Packed Up at Harbor U #2

An Alpha’s Guide to Finding the One

Rate this book
Lainey Ryan has spent her entire life preparing to take over her mom’s store, so when that dream is unceremoniously ripped away before it can come true, she does what any omega would do: have a one night stand with a stupidly sexy himbo alpha that smells like peppermint and regrets.

Those regrets show up 12 weeks later in the form of two very pink lines and a dorm fire that leads her scent matches right to her hospital room.

Displaced and lacking health insurance, Lainey reluctantly accepts a bond of convenience and tries to navigate living with four unfairly hot scent matches and raging pregnancy hormones.

Will the guys prove to Lainey they’re ready to be more than just her baby daddies? Or will they learn it’s harder than it seems to get Packed Up at Harbor U?

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really wanted to love this one because it has basically everything I usually want in an omegaverse—an accidental pregnancy, FOUR alphas, scent matches, nesting, bonding, and a whole lot of “you’re ours now."

The darker themes surrounding Lainey’s childhood and parental trauma were handled without completely taking over. I wouldn't say the book gave me "cozy" vibes like I read in reviews before I started, but I guess that's up to the reader on how to interpret.

The biggest problem for me was Lainey. I just could not connect with her at all. She was constantly so sour and standoffish toward the guys, even when they went completely out of their way to take care of her. Her dorm burns down, they take her in, replace everything she lost, provide for her, protect her, and basically bend over backward for her... and I kept waiting for even a little “thank you.” I like my FMCs to be independent but she was just mean and not in a funny way (not all the time at least). Like girl, you're allowed to be nice to them.

Even when Lawson was trying to help her with insurance, her attitude had me wanting to shake her. She had some of the sweetest, most devoted alphas completely wrapped around her finger, and somehow they ended up with a sour grape for a mate. 😂 I also never really felt the romantic chemistry between them, which made it hard for me to buy into the relationship.

NOW, the four alphas? I absolutely loved them. ❤️ Lucky, Wyatt, Rhys, and especially Lawson were fantastic. Give me the older, responsible alpha every time because Lawson and Rhys were definitely my favorites.

So unfortunately, the FMC completely missed the mark for me, but the guys carried this one. I just wish Lainey had been more likable and that I could have actually *felt* the connection between them.

this book was bad. I can’t lie I didn’t have high expectations, but I definitely wasn’t expecting one of the main men to be on his knees and barking for her by chapter 3 and then her moving in with them by chapter 7. It was just a big mess, no chemistry, no plot and pretty much just a book full of smut.
The characters were all severely under developed and I understand with their being five main protagonist that it can be hard to develop them more but I felt that even with Wyatt’s story we didn’t actually learn anything about him and I would have loved to learn more about him.
As for the plot there wasn’t one, I would have loved to see lainley build up her whimsy from the ground up or even fight her mum for the ownership of it. But, instead all we got was the guys buying it for her and just giving it to her.
The book definitely had potential, but unfortunately it was executed extremely poorly. My only positive is that I absolutely adored lucky and at least the characters were likable.

I really liked this. It was cute.

RH Omega-verse Romance (MFMMM)
Obsessed/Protective MMCs
Found Family
Reformed Playboy
Accidental Pregnancy
Insta Love (Scent Matches)
College Setting
No OMD/Cheating
No Real OWD (More info ⬇️)
No Third Act Break Up/Intimate Scenes With OP
Multi POV (1st person)
HEA
No Condoms

Notes (Spoilers)
I only disliked 2 things
1. Lucky being a former playboy
2. Lawson letting his fears get in the way of his relationship with Lainey.

No OWD but there are a couple mentions of Lucky’s Playboy past.
Apparently he only fucked beta not omega’s. Lainey was the first omega he had sex with.
Also, there is a scene where Lucky and Wyatt are done playing a football game some ow come up to them and put their hands on them and flirts. They both tell them no, but they don’t get the hint until Lainey claims her alphas and tells the ow to back off. Also OW mention how lucky used to fuck anything with two legs. I didn’t enjoy reading that part.

Sexual Experiences
None of the MMCs have shared OW before.
Lucky - Experienced. Been with plenty of ow
Lawson - Experienced. Nothing really shared about past women or how long it’s been for him since he’s been with an ow
Wyatt - Experienced. He hasn’t been with an ow in over a year.
Rhys - Experienced. Also hasn’t been with anyone in over a year. He is pierced and Lainey is the first one to see it.
Lainey - Experienced. Hadn’t been with an OM in a year until Lucky. I think it’s also mention the she has had a threesome before.

