Tilly Firefly Nguyen spent her life perfecting the art of smiling through the pain, bending to the comfort of others while her own needs were buried deep within. A marriage that shattered her spirit and a life that never felt quite like her own led her to Salem, Massachusetts, where fate—disguised as a mysterious invitation—pulled her toward the Crescent Inn and the annual Blueberry Festival.
Years later, Tilly is finally rediscovering herself among a new coven of friends, embracing a life where she can simply be. But just as she's finding peace amongst hot flashes and the tantalizing looks a certain stoic police chief with his own biting secret gives her, a new darkness sweeps into Salem.
A trio of powerful witches arrives with odd magic and a dark agenda. The Lost Souls Coven finds itself thrust into the heart of a brewing war between magic and malevolence, and this time, the stakes are higher than ever. Between strange occurrences, whispers of a witch hunt, and a political battle of dark magic, Tilly’s newfound ability to feel the emotions of others while the whisper of her old friend anxiety tests her like never before.
Anxiety, hot flashes, dark magic, and fangs... oh my. Will The Lost Souls Coven survive an ancient battle of dark magic? And will Tilly keep hold of herself amongst old ghosts, darkness and a burgeoning magic of her own?
Welcome to Salem—where nothing is as it seems, and even the magic has secrets.
Book 3 in the Lost Souls series is all about Tilly....and the mysterious police chief Landry. I LOVED this book and lets be honest I loved the whole series. These books are magical, beautiful, cozy, full of healing and all with a beautiful group of women coming together. Their lives aren’t perfect, they aren’t perfect either but it shows the chaos, messy real life with a bit of magic mixed in. I laughed, I cried, I mentally yelled at some of the characters haha. I loved how Tilly really came into her own in this book. She is fierce and stubborn, kind and compassionate. And the tension between Chief Landry and her is perfection. The love the realism mixed with witchy magic. If you love older FMCs over 35 (which is totally not that old guys....), magic, healing and mystery, read this book as well as the whole series!
Sigh... where to begin. I love what LeAnna Ehrsam is doing with her writing. I think there is a huge audience of middle-aged women who are rediscovering themselves and forming new, healthy friendships. However, this book felt a little lost.
I loved Tilly as a character and thought her story was a great exploration of self-discovery and processing an anxiety disorder/abusive family, but her love interest was gross. I never found myself interested or caring about Theo and their chemistry - if they even had any, maybe others will feel they did. It just seemed like their relationship was them running into each other at night and having half-conversations where they don't actually address anything. Her big fuck you moment where she stands up for herself (which I thought was overly written and cringy) is ruined by
What a beautiful conclusion to the Lost Soul Coven. Once again, reading these books feels like trauma dumping with your best friends over tea in the best way possible. I will forever scream from the rooftops that people need to read this series. I’m really looking forward to reading anything and everything LeAnna Ehrsam writes.
"I'm a little freaked out," Tilly whispered... "Good. What an excellent place to learn about yourself."
"That was the thing about allowing others' voices to leave an impression inside of your mind; it started as theirs and then the more it was allowed ground it morphed into a more familiar voice, one it was hard to demand it leave as it was your own."
"This was about women. This was about taking back the power that a group of people decided they shouldn't have, merely because they didn't understand it, didn't have it themselves. Maybe some even feared it."
This was my favorite book in the series and a perfect conclusion for the Lost Souls! I think it beautifully showcased the growth of the characters, relationships, and community with many full circle moments and lots of magic, as well as deeper magical history. I loved getting Tilly's story (and a subplot for Bess as well). It handled both Tilly's challenges and growth with anxiety so well, how it's possible to be healed and strong but still struggle, and have grace with yourself in the struggles without losing the growth. There were so many fantastic "enough!" moments of her taking her power back. And of course the overarching themes of found family and female friendship were as strong as ever!
This was also my favorite romance of the three, with a certain stoic police chief who has his own (paranormal) secret. I loved that Theo Landry did not have a curse to overcome in order to love. This was a man in intentional pursuit and communicated it clearly, but with major respect for boundaries, consent, and seeing his woman empowered. His and Tilly's chemistry and dynamic was insane and held me captive from beginning to end. I loved their story!
Read if you love: ✨ Magical realism ✨ Found family ✨ Perimenopausal women taking their power back ✨ Female friendships ✨ Witches and vampires ✨ Quirky characters and banter ✨ Swoony romance
"The perfect balance is food worth moaning over, movement to keep us strong, and as many orgasms as you want."
This book was exactly what I was hoping for. The reading flowed just as it did in the first two books and I enjoyed both the conflict and the romance. If you enjoyed either of the first two books in this series then this one will also be very satisfying.
“…swear she's going to run herself ragged if she's not careful." "Said every woman about their women friends in the history of the world,"
"A coming of rage party,"
There were so many excellent points and quotes in this book it’s had not to share them all!
