi. I liked Riley’s friend, Nastya, but she came off a tad too harsh and unsympathetic, especially where Hayden was coming from with his grief and guilt.

I absolutely loved Riley. I wanted to see a past POV to understand fully her own trauma she was dealing with. I loved her strength but also loved her vulnerability when it came to her feelings for Hayden.

Things I would have loved seeing in this story was a little one on one scene between Nastya and Hayden; simply for the fact that some of what Riley was going through in some ways mirrored what Hayden was dealing with in terms of his friend. Perhaps then she wouldn’t have come off so negative towards him.

I loved the chemistry between Hayden and Riley… and I love an accidental pregnancy trope. These two were so perfectly written, and out of the series, I liked Riley and Hayden more.

A very good book. I hope we get to revisit these characters in the future.

✨ ARC Review – Thank you to the author for providing an advance reader copy. All thoughts are my own as a reader. ✨

Some love stories don’t just entertain you — they emotionally move through you.

From the moment Hayden and Riley were introduced earlier in the series, I knew their story would carry weight. And this book absolutely delivers on that promise.

This is not just a romance you read casually. It’s emotionally intense in a way that requires you to be present. Yes, readers should absolutely check trigger warnings — but not only for darker themes. The emotional depth itself is something you need to be prepared for. This story asks you to sit with vulnerability, grief, growth, and the quiet battles people fight alone.

What stood out most to me was the evolution. Every character feels shaped by their past, and the way they grow throughout the narrative feels earned rather than convenient. The emotional pacing allows you to witness healing in a realistic way — not rushed, not glossed over.

Hayden and Riley’s journey is layered with tension, tenderness, and self-reflection. Their connection isn’t just romantic — it feels transformative. It highlights the idea that even when you feel isolated in your struggles, there can still be light waiting on the other side.

For readers who appreciate contemporary romance with depth, maturity, and emotional resonance, this is a five-star experience. 🤍✨

Thank you again for trusting readers with this advance copy. I would truly love to continue supporting future projects and be considered for upcoming ARCs as well.

Hade by Anastasija White is book two in the Hale Brothers series and can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading book 1. It's worth the time and very good.
Books 2 delivers an emotional, angsty rockstar romance packed with longing, grief, and second chance at love. This story centers on Riley Evans and Hayden Hale who have know each other their whole lives.

Riley is the best friend's little sister and has yearned for Hayden from afar most of her life. Riley is teaching ballet lessons after walking away from the pressure to be on stage. She knows he won't ever think of her more than his friend's little sister. Her sister always asks her to watch out for him. One night she is forced to find a temporary place to live and moves in with Hayden.

Hayden is drowning in guilt after the death of his friend. He like to hide away in his penthouse and shut out the world when it's gets too "loud".

The chemistry between them is intense and tender at the same time. There is a lot "we shouldn't and this is the only time". The pining and the vulnerability make the romance feel earned, especially as Hayden struggles to believe he deserves happiness.

If you love rockstar romance, accidental pregnancy, and a hero who has to fight his own darkness to hold onto the woman who has always loved him, this one is for you. The grief and healing is beautifully done.

Thank you Greys Promo for the ARC opportunity.

This story carries a quiet heaviness that lingers long after you turn the last page. And I couldn’t put it down! Anastasija White I can’t wait to read more from you!

So I didn’t realize that this was book 2 when I signed up for this ARC so I went and read book 1 and I’m glad I did! The back story there gives you some insight and better understanding of the characters, but it’s not necessary to dive into this story!

The portrayal of depression felt raw and deeply relatable. It wasn’t romanticized or exaggerated. It was honest. You could feel the weight of it in the silences, in the choices, in the moments where healing didn’t come easily.

The accidental pregnancy trope was strategically placed and thoughtfully woven into the story. It didn’t feel like drama for the sake of drama. It shifted the emotional landscape in a way that felt intentional and meaningful.

I also loved the way the friendship developed. Watching trust build and bonds strengthen added warmth to a story that navigates some darker emotional spaces. Those connections felt steady and grounding.