Roles/Jobs

Lawson - Alpha. Leader of the pack. Town Sheriff. Big brother to lucky. Best friends with Rhys.
Rhys - Alpha. Tattooed and pierced. He’s owns a tattoo shop and works there.
Lucky -Alpha. He’s in his last year of college and the quarter back. Looking to get drafted in NFL.
Wyatt - Alpha. He’s also in his last year in college and plays football too. But more interest in medicine.
Lainey - Omega. First year college student. Her mom is a horrible person.

Yeah. This series is super fuckin cute🤷🏻‍♀️
I really love a low-angst omegaverse, and what little bit of drama there was, was almost completely outside of the pack. I only say almost because of the pregnancy. That feels like a teensy bit of angst within the pack but it’s not dragged out, which I appreciated.
Also, super loved Lainey’s sass.😏😂

I fear I am obsessed with Hallie Grace’s writing and I need 14 of em right now.

The perfect freaking cozy omegaverse with just a pinch of angst.

My absolute favorite kind of omegaverse is one where the FMC has not been getting the love or attention she deserves, and then all of a sudden has a pack of dudes who are bending over backwards for her. AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS.

⭐⭐⭐✨ 3.8 estrellas

3.5 STARS!!

Another super cute, cozy omegaverse from Hallie Grace and at this point I know exactly what I'm getting from this series and I'm perfectly happy about it. 😂 You literally get served with one accidental pregnancy, FOUR alphas, scent matches, nesting, bonding, found family, and a whole lot of "you're ours now, let us take care of you" vibes from this pack... gotta love it

Lainey's "egg donor" has done a NUMBER on her, and while there are definitely some darker themes around parental abuse and trauma, they never completely overwhelmed the cozy feel of the story.... still, check your triggers as parental trauma and the pregnancy tropes are not for everyone.

HOWEVER, this pack basically takes one look at this woman and says... Oh, you're pregnant, traumatized, stubborn, and don't know how to let anyone take care of you? Perfectoooo. You're ours. 😂

With 4 alphas, there's something for everyone... Lucky with his cocky sweetness and absolute determination to make Lainey his, Wyatt being this giant adorable sweetheart, Rhys looking like someone you should absolutely cross the street to avoid while secretly being one of the softest men in the entire damn pack, and LAWSON....

Listen... give me the older, responsible alphas and I'm DONE. Rhys and Law were absolutely my guys. ❤️ Especially Law...

I also really loved watching Lainey slowly become comfortable with being an omega... with the help of her down bad pack of course. Most of the time, I just want my cozy omegaverse where an omega accidentally stumbles into four obsessed alphas who want nothing more than to feed her, scent her, cuddle her, spoil her, protect her, build her a nest, and tell her she's perfect.

THANK YOU

Quotes That Got Me
"Your scent matches, darlin'."
"Anything you need, Lainey. Always."
"I will wait forever if you ask me to, Lainey."
"I am here, and I'm yours."

Another really cute addition to this series. There are some heavier moments, particularly surrounding Lainey's relationship with her mother, but overall this still gave me exactly the cozy, spicy, ridiculously devoted pack vibes I wanted.

And yes, I love Lucky and Wyatt too... But... like... Rhys and Law? Those are MY alphas. Sorry boys. 😂❤️

My ARC review

I AM SO OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK. 😭💜 I genuinely didn’t want it to end, and somehow I already want to reread it. This was exactly the kind of cozy, feel good, comforting romance I needed, and I fell completely in love with Lainey and her little found family.

I’m sorry, but I NEED TO BE LAINEY. 😭 The way Lawson, Rhys, Wyatt, and Lucky immediately wanted to take care of her, protect her, and make sure she had everything she needed??? I would like to trade lives with her immediately, thank you very much. 😂

I loved how different all four alphas were, but somehow each one gave Lainey something completely different. Lawson being the pack lead AND the sheriff had me sold immediately. Rhys being a tattoo artist? Say less. Wyatt absolutely stole my heart with how sweet and gentle he was, especially seeing Lainey make him realize just how special he was. And Lucky??? MY BABY. 😭 He is basically a golden retriever in human form, and I couldn’t get enough of him. His patience with Lainey and the way he waited for her absolutely melted me. He definitely ended up having one of the biggest pieces of my heart.