“…ready to tell them she didn't want to intrude because that's what women learned without recognizing it at a young age, how to uninvite themselves from spaces they're afraid they're not good enough for. Or too much for.”
Also I would like someone to invite me to do this too …
"I say we have a cozy movie and cookie night tonight." "I could use a cozy movie cookie night."
"Sometimes we need people to bring a lamp to our darkness; not to fix us, but to sit with us and create light while we heal."
I am letting Ehrsam’s writing take over this review because it literally speaks for itself! If even one of these quotes resonates with you, there is a whole book of it! And I really enjoyed it all.
“Throughout time women were always one group of powerful people's decision away from losing their rights.”
This book was a total love–hate relationship. I absolutely loved it, but I hated that it closes the chapter on The Lost Souls Series.
Once again, readers are swept into a world of magical realism, where the only things more potent than the drinks and hexes are the bonds between the women of the Lost Souls Coven. The plot in this one really ups the ante on both the magic and the drama. You’ll be on the edge of your seat for one reason or another.
While this story focuses on Tilly, the entire coven shines once again. The alternating POV from Bess adds emotional depth, and we finally get the answers we’ve been craving about Crystal’s past. Tilly herself is such a layered character – I found myself constantly switching between empathizing with her and completely relating to her.
And honestly, a chief of police who looks like a young Tom Selleck and happens to be a vampire… do I really need to say more?
The Moon Drinks Mojitos is the perfect ending to this enchanting series. Finishing it feels like the bittersweet end of a long, cozy visit with dear friends. Reading The Lost Souls Series has always felt like those lazy afternoons spent on the couch with your closest people, you’re comfortable, supported, and never in a hurry to leave.
This whole series is about women in their late thirties realising their power (and hexing the patriarchy 😉) and I have loved it so much.
This book focuses on Tilly, a woman who's been weighed down by anxiety for too long and finds a boldness in herself as she comes into witchy powers.
A lot of this landed so close to my own experience of anxiety, I couldn't help but be in awe of Tilly (for overcoming the big, scary things) and be in agreement that the people who you choose to surround yourself with should enrich your life - anything less is a disservice to what you deserve. The author did an amazing job with this book, I just loved it all!
I love the language used in this book: how the author describes anxiety, how she uses it to describe the simplest of things (sunrises!) and how she pulled the whole Lost Souls journey together. Honestly, just utter joy!
I felt so lucky to have been able to read this as an ARC and will be adding the book to the other on my bookshelf when it's available.
✨RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✨SPICE: 🌶️ ✨Published 10/28/25 - AVAILABLE NOW!!
✨REVIEW: This is the 3rd book in the Lost Souls trilogy, and I loved it just as much as the first two. I enjoy when each book of a series switches main characters while continuing the development of the main characters from the previous books. My absolute favorite part is the solid, healthy female friendships of these adult women. There are romances that develop with the men they meet (in this book he’s also a vampire!), but the romantic relationships are secondary to the friendships between the women, who really see and support each other- even after disagreements and bad decisions.
Each FMC is drawn to Salem by magic at just the right moment when she needs a fresh start. The magical Lost Souls house and grounds play an important part in helping them to find their footing. Tilly Nguyen, the FMC of The Moon Drinks Mojitos also becomes the new owner of The Blueberry House (aka The Crescent Inn) after her life in Salem suffers a series of unfortunate events. Meanwhile, dark magic creates chaos in Salem and there are rumors of a witch hunt targeting Tilly and her friends.
This third book had magic, mystery, romance, and cozy fall vibes- not to mention a fabulous group of girlfriends that I wish I could join for margaritas, mojitos, or some of Tilly’s famous honey wine.
Perfect read for October and recommend this whole series!
✨I was thrilled to receive an Advanced Reader Copy of this book, but all opinions are my own.
Have you ever needed to be reminded that you are enough? Have you ever walked away from a situation and wished you'd said something different or worried you weren't liked? Have you ever met a group of friends who helped you heal from old wounds you didn't even realize you were still carrying around? Did they pick you up, dust you off and send you on your way to show the world you're amazing?
Welcome to the writing of LeAnna Ehrsam. This was such a a delicious read that I wanted to linger in the pages for an entire season. She weaves the story of healing, finding romance and accepting it, sisterhood and humor with such a lovely pace that I sighed at the last sentence.
This is a lovely conclusion you don't want to skip.
In this book, it was Tilly’s turn to be front and center as she dealt with her past, spent time with her coven, and made decisions about allowing romance into her life.
The middle age characters, magical house, tight bonds among friends, and quirky animals make the story enchanting.
In this last book of the series, good faces evil, and a relationshipship arises between two creatures of the night.
The food this coven whips up for their gatherings made my mouth water. I wish I had this in my life; a tight knit group of women who get together often to chat and eat.
