Essence Soleil would rather be known for her potions than her powerful family name. Running her witchery in AuraVeil keeps her (mostly) out of trouble—if you don’t count clumsy accidents and clients demanding questionable “enhancements.”
Elias Slate has spent years locking away his emotions and his past. Cursed by a love he once trusted, every flicker of feeling threatens to unleash magic he can’t fully control.
When a love potion goes wrong, Essence and Elias find themselves unwillingly tethered. What begins as a forced partnership quickly spirals into a perilous race against time to undo the bond before the vampire princess’s patience runs out.
But the longer their souls hum in tandem, the harder it is to deny that fate may have had other plans all along…
I think my eyes are sweating a little bit. Rielle this manuscript turned out soooooo good. Thank you for Elias aka my grumpy pants, Essence, and Honor. I would like to say on behalf of everybody Viviana...well anyway. Ri, you did your big one with this my girl. I'm ready for another one!
Oh Rielle, you've got me thinking long and hard about this one. One one hand I had a great time and enjoyed seeing the way you weaved this story all from a little love potion. I knew it was game over when Elias started heating up the room like a furnace when Verek came around. Watching them work to break a bond that couldn't be broken was entertaining, especially when they were destined long before meeting.
However there is one major issue that I cannot see behind is Elias's tendency to omit details. It bothered me for over 100 pages that not a single question was asked about why he withheld information about Honor and what happened between him and Somayah. Yes I as the reader know but Essence was clueless about it all and never once questioned him. How is that possible? Elias felt entitled to her thoughts, feelings and secrets but the moment she asked a question he told her that was his burden and not to worry. Excuse me!?!? The audacity of you talking about trust but giving absolutely none.
Yet, I still loved the way he loved on her. Arghhh how can I rate this?
This was such a fun read! The magic literally jumps of the page and the world building is on point. Elias is a grumpy and Essence is a quirky witch but uncovers two souls who are a perfect match.
I enjoyed this magical romance with Essense & Elias. I typically struggle with 400+ page books, but this one kept my attention. I love how everything came together in the end.
I will say, the book has a lot of grammatical errors, but that's my only gripe.
