While there are many helpful secular resources available to those navigating toxic relationships with adult individuals (be they parents/family, spouses or colleagues) who consistently exhibit emotionally-immature, Cluster B, BPD, and/or NPD traits, the work of Kris Reece takes a much-needed, welcome approach from the perspective of the Christ-follower who wants to honour Biblical teachings and live out the freedom and love that we have been gifted in Him. This book (and Kris's many YouTube videos) will greatly be appreciated by those who recognize His power to work in our lives, especially in overcoming the lies we tell ourselves about who we are.

I will be gifting this book to believers I know who - especially as caregivers - their ability to thrive has been stifled by trauma bonds, co-dependency, and an unhealthy desire to live up to the unreasonable expectations of their abusers.

Wow! Very helpful in identifying the key issues not only in the toxic people in your life, but more importantly in your life. Kris uses a magnifying glass on how these people have changed your core and she walks with you to regain your self identity. The Christian aspect is truly amazing. Kris flushes out the common Christian misconceptions about forgiveness and relationships. Bringing it all back to God and reminding us our worth comes from Christ. The book also references online worksheets and additional resources. They are easy to find and a great companion tool.

Eye opening, heart healing

The emotional train this book put me on, needed for understanding the what is of what happened and a path forward to healing.

I like how the book not only shows you the wound, yet also the steps to heal the wound...well start to heal it.

It wasn't a woowoo rahrah book but one of a release and rise with the awareness of what needs released.

From an accidental discovery of the author on YouTube, now the not so accidental discovery to healing.

Nothing is ever random is it?!

this book is a powerful, eye-opening read! it offers clarity, real-life examples, and encouragement for navigating narcissistic relationships while protecting your heart. all from a Christian perspective, but not in the typical “lead with grace and compassion” way. i love how it weaves in Scripture, grounding its guidance in faith while giving practical ways to set healthy boundaries. Kris’s honesty and compassion make it feel deeply validating. truly a great read!!