💕Thank you Leanna Ehrsam for providing me this ebook to read and review.
4.5 stars. I just love LeAnna’s descriptions and characters. She describes food in a way that you can basically taste it. And people/places in such a tangible way. The self reflection the characters always go through is always so identifiable. Not to mention having older main characters is so so needed in the literary world! I love how you get glimpses into what so many of the characters are thinking. Very different than the typical single (or dual) POV books I read. The downfall to the switching POV is that sometimes who’s thinking or speaking got a little confusing which is the only reason the story wasn’t 5 stars for me.
I liked this book, but I didn't love it like the first 2. While the first 2 had a clear storyline and mostly focused on one main character - book 3 felt chaotic and like too many stories were pushed into one book. I feel like this could have been 2 books at least and I don't like how the author ended it. To me it's a soft cliff hanger - but with no next book in sight feels like the story is left undone.
Still a fun read - just a bit of a let down after the first 2.
I adore her books and this series as a whole but book #3 felt extra special because it brought everything together. All the charm and with of the first two books but building upon the strong characters laid out and sprinkling in a few new ones. So much fun to read, would be an amazing book club pick or even just a buddy read.
I highly recommend reading The Lost Soul Series. Such a fun series , I Arc read The moon drinks mojitos, and it did not disappoint! I enjoy each character and their unique characteristics. This book Tilly Nguyen, an empath; rediscovering herself among her coven of friends. She has caught the eye the town police chief, which has his own biting secret. Dark magic enters the town and the Lost Souls Coven is meshed up in the middle of a magical war. Thank you Leanna Ehrsam ✨ for this magical eARC. If you enjoy…..an older FMC, magical realism, witches, female empowerment , hexed men , banter and so many more elements !! Then this series is for you.
Stop everything you're doing and read this series. It was such a joy to read such amazing words on these pages. I laughed I cried I felt the anger and power of a woman scorned. I felt the love and goosebumps given from such a strong group of women. What a pleasure to read their stories
In this third installment of the Lost Souls series, it was wonderful to see everyone work together for the greater good. New characters were introduced and I hope to see more of them. Wrapping up some storylines would have been nice but maybe there will be more to come.
I read the trilogy in 6 weeks couldn't stop reading, falling in love with all of the characters and imagery. The only downside was a fair bit of grammatical errors tripping up the reading and comprehension in some areas, but I persisted as the storyline in all 3 books are wonderful. The women in perimenopause was lightly touched on to add a layer, humanity of being a woman to a storyline.
I really liked the series. The books were entertaining but easy reads. By the third book I did get tired of the storyline of the gorgeous man who falls in love with a woman who is just naturally beautiful and doesn't know it. But I did like the message that woman tend to bend their lives for men and that they deserve happiness too. And how fulfilling womens' friendships can be.
Read my book review of Leanna Ehrsam’s The Moon Drinks Mojitos, book three in the Lost Souls series. This is a fantasy romance, with a magical house and magical inn with a grandmother clock.
I found this author on tik tok and so glad I did. I very much enjoyed all 3 books in the series -especially the women helping and supporting each other parts.
Emotional rollercoaster familiar to many women. The good, the bad and the ugly of being perimenopausal. New man, new friends and maybe a new life. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed this series. It's so nice to read about women's friendships and the real magic that experience is and I love the way food and animals are ever present and play such an important role in her stories.
4.25 Stars The Moon Drinks Mojitos by LeAnna Ehrsam
Returning to Salem and The Lost Souls Coven, The Moon Drinks Mojitos is another hit that is so much more than what you would expect! Yes, this is a perfect witchy read for fall that will have you wondering what connections exist with the universe, but this story will have you feeling all the feels. Ehrsam does it again by writing characters that you deeply connect with. Tilly has spent her entire life limiting her emotions and never being enough for her parents, then her (ex) husband, and continues to feel like not enough for herself. As she learns to embrace her authentic self, including her emotions, she is left having to start all over…again. Thankfully, this time Tilly has a solid group of women to hold her up and be the strength she needs until she can find it within herself. Fierce friendship, found family, and self discovery are intertwined with small town, witchy drama that will leave you wishing you were part of The Lost Souls Coven. Oh, and don’t forget the sexy sherif, dating drama, and more houses that have a funny way of intervening in daily life!
This was a great wrap up for this series. At least I think it is. The epilogue makes it feel like there may be one more story, but we’ll see. This is another good example of how women need to remember that their voice is just as important as everyone else’s and that no one should ever shut down your voice. I love the magical realism, I love that there’s a vampire, I love that women need to stand together and support each other for truly miraculous things to happen even when the town turns against them. I was so grateful to be able to read this. I enjoyed it. I liked the romance story there is one open door scene in this book (that I skipped) and it is chapter 27. It’s about the first 2/3’s of the chapter.