I also loved that the relationships didn’t just stop at the initial attraction. We actually got to watch each individual connection grow, and every relationship felt unique and meaningful. The amount of care, reassurance, affection, and protectiveness between them was EVERYTHING. The little moments of them taking care of Lainey had me smiling like an idiot, and the couch scene?? 😭 I was DONE.

And can we talk about Lainey’s mother? Absolutely not. 😭 I was so angry watching the way she treated Lainey because she deserved so much better. Seeing Lainey finally find people who genuinely wanted her, valued her, and made her feel safe was so satisfying.

This book made me HAPPY. I was constantly smiling, giggling, and kicking my feet. It was cozy, heartwarming, funny, emotional, and just the right amount of spicy. I loved every single one of these characters, and I seriously wish this book had been another 200 pages because I WAS NOT READY TO LEAVE THEM. 🥹

Lainey and her four alphas have officially taken over my heart. 💜 I loved this book SO much, and honestly… I might have to reread it already because I’m not ready to let them go. 😭

After reading the first book in this series I really fell in love with Hallie's writing. It was her debut book and it was amazing! This time I got to arc read this book and it was even better, the characters, the story and her writing were just perfect!

From the very first chapter when we met the pack I immediately felt this feeling of comfort and family. We have two younger Alpha's Lucky and wyatt, who have the most sweet and heartfelt relationship, like reading about time gave me such a warm feeling, it was amazing! Lucky with his funny and unserious sides and Wyatt with his gentle and insecure sides.

And then add two older alpha's, Lawson and Rhys, both a bit more on the rugged side. Rhys?! MY MANNN, this man right here is such a gentle giant and I am in LOVEE! And Lawson the sheriff, who really wants a omega but is really scared and has some strong walls up.

This pack was literal perfection! I loved that every alpha in this pack was different from their job to their personality, it really added to the story. And they match abolutely perfect with Lainey, who also has very strong walls up and has had to deal with a lot of things on her own because of her mother. She is SO STRONG and I loved reading her story, seeing her get her very deserved happy ending and I wanted SO MUCH MOREE! :(

I will not tell you to much of the story, you just have to read it for yourself! And thank you so much to Hallie grace for letting me read this book in advance, I had the best time! And for the omegaverse lovers out there Hallie should be an author on your to read list right now! I just know she will come out with many more amazing books but for now An alpha's guide to finding the one releases September 8th!

I truly enjoyed book 1 in this series but Pack Daire stole my heart! 🥹💖🫶🏼

“Never have to beg when you’re with us, pretty mama.”

These guys, from the moment they recognized her as their scent match, were hopelessly DEVOTED to her. Holy swooooooon, y’all!

“You’re ours, honey. But more importantly, we’re yours. Nothing in the world could ever change that.”

I loved that the guys were able to help Lainey fully embrace her omega instincts and finally be proud of her designation. Her mother was TERRIBLE.

“Be loud, be needy, be emotional. We won’t want you any less.”

“Is handing you my leash enough, or do I need to get on my knees and bark for you, too?”

“Bark for me, Alpha.”

People always want to know who your favorite MMC is in the harem and it’s always so hard to pick. I lovedddd Lucky and his bubbly self. If he was in a scene, I was guaranteed to be smiling. When it comes to which man was my favorite in terms of spice it definitely was DADDY RHYS! 😮‍💨❤️‍🔥

“Can I do that, Lainey? Will you let me devour you until I’ve had my fill?”

Dear Hallie, I was unprepared for that climax! My soul left my body at the suspense of it all! 😳😂

I can’t wait for more books in this series! I have some theories! 🤭

This was okay. I think I wish we had actual connection and stories from their lives to get to know them as characters but I know that's a personal opinion. I also wanted a plot? I mean I know we are supposed to think them becoming the pack and *spoiler* her being pregnant is the plot but it fell a little flat for me.

omg, Hallie Grace I love you so much. This is the second arc I have received from this author and I am eternally grateful. I read the first book and I was obsessed, so when I found out there would be a second book and it involves the pregnancy trope. SIGN ME UP. I loved Lainey and all her men. I can’t wait to read the next one! This comes out September 8th! So make sure you get a copy!

