As a child, J.P. consumed any book he could get his hands on. The likes of Stephen King, Michael Crichton, and Dean Koontz paved the bookshelves of his childhood, providing a plethora of fantastical and terrifying tales that he read way too early in life. Though the effect these books had on his psyche could be called into question, these masters of storytelling managed to warp his mind in just the perfect way to spin a fun yarn or two.
J.P. currently resides in Seattle with his wife and hellion of a cat, both of whom look at him dubiously with some frequency.

Fun, fast, hilarious, and not too scary
What a fun read--it's clever, hilarious, and exciting! This keeps you going without a lot of cheesy fight scenes. If I had to compare it to a movie, Venom comes to mind. You have a perfectly lovely person who's being possessed by a snarky demon. Sometimes the person is in charge, and sometimes the demon takes over...with or without the human's consent.🤣 Highly recommend!

I really wanted to like this, but it just goes on and on. I think I'm good on the series.

What better ride or die to have on your road trip than your own demon? Buckle up for this fun, fast-paced tale of a woman and the amnesiac demon possessing her as they search for answers to the demon's identity, ways to separate, and about the mysteries of life and death. Barnett may have shifted from cryptids to demons in his latest work, but he continues to expertly build his story's lore by meshing pre-existing supernatural tropes (Ex. 7 deadly sins) with his own fresh twists, leading to yet another thrilling page-turner.
