When my father died, my racing dream died too. But now Forward Racing—the team he first rode for—wants me. There’s just one problem. Forward Racing belongs to Russell Demeri. The man who replaced my dad. The man whose daughter I can’t stop wanting. Kaia isn’t supposed to be mine. She’s off-limits. Yet every stolen look, every secret moment, makes me forget the rules. Makes me forget her father. Makes me forget everything except for her. I know I’m heading for a crash. But it’s too late to stop.
Kaia
I’m the daughter who’s never been enough. Trapped beneath my father’s roof, I’ve spent my whole life trying to please him. Study. Listen. Obey. Until Asher comes back. He was the boy who saw me when no one else did. Now he’s my dad’s new racer—and the man who tempts me to risk everything. He’s rebellious. Reckless. But with me, he’s tender. Protective. Mine. And I’d rather lose it all than lose him.
Alwyn is a romance author who enjoys crafting heartfelt and angsty romance books with spice, yearning, and green flag heroes.
When she isn’t writing, working, or spending time with her family, she’s probably taking a walk by the beach while dreaming up the plot of her next novel.
This follows Kaia and Asher, who are both grieving the loss of a parent and struggling with how quickly the remaining parent has moved on. Feeling disregarded and alone, Kaia has no choice but to live under her father’s strict rules. But when Asher who is her father’s girlfriend’s son returns to the States to drive for a MotoGP team, he’s the one person who understands exactly what she’s going through. The difference now? She’s a beautiful young woman that’s off limits.
Wow, I’m impressed! I devoured this debut novel. I’m all for an angsty, slow-burn journey, and this delivered. I’m in love with Kaia and Asher’s story they honestly deserve the world.
Starting with Kaia, who dreams of attending the college her mother once did, she faces so many challenges with her father. My heart hurt for her. She deserves so much better. Then Asher comes along. I adore Asher. The little things he does to make her feel special, the tenderness, the sneaking around and the quiet ways he loves her.
I also loved getting to move between Spain and the States it made the story feel even more special. And Asher’s grandma she was such a joy.
The twist at the end caught me off guard, but deep down I had a feeling about what the results would be. The emotions this book brought out in me were brilliant for a debut. It hit everything I love to read.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This book is very well written. Very good structured, the flow of the story is great and it has a perfect balance between conversation, scene description and inner-monologue. You could really feel the chemistry between Kaia and Asher and the slow was really burning. That f*ck it moment was awesome. I loved the interaction between the two. Ash is such a green flag, got me actually swooning 🫠 However, the moment they exchanged ‘I love you’ was too early. I preferred if it was later so it left more room for development and growth.
What I didn’t like was that Mandy was Kaia’s only friend in HS. I don’t think one can even call it that, I have no idea how they were friends for twelve years. But she needed someone good in her corner and she had literally no one. At least she pulled the plug on that toxicity.
What I also didn't like was that she was a virgin while he was experienced. I've read too many books with the virgin trope and it just irks me every time. Especially when the guy says it has always been you even when he thought he couldn’t have her (while he has been dating and with other girls). Even more so since their age difference wasn't that big, they could've easily been eachother's firsts (but since he was in another country, there was no reason for him to wait for her). And then, Kaia was not even behaving as a virgin, but rather horney and couldn't wait to jump his bones. Didn’t make much sense.
Her dad was so awful, I honestly thought she was adopted. Because all the advice her mother gave her made no sense if she was with him for 15 years and miserable as hell. Obviously, she didn’t experience the advice she gave herself. And the ending, the dad and the mother, actually almost ruined this book for me, it had me actually disgusted. The mother was just as awful. I really wanted someone to take them down.
Ok apparently I am into motorbike racing now! I loved this book so much, it’s was captivating, memorable, addictive, sweet, romantic, heartbreaking, beautiful there’s not much else but all the positives you could think of.
I cannot wait for book two in this interconnected standalone series. I loved the amazing characters we meet. Asher is a motorbike racer who lost his dad in a racing accident and Kaia is a sweet ignored daughter who lost her mum to sickness both are struggling but they were everything each other needed, I was so invested in them and their story I struggled to put the book down to do other things.
It had - chemistry - sweet friends to lovers - found family - Spanish language / heritage - racing - secret relationships - trauma / healing and much more
If you like sports romance / star crossed lovers type of books then this is a perfect read for you! Add it to your TBR now This is an arc review given freely and absolutely willingly.
