The Gold Rush Ranch series by Elsie Silver completely pulled me in — I binged all four books in just two days, only to realize there’s a fifth (Out of the Gate) recently added! Like Silver’s other series, this one features a small-town setting, a tight-knit group of interconnected characters, and of course, heartfelt romances as each person finds love. But this time, the backdrop of horse racing gives it a unique and exciting twist.

These books are such easy, engaging reads with characters you can’t help but fall for. Each one brings something special to the story, and they all shine in their own way. My favorite, though, was A False Start. Sometimes we connect deeply to a book or character for reasons that surprise us — for me, it was Griffin’s stutter. As someone who stuttered as a child, I immediately felt his emotions and struggles. Elsie Silver portrayed his challenges and vulnerability with such authenticity and compassion, and I appreciated that immensely.

Now I’m off to read book 1.5 in the series, and I have no doubt it’ll be just as wonderful — Elsie Silver never disappoints!

These books were so well written, my personal favourite was a false start and the way Elsie potrayed the characters. All characters were well developed, i especially loved Mira and Stefan's story line and †he whole 'forbidden romance'. I also really enjoyed how in two of the books it took time for the mmc and fmc to actually like eachother (previous meetings) and how us as the reader got some perspective of their lives before they met. Elsie Silvers books are always are amazing and there isn't a singe bad book she has written.