I really liked this!! everything I want in accidental pregnancy x omegaverse. there was some plot holes and things in editing that should’ve been caught (maybe new beta readers needed???) that took me out of the story. that’s my only complaint but it did take away from my enjoyment of the book

This book was so much fun and exactly what I needed! An Alpha’s Guide to Finding the One is a lighthearted omegaverse story following Lainey, Lucky, Wyatt, Rhys, and Lawson. I absolutely adore Lainey's relationship with each of the guys. They were all so down bad and obsessed with her.

There were some themes of parental abuse and trauma with Lainey’s character that, normally, I’d say I want more character depth, but in a story like this, I think it was well done and balanced. There was enough to add a little bit of depth to her character, but not so much that it took away from the cozy, sweet feel of the story.

Overall, I had a great time with this book. I wanted something I didn’t have to think about, something fun that would make me all giggly, and that's exactly what this book did.

ARC REVIEW

This book wasn't as strong as the first one, I couldn't feel the chemistry and attachment with any of the characters and it all seemed very forced. There were too many timeskips and not any concrete development between any of the leads, there was a point in the book where she moves in with them in Chapter 9 and immediately goes to a month long timeskip a couple of chapters later. While I do agree that it was cute, I couldn't actually connect with any of them and the conflict with her mom was super OTT it felt so bland and out of place it threw me for a loop.

Reads like a poorly edited first draft. There were many scenes that were more of an overview or telling than showing. I want to live in the moment not read a recap. Repetitive words and scenes. It was unfortunate because I do enjoy surprise pregnancy, but I also need a clear plot and cohesive storyline. None of the characters were fleshed out. Iʼm disappointed. So few authors do pregnancy well that I was hoping to find another. Unfortunately it didnʼt hit for me but maybe my standards were too high.

This is my ARC review.
I was sooo happy I got an ARC because I loved book 1! Sadly this one didn’t do it for me. I actually liked the beginning and surprisingly didn’t mind the pregnancy trope, because I think it was well done. BUT there was almost no angst except for some drama with the mother of Lainy. I wanted just a little more plot or story next to the romance and pregnancy. It was a cute read though and I will deffo read the next one.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Great premise. It had good potential, but it just wasn't fleshed out enough.

I really like the characters. I think the Alphas' personalities (and names) were distinct enough to remember them all, which is a pet peeve when they just blend into one or two amorphous person/persons.

It was a nice easy read, and as someone who's been reading a lot of high fantasy series lately, it was a nice palate cleanser.

I had a good time.

Do you ever get in a reading slump and no matter what you try to read, nothing hits and you keep DNFing everything? Yeah, that was me up until this book. I am so grateful that Hallie allowed me to ARC read this, because it pulled me out of that slump so fast.

Lainey is dealing with the fact that her Mother is so self-absorbed that she's selling the store that should be Lainey's legacy, that she decides to go out one night and find something to help her forget. What she finds is Lucky, not understanding why she's so drawn to him, she goes off with him for a one night stand. Lucky, on the other hand, knows exactly why, she's his scent match. Thinking that he has the whole night, he stays focused on one thing, and I don't need to tell you what that one thing is. 😏But when he falls asleep, Lainey sneaks away.

Fast forward, Lainey finds out she's pregnant and that completely throws her for a loop because she wasnt in heat when she was with Lucky. And yeah, no protection was used during their one time together. When a fire causes her to be rescued by the fire dept and Luckys brother and packmate, the Sheriff, shows up, Lawson realizes that she's the scent match that Lucky found and then lost. He calls all the guys to meet him at the hospital and to Lainey it feels like everything spirals out of control. She no longer has a place to live as her place was too damaged by the fire and her Mother sold the store & the apartment above it, all of the guys are pressuring her to move in with them, then there's the hospital bills that she has no way of paying and then Lawson has the brilliant idea 🙄to bond with her, but just him for just then. I eye roll because after that, Lawson basically ignores her. No intimate bonding time, no getting to know you, no, well, anything. He goes back to being the Sheriff and leaves her to the rest of the pack.