Law Maker is a heartfelt, slow-burning romance between a stepbrother and a second chance, set against the thrilling backdrop of motorcycle racing. Kaia and Asher met when they were teens; having just lost her mother three months before, she was devastated to learn that her father had moved on and that his new girlfriend and son were about to move in. Asher and Kaia form a connection as their bereaved parents start dating. Asher doesn't stay long before traveling to live with his grandmother in Spain because he is still dealing with the loss of his father. Years later, Asher has recently signed with a motorcycle racing team that has been acquired by Kaia's father. When Asher moves back in, he becomes aware of the horrible way their parents treat Kaia. I enjoyed watching both characters mature and cope with their own grief. Their love story was very well-written, with enough of spice and drama. I absolutely liked this book and I can't wait to read the next in the series!!
Wow this book hits all the feels! Add to your TBR right now!
What a beautiful story for Asher and Kaia, the ups and downs of this book had me gripped. Their love story was so beautifully written, enough spice and drama. I loved this book so much and cannot wait to read the next in this series while really waiting for Javi and Alba 🥰
Thank you for my ARC, I can’t wait to read more of your work.
5⭐️ 3🌶️
I could not put this down. I have read a lot of sports romances, and this felt new. I feel like Kaia and Asher’s story was realistic and so well written and everything wrapped up nicely.
Kaia and Asher first meet when they are 13 and 15, having only lost her mum 3 months prior she really struggled with the knowledge that her dads moved on and his new girlfriend and son are moving in. Asher is still struggling with the loss of his father and doesn’t stay long before moving to live in Spain with his Grandma.
Fast forward 5yrs and Asher has just signed with a motorbike racing team which is now being bought by Kaias father. Moving back in, Asher starts noticing just how badly Kaia is treated by their parents. I loved the way that even Platonically Asher and Kaia really start to support and connect with each other and support the other through their grief. Kaias dad is horrible and the relationship is so controlling and toxic and it was sometimes hard to get a read on Asher’s mum as she came across immature and just in her own world. Including not really caring for Asher or anyone, didn’t feel like she had any friends either 🤣
One thing I really loved about this book was there was multiple plot points and speedbumps our characters had to go through throughout this book. There wasn’t only the complication of their parents dating. I loved the growth of both characters in how they grew and dealt with their grief. Also the few plot twists had me jumping up and screaming and trying to read faster.
Some tropes/themes you can find are; -upcoming motorbike racer -she speaks/reads in his home language (Spanish) - struggling through loss of a parent -poor parental relationships -virgin FMC - he’s protective of her -boarding school -academic pressures
I'm in love with Asher Williams!!! He is everything..... he's perfection 🤌🏼
I have been waiting forever, and when I say forever......I mean like forr..eeev...err for the FULL Asher and Kaia story and I was not disappointed.
Alwyn Knighton did a phenomenal job with this book, like I don't even have words to describe it. Asher is the perfect dream and Kaia is the envy of every woman lol They are the perfect match and I wish there was more.
Law Maker is an emotional rollercoaster of a story. It especially hits you when you've lost a parent and you can feel all the pain and grief as you read along. You also feel all the hurt and anger, the love and friendship, the want and pride, the attraction and the spice!
We get to meet a bunch of other characters in Law Maker and I can't wait until we get to know more about them in upcoming books!!!
Thank you so much for letting me have this as an ARC! 3.5 stars from me. ⭐️
Okay, as a debut, wow! I’m super impressed and will be picking up any book written by this author again. I see you 2026 teaser 👀
I love a sports romance and this certainly was different to those that I’ve read. Part of me saw the amount of pages and did think “Christ this is gonna be a slog” but it actually was paced really well and I didn’t feel sluggish reading it at all.
Part 1: I do feel like the FMC acted like a 16 year old compared to an 18 year old and even some of the terminology and way she spoke was super young and juvenile. It was a bit cringe to read the spice during part 1 I personally found just due to how young they came across in that part.
Part 2: This was the better half of the book, the tension, the finality of it all and actually character growth between both the MMC and FMC. We love a man who grovels. I’d of much preferred this part to be longer, and to see more of the relationship between Alba and Kaia grow, including Kaia’s volunteering.
I have been anticipating Law Maker’s release since forever ago. Through Tide Changer, I got a snippet of Kaia and Asher.
