They won the race. Now they're fighting for their pack.

Omega coxswain Reese Callahan thought hiding her designation was the hardest part of joining Sable Ridge University's elite men's rowing team. She was wrong.

With her secret exposed to all eight of her Alpha rowers, the real challenge begins. Between weekly competitions that put them under constant scrutiny and a university administration determined to enforce antiquated policies against mixed designation teams, keeping their growing bonds hidden becomes nearly impossible.

Gray's possessiveness is spiraling. Cameron won't let himself get close. Jackson's past trauma threatens to tear the team apart. And that's before the intensity of being surrounded by eight Alphas starts overwhelming Reese's suppressants, triggering biological responses that none of them can control.

As rival teams circle like sharks and a charming lacrosse captain offers support that feels too good to be true, Reese must navigate increasingly dangerous waters. The stalking escalates. The administration's investigation intensifies. And with each stroke toward the conference championships, the bonds between Reese and her Alphas grow stronger—and harder to hide.

In the world of collegiate rowing, catching a crab can cost you a race. But some mistakes might cost them everything.

FALSE CATCH is the second book in the Eight Count Heat trilogy, a spicy Omegaverse reverse harem romance featuring explicit content, possessive Alphas, and a found family forged through fire. This series follows the same characters across three books and should be read in order.

Content This book contains explicit sexual content including MF and MMF scenes within the context of Alpha/Omega dynamics (heats, ruts, and knotting). The story explores themes of prejudice and institutional discrimination, includes non-graphic depictions of stalking and harassment, and references past trauma involving consent and betrayal. Intended for adult readers who enjoy steamy reverse harem romance with possessive alphas and high emotional stakes.

Was legit obsessed with the first book. I was excited to get to know all the characters that didn’t get a lot of screen time and I loved all the characters that did get screen time.

I was super excited for the second instalment to come out but it honestly fell flat. It felt super repetitive and dragged out. Lots of the same “I’ll bond because we have to…” wishy washy behaviour and all of that compounded to the point where I couldn’t reasonably ignore how stupid the rest of the world was because these kids were not pulling fast ones trying to hide her designation.

A let down compared to the high I had with the first book.

DNF 87%— repetitive/all over the place and they keep making it sound like they just want to bond because they have to.

I liked the first one

False Catch

I am in love with this series. Cannot wait for the next book to come out. I’m so happy that they decided to become a pack and live their own lives.
