Rescued by an alien berserker. One bed. Zero control.
Michelle came to Parac'Norr for construction work, not to lose her mind over a handsome alien with yellow eyes that make her forget how to breathe. Zeke is unfairly gorgeous, all carved muscle and controlled power, and he watches her like she's the only thing worth looking at in the galaxy.
But when ferals snatch her, the gentle medic transforms into death itself, tearing her captors apart with his bare hands. She should be terrified… instead, that just makes him more attractive.
Trapped by a blizzard in a one-room cabin, there’s just one bed… She is SO done for. Especially when he claims she’s his.
But something's been hunting them through the storm. The real danger isn't the monsters outside… it's that she's starting to need Zeke in ways that have nothing to do with protection. And on this frozen planet, giving him her heart might be the one risk she can't survive.

I loved this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and really had my attention the entire time. This one doesn't take long to get going and once it does, it stays rolling. This is the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a standalone. Michelle and Zeke met in the previous book and have spent a little bit of time around each other and both are definitely intrigued and interested in the other but for different reasons have not made a move or made that known at this point. Michelle is dealing with a broken leg and ends up going out with 2 other humans to survey the secondary site and ends up being kidnapped by ferals. When Zeke learns that Michelle is taken, he loses it a little bit and wants to leave immediately and demands to be part of the rescue party. Michelle is being smart about her situation and I loved her ingenuity in leaving a blood trail behind so that they could track her. She is a strong woman and while she was absolutely an underdog and underestimated, she made sure she couldn't be counted out and she used her smarts to even the playing field as much as possible. I loved her inner strength and determination that we see throughout the story and how she doesn't panic with the situation she is on or when it is clear something is hunting the ferals and taking them out easily in the blizzard they are walking in. I loved seeing Zeke as he had to deal with that other side of him and come to grips with it. Michelle helped in that respect as she didn't run and it didn't scare her. There are definitely some twists and turns and other pieces that come out in this story about Izaea and the ferals and what is hiding/been hidden on this planet. I can't wait for the next book and to see where things go next! I truly enjoyed this one and seeing Michelle and Zeke build their relationship and become mates. I have really enjoyed this series and am very exited for the next one! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
We first meet Michelle, in Sy (Alien Berserkers of Izaea #2) she’s the tough, capable human engineer who refuses to sit still when things go wrong. Michelle is independent, stubborn to a fault, and determined to prove herself on Parac’Nor, even after being injured during one of the planet’s vicious storms.
Enter Zeke. The quiet, intense alien medic who tends to her with a gentleness that borders on reverence. From the moment he laid eyes on her, it was clear Michelle wasn’t just another patient - she was his.
When Michelle is abducted by ferals and dragged far from the safety of the garrison, Zeke’s calm exterior cracks. Driven by fear, fury, and a deep instinct to claim and protect, he will cross the wilds of Izaea to bring her home. But the rescue doesn’t unfold like a neatly, what Michelle witnesses is Zeke unleashed, something primal and devastatingly powerful. Something that should make her run.
“The knowledge should have terrified her. This was the same man who’d ripped through dangerous ferals like they were nothing. But fear was the furthest thing from her mind.”
What I loved most about this story is the dynamic between them - Michelle doesn’t fall apart, she doesn’t hide, she chooses. Zeke may be a warrior with something monstrous under the surface, but with her, he’s steady, protective, and heartbreakingly tender. Their connection feels earned, equal, and incredibly compelling.
Mina Carter balances this dangerous world with slow-burn intensity, and emotional vulnerability with ease. This series continues to deliver exactly what I want from sci-fi romance: alien heroes who more than adore their human partner and heroines with a grit and tenacity, that feels real.
My verdict: This is a wonderfully spicy, intensely intimate, and beautifully emotional addition to the Alien Berserkers of Izaea series, Zeke and Michelle’s story absolutely hit the spot. I loved every minute.

Thrilling SciFi Romance Zeke is going to have to work to keep her. Michelle Trevor is a tiny woman who is also a clever one; skilled in engineering. When she gets snatched, by some gruesome, ugly ferals, her broken leg is going to get worse but so is her terror. Because these were alien murderous berserkers. Zeke is joined in the hunt to find her by Raaze; a feral excellent tracker who is new to the planet and new to being Izalean. Zeke barely can tolerate him at first. But Zeke's garrison commander, Kraath, tells him to cool it, to stand down and let them get going to find Michelle. Things are about to get worse between the horrible incoming storm, the possibility to losing her blood trail and finding that there is another pack of ferals chasing after the first group. Zeke is furious and very afraid for her ! What an interesting character Zeke is. Talk about him having blood rage and then when something called his legion. Turns out there is two in one personality to him ... he has a symbiote! Ah, then I got it ! Things just kept getting more interesting from there. I already liked the both of them and was hoping for a good ending for them !