Of both the characters, Kaia and Asher, I enjoyed Asher’s backstory a bit more. I am biased though because I love Formula 1. So, I am like 3% familiar with MotoGP. A story point I kept my eyes out for was the development of Asher suspecting there was more to his father's death. I, too, thought something more sinister happened (I am not discounting the actual reason. Which in itself was incredibly disgusting). I guess what I mean is through a teammate or the team. The plot twist at the end and Asher’s accident, I think, helped Asher come to terms with his father’s accident and death.
I am glad that Kaia had Asher to lean on for support because she really had no one. Kaia’s dad and Asher’s mom were the worst parents and just plain selfish. No wonder those two (the parents) like each other. Their moments of vulnerability were my favorites. Just seeing Kaia comfort Asher or vice versa. The faith these two had in Kaia’s dad not checking up on Kaia. I for sure thought they would get caught. I’m glad they didn’t because I could not imagine the repercussions. Asher was really the savior in Kaia’s life (but let’s not forget Alba too). The only thing I liked about Kaia going to Willowbrook School for Girls was meeting Alba.
Usually I disagree when the author makes one of the characters break up with the other for “the best”. However, in Law Maker I completely agree and support it. The reason being was that Kaia barely turned 18. She has been sheltered so much and wasn’t able to go out in the world and be herself. She needed some time to grow and learn to be independent. I completely agree with Asher that Kaia would’ve dropped everything and followed Asher wherever he went. Kaia had goals she wanted to achieve and she needed her time to accomplish that. The time apart (as much as it hurt) did them both good, especially Kaia. It was lovely to see a mature and confident version of herself. On a side note, I think it was adorable how Asher continuously sent books Kaia's way knowing it would comfort her during their separation. Overall, I loved how Kaia and Asher developed from young sweet love to something more grounded as both characters matured and grew into their own people.
Thank you so much for the ARC ❤️ and I’ll be looking out for Alba and Javi’s story 😉

I would just like to take a second to say how honoured I am to have been asked to ARC this one (all arcs actually) but yeah. Massive congratulations on your debut, which can I just say you would never know by reading that this is your first published book! So well and beautifully written!
Anyways let continue…
🖤 stepbrother 🖤 Green Flag Hero 🖤 Forbidden Romance 🖤 Open Door Spice 🖤 Angst And oh so much more!
Let me introduce pro motorcycle racer Asher Williams, he is protective, rebellious, sweet but not too sweet😏, speaks to us in Spanish and is just down right swoon-worthy!!
Let’s not forget our leading lady Kaia Demeri, she is sensitive, loves reading (girl same!), got the dance moves, fun and did I mention girl can talk to us in Spanish too!! (Not swooning or anything 😍)
Asher and Kaia, have both lost a parent they are hurting and scared of what the future will bring them. They are young when they first met, when their parents get together.. still both hurting and struggling to find their new normal, Asher is rebellious and wants to escape as fast as he can but that still can’t stop himself from noticing Kaia. The girl that far more mature than her age, determined to make her father proud while loving the boy she can’t ever have.
Fast forward a few years and Asher is back, still thinking about the girl he shouldn’t want. The chemistry between them is intense and all consuming. Even though he is determined to do the right thing and keep his distance from Kaia. He can’t ignore how she is treated by those closest to her and wants nothing more than to show her everything she deserves and more.
Kaia never stopped loving Asher and butterflies erupted as soon as she found out he was coming back. They aren’t the same young kids anymore, so much has changed and yet stayed the same.
I was totally hooked on these two from the start, their passion not only for each other but the things and people they love. Their chemistry and determination to beat all the odds against them. With this being a brand new release and a debut at that I don’t want to give too much away but I definitely recommend it!
“There’s only you, silly. There’s only ever been you since I moved here. I’m too busy missing you and loving you to look at anyone else.”
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I thought I knew where the book was going, but most of the time I was wrong. I didn’t know anything about the MMC’s occupation as it’s not a sport I knew about but the book gave enough information to understand the terms of the sport.
Asher and Kaia’s relationship was beautiful even the hard parts. I mean him turning up after 5 years after only knowing her a few weeks when they were just teens, on her 18th birthday with a gift that meant so much to her was just the sweetest. And the relationship just grew from there. They had some highs and lows that were written beautifully.
Im glad that they both got the help they needed in their time apart, that helped them flourish when they got back together.
