"Promise?" "Promise."

There are books that touch our hearts from the very first page, and Make Me Trust Again was exactly that for me. The moment I finished the prologue, I just knew I was going to love it.

This is Rose and Chase’s story, but it is so much more than a romance. Anna brings every single emotion to life, especially through Kyle and everything surrounding him.

Rose is the perfect portrait of a strong woman: fearless, protective, and endlessly devoted. The way she fights to give her son the life he deserves and how deeply she loves and protects her family was inspiring. I found myself rooting for her at every turn.

Chase is the kind of character we cannot help but fall for, the grumpy wounded hero with a heart of gold. Watching him rediscover himself, open up to love, and finally realize he is worthy of it was truly beautiful.

And then there is Kyle. He completely stole my heart. He is the soul of this story, and every scene with him was a joy. Honestly, I would do anything for that kid.

I also adored the small-town setting, the engaging writing style, and the way every character felt alive and real. Without a doubt, I will be reading the previous books set in this world as well as the future ones. Matthew, I know your story is coming and I absolutely cannot wait.

so this was a surprise? i went into it expecting nothing but i ended up having a great time and giggling to myself a lot.

chase williams is definitly a Man. the way he took care of rose and kyle 🥹 he learned asl to talk to kyle, he was always protecting them. his past kind of broke me, i wanted to see more of that. i would totally read more books of their story.

the book didnt feel rushed at all, it's a slow burn and that man yearns im telling you.

rose and chase were soooooo cute 🥹 and the three of them + the two dogs was so wholesome 🤍

Swoon Worthy!! I absolutely adored Chase and Rose’s story. After leaving behind an abusive marriage, Rose is determined to build a better life for herself and her sweet little boy, Kyle. What she doesn’t expect is Chase Williams—the quiet, brooding veteran next door who carries the weight of his past like a shadow. From the moment he steps in to help her (more than once), there’s an undeniable spark neither of them can ignore.

The chemistry between Chase and Rose is beautifully written—soft, patient, and full of healing. Watching Chase slowly let down his walls as Rose and Kyle bring light back into his life was heartwarming and emotional. Their story isn’t just about love; it’s about finding strength after pain and learning that broken hearts can still beat together.

Though I wished for a bit more insight into Chase’s military past, this story had me hooked from start to finish. It’s a touching, emotional read that leaves you believing in second chances and the kind of love that quietly saves you when you least expect it.

If you’re looking for a book that will absolutely destroy you, look no further! I knew from chapter one this book would be a tear jerker but I didn’t know it would tare at my heart and touch my soul! Be prepared for an emotional ride because Ana B Doe does not disappoint!

Rose and Chase are both emotionally broken and running from their pasts. Neither is looking for a relationship but sometimes you find your soulmate in the most unlikely of places and when you least expect it.

Rose’s son Kyle is absolutely precious and so wise beyond his seven years. This kid is so brave and resilient in a world that sees him as less and abnormal.

The representation in this book really touched me. I have a cousin with three children who are deaf and an aunt who works closely with Canine Companions. CCI dogs can make a significant impact on veteran lives and is such an amazing program. I love that Chase had Shadow in this story and all of the detailed interactions shared that showed how intelligent Shadow is on reading Chase’s emotions and helping him cope through stressful situations.

Make Me Trust Again is a heartbreakingly beautiful, angsty, and romantic standalone featuring two of my favorite characters from this author’s Bluebonnet Creek Series. An expertly crafted story, I devoured this small town, close proximity, single parent, slow burn romance! Make Me Trust Again is not for the faint of heart. It is a novel that will pull at your heartstrings. Yet, for all of the angst, there are moments of levity, humorous banter, romantic moments, and spicy scenes that make this novel truly outstanding.

This book has admirable and captivating main characters. Chase, the grump who is damaged, but not broken. Rose, the woman that has been burned in the past and is the most dedicated & loving mother. Then there is Kyle, Rose's son that will win readers’ hearts with his sweet nature.

With superb character development, it is impossible not to marvel at the strength each of them possesses.
Chase is sexy, broody, and protective. This veteran is a hermit and doesn’t often socialize with others. However, Rose and Kyle both have the ability to carefully pull him out of his shell. He is a complex hero with many layers - layers that slowly reveal his vulnerabilities, his strengths, and his massive um. . . Heart.

As for Rose, this is a woman that is so easy to relate to. Yes, her backstory is heart-breaking, however one cannot help but admire her resilience. That of her own inner strength and that strength also directed towards her son. Wearing invisible scars, she is cautious but also giving and loving. Given the nature of her past, one wonders if she will ever trust again?

