Get the grand fanale! A pulse-pounding adventure guaranteed!
This book kinda sorta surprised the heck outta me. After getting the forth Deck of Cards in hand, you'd think that the forth book would be rote, and more of the same old, same old. But leave it to Lars Machműller to jump-start the book with some surprises of his own. And turning this into a proper no-holds-barred grand fanale! As Chase and his intrepid team of thieves scope out the best case scenario, sifting through bureaucracy and terrain, in hopes that the Heist would go off without a hitch and allow them to make a clean getaway! That was the plan anyway. There's nothin like a Heist when it comes to getting the pulse-pounding tension, I love soooooooo much. Even while just doin a test run because that can't be dangerous?!? Right? Right!!! Maybe plan B?!? So yeah snatch up this book quick to find out how everything works out...
Only a few areas that disappointed me, I really loved chase reviewing all his potential card choices, when that stopped happening I felt more distanced from him! It felt off when things happened differently concerning the defeat of an original deck holder. Other than that a grand series
Well thought out magic system and character development. Wild group of people on a barely possible quest. I loved the action, just the right amount of romance, and all around great story telling.
This is a fantastic series and one of my all time favorites especially with regards to “Cards”. Rather than one MC we have a group of underdogs trying to find and make a joke for themselves. This fourth book concludes the series and I give kudos to the author to wrapping up this wonderful story and do wish that we may return to Chase and his group of friends one day.
Absolutely wonderful series with superb world building and amazing characters. This one, the final book, brought a very satisfying conclusion. Not everything was as I had expected and hoped for yet I am still very happy with how it ended. I hope there will be more books set in this world.
The gang is back for one final heist and this addition doesn’t disappoint. Plot threads and character arcs reach satisfying conclusions as the curtains close on this entertaining story.