Kaia’s friendship with Alba was the best thing that had happened to her (other than Asher, obvs), because Mandy was just selfish witch and only cared about herself and believing a guy over your best friend, I’m sure that breaks girl code on so many levels! Albas love and care and support that she gave to Kaia only makes me want to read her and Javi’s book, like last week!?!
I think the MC’s and the storyline was really good and the pacing was perfect.
“Look at the wall on the left.” She turned her head, catching on her reflections on the gold-framed mirror. “ you’re looking at the only person I have ever wanted,” I said. “You’re my first and only love. Do you really think I would pay attention to anyone else? I didn’t go on dates because I only wanted you. I still only want you.”
Asher is absolutely a swoon worthy male and I have a feeling a lot of people will have the same opinion.
I thought the next book was going to be Javi and Alba, but it’s Ale and Nova’s story and I am really looking forward to reading it. ❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 This is a gem for fans of forbidden romance and sports-themed books (motor racing). The dynamic between the reckless, protective MMC and the trapped, rebellious FMC is just 🤌🏻. Get ready for a story that proves the only rule worth following is the one written on your heart.
If you're looking for a book that goes zero to sixty-nine in pure romantic tension 'Law Maker' is the ride you've been waiting for. It's a perfect burst of tropes & microtropes🤭
Genre: -New Adult -Contemporary Romance
Main Trope: -Star-Crossed Lovers
Microtropes: -Forbidden Romance -Rival/Enemy Father -Rebellion -Grumpy Racer -Daddy Issues -Found Family & much more....
The story centers on Asher, whose tragic past has a direct effect on course with his future. He lands a spot on Forward Racing, which is awesome, except it’s owned by Russell Demeri—the man who replaced his late father. They are basically 'enemies'
But the real speed bump? Russell’s daughter, Kaia. She is the Forbidden girl. Asher knows she's "off-limits," but he's forgotten all the rules and is heading for a crash.
Kaia is the typical good girl trapped by her overbearing father. She’s spent her life in the "Study. Listen. Obey." zone until Asher rolls back into her life. He sees her, he tempts her, and suddenly, Kaia is ready to chuck her whole obedient existence for a taste of "rebellious, reckless" love.
"The stakes are super high: her freedom vs. losing her man."
Pacing & Style: Full Ignition! 🌚 Fast paced!! & A f*cking emotional rollercoaster. Asher and Kaia clearly have a history that reignites the moment they reconnect. No slow burn here; this is a quick ignition! But..... The Father—is an obstacle in their paths that wreck their happiness.
This slow-burning romance skillfully intertwines themes of loss, family complications, forbidden attraction and personal growth. Kaia and Asher find themselves thrust into an impossible situation when his mother relocates from Spain to live with Kaia's father in the USA, bringing their fractured families under one roof. Both protagonists are navigating profound grief—Kaia mourning her mother, Asher his father, a famous motorbike racing champion whose legacy he's determined to honour. The plot thickens when Asher signs with the racing team owned by Kaia's father, binding their lives together professionally as well as personally. What makes this story compelling is how both characters feel invisible to their parents, driving them toward each other for the understanding and support they desperately need. Living under the same roof only intensifies their attraction while forcing them to keep their feelings hidden. Readers will feel the main characters' heartbreak during a painful separation, made worse by a devastating motorbike accident that threatens Asher's future. These trials test the couple's bond to its limits before they finally find their way back to each other. Both Kaia and Asher emerge stronger, more self-aware, and ready to build a future together. The Spanish elements add authentic richness to the narrative, from language and cultural references to vivid Spanish settings. These details create an immersive backdrop without overwhelming the emotional core of the story. This story is highly recommended for readers who appreciate character-driven romances with genuine emotional depth, compelling character arcs and just the right amount of angst to keep you invested. This author consistently delivers well-paced stories with swoon-worthy moments, and this book stands among her finest works.
So all the plot/story constructions was really amazing and definitely a easy and enjoyable reading. It gives the vibe of some “plot twisting” without much drama to solve. And even tho I was expecting the cheating parents coming first it came last 😂
Asher was soooo damn sweet, we can feel how much he cares for Kaia just by reading, he cares, he’s thoughtful, and chooses her first always and all the way. But besides he love for her and he love for the sport he does I feel like I don’t know much about him. He always thinking about Kaia, and about how much she deserves a better dad, a better life. Or he thinking about wining to make his dad proud and make enough money to help kaia. So about himself we don’t get to know that much. Still I loved Asher through out the whole book.