Rose and Chase both seem like an unlikely pair and there are definitely physical and emotional obstacles that make a relationship complicated. But isn’t love always complicated and isn’t it always worth it in the end? The slow burn aspect was well done and the smoldering chemistry between them was off the charts.

I typically shy away from romances with kids in them, but I adored Kyle! He is sweetest child, but also has this awareness about him that makes him seem wise beyond his years. He communicates primarily through American Sign Language (ASL), which I loved as that is how my own daughter often communicates.

Make Me Trust Again is a definite must read for those who love beautiful contemporary romances with captivating characters and an engaging plot line. The author will take the reader on an emotional that in the end, will leave you with a huge smile on your face!

There is just something about a grumpy, reclusive man that's only soft for her that just hits different. Add in the fact that she's a single mom to a little boy that deaf... yeaaah I MELTED into a puddle.

Chase showed SO much growth in this book. My heart ached for him and everything that he went through. Nobody knew the extent to which his demons ran so when he finally opened up to Rose and let her in, it felt like such a relief. His bond was Kyle was probably my favorite thing in the entire book. Kyle needed someone who just wanted to do things with them and Chase was able to do that & more. When he started signing back to Kyle, I lost it. That was such a sweet moment. Also, idk why but I was NOT expecting him to have such a filthy mouth but I was 10000% here for it 🥵🥵🥵

My heart went out to Rose. She just wanted her family to stay together so badly but a girl can only take so much before she breaks and break she did. Not gonna lie, her mom was PISSSING me TF off. A few times I just wanted to smack her upside the head 🤣🤣 I was cheering when Rose finally put her in her place.

The connection between Rose & Chase was just so sweet. It wasn't an easy journey for them but the end result was beautiful.

4.5 stars. If “if he wanted to, he would” was in the dictionary, Chase Williams’ photo would accompany it. This was such a sweet story with so much angst. Rose & Chase are both so protective of those they care about, and Kyle was such a sweet kid dealing with all life threw at him.

The deaf and hard of hearing rep was done with care, as was the ptsd. I would have liked to see more healing on Chase’s part, but kudos to Anna for writing a struggling man in therapy.

I love good friends (?) to lovers romance! Ex friends brother to lover? I don't know, but I was definitely here for it. It's sweet and spicy, and I love this little hometown.

Rose is married. She has a wonderful son named Kyle that shed do anything for. And one thing she'll do? Give him a better life away from her husband, John. Who treats Kyle like he's lesser than, because he's deaf.

But it's very hard starting ober when your ex is fighting you and you dont have the support of your family.

So when an old friend mentions that her brother has a spot, this could be the break Rose is looking for. Except the brother Chase? He wants nothing to do with helping out. He's a veteran who's living the quiet life after a life changing accident left him pretty scarred.

When Chase changes his mind, tho? It's when the real romance slowly starts. Chase builds a fantastic relationship with Kyle. It's really beautiful to see. He becomes what Kyle needs. And he protects Rose and helps build her up. I just love found family.

Theres some issues. Of course. But Chase really changes his life when Rose and Kyle come along.

Full of sweetness, about two broken people who heal themselves and each other. More Bluebonnet, please!

Nothing to see over here, it’s just me crying over another beautiful book by Anna 🥹 This book was so emotional & it hit so close to home with a prior military MMC with PTSD. Her writing portrayed such a heavy topic so realistically and with so much grace. Chase stole my heart from the get go.

I honestly loved all of them, Rose, Kyle, Chase, & Shadow. The perfect little family that found each other after trauma 🥹 I’m obsessed with how committed Chase was to Kyle. He showed up for him again and again. And when Kyle gave Chase his sign name, I was in a puddle of tears 😭

Rose is an extremely strong FMC & I admire her loyalty to Chase. She stuck with him over and over, even through his darkness. They’re true soulmates.

4.5/5✨
3/5🌶️

Proud to be part of Anna B. Doe ARC team 🩵. Thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to read this book in advance 🤗.

Rose was part of a toxic marriage, not being appreciated and most importantly loved. John neither cared for his own kid, Kyle, who unfortunately was born deaf and that only irritated him more, neither for his wife. But Rose's glass was now spilling out from all the things John did and determined that it was enough. So, she decided to divorce him and move out to be as far away from him as they could. One thing led to another and Rose met Chase, a man who's gone through a very traumatic event and the physical and mental scars were still very much present. This grumpy man had such a huge heart that he ignored how much he was bothered by people and accepted to take the cottage which was next to his own house. But can Chase keep ignoring them and continue with his grumpy attitude and lonely life?

Even from the start I was super intrigued about Chase and why he was in that state. Unfortunately, I got my answers and I was devastated for him. I was super happy though that Rose and Kyle appeared in his life and I loved how much he evolved throughout the book. This whole connection between these three was amazing, super cute and necessary for them to heal and to see how wonderful life can be. And it was great to see how Chase took some chances there, even though he hated it but it was so worth it! Rose and Kyle didn't have the best life when they were living with John and I was super emotional to see how lovely Chase was with Kyle and how effortless was their relationship.