Thankfully, the other 3 guys don't do that and they all slowly get to know each other and 1 by 1 bond with her. And don't let the fact that she's preggo make you think there's no spice. Because there is plenty of spice, all the spice and I was so here for it! I wish we got to see a bit more of the mopey Lucky, before Lawson found Lainey as he has so much of a golden retriever personality that I think seeing him as something else would have helped round him out just a little. Thankfully, eventually, Lawson realizes the error of his ways and makes it up to Lainey. I wanna ask him why he even did that but then I remember he's a guy so....🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait to get to read more by Hallie Grace! No pressure though, I know art takes time and I will wait however long it takes for the next one to be released!

An Alpha’s Guide To Finding The One gave me all the Omegaverse cozy vibes I enjoy. This is book 2 and I already knew I would love Lainey from the first book. She is sassy and fun but also has deep seated truss from abandonment and a gaslighting, horrible excuse of a mother. This added more complexity to her character and to the overall story with having a darker theme. (Please check TW)

If there is one thing I love in an OV it’s an independent, sassy yet sweet omega! Lainey grew up with her mother shaming her for her designation and now that she’s met her scent matched alphas she’s learning how to not be embarrassed by her omega instincts. Loved the ONS/pregnancy/bond of convenience tropes. I thought they were done really well.

I adored the MMCs! Each brought something unique and different to the pack and were the perfect fit for Lainey and vice versa. Lucky with his playboy/golden retriever persona who Lainey could literally walk like a dog! That boy was so down bad for her! Sweet Wyatt who I literally melted anytime he spoke to her! I loved when he also had a filthy mouth during spicy scenes(the quiets one eh?) Rhys (I have never met. Rhys I wasn’t obsessed with) this man owned me! “Darlin’” swoon! Tatted and pierced?! Oh and he’s a pleasure dom!!! Yes please! And finally pack lead Lawson (Lucky’s older brother) that man is so protective and serious, bless him couldn’t get out of his own head sometimes! And also a Dom. I loved how there was balance between Lainey’s sassiness and their Dom dynamics. This pack complimented each other so well.

The spice?!! Yeah it was absolutely hot! Teamwork makes the dream work!

There were so many sweet and funny moments too, especially during the ultrasound appointment!

There is some drama with her mother that comes around again and it adds to that underlying darker theme but not too heavy. No third act break up which I appreciated.

I would have love to see a little more about Wyatt since we got a glimpse of the others MMC past and present family. I loved seeing Posey and her men and meeting Storie (can’t wait for her book). The found family was really comforting, I was happy for Lainey to experience true love and support.

This was a really enjoyable Omegaverse, reverse harem with plenty of spicy and cozy moments!

Absolutely FREAKING Amazing!!!!!✨✨✨✨✨

I very rarely will drop a post or review about a book unless it pisses me off in the worst way possible and that usually means I’m going to follow by DNF-ing the book. However,THIS book is not in that category. I LOVE the omegaverse genre, it is my favorite sub-genre in the romance category. And for a while, I was getting really discouraged by some of the books being written within the genre. Lately it feels as if every plot or premise within the genre is about either a really dark traumatic story regarding an Omega being traumatized because of their designation or it is about an Omega wanting to fight being an Omega just to be “different” and her chosen pack breaking their backs the entire book just to get her to see reason and be with them. This is the first omegaverse book that I have read in a long time that has done such a beautiful job balancing the unique characteristics of omegaverse romance, with just a dash of realistic trauma to give the plot some challenge, but created some beautifully complex characters along the way that fulfilled the very nature of omegaverse stories.

The main character was understandably jaded at first, but she was willing to learn and grow because she saw the opportunity in the pack of alphas presented before her and we didn’t have to spend the majority of the book with her being weirdly difficult in the relationship and she was just as mindful of the needs of her alphas as they became in tune with her needs. The alphas of this book, which 10/10 would recommend 🥵, were distinct in their own way, they all showed up for her and helped her feel safe to do so just by being themselves not prostrating themselves through emasculation, and as a result of this give and take relationship EVERYBODY benefited from the relationship, not just the Omega. And to me that is pretty much all us die-hard ABO fans care about.

I finished the book all the way to the end, which I usually get bored towards the end because I usually can predict the endings at a certain point, even with omegaverse books I like. But this book made me want to see it through and its pacing was beautifully done, no unnecessarily long plot points that went nowhere. The author did an amazing job with this story and I liked her first book as well. I definitely loved this book and I can’t wait for the third one which is obviously gonna be about Storie and her alphas and I cannot wait!!!