Kaia, oh sweet Kaia. She lost her mother and got the worst dad ever. Even tho she looked stronger when it comes to grief, she was still grieving too. But somehow she took it harder, she had no support. That friend of hers was so damn annoying that I wanted to beat her a** up. And then Alba appears, full of love a real friendship to give. I felt soooo damn happy for when Kaia finally found a friend where she could be herself with. Kaia, was grieving, but still keep it strong. She lost her love and still kept it strong. Even tho she looked fragile she was really strong. And at the end of everything she was strong enough to take care of herself and gave her father the finger 🤭
I really enjoy this reading, was funny, easy, so damn cute with some sparkles of a good spice moments. So definitely not recommended for underage. But so much recommend for all the others 🤭💙
And now I want alba and javi book 😂

First of all I would like to thank Alwyn for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book.
This is Book One of the Star-Crossed Love Series.
Kaia & Asher's Story.
First of all, I could not put this book down; it had captivated me from the very start. Whilst there are no trigger or content warnings for this book, I would recommend having some tissues ready. As there is a heavy content of family drama with a the mention of past parental death (off paper) for both main characters Kaia and Asher, Kaia having an overbearing father, who shown no parental love towards her. And then theres Ashers mother whom I could only describe as a cold women. - This alone sets the scene, and made me generally feel for both Kaia and Asher.
Storyline: Asher an up-and-coming motorbike rider, following his late father's footsets and dreams signs with Forward Racing - the team that his Late father first rode for. However, this team is changing ownership and belongs to Russell Demeri, the man that his mother moved on with, and the father of Kaia.
Kaia, feels trapped under her father's roof, following the passing of her mother. Nothing she can do will please him.
Asher & Kaia's story is tender, he wants to protect and cherish her.
The only thing I disliked about the book is that I had to use Google/kindle translate so much. And when Im reading off grid I had to guess half the time. Whislt I love a little be of spanish whispering in the ear, its HOT as F*ck. I needed to translate a fair good chunk.
I loved and adored this story so much and Asher and Kaia will make you absolutely fall in love with them. This has everything you want, emotionally gripping angst, plenty of sweet and swoony moments and even though it is a slow burn the spice was amazing when it happens. Especially the last half. The forbidden part was great. Stepbrother vibes along with the race team owners daughter. A man who would ruin his future without so much as a pause.
This story opens up to learning how they meet. She was a 13 and he was 15. Both grieving the loss of a parent and being neglected of their feelings by the parent they were left with. Asher’s mom uprooting him months after his father d!es in a bike crash, from Spain where he is from to the states to move in with a man she moved on with and the man’s 13 yr old daughter who also lost her mother not that long before her father moved another woman into replace her mother. Time jump and their love story starts when she is 18 and he is 20.
You will absolutely feel angst for these two and crave for them to get their hea and that’s a part of what can make this such a binge read. You will absolutely feel many emotions reading their story. Anger towards the parents they were left with. Her father I swore at a number of times. He is an emotionally neglectful father and the journey Kaia takes to break free and be happy on her own terms was beautiful. Asher is complex in the man he wants to be and who he becomes. He strives to make his late father proud and angry at the world for taking his father away. He is a bike racer like his dad and the stress and pressure he puts on himself to be like the man he idolized can be a lot. But Kaia is the joy and peace he needed. The way Alwyn was able to show the grief aspect of losing a parent and have that be a part of how they connect but show that they were able to heal from it together and separately was fantastic. These two are soulmates.
If you love things like he being her first everything and him Falling so hard he his heart studders and he forgets to breath looking at her than this is a story for you.
Thank you Alwyn for allowing me to this ARC! I LOVVVEEDDD IITTT!! Kaia and Ash had me ignoring my kiddos (don’t worry, they were safe and still being taken care of haha) because I didn’t want to stop reading! Their love story was full of heartbreak. A lot of it actually. And each time their hearts were broken, they grew closer to each other. They truly are a team that supports and takes care of each other! Kaia’s background was… well if I could reach into the book and punch her dad multiple times I would but he’s a character written on a page and I can’t! She’s a strong character though and her journey brought her loss but also true love and friendship from multiple people and I like how the author really just gave her what she deserved! Ash… ugh Asher freaking Williams! The amount of times I pictured him saying “peque” wasn’t enough! 🤣 And the way the author put in italics the translations was so much easier. I did however find myself looking up the pronunciations and listening to them to make it easier. Ash just seems like a hot, Spanish speaking heartthrob! His story was really sad and the author did such a great job with portraying his emotions that I could feel it in my bones! I’m so happy for where he ended up! I give this one 5 ⭐️’s! I couldn’t put it down!