Mina Carter did an outstanding job when it came to building this foreign world, describing aliens, attacks, dealing with emotions and the tremendous pull between Michelle and Zeke. It kept me all in. I loved the unexpected ending of the story. We get a quick look at sly Raaze and he's definitely plotting something and he's going to get his own book.
I read this book via my HOOPLA app and really enjoyed it !
Poor Zeke thinks of himself as a monster. Something to be feared, terrified of. This plucky engineer from Earth sees him as nothing more than a protector, a hot male out of her league.
This book continues the series through the greater Lathar world and I love reading about the excommunicated Izaeans. Their blood rage has made them outcasts and whilst some of them truly are dangerous to be around (ferals I'm looking at you!) most just want to have a family and friends.
Michelle is the smart, assertive, take no crap, independent fmc I love to read about. She's a woman in a man dominated area, she survived divorce, raising children, adventures in space and nothing phases her. She manages to deal with everything put in her way...including a broken leg and one massive p'ed off, over protective warrior!
We learn more about the ferals in general and find that there is deception afoot within the Izaeans. The chemistry between Michelle and Zeke is intense and passionate and they have more than a few HAWT interludes but the relationship between them is much more than just between-the-sheets-action. I really enjoyed the scene were Michelle is high on pain and meds and keeps telling Zeke he's beautiful and she's too old for him! Woman this man is probably twice your age, lol!
It looks like Raaze, warball champion and tracker extraordinaire who is next for cupid's arrow!
Michelle is a human woman sent to a planet with alien men who are known to have an affliction that can make them violent. When it overtakes them they go feral. This is definitely a book that should not be read as a standalone. I have actually read all the books in the series and still was confused on some of the items which is why I rated it 3 out of 5 stars. It is almost an insta love which also tries to advance the overall storyline of this race of aliens however I found many of the plot items in the story hard to follow. Why was Zeke's legion calm? Why are his eyes yellow and the female's yellow also? There were a lot of little clues dropped and I struggled to remember items from previous stories and understand what was being explained. I think there were just a lot of clues dropped with not real explanations, so it just ended up confusing. For the romance it was OK but there could have been more development between the characters. I felt it was the two characters separate, Michelle gets abducted, and suddenly Zeke has lost the love of his life.
Another author I would possibly have given 4 stars but usually these books by Mina Carter are so much better and develop the story as well as the characters so only gave 3 stars.
This is definitely not a series you can just drop into. There’s barely any physical description of either character and we learn right away that they met in the previous book. There are also dropped threads that would be annoying even if I had read the previous books.
At one point they’re holed up in a cave with dangerous pursuers circling outside, then in the next scene they’re merrily sashaying down the mountain with no explanation of how they got away. And what happened to the heroine’s co-workers whose names and personalities we learned before they got attacked by her kidnappers at the beginning? Try not to get too invested — you’ll never find out!
Also, just how old is the heroine? In the beginning the author makes it sound like she might be in her late forties or early fifties, with one adult child. But later she mentions grandchildren and also menopause being “long past” (yet somehow she’s gushing all over the place whenever they have sex—I’ll have what she’s having!).
Otherwise, the book is well written and mostly typo-free. But these annoying inconsistencies kept yanking me out of the story.
Michelle may be older but she was still a good engineer. She may be injured but she could still do recon. When she and two other human males went out to check the perimeter, they didn't expect the ferals to strike. Injured again, she is taken. Zeke isn't about to let any feral take Michelle. He will hunt them down. But the journey is hard and when he finds her, his legion takes over. Now rescued and needing time to rest, they are alone. But the ferals are never far behind.
Kraath and Raaze go with Zeke to find Michelle but Kraath seems to be on his own mission. Raaze keeps irritating Zeke. When he keeps telling Zeke how "soft" the humans are it makes matters worse. I love the time Zeke and Michelle have away from the others. They learn about each other. And we also learn new things about legion. It isn't just the armor protecting Zeke. We learn that there could be female Izaea. I love the battle. That was definitely intense. The passion that Zeke and Michelle has is hot. I was angry at Raaze's big mouth. I would recommend having some tissue. I cried towards the end. I am looking forward to Raaze's story. What is he up to?
