As a gay matchmaker, I’ve spent my career helping other people find love in arranged marriages. Now, it’s my turn to walk down the aisle…
Sebastian I swore off dating forever. I’m much happier helping other men find their forever than I am searching for my own. I’m content with my life. Until I start having nightly phone calls with Hawthorne. He’s possessive and kind and a hell of a dirty talker.
When I need to get married to keep my matchmaking service from crumbling, I turn to the protective millionaire who makes me feel safe.
Hawthorne Ever since the attack, I’ve locked myself in my home. I was lonely enough to call a matchmaking service, but I didn’t expect to fall for the man who answered the phone.
Sebastian’s voice is a soothing balm to my soul, and he never asks for more than our conversations. Until he needs a husband to help save his business. I’m not the marrying kind, but I’ll be damned if I let anyone else claim my shy, sweet matchmaker.
If you love mm romance quick reads with hurt comfort vibes and an alpha millionaire who claims what’s his, you’ll love Matched to the Millionaire. It’s the fifth book in the Haversham City Millionaires series. Each book features a spicy mm romance that will steal your heart!
He called a matchmaking service. He didn't expect to fall for the man who answered the phone.
Sebastian’s spent years helping other men find love while quietly locking his own heart away. After a violent past left scars he doesn’t talk about, he builds a life around control and safety. But when his business starts to fall apart, there’s only one person he trusts enough to turn to, the man he’s been talking to every night from the safety of his phone.
Hawthorne hasn’t stepped outside in years. Isolated and haunted, he reaches out to a matchmaking service looking for distraction. What he finds is a voice that makes him feel again. Their late-night calls grow into something real, and when Sebastian needs help, Hawthorne’s all in. No hesitation. No question. No one else gets to have him.
What starts as a marriage of convenience becomes something neither of them expected. As Sebastian slowly reclaims his confidence and Hawthorne steps back into the world, the bond between them deepens. But when the past threatens what they’re building, it’ll take more than love to hold them together.
Sebastian grows from guarded and quiet to someone brave enough to hope again. Hawthorne lets down walls he thought would never crack. Their relationship builds in slow, intimate layers, from whispered phone calls to fierce devotion, from fear to something steady and real.
A steamy, instalove, marriage of convenience MM romance featuring a reclusive millionaire, a guarded matchmaker, and the slow unraveling of walls built by trauma. It explores healing, emotional intimacy, trust, safety, self-worth, vulnerability, protection, and found family. It's about learning to feel safe in someone’s arms again and choosing each other when it matters most.
The Elevator Pitch: A guarded matchmaker and a reclusive millionaire agree to a fake marriage that quickly turns into something fiercely real. What starts with late-night calls and cautious trust builds into a deep, protective bond with heat, heart, and high stakes. It's a steamy MM romance about healing past wounds, claiming love, and finding safety in the one person who sees it all.
This series has been delight to read. This particular story comes full circle a bit with Sebastian the matchmaker finding love with Hawthorne. Hawthorne is part of the Haversham City Millionaires friends. He was mentioned some in the previous books but now he gets his story with Sebastian. There's some traumatic issues with Sebastian and asking Hawthorne to marry him was the best in helping and protecting him. Not too angsty but enough hurt/comfort to keep you in the feels and a little bit emotional with this romance. The HEA was lovely and I believe there's more to come...I'm all in...can't wait!

Feel free to skip down to my “Overall” paragraph if you don’t feel like reading my essay of a review, lol.
Ok, I think this is now my favorite in the series so far. Funny enough, when I first started it, I actually forgot who Sebastian was for a second, despite how much I was looking forward to their story after finding out they were getting one.
I started out thinking, “Xavier, yelling? That doesn’t seem like him.” Then I remembered what happened. Ya, getting to see Sebastian’s thoughts on it and really getting to know his personality and demeanor really showed how horribly Xavier messed up by yelling at him. I know he came back to him and apologized, but after finding out the consequences that Sebastian had to deal with because of that, I feel like Xavier should have found a way to do more to make up for what he did. I felt so bad for Sebastian. And finding out why Sebastian created his business to begin with makes Xavier’s actions worse. Do I agree with Sebastian forgiving him? Yes, I do. I also understand why Xavier was so upset. Do I think just apologizing was enough though? No, definitely not. I mean, he basically ruined Sebastian’s career/business. What’s worse, is that Sebastian is such a sweet and kind guy that there’s no way that Xavier even realized what his actions had caused. I think he did later after Sebastian and Hawthorne got married in an attempt to fix what Xavier did, but by that point, it wouldn’t have meant as much for him to try and help fix his mistake as it would have had he of tried to help before it got to that point. Honestly though, using getting married as a way to save his business was just a way that both Sebastian and Hawthorne used to get together without outright having to make themselves as vulnerable as they would have been had they of just outright said they wanted to be together. Which is exactly what they both wanted pretty much from the first moment they spoke, but were too afraid to go that far. Understandable though, given their pasts.
Moving on from my thoughts on what Xavier did, lol. I love that Hawthorne’s friends never gave up on him, even with all the stunts he pulled trying to push them all away, and that Sebastian was the one who was finally able to bring him back to them. Hawthorne was so lonely and wanted to reach back out to his friends, but with how much time had passed before he got to the point where he felt like he could mentally handle bringing his friends back into his life again, I can totally understand (personally going through a similar situation at the moment) how he doesn’t know how to start a conversation with them, even with them reaching out and making the first moves. I love that Hawthorne felt comfortable enough with Sebastian that Sebastian was able to bridge that gap for him.
I also love how his friends just accepted Sebastian into their group, especially Milo. They’re really wasn’t much interaction between Sebastian and Hawthorne’s friends in the story, but I appreciate how they interacted with him and how Milo took the time to ask him how he was doing, knowing some of his struggles, even if not nearly the extent of them. Sebastian was just as lonely as Hawthorne and it’s sad that any friends that he did have didn’t try to fight to stay in his life after what happened to him and he pushed everyone away. I mean, he went like 2 years without anyone in his life before Hawthorne came into the picture, only really interacting with his clients, and never spoke to anyone about what really happened to him. That had to of been so hard. I probably would have exploded without being able to confide in at least one person about it. I’m glad that he finally told his brother (Trevor) at least some of what really happened to him and that his brother wanted to be in his life more. Their parents were horrible, it’s amazing that Trevor and Sebastian turned out as good as they did with how their parents were.
I’m glad that we got to see some justice done to Frank. Though, I do wish we got to know what happened after the trial instead of before it. I wanted to know if he got the 20 or the 50. Hoping it’s the 50. Should have been life for everything he did though.
Overall, definitely recommend reading this one. I feel like we really don’t know much about Penn, other than that he built his business, but I’m excited to know his story.
Side Note — Despite my rant about what Xavier did, you do not have to read his story to read this one. This one can totally be read as a standalone if you want. But it’s definitely a lot more enjoyable reading the whole series in order.