Can’t wait to see if there’s a story about Alba and Javi! 😘
What to expect: sports romance, dual POV, secret relationship, grief & healing, found family, angst, motor-racing, secrets, imperfect timing
Holy smokes…Law Maker is a must-read. This book grabbed me from page one and never let go. At its core, this is a sports romance set in the world of motor racing (which is something I knew almost nothing about going in). The racing details, schedules, and team dynamics were fascinating and really entertaining.
The main characters are Kaia & Asher and they were so beautifully written that they felt like real people. The care that was put into writing their growth, healing, and relationship is exceptional. Kaia and Asher’s chemistry, banter, and slow-building tension kept me glued to the story. The themes of grief, complicated family dynamics, and imperfect timing were displayed well and certainly had me in tears at points. Even during the tough times, Kaia and Asher are both surrounded by supportive people who make up the best found family.
I genuinely can’t recommend Law Maker enough, and I’m already counting down the days until Alwyn Knighton’s next release. The pacing was excellent and it has quickly become one of my favorite reads of 2025. ❤️
I was truly lucky to be an ARC reader for Alwyn Knighton’s romance LAW MAKER, and this story grabbed me straight by the heart. Ash… what a man. He’s the kind of guy you don’t just read about — you feel him. Strong, magnetic, impossible not to fall for. I swear, I’m still hoping someone like him exists outside of fiction. The racing scenes made my chest tighten in the best way. Every time he got on that bike, it felt like the world blurred around you and you were right there, riding beside him. The author’s descriptions are so vivid, they sink into you. And Kaia… she’s such a gentle soul. Fragile in some ways, but with a heart that loves so fiercely it almost hurts to witness. Her love for Ash is raw and tender and so beautifully written. Their journey isn’t easy. There are moments that lift you up and moments that crush you a little — but that’s what made their story feel so real. And their parents… I felt so much anger, I had to put the book down a couple times just to breathe. They broke my heart in all the wrong ways.
Alwyn Knighton created something powerful here. A story that stays with you. I can only recommend it with all my heart.
One thing about Alwyn Knighton, she knows how to write swoon-worthy green flag heroes—and angst—and once more, she didn't disappoint. ✨
Asher is definitely a dream guy; he cooks, dances, gifts books, and cares for his Peque (Kaia) like no one else does. 😍 Indeed, these two are two broken and lonely souls who find each other through circumstances they didn't wish: the love story of their parents.
But more than a forbidden romance (and of course, all the yearning, slow burn, and secret encounters we love in that trope 😍), it's also a story about growth and healing. TW for grief and *sshole parents, but I loved how the author handled these difficult themes smoothly to bring us just the perfect amount of tears and bring our sweet couple even closer.
This love story is definitely a wild ride of emotions, but don't worry, we reach the finish line with a happy ending and tons of cute, swoon-worthy moments! 😉 A feel good read I totally recommend!
PS: Bonus point, it's a sport romance with motorbike racing. Something still rare in this trope, and as someone who grew up watching moto GP, I loved how the racing (described really accurately) weaved through the story.
After life got in the way, I finally managed to finish Law Maker and oh my gosh... it was simply amazing. I am obsessed with the way the book was written. I am obsessed with the characters, I am obsessed with the storyline. The chaos. The intimate scenes were amazingly done, I can't get over the intense parts of the book that had me like;
"No, it can't be..." and "No, surely not" and "No, no, don't let it be that way, it would suck so much" but the writing had my heart racing. The flirtation had ME blushing... I blushed a few times from what was said. Asher is literally one of my favourite characters in a very long time.
Kaia, I felt for her so many fucking times that I wished for things to move along so she didn't need to feel the way she did...
The parents in this story (bar the good ones) god, I wanted to scream at them so badly... it hurt me how it all went down. Life may be life, but that isn't anyway to do it. Parenting isn't that fucking hard...
And the one thing to learn about anything in life, is lying hurts no matter the consequences.
Arc Review First off I would like to thank Alywn for the opportunity to read and review this gifted e-arc
Kaia & Asher Oh. My. God! Y'all this book absolutely destroyed me in the best way! I could feel the tension and angst through the pages and just wanted to hug them both so tight. I loved them both so much and couldn't get enough of them. I loved how strong and resilient they both are. I loved how they fought for what they wanted and no matter what life throw at them, they worked to over come it. I loved their growth and vulnerable with each other and themselves, I also loved the connection and kinship they have.