Five stars Author, keep up the great work!

This was actually really cute. I'm not a huge fan of pregnancy books, especially with so many guys, but I liked this one.

I think my favorite part about this book is how the guys talked and had unique personalities. It sounds like such a simple thing, but the last OV I read, the dialogue was so stilted and stuffy that it didn't sound real at all.

The Plot
Lainey is preparing to go to college when she accidentally gets knocked up. Unbeknownst to her, the guy she hooked up with, Lucky, has been searching for her for three months. Thanks to serendipity, his brother and fellow packmate, Lawson, finds her. She's able to meet all of the pack, who all happen to be her scent matches, and she promptly moves in with them. Since she comes from an abusive (verbal) home, it takes a while for her to believe the sincerity of the guys. And let me tell you, these guys are sweet. All of the drama comes from outside the pack; these guys are perfect cinnamon rolls and puppies.

The Characters
Lainey is the FMC, a college student, with a bitchy personality that the guys love. We're told she's a really good friend, but we didn't really see her do anything that would make us believe it.

Lawson is the pack lead, a sheriff, and a dom with a fear of the things that can go wrong in pregnancy. He spends a lot of time in his own head, worrying about all the things that could happen to Lainey while she's pregnant. It leads to trouble, but nothing major.

Lucky is a jock and the whole reason Lainey is pregnant. He's an absolute puppy and takes all her barbs with a smile on his face. He's also Lawson's younger brother and packmate.

Wyat is Lucky's best friend, fellow jock, and another packmate. He's the rational one, working on his medical degree. He's almost as adorable as Lucky.

Rhys is Lawson's best friend, fellow packmate, and a tattoo artist (who is heavily tattooed and pierced). He's a pleasure dom and helps Lainey come out of her shell.

The Romance
It was insta love for Lucky, but takes awhile for Lainey to reciprocate. The other guys are attracted to her immediately, but it didn't feel overly sugary and sappy. They all loved her instantly in the "care for you" sense, but don't confess anything right away. There were tons of sex scenes; only two of them have all four guys, though. That part was kind of a bummer, but given the timeline and her being pregnant, it fit.

🌟 Read Your Triggers 🌟

I just knew when I saw that this book was coming out that I was going to love this one. I just didn’t think I was going to love it this much.

I really loved the found family just from the moment that Lainey discovers that she is pregnant. I just loved how we get to see Posey and her pack. It also was lovely because got Posey because her sister in law due to her bonding with Lainey’s half brother.

The way that Lainey’s mother treated her was insane! When she pretty much left her to fend for herself, I just knew she was not going to be a character I would love. After her mother sells her store and the apartment above the store, that’s when things get interesting for Lainey.

What I love is how different these characters are but they are perfect for one another. Lawson, Rhys, Wyatt and Lucky are her four alphas who would do just about anything for their omega.

I have to saw that Lawson and Lucky might be my favorites. Lawson is one of her dominant alphas. He bonded her and then ran off. He’s also the pack lead and well, enough said. He does redeems himself pretty well.

Lucky. Oh man. This guy is like a golden retriever on steroids. I felt for him because he is the baby daddy and as happy he is - even when she is mean to him, which he absolutely loves, he was so patient of her bonding with him. He was the last one and god, that speech of him waiting for her had to be one of my favorite scenes.

I freaking laughed so hard when poor Lawson passed out at the doctor’s visit.

Rhys is her other dominant alpha. He is a tattoo artist and that whole scene when she storms into the tattoo shop had me giggling.

And Wyatt. I loved him so much. He’s so sweet and I loved how she showed him how special he was.

I loved from the moment that these guys meet Lainey, they immediately want to take care of her. The “couch” scene had me in my emotions. Every freaking scene of them taking care of her was perfect. From her and her cinnamon rolls to them just taking her shopping was my everything.

I wanted more when it was over and I cannot wait for the next scene in this book.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I am SO obsessed with this book. 😍 This was everything I wanted from a cosy romance, feel good, spicy, comforting and absolutely overflowing with love. I was genuinely giddy reading this entire book.

I truly adore these characters. They’re all so completely different, but somehow each of them gives Lainey exactly what she needs. Watching their relationships develop was honestly one of my favourite parts of the book.

Lawson is the pack lead AND the sheriff. 😍 Need I say more? I was already in love with him.