This is such a powerful addictive read. You are thrown into an epic adventure at full throttle. The intensity of this story is beguiling. This is the third book in this series and I have to say they just keep getting better and better. I don't know where Mina gets her inspiration from, but, Zeke is commanding and he deserves the attention he empowers. 😱
This is a magnificent read from start to finish. Both Zeke and Michelle are intoxicating together. This is a story with so many surprising aspects. you are left questioning characters you thought you understood.
Where the next book will take us is anyone's guess but I have a feeling we are going to have an amazing ball buster of a female!!
Michelle, a mature, independent, and full of skills woman, didn't expect the turn her life was taking, and much less in such a dangerous environment. Zeke's attraction to Michelle dominated him, and he felt out of control, so when she found herself in danger, all his impulses were unleashed and made him fearful for her. The way the plot developed was interesting and intriguing. There were many things that made me suspicious, and I didn't like Raaze and Kraath 's behavior. I love how the author creates twists and turns in this story full of secrets, mystery, adventure, suspense, romance, and passion. It kept me reading avidly, following the characters' adventures and the discoveries they made, naturally asking questions at every turn.
Michelle does not like to be still. An injury may have slowed her down but she is not out. Zeke has been fascinated by Michelle even before her injury. But when she is taken by feral will he find that he has waited too long to make his interest known? Zeke is the latest installment in Mina Carter's Alien Berserkers of Izaea series. I enjoyed getting to know Zeke and Michelle better. I loved seeing Zeke evolve and Michelle accept each and every chang. I love that Michelle showed Zeke that she is fragile in body only. She brings more to their relationship than he knows but needs to learn. This was a wonderful addition to this series and I cannot wait to see where Ms. Carter will take us next.
Not the best in this series but still better than the main Lathar books.
The Ferals/Izaean series is my favorite (there's something about an unhinged, protective man) and whole Zeke's books started strong, it fizzled for me.
There was just a little too much focus on setting up Krath's bullshit storyline/betrayal that it took away from the main story. Too much of this book focused on his side story and the female ferals without enough conclusion for that side plot.
I think this book would have been better focusing on the main couple and their fight for survival.
I will say, this was kind of the perfect Halloween read because some of those wild ferals are nightmare fuel.
Also, hopefully Raaze's book includes a shitload of character growth and makes him significantly more likeable.
This is a fascinating series. This latest spinoff is really unique in plot and the way the author builds interest in the next book without shortchanging the story in this one. Zeke and Michelle are wonderful and I look forward to seeing them in the future, now Raaze! Mina CarterMina Carter
This series just keeps getting better and better. Zeke and Michelle's story is full of twists and turns, bringing in new plot lines, leading in directions one wouldn't have guessed. Could not put it down, read it way pass my bedtime. Kraath is still a mystery, and I have to admit I am not liking Raaze very much and can't wait to read about him being taken downby an inferior, human female. You know it is going to be spectaclular. Always well worth my time and $$.
I received an ARC from this author and am happily and freely leaving this review.
Though we don’t know how old the Izean ferals are the older heroine in this story really struck a cord with me. The fact that Michelle is divorced, has grown children, and has been making her own way for years is so different from the young women recruited for the Lathar warriors to expand the species. Of course Zeke is a lot more than a normal Lathar and the Izean exile planet is more dangerous than humans could imagine. Wild ferals and secrets expand the romance to a true sci-fi adventure and a great read.
From the first page to the last Ms. Carter has woven a story of attraction (though both MCs' fight the allure). Twists and turns with a serpent's curves throughout the whole story line. Zeke and Michelle were introduced in the previous book but in this Book #3 we especially get their stories. Michelle was a refreshing character in that she was a mature older woman with children and grandchildren; not the usual female previously written about. Zeke had his own "other" to deal with and Michelle wasn't scared off by this element of his.