5/5 recommend this book. Y'all for this to be Alywn debut novel it was beautiful done, well written and well paced. I love how she builds the characters and the world around them and they way she pulls at your heartstrings and makes you feel all the emotions while also showing you why they matter and help them grow. Absolutely can't wait to see what she does next!

This was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! I absolutely loved Asher and Kaia’s love story! 🩷
The story follows Kaia, who’s still grieving the loss of her mother while dealing with a demanding father, and Asher, who’s grieving his own father and trying to make him proud by following in his footsteps as a racer. They’re in a way step siblings, but since they didn’t grow up together, it never felt uncomfortable or forced.
From their very first interaction, I knew Asher was going to be the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s thoughtful, caring, and constantly puts Kaia first. The way they both understand loss and find comfort in each other creates such a genuine, safe bond.
The book also handles mental health in a meaningful way, which I really appreciated.
I also loved the friendship bonds in this story. All the supporting characters were so likable I cannot wait for their stories. Really love Alba and Javi and how good of friends they were to the MCs!
I truly can’t recommend this one enough!
I received this book as an ARC for my honest review! Thank you to the author!
Law Maker delivers an emotional, slow-burn stepbrother/second-chance romance set against the high-adrenaline backdrop of motorbike racing. Asher and Kaia’s connection begins when their widowed parents begin dating. Alwyn Knighton does a beautiful job weaving Asher and Kaia’s shared loss into both their personal journeys and their relationship. The dual timeline is handled especially well…past and present blend seamlessly, showing how grief shapes their ambitions, their choices, and the way they love. Their chemistry is undeniable, and despite outside interference and the weight of unresolved emotions, you cannot help but root for them as they fight their way back to each other and brave yet another storm to earn their HEA. The only drawback is the pacing—at times the book feels long, and certain sections move slowly. But overall, Law Maker is a heartfelt, emotional read with strong characters, layered storytelling, and a romance that proves worth the journey. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Huge thank you to Alwyn knighton for the gifted e-copy in exchange for my honest review!
Sports romance books are a genre I don’t always go for but considering this book is set in the high stakes world of motorbike racing, I’d thought I’d give it a try! This book follows the lives of Kaia, a girl who is dealing with the aftermath of losing her mother and Asher, a motorbike racer who lost his father in a racing accident. The two meet when Asher’s mother and Kaia’s father get together.
It turns out these two are all each other need especially as both of them are overcoming their grief and trying to make their late parents happy and proud of them. Even before they started to develop feelings for one another, I loved seeing Asher being protective over Kaia especially considering how horribly she is treated by her father. The friendships in this book was also beautiful which made a lovely found family bond between everyone. All of this made for lovely character development and I quite enjoyed how this book turned out.
Love he rides a Kawasaki. I may be bias but Kawasakis are the best.
Author writes emotions so well. You feel them in your heart. You feel their pain, it breaks your heart. But their happiness makes up for all their pain. I wanted to jump into the book so bad.
Asher is perfection. He’s so thoughtful. I mean come on what he does for Kaia with the books. Swooning. He’s like right there with Noah Riley.
The pining! I wish they pined over eachother a little longer just because they were so cute.
Couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want it to end.
When I got close to half way, I started getting so anxious about when Russell was going to find out, cause you know it was coming. And how!
I would love a book on Asher dad. Like how he met Asher’s mother. What she was like before she met Russell. Is she redeemable? She’s honestly probably not. Russell has no redemption.
I wanted to punch Teagan in the throat. I wish Kaia would have. Only slightly joking.
Peque ❤️
Do we have an alba and Javier book coming??? Because that would be amazing.
Law Maker gave me serioussss rollercoaster feels! I need to try to get across how good this book was without giving any spoilers but I literally don't even know where to begin 🥲🤌🏻
This book gives soulmates a new meaning. If you're a lover or believer in "right person, wrong time" this is for you! 🫶🏻
There were parts of this book that I related to so strongly, and I think that really helped me empathise with the characters. Sometimes relationships (be it lovers, family, friends etc) aren't straight forward and what I love about this book so much is that I feel you grow along with the characters. You realise which relationships in life are worth the fight and which relationships just need to be accepted for what they are 🩷