Rhys is a tattoo artist and a pleasure dom. 🥵 Sir… say less.

Wyatt absolutely stole my heart. He’s such a sweetheart and has always felt like he’s at the bottom of the pack, like nobody really wants him. BUT OH MY GOD, I love him. He’s our quiet, sweet alpha who is secretly a straight-up dirty talker and I am absolutely here for it. 🫠

And then there’s Lucky, Lawson’s younger brother and basically a hyperactive St Bernard in human form. 😂 He’s goofy, lovable and just wants everyone around him to smile. I couldn’t help but adore him.

I know with scent matches the attraction is instant, but I really loved that the relationships didn’t feel like they stopped there. We actually got to see each individual connection grow and develop, and each relationship felt special in its own way. There was so much care, reassurance and love between them, and I just ate it all up.

Also, NO THIRD-ACT BREAKUP. 🙌🏻 There was still enough tension and emotion to keep me invested without putting me through unnecessary heartbreak. 😂

This book just made me happy. I was smiling, swooning and kicking my feet the entire time. It was the perfect mix of cosy, spicy and heartwarming, and I absolutely loved getting to know this little pack.

The only trigger/content warning would be Lainey’s mum. She is horrible to her, and whilst most of it happens through text messages, she is an absolute bitch.

Thank you so much to Hallie for the ARC. I can’t wait for the next book.

I didn’t like this one as much as book 1, but it was still a fun time! It was kind of the same plot as the first one, but throw in a pregnancy.

It’s weird stuff happened, but at the same time it didn’t… lol
———————————————————————————
Thoughts and quotes I have while reading (full on spoilers ahead):

16 omg the crossovers from book 1 to book 2 are great. Our first guy POV is Lucky, the football QB that Posey made friends with, and Jude hates lol.

“Honest to God, my knees wobble when the scent hits. I’ve never smelled anything like it, and when I turn to find the source, my entire body turns to jelly. Glaring back at me with the heat of a thousand suns is the most stunning woman I have ever seen in my life.” (19) haha

“Hello? Earth to jockstrap!” She snaps her fingers, (19) lol Lucky is just staring at her.

“Careful, ball boy. I could walk you like a fucking dog and you’d thank me after.”
“Is handing you my leash enough, or do I need to get on my knees and bark for you, too?” (20) 👏🏻

leaving me in a minuscule pair of neon orange panties and a pair of heart shaped pasties that say “Eat me” on them.
What can I say? I was manifesting. (24) haha

31 I love that posey calls Paxton for their emergency in the bathroom and he comes with all the nausea supplies and pregnancy test for Lainey

237 god, her mother is truly evil. Taking out a life insurance policy on her and planning to kill her? Her mom’s dumb af. Her mom has a paper trail of awful abusive texts, taking a life insurance policy right before Lainey “dies”, a restraining order against her… everyone would suspect or know it was her. One of her pack mates is a god damn sheriff.

262 laaame. We went from water breaking on campus with posey and storie, to immediately the babies are born and everything’s good to go. I wanted to see more panic from the boys, or struggle with the birth, maybe even just like 2-3 pages, 1-2 scenes of it.

It starts of with the FC going out because she got in an argument with her mom and wants to do something wild for the night. Won’t lie that I thought she was going to do just what her mom thought of her hooking up with someone so she had a place to go to. She ends up having a one night stand go figure.

Turns out that the guy was her scented match.

Lucky was so adorable! I really didn’t like how she treated him (Lainey)

I really wanted Wyatt and Lucky to still have moments together and hooking up but it didn’t happen. They were just platonic soulmates. But they did try in the past and didn’t work out.

Then we have Lawson that is a jerk this story line felt rushed and not enough for me to be excited about since there wasn’t enough interaction between them. He supposed to be a Dom but I did not feel like he was.

Then she hooks up with Wyatt after she’s marked. He was my second favorite character.

Then we have Rhys who ends up this character also felt a little rushed and I didn’t find much of a connection with him.

I get how she is a bitch to them at times since her mother was the biggest one ever. Then she says she’s not going to treat her children like that but treats Lucky so bad (it really upset me). She wanted to be loved but she never stopped to think will if I want to be loved maybe I should do the same to all of them equally.

The smut was more than in book one, I wanted to see more action as a unit but it was mostly individual but not a lot that it felt overwhelming.