This is a great addition to the series and a wonderful adventure romance. I really like that Michelle was a mature character. Zeke thinks he's a monster but all she sees is a protective hottie ;P I really got a kick out of her being on meds and saying how she was too old for him. Ha! He's definitely got her beat. Lol! Expect to get caught up in this page turner of a read that's chock full of secrets, mystery, twists, adventure, suspense and hot romance. The plot sure was engaging and I loved it! I can't wait for the next book to see how things continue to unfold for the series :D
I have most of Mina Carter's books and as in most series, some are a hit and some are a miss. I was really looking forward to this follow-up from the first 2 books in the series and this book was a disappointment. After the powerful story in book two, this one was weak, with fight after fight filling in the blanks. Somehow, I expected the teenagers to play even a small part in this story after the previous one but it was as if the huge drama from the book Sy had never happened. All in all Book 3 missed the mark in this series.
Sweet quiet Zeke hiding a nature that should make anyone threatening his beloved mate, Michelle, quake in their boots. This is another long awaited book in this series that also reveals another piece of the puzzle that surrounds the Izaeans and the world that they live in. Each character in this series is intricately crafted with their own story to tell. You become intimately acquainted with their loves, their struggles, their pain and their journeys. Very much a must read.
It is amazing how this author can grab you from the first paragraph and not let you go until the end of the book. I adore this whole series. The characters are wonderful and the story is tense and exciting, with kidnapping and rescue. I love Michelle as the heroine, an older woman can still be a wonderful character and the hero of her own life. Zeke is fabulous too, but I really like the way the female lead characters are written. The old one bed, huddling together for warmth is just too cute, too.
Zeke is by far my favorite book in this fantastic series! Right from the first chapter you become so engrossed by the storyline, you will find it hard pressed to put it down. I love how Carter opened up some new storylines and has me wondering what new adventures await us readers. Kraath is still a mystery…and it makes me want more of this series. Excellent love story with a bit of a twist. Download and enjoy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Everything has a deeper meaning and nothing is as it seems when after the construction site catastrophe, Michelle travels with a few men to check on some strange underground readings, when they are attacked and she is taken. Zeke sets off to find her. An epic storm makes it treacherous but never underestimate an Izaean Berserker looking for his reason for being. Excitement and surprises of epic proportions. Unforgettable and heart stopping.
I love the story and series. I can't wait for the next book. Zeke was removed from his family at an early age after presenting as a berserker. He was sent to Parac'Nor with other males. Michelle can to the planet for construction work and ended up getting kidnapped by ferals. Zeke is determined to find her and keep her to himself. Can he save her in time? Must read to find out. I read an arc of this book and this is my review.
A sci-fi romance. Michelle has somewhat of a stubborn streak and will stop at nothing to prove she is more than the aliens believe she is. A human is seen as weak and a female must be protected. But she is so much more than that. One temperamental planet may be her match. The story brings danger is several ways. The romance builds even if neither will admit it. Zeke is the quiet one but he is just as dangerous as any alien male and maybe even more so. The romance gets hot and wild.
The third book in the Alien Berserkers of Izaea series and it was an exciting addition. Zeke’s character is a quite one until Michelle finds herself in a dangerous situation. What happens next was a nail biting, heart pounding storyline with a feral alien will do everything to protect his one and only. I enjoyed the steamy chemistry between the characters and all the action and danger that surrounds them.
This book will take your emotions on a tilt-a-whirl ride. Make sure you have the tissues close. It’s a great story. I couldn’t put it down until the last word. Mina Carter just gets better & better.
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this book; the plot is great, fast-moving, and addictive, taking readers on an epic adventure at breakneck speed. It's the third book in this series, which, in my opinion, keeps getting better and better.
I was hooked from start to finish by Zeke and Michelle's story, who are absolutely fantastic together.
Another great book that has added to the overall story. When Michelle is kidnapped Zeke has trouble holding it together. Michelle is a feisty capable human who does all she can to be found. Zeke won't stop till he does. This story is action packed and it gives a hint of the next book at the end. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
loved this one and can't wait for more!! the world building and smut is good and while I personally liked books one and 3 better than 2, I'm excited to see where this goes! Zeke was super hot and I'm glad we got more romance and connection in this one.
I'd love to see Tor, Lila and Kal end up together aged up. not sure if I'll vibe with Raaze (he's a bit of a dick) but that stands to be seen.
Refreshing to read about characters that weren’t written 2D. Dialogue Flowed naturally both spoken and internal. Good fast read that held your attention til the end.
Another great read from Mina. Love these berserkers. The intro of the new elements is also fascinating and I’m wondering where this is going to go. Cant wait for Raaze’s book and to see what happens to Kraath.
