This one was okay! I like the setup of the fairy arc and liked seeing more of saint germaine’s plots but ultimately not a lot went on this volume

I appreciate the new dynamic the new student and the nurse brings. I look forward to seeing them more in the future. I wasn't vibing the most with this volume. Def a mildly point as the story goes along to getting Momo un-shrunk and stuff. I wish there was more to it but I also appreciate that the new student was handled quickly, and her issue is mildly relatable. Being good a one point in your life but stumbling because of various factors. I do really look forward to seeing more of that nurse. Finally another adult character that it is okay to appreciate the sexuality of their outfits 👀

Volume 20 leaves the gang in a bit of a pinch. Turbo Granny has taken her leave and Momo is tiny. Seika however insists that Momo continue to go to school regardless. While there the gang is assaulted by another student controlled by pygmies who wants to stab Momo. The series is just more and more insane. Hopefully the author can keep it up. Because if he keeps just adding characters like this it’s going to go on forever. For right now that’s ok with me.

It was good in general but nothing extraordinary. Last time Okarun lost his powers and Momo survived the Cursed Trunk but stayed small. We also learned more about Count Saint Germain's motives and powers I guess. Since this is the volume right after a big arc not a lot happens, it is more of an introduction. So I'm hoping the next one will be a bit better.

Un nuevo villano acecha.

Ahora luego de que Okarun recupero sus bolas ya parecía que ahí terminó todo, pero se presenta el profesor que quiere robarles los poderes, este parece ser un enemigo sumamente peligroso y tiene conocimiento sobre el Dandadan, espero la historia avance al ritmo que lleva.

Entiendo que Dandadan pueda resultar demasiado excéntrico si no se tiene un cierto grado de familiaridad con el anime y que pueda incluso provocar reacciones próximas al cringe. No obstante, me encanta la energía genuinamente juvenil que desprende a todos los niveles, desde lo exagerado de las peleas hasta la forma de ser tan intensa de los personajes; me parece increíble que en un shonen existan personajes como Momo.

En esa misma línea, valoro mucho que Dandadan no participe en exceso del esencialismo de género habitual en otros mangas del mismo estilo. No quiero decir, ni mucho menos, que esté exenta de actitudes conservadoras; pero que uno de los ejes de la serie sea la violencia misógina que sufren sus protagonistas y que los personajes masculinos tengan la personalidad que tengan me parece cuanto menos reseñable. He visto mucho discusión en tuiter acerca de cómo están animadas ciertas escenas del anime que me parece por lo general bastante reduccionista.

Y bueno, me gusta muchísimo la relación entre Okarun y Momo y la turbovieja puede ser el personaje más carismático de la historia.

The feat Dandadan has achieved is rather impressive. Although it thematically follows the same shōnen Bildungsroman framework, beneath the surface, it provides a complete package of romance, camaraderie, humour, thrill, action, adventure, supernaturalism, the occult, myths, folklore, surreality, bizarreness, melodrama, and tragedy. It is a flawless representation of all the elements that define the larger manga and anime landscape. This is further elevated by its tightly paced plot and mesmerising art, perhaps the best I have seen in a shōnen manga since Yusuke Murata’s work in One Punch Man. It might not be an exaggeration to say that Dandadan has discovered and treaded a path that no previous shōnen manga has been able to. What Dragon Ball was to the 1980s, Slam Dunk to the 1990s, Naruto and One Piece to the 2000s, and Attack on Titan to the 2010s, Dandadan has the potential to become for the 2020s.

Having said that, there are certain aspects that appear quite disturbing to global readers. Additionally, Tatsu may be dragging the plot in a direction that may not be to my liking. Only time will tell whether it will pave a new path that inspires many generations of mangakas to come or fail in its pursuit.

read up to chapter 193

I’m so fucking hype for this fight on the plane you don’t understanddddddddddd

there are a few things that feel certain to happen rn:
1. one of the crew getting stabbed by one of the knife thingies
2. one of the crew dying (probably zuma 💔💔)
3. jiji and zuma realising they’re both soso cool and becoming bfs

super excited to see where this all goes because it really does feel like we’re leading up to something that’s been around 70 chapters in the making

This manga is wild. At least Okarun is still pretty badass despite his new problem. And Momo? Yeah, the little people still kick butt.

this is so fun i love mini momo! and the vibes are at such a high. jiji and vamola bringing the best sibling vibes. kinta being kinta (but in a good way) aira and okarun teaming up. AND OUR NEW GIRL!!! i love her so much and ofc with dandadan comes new and sad backstories. AND AMEN TO HAVE THE HOT NURSE BACK!!!! and saint germain FUCKING SCARES ME AHAHA

Damn, caught up to it... The manga series has been fun so far, looking forward to getting back to it in a couple of weeks.
It is getting a bit more complex, and less awe-inducing as it goes on, which I understand, but still think it would be nice to see occasional ass-kicking or them just hanging out without it being a life or death situation anymore :')