I'll always love a story which has many emotional scenes and which has complex characters. This one had those and I liked how the plotline developed and how these characters got to shine in their own way, even though they were far from being perfect, but they were so right for each other.

Make me trust again eARC review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it, the writing style was easy to read, the pacing was good and the characters were well written. Anna had me routing for our main character whilst simultaneously creating a character that I despised so much he may make my list of most hated characters.

Rose and her son Kyles story was at times hard to read as all you want is for them to be happy and get away from their past but it just keeps creeping back, add in our closed off ex military man Chase with a traumatic past, who can’t help but keep showing up for them no matter how hard he tries to stay away, and I just knew I was going to enjoy seeing how this story progressed.

I myself have little knowledge of ASL, the deaf community or things related to hearing loss but I loved the inclusion of it in this story, Kyle was a character that burst of the page with his personality and charm and to see his struggles with a person who is suppose to love and support him made me want to hurl my kindle across the room. And then we have Chase who has not long known this little boy, but goes out of his way to learn how to communicate with him, my heart!🥹

I really enjoyed the relationship development between Rose and Chase, it wasn’t rushed, they both had things to work through and they became friends and built that foundation before it progressed to more. The spice in this was very well written and felt authentic and emotionally impactful to their story.

ARC Review: 5⭐️
Make Me Trust Again is book 3 in the Bluebonnet Creek series frosting Chase Williams & Rose Hathaway.

Rose leaves her husband, takes their son with her and files for divorce. She moves in her parents until she is able to find a place of her own, which in Bluebonnet Creek is nearly impossible.

After a mission goes wrong, Chase is medically discharged from the military and is back home on his families farm. He avoids people as best he can but his sister Becky suggests Rose & her son move into a cottage on the family property which Chase immediately turns down.

After stumbling upon rose looking at another house that is a dump, Chase has a change of heart and agrees to them moving in. Roses son Kyle, is very curious of Chase and his house remodel and often ventures over to see what he’s up to.

Kyle was born deaf and his father John has never shown interest in him because of it. Chase however has shown l interest in Kyle since he and rose moved onto his property, taking the time to teach him things and also learn how to communicate with him on some level.

The more time Chase and Rose spend together, the more their feelings for one another grow. One night when the three of them are at the county fair, Kyle disappears and Chase will risk everything to find him. Will he find Kyle before something happens to him?

This hook was so sweet and touches on a few difficult topics, but Anna told the story with such care. I absolutely adored this book and I love this series so much!

Thank you Anna for the ARC!!

Make Me Trust Again is the third book in the Bluebonnet Creek series. It is a contemporary, slow-burn, small town romance with a broody, wounded ex-military man and a protective single mom of a hearing impaired child.

I loved Chase and Rose's story. These two wonderful characters hold their internal wounds close to their chests. Sharing and trusting is truly hard for them. I loved the way they finally come together. I loved how they burrow into each other's hearts and help heal their wounds.

I also adored Kyle. He is such an amazing kid, and I loved the way that Chase is with him. I loved how they bond through their joint struggles and their shared love of dogs too.

This is my first read by this author and I can honestly say, it certainly won't be my last. I'm never sure what to expect with a new to me author, but I was pleasantly surprised by this author. The writing, flow, pace, and plot of the story were amazing, as were the characters, character development, storytelling, storyline, relationship development, and world building. This was an emotional and healing journey for Chase and Rose and I absolutely loved every single minute second of it. I cannot wait to read more from this incredible author.

This book hit me straight in the heart. It is quiet, emotional, and full of moments that stay with you long after you close the book 🤍

Rose is a single mom who is doing everything she can to build a safe, loving life for her son. Chase is her grumpy, wounded neighbor who keeps to himself on his ranch and insists he is no one’s savior, even while constantly showing up when she needs him. Their connection builds slowly and gently, rooted in trust, patience, and care rather than big gestures.

What made this story special for me was how real it felt. The slow burn is beautifully done, the healing is not rushed, and the way Chase takes care of Rose and her son without ever expecting anything in return had my heart melting. Kyle is such a bright spot in this book, and the ASL representation is handled with so much respect and warmth.

This is a story about two broken people learning to feel safe again, finding family where they least expect it, and allowing themselves to hope for love. It's sweet, emotional, and so worth the read 🫶🏻

CW: military flashbacks, abusive ex

Loved this sweet story about a mom going through a rough divorce while accidentally falling in love with her grumpy next door neighbor.