And the spice? Just right. Enough to spark and simmer without overwhelming the emotional depth. It complemented the story rather than competing with it.

If I had one small wish, I would have loved more of the post pregnancy journey. I wasn’t ready to let go of that chapter of their lives.

Overall, this was emotional, layered, and heartfelt. A solid four star read for me.

Forgot-me-nots were mentioned a few times and trust me Anastasija, this book is definitely a Forget-me-not!

Hayden and Riley’s story was incredibly sweet and emotional.

Hayden is a broken man after the tragic loss of his best friend and bandmate. The grief and guilt weigh heavily on him, especially because of the way his friend died, leaving Hayden convinced that he could have done more to help. Riley, who has had a crush on Hade for years, has always been part of his world. As her sister’s best friend, their lives have long been intertwined. When Hayden is at his lowest, Riley is the one who shows up for him, checking in and trying to help him navigate his grief.

Even though they try to keep their distance, their chemistry and connection are impossible to ignore. And when they finally give in to temptation, two pink lines change their lives forever.

What I loved most is that Hayden was all in from the beginning. Despite the heavy topics that affect the course of their relationship, he shows real maturity by seeking professional help and committing himself fully to both Riley and the baby. He truly steps up and does everything he can to earn Riley’s trust and love.

Riley was also such a strong heroine. She knew when to step back and choose herself, making Hayden work for her forgiveness. She was sweet but never naïve, and I loved that even though she loved him deeply, she still prioritized herself.

If you enjoy rockstar romances featuring a broken MMC, best friend’s little sister, and an accidental pregnancy, this is definitely a book you’ll want to check out. Just be sure to look up the content warnings beforehand. Your mental health matters.

Thank you so much to Anastasija and Grey's Promotions for this great eARC!

This was everything I hoped and wanted for Hayden and Riley’s story. When I met both of them in Hale and then Flashforward to them now in this story I really was able to completely sink into it knowing where they came from to where they both are now, especially Hayden. Hayden’s character had a lot of depth to him. We are able to really meet a whole other side of him that was more than just Piper’s best friend and Hunters little brother. Riley when you meet her in Hale was a young girl and completely not in Hayden’s view but she grew into a beautiful and strong woman. Someone that took Hayden’s breath away and it’s those types of love story’s that I totally love. Love story’s where they both kinda save each other.

There are tr!ggers that Anastasjia dealt with beautifully. The story as a whole was simply an emotionally charged journey of grief and loss and finding yourself. It deals with the kind of loss that really can kinda break you as a person. But having someone that can see past the mask you put on can be a powerful thing.

It was a slow burn but once it heats there’s no going back with how hot these two were for each other. It’s angsty and parts made me wanna scream at Hayden for how he deals with things but it’s all important to how he gets to be the person that Riley needs and deserves. Everything that happened made the ending that much sweeter.

If you haven’t read Hale book one then I really do highly suggest it. To get a full grasp of who they are and how big their connection is in this book I feel it’s important.

Ana has absolutely blown me away with this one. I’m honestly still a little speechless after finishing this book. The emotions in this story run so deep, but Ana could not have done it more perfectly.

We finally got Hayden's (Hades) story, which I have been waiting for ever since reading Hale. He is a rockstar drowning in grief, after losing his best friend, and then we have sweet Riley, his best friend’s younger sister and a ballet teacher who has always been there for him. They have a long history, which includes Riley having liked Hade for years and that adds so much weight into every time they are together, and the tension between them had me completely sucked in, I just could not stop reading.

What stood out to me most was how Anastasija so perfectly created a story that explores grief, depression, and PTSD without ever romanticizing the pain. You can feel Hayden’s struggles through the pages and Riley’s strength, how she continues to love someone who is still fighting to choose himself. Every day she is carrying her own burdens and pain but still finds a way to show up for him and that made her incredibly selfles and I loved her even more for it. This book was impossible to put down from start to finsih. It is just packed with emotion, both heavy and beautiful and it shows us the messy, complicated and raw parts of healing. This book healed something in me I did not realize still needed healing.

I’ve read every single one of Ana's books, and I feel like I say this every time but this one might honestly be my new favorite.