This book is a really sweet short story about two men traumatized by events in their lives that have them pulling back from friends and enduring loneliness while coping with their trauma. When Sebastian starts a matchmaking business after his trauma, finding perfect matches for men who have also survived their challenges, he begins a phone friendship with Hawthorne, the survivor of a shooting, afraid to leave the house, lonely, and reaching out to Sebastian to find a husband. Hawthorne changes his mind about looking for a husband, drawn to Sebastian and the way he makes him feel less lonely, even just over the phone. When Sebastian’s past catches up with him, he turns to Hawthorne, suggesting marriage to save his failing business (good publicity and following his own advice makes sense, right?). Hawthoerne agrees and the plan is set. Sebastian immediately feels safer, Hawthorne stays close, and when the feared confrontation comes, it proves to Sebastian what a wise choice he/they made, each finding the person to call home. Realistic, relatable, characters facing their trauma and fears head-on to build a better life for both. A tender, caring, emotional read for one of those times you just need something short and uplifting to make your day.

Hawthorne Has been talking to Sebastian for a while now. They met through him going applying to sabastian’s company who would match people but Hawthorne backed out at the last minute but still spoke to Sebastian. Sebastian‘s company was in trouble. He hadn’t done a very good background check on one of his clients and now don’t get me wrong they are both well matched and they’re happy together but he felt the fact that he was dating a criminal should’ve come up. So now people were pulling out not trusting sabastian. One night when Sebastian was talking to Hawthorne, he had made a joke about marrying him to save his company and surprisingly Hothorn said yes. That’s all I really want to say because these two men have such things to overcome but during their time talking to one another they started to have feelings for one another now there’s a couple of things going on in the background so all I’m gonna say to you is this is a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked both of the characters and they make a great couple.

This is the fifth book in the Haversham City Millionaires. This is a standalone read. Each book features a different couple. This is the story of Sebastian and Hawthorne. Sebastian is a matchmaker. He started his business after being assaulted by a blind date. Hawthorne was injured in a shooting two years earlier and hasn't left his house since. When loneliness became overwhelming, he contacted Sebastian. There was an instant connection between them. Even though Hawthorne decided against being matched, the two stayed in contact and became friends. One night while talking, Sebastian jokingly asks Hawthorne to marry him to help save his matchmaking business. Surprisingly, he says yes. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. I enjoyed watching how their relationship developed. And when the man who assaulted Sebastian is released from prison and threatening him; Hawthorne immediately steps up to help and protect Sebastian. I really enjoyed this book.

Matched to the Millionaire was such a cozy, heartfelt read with just the right amount of spice and emotion. I loved how this story leaned into comfort, connection, and quiet longing rather than nonstop drama. Sebastian and Hawthorne felt genuinely tender together, and their relationship grew in a way that felt warm and believable, especially through the phone calls that slowly turned into something deeper.
The marriage of convenience setup worked perfectly here, blending hurt comfort, possessive devotion, and sweet vulnerability. Hawthorne’s protective instincts paired beautifully with Sebastian’s gentle strength, and watching them both realize they deserved love was incredibly satisfying. This was a quick read, but it still packed in plenty of feeling and delivered a solid happily ever after. If you enjoy MM romance with emotional depth, soft obsession, and a comforting tone, this one is definitely worth picking up 💙✨.

An enjoyable read with just the right amount of tension and heat. I loved the setup of a matchmaker who’s sworn off love finding himself in a situation where he needs to marry to save his business. Sebastian is gentle and kind, clearly more comfortable helping others find happiness than claiming it for himself, and it made his journey especially satisfying to read.
Hawthorne was a great contrast to him being protective, intense, and far more emotionally invested than he initially realises. Their connection builds naturally through their phone calls, and by the time the marriage of convenience comes into play, the feelings already feel solid and believable. There’s plenty going on in the background to keep things interesting, but the heart of the story is these two men choosing each other when they both need safety and support the most.

Book 5 of the Haversham City Millionaires series. Can be read as a standalone.
'As a gay matchmaker, I’ve spent my career helping other people find love in arranged marriages. Now, it’s my turn to walk down the aisle…'
The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building continues to impress. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Hawthorne found the other man's voice soothed him, so wanted to help when he asked. Sebastian just wanted to help others. A steamy read with protection, possession and a marriage of convenience turned real.