Rose and her son Kyle, who is deaf, are looking for a place to stay during her divorce. She’s in her hometown and knows quite a lot of people but never got to know her childhood friend’s brother as an adult.

Chase is a wounded army vet who still has PTSD flashbacks, nightmares, and a lifetime of guilt for not saving his crew.

But he saves Rose and Kyle time and time again.

Chase’s grumpy exterior is off putting for the small town of Bluebonnet Creek and even so more accentuated with his physical scars and him rarely leaving his family’s property since he’s been back.

Rose and Kyle move onto his property and Kyle is so interested in Chase’s retired K9, Shadow. They semi-instantly bond and Rose loves seeing Kyle come out of his shell.

The book is well written and we get a HEA with some suspense, heartwarming moments, and a good amount of “hurt her and die”.

This was my first Bluebonnet Creek book (#3 in the series) and I’ve already added the others to my TBR to find out the backstory of the characters I’ve missed.

Such a sweet story! Our MMC is Chase, a grumpy veteran who is dealing with PTSD and prefers to be alone. However, when our FMC literally bumps into him, being alone becomes a lot harder. Rose is a si glue mom who recently has left her husband due to his lack of interaction with their son Kyle. Kyle has cochlear aplasia and uses ASL communicate.

When things don’t really work out with her parents she decides to temporarily move into Chase’s cottage. This decision leads all of their lives to change in ways they couldn’t imagine. I love how Chase is sweet, caring, and protective of Kyle and Rose. They are the only ones he’s not grumpy with and they show him what opening up can lead to. In return he offers them both comfort during the hard times they are going through and their interactions are sweet.

Holy emotions!!!!!

Make Me Trust Again is book #3 in the Bluebonnet Creek series and the emotional toll this book put on me….I wasn’t ready. I went through it!

Dare I say this is my favorite book of the series? This book is so beautifully heartbreaking. Anna broke my heart with this book but slowly put it back together throughout the story. These two characters both have their own stuff going on and dealing with. We have Rose is dealing with the end of her marriage while raising her son who has his own struggles. Then we have Chase who has his own demons he’s fighting. These two shouldn’t have had the hold on my heart like they did. I’m not kidding when I say this book is emotional. But Anna wrote this story beautiful.

I wasn’t ready not expecting to is story to be as perfect as it is. It really did have a grip on me. I could not put it down. I fell in love with these characters and how amazing they were written.

This story was such a heartwarming and emotional read. I’m so grateful I got the chance to be part of the ARC team.

Rose is such a strong and resilient FMC. Most of all, she’s a wonderful mom. Her bond with her son, Kyle, was one of my favorite parts of the book—he’s the sweetest kid, and watching his character grow throughout the story was so special.

Chase… well, he’s grumpy, very grumpy (and I loved it 😅). But with Rose and Kyle, we see his true colors—sweet, protective, and deeply caring. Both he and Rose were broken in their own ways, but together they found healing, love, and a new chance at happiness.

The ASL representation was also a beautiful and meaningful detail that made the story even more impactful.

Thank you Anna B. Doe and Nadine & Celine for this ARC—it was such a joy to read!

I absolutely loved this book. The characters had so much depth, and I really appreciated that it took time for them to open up to each other, it made it feel real. The way ASL was written on the page was so unique and helps the reader understand how everyone communicated.
Chase’s backstory was raw and felt so real. I loved that there wasn’t some instant fix to his past and that healing was actually shown as work, including getting professional help. He was willing to push through his demons and insecurities to show up for Rose and Kyle.
Rose and Kyle were so beautifully written. Their bond as a single mom and her child was well written and I loved watching them both open up and learn to trust Chase even after all the hurt they experienced from a man who was supposed to love them. Such a great read!

Make Me Trust Again is an emotional and heartfelt story that swept me off my feet from the very first page. I absolutely loved being back in Bluebonnet Creek. Anna delivers a beautifully written story of healing, second chances, and the power of love.
I absolutely adored Rose, Chase, and Kyle. Each of them brought such vulnerability to the story, making it impossible not to root for their happiness. Rose’s journey especially, her strength left a lasting impression. And the dogs, absolutely unforgettable.
This book made me laugh, cry, and feel uncontrollable anger. A truly touching read that stays with you long after the final page.

I loved this book so much!!!!!
Chase doesn’t like to be around people after he as come back home from the military. Gives off major grumpy vibes but he only warms up to Rose and her son Kyle.
Rose is getting a divorce from her horrible husband and trying to give her and her son a better life.
I love how Chase took the time to be there for Kyle when he didn’t have to and they created a friendship that was so beautiful. I loved the tension between Chase and Rose and how they couldn’t stay away from each other (with the help of Chase’s dog Shadow).
This is probably my favorite book so far in this series!
